Took money straight away and couldn’t get in, rang numbers booking gave us and they were being decline THIS PLACE IS A SCAM
- Danielle (6/5): - Easy to enter
Good location Rooms nothing like the pictures
No staff in the facility & don’t answer emails or calls
No internet when told there was
- Helen (1/5): -
- Hague (1/5): I want a full refund - Nothing I never even made it into the hotel since there was no code given to get into the building and nobody would answer the phone or door even tho it was only 8:00pm
- Phoebe (1/5): scam! Do not book! Avoid!!!! - Nothing it’s a scam! Avoid at all costs It’s a scam, no response from owners, no check in information provided, it’s one big scam! Do not book
We was left with two children trying to find alternative accommodation and they did not refund
- sophie (1/5): - Nothing Bed was not made disgusting mattress room stuffy. Couldn't stay. In basement was scary. Requesting a refund
- Wendy (3/5): - Good location, for local shops and just round the corner was coral island. Room was dirty, other guests rubbish under the bed. Dirty toilet brush. Dirty bin, No WiFi as stated the password did not work. Beds very uncomfortable . The room Definitely didn't look like the pictures advertised.
- marie (1/5): It’s a scam - Nothing This property is a scam. You can’t gain access to it. Phone numbers go straight to voice.
DO NOT BOOK THIS PROPERTY
- Buckley (2/5): Didn't get in - Went to the door no answer. Looked through the window and saw the rubbish on the window ledge. Couldn't get in no answer and also no parking.
Please could I have refund? I always book with you a lot, But I was not happy.
- Chloe (1/5): CLOSED! - Don’t book! They have closed down 😒 no warning, no signs, all lights on ignoring the door! Took my money a week ago. Also looks very run down not like photos! Luckily across the road had one room free! DONT BOOK!!!!
- Kev (1/5): - We got scammed here for the first time ever after using booking.com service. The was no hotel at the address. No one was answering there phones. We got told it has happened to a few people now and we checked the reviews and seen the bad ones saying they have been scammed. I had my partner and kids with me at the time and had to book another hotel down the road in an emergency. Worst experience ever. I've even had no luck in contacting booking.com so I have had to report the fraud through my bank. This hotel needs taking down off booking.com
- Lew (1/5): Do not Stay - Nothing we left within 5 mins of walking in Was filthy, dirty sanitary towels in bathroom, bedsheets were dirty and had marks on, room smelt disgusting, nothing like the photos at all and was virtually impossible to contact anyone regarding issues and check ins
- Andrew (1/5): -
- Nicole (3/5): - Dirty food in bedding staff no help
- Michael (1/5): Worse than HMP strangeways - Central location Punch holes in wall, no staff, no messages about how to check in. Large party group of 18 year olds allowed to stay last min after they started Kicking door down. Headboard hanging off. Mould all around shower. Really dirty and tired hotel.
- Kathryn (2/5): Very disappointed about what we found. Would definitely not recommend this hotel. - The location was ideal for our needs Cleanliness of the bedding, cups and room were poor. There were no hosts on site, there was at least 2 weeks post behind the front door on entry which tells me owners/cleaners had not been for a while. There was no milk for a drink, inside the kettle was dirty. The information received prior to gain entry with use of key pad codes was clear. However, the room was not clean, drink cups were dirty, shower was dirty, broken and rough floor tile and broken window sill. The most important thing, the dark coloured bed sheets were certainly not clean and clearly hadn't been changed. They certainly did not smell or look clean. There was even a bug crawling on the sheets.
The pictures on the booking.com site were definitely not the same as what we found.
- tamara (1/5): AVOID!!!! - Nothing The worst part of Blackpool, when we got into the building and finally into our room well… you can tell by the pictures how disgusting this room was, there was even BLOOD on the bathroom floor please everyone avoid and hopefully booking.com will take them of their website still waiting for a refund
- Tatjana (10/5): -
- Trevor (1/5): -
- Keijzer (1/5): CLOSED DOWN SCAM - Was closed down! We didn't stay and had to book another hotel in a hurry. Everything. Closed down! Manager whatsapped after a few hours to say sorry...
- Samara (3/5): Dirty bedding and smelly bathroom. - The location was great. Only a 5 minute walk from Blackpool Tower. The bedding was not clean and the smell from the bathroom was truly disgusting. I was not expecting much as I appreciate that the price was very low for a family of 4, but I do expect clean bedding. It was clear that it hadn't been changed since the previous guests and this was on all of the beds. There were hairs and stains on both pillows and sheets.
I have never written a negative review before, as I am quite easy going and would normally turn a blind eye to things. But I felt really uncomfortable sleeping in a bed that wasn't clean and having my children in these beds too.
