Guest Reviews
- Jacqueline (7/5): - Spacious Cleaners were there when we were trying to check in and had to wait. The air con was then not on and it was extremely hot and took a long time to cool down meaning our small children had to sleep in the loungeroom
- Maureen (7/5): It was a nice location and great to take our dog. - Location was great Squeaky floors, noisy neighbours and the outside was lacking care.it suited us and lovely to
- Robert (8/5): Excellent - Clean and well located No instructions on how to use oven.
- Patrick (10/5): Fabulous restful stay ina super clean capital cottage. - Clean Nothing
- Andrew (10/5): - Great location for what we had to do and dog friendly as well!
- BRETT (8/5): Cute cottage perfect for Canberra getaway - Place was very clean
Facilities were good
Beds were good Nothing of note
- Mellerick (10/5): - Location was good. Could get to most places of interest via 10 minute drive. Quiet neighbourhood with network of walking paths for dog walking and a great nearby footy oval where other dog owners with well socialised dogs gathered. 5 minute walk to small local supermarket, and eateries.
House was spacious and comfortable with a great outdoor deck to capture sun for alot of the day I really can't fault this accommodation for the price
- Robert (1/5): Could not stay - fell well below Booking.com standards! - We have booked well over 100 properties across every Australian state and territory, as well as internationally, and have never felt compelled to leave a negative review - until now.
We were very disappointed with the state of this property and were unable to stay (2 nights booked) due to several unacceptable cleanliness and maintenance issues. Upon arrival we found the fridge was dirty and shockingly had dog hair inside it - completely unhygienic and not what you'd expect when arriving to unpack food and drinks. To make matters worse the only cleaning items provided were an old dirty and worn out sponge/scourer and dish brush. It's unreasonable to expect guests to have to clean on arrival, especially with inadequate and unhygienic supplies. The kitchen/meals area had dog hair on the floor and the kitchen table stained from previous spills that had not been wiped down. This lack of attention to basic cleaning was very off-putting. In one bedroom the sheer curtains were badly ripped and the block out blinds were hanging off the track making it impossible to close properly. Given that the window faced the driveway at the front of the property this offered little to no privacy - an issue that should have been addressed prior to the arrival of guests. At a minimum guests should be provided with a clean fridge, new cleaning supplies and privacy. Unfortunately this property failed to meet these basic standards. We could not stay at the property and sought alternative accommodation immediately. We notified the host that we were not staying at the property and provided photos of our concerns as well as reporting issues to Booking.com and sought a full refund which was denied by the host. Based on our experience we feel the property is not deserving of the rating it currently holds. This experience was far below what we've come to expect from Booking.com listings.
- Georgia (9/5): - The feel of the house and location was great! It was easy to get to and go explore the city. The house had everything we needed. Only downside was swearing from neighbours. Would have give. It a 10/10
- Claire (8/5): Very good - Close to good restaurants Nothing
- Dave (9/5): Very comfortable, welcoming 2 bedroom house with fully equipped kitchen with off street parking. - Fully equipped house. Kitchen has everything needed if self-catering is desired including a sodastream machine. Off street parking under a carport adjacent to the front door - for easy access with luggage etc. Lovely outdoor area, private and located quite centrally to major attractions (National Gallery, Parliament, War Memorial etc). Not far to the Kingston wharf eatery precinct; and a small shopping centre at the end of the street. N/A Everything was wonderful.
- Nina (8/5): Very good, pet friendly accommodation - The location is fantastic, close to public transport, local shops, and restaraunts. Beautiful parks and surroundings. Private and lovely backyard where you can have some morning tea or afternoon lunch. There is a plenty of cutlery, crockery and glassware. Noisy neighbours at night on their motobikes and cars.
- Max (10/5): An excellent stay for up to 5 people. - We are an elderly, active couple who have at least 3 'get-aways' each year, generally renting properties rather than motels. There is little not to like about our experience. On a comfort level the house of one of the best we have stayed in, considering that the temperature was in excess of 30*C while we were there, due primally to the house being surrounded by shrubs and trees. All the furniture is clean and comfortable. The kitchen is convenient to use. The 2 bedrooms are spacious with generous wardrobes, and the beds are a delight to sleep in. I would recommend this house for a 5 person family.
The location is accessible to major thoroughfares. My main criticism is that the access details were not available until the day we were scheduled to arrive. One or two days beforehand would be more suitable.
While there is a small shopping centre nearby, major shopping needs to be in another suburb.
- Hunt (10/5): Exceptional - Facilities were excellent, children were well catered for, and Sebastian was very accommodating. Nil!
- Adam (10/5): Very happy, thank you. Will stay again - Excellent
- Ged2015 (7/5): We will stay again, but really want to be able to use the ducted ac - Location, room and house layout. Facilities were generally very good, but could not get the ducted heating to stay on more than a few minutes… it had some crazy programs in it, when all I wanted was on/off and to adjust the temperature. As mentioned above, ducted heating did not work
