- Levent (1/5): Scammer Place - That is a scammer, dishonest and an amateur place which should cease doing business first thing early in the morning tomorrow. A place of business operates, depending on the services that are shown visually and written on publication and the advertisement means for the prospects of clients that decide which kind of service they would like to get depending on the usual information provided by the business itself. Well, unfortunately, that place is not one of them do not ever get fooled by the chunks of good reviews that uninformed people who didn’t check their reservation made. They put the picture of AC on the reservation but when I arrived there, despite the room that I choose depending on the information they put it was supposed to have an AC but when I told them this fact, they told me that my room didn’t have an AC and I asked them why they put the picture of an AC on a reservation that they claim that it did not have an AC? They told me that this service was extra and provided on their page as an information which I asked them to show, but they we’re not able to show it later in the policy details, nor in any other part of their main page and Booking.com, and instead of conceding their mistake and compensating the client, they made me wait on foot that for minutes saying they were gonna call the booking he called the booking made me wait another several minutes for his amateurness and lack of knowledge of doing business and I got heated and I left the place but I strongly recommend you to check a reservation because they are scamming people by putting misinformation wrong photos that did not belong to the room itself and they’re making to pay an amount that wouldn’t be proper since it will be an unjust style of doing business that I have for the first time of my life of traveling to too many places encountered. Check the reservation you made check the photos and if they don’t match the room do noy pay at the entrance if the pics dont match.

- Silke (7/5): - Sehr freundliches Personal und ein landestypisches Frühstück. Ich hatte das Zimmer gegenüber der Küche, das war wohl Pech. Mein einziges Fenster war in Richtung Küche in den Flur, dass hatte ich nicht erwartet und mir hat frische Luft gefehlt, ist vielleicht Gewöhnungssache, es mich aber gestört. Man sollte auf diese Art Fenster hinweisen.

- José Nailson (10/5): Muito agradável no tocante ao quarto. - A simpatia dos funcionários é contagiante, sempre querendo ajudar de qualquer maneira. O quarto é enorme com um bom ar condicionado, duas big camas e ventilador em cima de cada cama. O café da manhã muito bom. Uma cozinha bem completa e disponível para os hóspedes até 22 hs. Não tem água quente, mas por conta do calor extremo é irrelevante. A localização não é central tendo que caminhar bastante para pontos turísticos principais ou tomar um táxi.

Quedaba cerca de la parada del bus interurbano hacia el terminal de buses La habitación era cómoda. Un día fueron algo impuntuales con el inicio del desayuno. Pero quizá fue algo esporádico, porque en general es un hostal al cual volvería.

- Christina (8/5): The place was nice but the administration of it could be better - The breakfast was great, and despite my complaints I can recognise overall it was a fine place to stay. What I didn’t like was that I had to move rooms and then realised that I didn’t even have to move - as in the room that I was told to move out from wasn’t even booked and stayed empty. They just didn’t have the room I booked available the first night and made me pack up and move because I was put in a bigger room. It also annoyed me the way it was presented. Oh you get to stay in a bigger room for the same price! I don’t care about having a bigger room, I just don’t want to have to pack up again. As I was leaving for my walking tour, the staff told me that I would have to pack my bag and leave the bag out for the room change before I went which made me late and miss my tour. I think the aircon fee was already too high at 10USD per day, but also when I asked for the aircon at night the employee asked me for 32USD for two nights, and only reduced the price when I said I was already told 10USD. I don’t know where they came up with these prices. Given the room change inconvenience, they could have given me a discount but instead tried to rip me off.
- Austin (8/5): - The staff were amazing and the included breakfast was an awesome deal, definitely recommend having this. If you are planning to see cerro negro and sand board, book through the hostel. The price is exceptional and it ended up being a private tour with an awesome instructor. The facilities were clean and full of character. Would recommend. We saw a huge spider when we checked into our stay, which is understandable and no fault of the property but something to be aware of. Also the location was a little bit of a walk to the main city center so if you are planning to go out late at night just be cognizant of that and be very safe with your belongings.

Parken nur auf der Strasse vor dem Haus, ist aber anders in der Beschreibung angegeben. Nur kaltes Wasser in der Dusche

My room was fresh with 2 fans & AC, but was next to the common atea/food service area. I was comfortable there, but I always sleep with air plugs. Location was about 15 min walk to both the main square and also bus for Las Penitas.