The smell from the bathroom was also horrendous and you could smell it from the bedroom, even when the bathroom door was closed. My children have never complained about anywhere we have ever stayed before, but both of them cried about both the smell and the beds.
- Benjamin (6/5): - Emplacement bien, en plein centre, proche de tout. Porte d'entrée avec digit code déjà ouverte et non fonctionnelle les photos embellissement l'endroit qui est un peu vieillissant.
- Kerry (1/5): Driftwood = shitwood - The price, but as they say if its to good to be true than it is The smell, the area, the building, the room.
Walked through the two front doors and a sewage smell hit us. Went into our room, the waste bin was full with someone's takeaway rubbish. The bed sheets had not been changed. The toilet had not been cleaned so someone else's feaces was still in the toilet and splash marks on the seat. The sink had something in it,dont know what it was. Didn't look else where ,we left and got a premiere inn. The area was less than desirable, felt unsafe, nowhere to park. The photos listed for the rooms do not represent what we went to(nothing like the photographs). As we arrived two lots of guests (two chaps and a ladie with kids) were walking out and not staying.
- kirsty (7/5): -
- Keira (1/5): Wouldn’t let my dog sleep there - We didn’t stay Disgusting, we walked into the premises couldn’t find the room, unable to contact anyone, we then found the room to discover it was dirty stains in the bed and hair, hadn’t been cleaned shower and floors were dirty bathroom ceiling hanging off and radiator stuck on full in a tiny room with a tiny window
- Steven (1/5): - Nothing. We weren’t able to enter the property. And nobody provided any contact details and the phone number didn’t work. Us and another party had to book alternative accommodation
- Michael (1/5): -
- Jack (1/5): I want a refund. - Easy to access, close to promenade. No heating, no WiFi, no tv. Pictures of the room compared to what they are is a total difference, my children sobbed all night they was that cold. Parties all through out the property and cannot get in touch with them at any point. No reception like it states there is and nobody answers the emergency calls, NEVER AGAIN.
- Jade (1/5): Rubbish service - Nothing The place wasn't even open. I wasn't the only person who had booked and was left without a room. Took ages for someone to answer the phone who theb said it had been taken over by someone else. Luckily I had more money to book another room elsewhere or we'd of had to go back home! Someone did contact me like 2hrs later but that was no good! It was freezing outside!
- Brown (5/5): Clean and good location but poor support from the owners management and no instructions about hearing WiFi or process to - Location and clean No contact from property when called them and queried room as emails were all wrong and spent ages checking key safe boxes. A noisy group of woman and children were creating noise till early hours with complaints of bed bugs and some lads were unable to access the property. No written information in rooms of who or what to do for tv or WiFi and had a little girl so wasn’t quite the relaxing break needed.
- Emma - Louise (1/5): -
- Kayleigh (1/5): Disgusting - Nothing, was dirty and not well maintained at all We were horrified at the state of the rooms, really run down and dirty. We were part of a big group that stayed and were disgusted to find the beds had bedbugs. We had to get our children up at 1.30 in the morning and find somewhere else to stay. Walking through Blackpool at 1.30am with all our belongings and children. Not impressed at all. The place needs reporting to environmental health!
- Crissy (1/5): We didn’t stay due to bed bug infestation. - Location The property is infested with bed bugs and we were unable to stay. One child has been bitten numerous times and we had to leave the property at 1:30am.
- Kayleigh (8/5): Incredible value for money - Rooms were nice and clean, easy check in and check out and great location
Good communication and easy to contact if any issues or questions A few electrical and plumbing issues, but nothing major, and nothing that affected the stay at all. Was easy to contact to inform the staff to resolve.
- Gavin (7/5): -
- Jon (1/5): Disaster - Nothing The smell in the hallway which lead into the room. Bathroom had a funny smell , which my son would be next too as he was out put on a floor bed .
Not as advertised on the photo as bed was a put up bed and not actual bed.
We decided not to stay and checked out within hours .
- Rodgers (3/5): - Nothing at all Everything
- Gillian (4/5): Wouldn’t stay here again. - The bed flat had broke at the bottom of the bed. False nail on the floor in the bathroom. Noisy guests coming in early hours. Front doors were never locked so you could use the pin to get in. Not great for security. Decor is nothing like shown in the pictures.
