Drew2019 (4/5): Disappointing - private room. Hot water sometimes. Nothing in the area. Charged twice as much as Uber for a ride.
Linda (9/5): Hidden gem with great host - Matthew and his family were amazing hosts and went above and beyond to help us and provide delicious vegan food. The room was spacious with a balcony where you could see Kilimanjaro through the trees. Also had a big bathroom. Def recommend Hard to find location but he may offer a ride from the airport
Monique (10/5): Exceptional - We had a nice room upstairs. The family lives at the groundfloor. For only 10 USD pp they cook for you. The owner Matthew is very kind and offers all kind of excursions for a fair price. He took us to Arusha NP and to Lake Duluti and arranged everything.
Justin (9/5): Beautiful, unique, local homestay experience in Shangarai supported by great staff! - The room was very comfortable and clean. The property is located in a beautiful area, lovely nature surroundings and mountain views. Mathew is a fantastic and accommodating host and tour guide who made our stay effortless. He helped us arrange transport and activities, and always made sure we were well taken care of. All of the food was delicious as well. Mathew has a lovely family and overall this is a great local experience that we gladly recommend! Thank you Mathew and the rest of the team :) Wifi did not really work for the duration of our stay.
Marzanna (10/5): We had a lovely time exploring the beautiful surroundings of Arusha. We will be happy to return. - A perfect location for people who love peace and greenery. Birds woke me up in the morning, cicadas put me to sleep in the evening. Very friendly and helpful hosts, good food. The owner drives a taxi, picks you up from the airport, takes you to places of your choice and recommends what to see. Very clean apartment. I recommend it with all my heart. Everything was great.