- JINSUK (4/5): 손님을 존중한단 느낌이 부족 - 직원들은 매우 친절함, 주인도 친절함, 도착한 첫날이 토욜이라 환전 못해 어려운 상황일때, 환전해줌 1.첫날은 예약한 방에 문제가 있다며 수리해서 다음날부터 주겠다며 예약과 다른 방 2개를 선심쓰듯 쓰게 함. 내생각엔 오버부킹한것같다. 2. 첫날밤 욕실에서 손가락 1마디만한 바퀴벌레 3마리 있는 것을 발견. 직원에게 보여주고 치우도록 함. 3.11박중 조식이 늦어 한번은 7:30이 아닌 8시에 또 한번은 8:20쯤 7:50분쯤 먹음. 4. 공용주방이 있다기에 예약했는데 냉장고 1대로 호스텔과 공용으로 써야 함. 식품을 제대로 넣을 수가 없음. 호스텔 식품을 넣기도 부족한 상태에서 우리 식품은 일부만 간신히 넣고 계란 및 식품을 방에 두었다가 조리할때 들고 왔다갔다 해야 해서 불편함. 5. 화장실문이 안에선 잠글 수 있는데 밖에선 닫아도 고정이 안되어 내내 열어두고 생활했음. 6. 아침이 너무 적음. 무료조식이라곤 하나 바나나를 동전두께보다 좀더 두껍게 저민것 5쪽, 수박이나 파파야도 깍두기만한것으로 네댓개, 그나마 파파야는 너무 오래된 것 같음.

Purtroppo nella mia stanza c'era un odore molto forte di qualche prodotto usato per pulire ( acido o varichina) che con il grande caldo veniva amplificato. Il forte odore mi ha provocato un gran mal di testa e sono dovuta uscire la mattina presto perché l'odore era veramente persistente. Non mi sono potuta lavare i capelli in quanto la doccia era sprovvista di soffione. C'era solo un tubo di ferro che usciva dal muro.

- Gabriel (6/5): Very tiny rooms, strong heat, commission if payment in cordobas - Good breakfast (supposed to be from 7:30, but it's after 8) The rooms are very tiny, with massive stifling heat on the ground floor and a musty smell (even on the bath towel). There's very little privacy. When it came time to pay, the evening staff refused to accept the current exchange rate and imposed a "currency exchange fee" for paying in cordobas... in three weeks in Nicaragua, I've never seen anything like that. I was supposed to stay one more night, but I left for another hotel. EDIT I can confirm that the hotel used an exchange rate far above the current day's rate and explained that it was a "currency exchange fee" to pay in cordobas. Clearly, not all rooms offer a comfortable stay, let be honest.

- Emily (7/5): Local accomodation - served us well (get room with AC) - Staff were lovely, breakfast included (although you miss if you go volcano boarding in morning), good pressure in shower although cold water only. Very hot and stuffy in rooms without aircon, we had to upgrade it was unbearable. Distance is a bit out of main area - walkable but it’s like in the suburbs

- Iffat (8/5): - Like all the hostels in the area, it is one of them. Location is perfect. It is a bit away from the main tourist area but somehow was also close. You don't need a taxi to go to town. As always I always do my due diligence to not bring food in the room of the hostels in tropical environment. There is a good place downstairs and basic kitchen items to have your meals. AC worked perfect but the speed and temperature of the shower was quite suspicious. Usually I am so tired by the time I reach hotel that I ignore these shower features but I was so darn muddy and drained after the volcano boarding that I couldn't feel fresh even after juggling with the shower for half an hour. Other than that, breakfast had typical Continental and traditional option. It was fulfilling. They also sell water, juices, basic hygiene supplies like shampoos, razors which was helpful. The nights were peacefull since it is a bit away from the hustle bustle of a touristy town. But, like in my case, if it is a weekend then you can hear music from the clubs near the hostel till 2 or 3 am. Please fix your showers or edit your advertisement that you do not provide hot showers.

Muchísimas gracias a quienes estaban en la cocina para el desayuno, siempre tan amables. The entire staff was so helpful. A big thank you to those in the kitchen for breakfast, always so kind.

- Esme-May (6/5): - It was good value for money. The bed was comfortable. The room had a TV with Netflix. The AC and fan was very much needed in the room. The location wasn’t the best, quite far out the centre and in an area we didn’t feel comfortable walking in at night. The staff member that checked us in didn’t seem very friendly towards us, like we were an inconvenience but the woman that cooked breakfast was friendly. Extremely noisy on our last night with very loud music/band playing. The breakfast was very very average.

Las habitaciones con abanico son muy cerradas y por ende muy calientes, la ventilación no ayuda en las noches calurosas de Leon.

- Ciara (6/5): Book AC room and be prepared to walk to the centre - Good price, delicious free breakfast, super friendly staff, clean Leon is a super hot city, although we booked the fan room, we feel all rooms should have AC it’s simply too hot. Room was very small too, no air flow meaning damp towels and no space for your stuff. No warm water in the shower. Wouldn’t try cook in the kitchen. Very far from the centre in our opinion 15-20mins through a quiet, dark, local neighbourhood. Lastly - the hostel recommends a laundry service on the reception counter that collect + deliver which was great but unfortunately they ruined our white T-shirts with many stains. Not related to the hostel obviously but I believe they should not recommend this place.