- Fatai (7/5): -
- Frances (10/5): Very enjoyable was comfortable to felt safe and everything you need practically on doorstep - It was great location really easy checking in/out free wi/fi also smart television kids loved it reception area I really have no complaints but would of liked somewhere to smoke as I felt I was putting people off if they where entering with kids ect wee lick of paint on outside building would really make it stand out
- Ruby (10/5): -
- Hayley (8/5): -
- Ciaran (9/5): We used this hotel as a one night stop gap on are way to LEGOLAND, and to be fair if I was coming to staying in Blackpoo - Easy access to everywhere
Clean tidy and warm at a very respectable price
- Ryan (9/5): -
- Sunny (9/5): -
- Kayleigh (8/5): If you’re looking for somewhere cheap but comfortable this hotel does the trick , would absolutely stay again - The gentleman running this hotel was lovely couldn’t do enough for you Honestly no complaints great value for money
- Katie (9/5): Lovely service from owner clean and tidy - Location was perfect
Rooms were clean
Beds comfortable
Owner helpful and lovely
- Godfrey (10/5): -
- Jolanta (7/5): - Friendly staff Location
- Craig (9/5): - Room and facilities was amazing really comfortable and peaceful The TV didn't work lol it was just audio had to talk to wife haaaa
- John (1/5): So not stay here - Location was good Not safe at all Somone tried to break into our room while asleep owner didn’t do anything
- Gary (5/5): -
- Syeda (7/5): Great location. If you’re on a budget then it’s great - The location is great paid parking nearby. Very close to the town centre and the beach. Rooms were good for the price we paid. Bathroom a bit small but clean and tidy so. Not too bad.
- Danaii (8/5): -
- David (7/5): Pleasant - Clean Too small
- Laila (1/5): -
- Escolastica Miguela (9/5): -
- Paul (2/5): Absolutely disgusting - We first entered the room did not too bad very standard but the money we paid wasn’t too bothered. The bathroom was way too small in room two when we got back from the day we noticed lots of blood slats on the bed then to move the covers and noticed lots of bed bugs and I don’t mean one or two there was over 10 spotted crawling up the walls and in the bedsheet
- Darren (6/5): -
- Rebecca (7/5): Location ideal and friendly staff - Location great, very close to the centre. Beds very comfortable and easy 'check in' No kitchen equipment so kitchen area couldn't be used. Food wrappers behind beside tables and bedside socket wasn't fixed to the wall. Also sensor light kept going off in bathroom - annoying when your showering. Hot/cold tap were also opposite in the bathroom.
- Bradley (10/5): Great location, clean & tidy. Very cosy, nice staff! Would recommend - It was lovely and cosy, amazing location and very nice neat clean rooms with all the amenities you’d need for a family! Check in and check out was super easy and the male staff member was really nice and welcoming!
- ryan (1/5): 1/10 - Room was horrible dirty bins still full beds not made bugs on bed.
- Joanne (1/5): DO NOT STAY IN THIS PROPERTY IT IS FILTHY AND UNMANAGED. - The place was disgusting, it hadn’t been cleaned, people had been in our room before and everything was still everywhere without being tidied or cleaned, beer cans lying around and the beds unwashed still a mess from where others had clearly left from the morning. It stunk, everyone’s room was the same as we met others in the hall who said the exact same thing, I was there for my daughters birthday and we had to travel back home the same night because we were not sleeping in that room. Tried to contact the owners to ask for a refund and have been consistently ignored. Nobody works in the building, there’s a curtain with hundreds of rubbish bags piled up as you walk downstairs. The worst experience and a birthday weekend in Blackpool ruined. - Sue (7/5): - The bathroom smelt really bad of blocked drains
- Joanna (8/5): For the price it’s a steal. And was a last minute booking too.rooms are really nice - It’s pretty central. And you can come and go as u please as it’s just a self check in room. 2 minutes from the pier and most activities The stairs are a killer. And the walls are pretty thin.
- Rowan (8/5): - Comfortable beds, good size room
- Erik (1/5): - There was bed bugs on the bed it was disgusting
- Kymberley (1/5): - Nothing. We could not gain access to the accomodation Do not book this property. We arrived and were unable to gain access. After 1 hour, Someone who was staying there long term let us in to stand in the foyer. No reception staff, none of the phone numbers worked and even the person staying there long term said they do not have a contact number for the owner. Apparently it has been taken over. I do not believe anything I was told
- Chi-Lien (7/5): Good value stay - The location was great, not too far from anywhere. The beds were clean and comfortable and the room was warm, no issues with hot water either. Checkin and check out process was easy. We stayed in the family room and found the toilet was slow at refilling when it needed to be flushed and the automatic light might go out when you're in the bathroom e.g. showering.
There was confusion from the Driftwood in regards to our booking, they texted me asking me where the room key was in the locked family room (I am assuming they thought we had checked out or booked less nights) they entered into the room one day earlier than what I had originally booked for, luckily I didn't leave any valuables out but it made me paranoid that they might of went through our belongings.
However for the low price, it wouldn't put me off from staying here again.
- Robert (8/5): very good accommodation very clean - no breakfast just booked the room had to wait outside 30 mins till the owner came to let us in
- Alexandru (1/5): -
- Callum (4/5): I walked in looked around, grabbed my stuff and went and booked an hotel round corner - No,towels, bathroom was flooded, room was freezing with no heating, beds was pure spring,tv was round corner from my bed
- Thomas (1/5): Disgusting and very distressing and very dirty - The pictures on booking . Com were not part of this hotel I have contacted booking .com but had no reply. It was dirty and smelly and had a family living in the basement. The man came to the door wearing a vest and flip flops and smelt very bad and there was his flu all over the property and in the room we stayed in there was clothes on wardrobe and food left on fridge clearly the family lived here and rented this on the side. The bathroom was dirty and the bedding made us itch. It was the worst stay on Blackpool Ime and my family have had. And I was disappointed that booking.com can let a place use false images
- Mihir Bhusawalkar (1/5): - Room was good in size Not clean at all . Something in the bed kept biting us at the end of our check out .
- Rebecca (3/5): Disappointed - Location Holes in the walls. Stained bedding. Dirty walls. Cold. Didn’t look anything like the pictures on booking.com
- Stephen (3/5): -
- Rasa (9/5): -
- Carol (6/5): -
- craig (6/5): -
- alexHodg (2/5): - It had 2 beds, running water and a tv. That was positive Drug users outside, paper thin walls, rubbish under the bed, in need of a serious clean and update. Looks nothing like the pictures. Also there was no bedside lamp, there's no way of stopping the bathroom light from turning on in the middle of the night. It still has the old name everywhere so it was hard to find. Checkout is 10 not 10:30. Felt unsafe and uninviting but we were too tired to drive back home.
- Karolina (1/5): -
- Simon (10/5): - It was big enough to sleep me and my 4 small children The room had rubbish from another stay, and there was a strong smell of sewage.
- billie jo (1/5): - I liked the location it was lovely and quiet The room was filthy and smelt of urine
- OZB (1/5): -
- Uldis (7/5): -
- Holly (1/5): -
- Naseem (8/5): - People is very kind.\n Very helpful. Shower a bathroom is a Too tiny.
- Dele (3/5): Caution advised - The location is near Central Pier and town centre. Also had Netflix available. Room had bare necessities and I mean bare. Cheap does not even describe it. Hairs everywhere. The bed covers and sheets were threadbare and just thrown together. I paid for 3 nights but left after just one. I went to Central Tower hotel in Albert Road FY1. Same price but sooo much more put together. They had towels (2), soaps, disposable slippers, biscuits, hot chocolate sachets and even a mini sewing kit!
There's more I could say about Driftwood Rooms but that's enough. Would not recommend unless you're desperate for a roof over your head.
- Denice (6/5): Ok for one night. Owners pleasant and great communication - Great location Room was very different to the pictures. Needs a good revamp
- Connar (8/5): -
- Carley (7/5): Easy to access and very cheap. - It’s was cheap and good value for money. Noisy neighbours but that’s not the hotels fault
- Charlotte (1/5): Horrific, unhygienic, not fit for purpose - Close to Blackpol Tower and Winter Gardens The room was very worn and tired. Carpet on the floor was like office tile carpet. Smashed floor tiles im bathroom, not safe for adults to walk on never mind my 7 year old daughter. Bathroom window wouldnt close so left a draft and bugs entering in the middle of December. Lock on hotel room door was a flimsy public toilet door style lock- not safe at all, could easily be broken into. Single bed was wonky, wooden slats all broken. Dust on bed frame, cobwebs hanging from ceiling/lights. Fitted sheet on the double bed was very worn, old and bobbled. Upon further inspection it had BLACK HAIRS entwined in the fibres!!! Requested a change of sheet from Reception and I was asked to change it myself... slightly taken aback but i agreed and SO glad i did because as i removed the fitted sheet the mattress topper underneath was BLOOD STAINED!! Not fit for anybody, completely unhygienic... infection control would have a field day here. Requested a refund straight away an checked out at 11.20pm to face an hour and half drive home with our young daughter.
Advertised as Driftwood Rooms on booking.com but the sign on the front of the hotel is actually called High Tide Hotel... also on booking.com so they are advertising the same hotel under two different names, same address 10 Charnley Road?! Not sure if this is allowed?!- notified booking.com who are investigating. Images advertised look bright, airy and clean however the complete opposite when you check in, its dark, dingey and dirty. Save yourself the stress and just go home. Its a real shame that there is no option to give zero stars on booking.com
- Ryan (8/5): -
- Stephenson (8/5): Good stay. Enjoyed. - Great location, comfortable stay.
- Lucy (8/5): Value for money and great location for accessing all of the main attractions in Blackpool. - Great communication with staff, room was clean, beds comfy and facilities in the room were good.
