Guest Reviews
- Ciaran (5/5): Basic and filled the need. - I couldn't eat the food which was provided due to dietary requirements but had to then supply my own food, I found it somewhat strange that I never saw the host again, even when leaving and I could only make myself a tea downstairs where I felt I was intruding.
- Abrego (9/5): Nice location with plenty to do. - The hosts were very friendly and helpful for traveling advice. Nothing in particular.
- LOIS (10/5): I loved staying here very much, and the location is fabulous for venturing out to many different pla - The hosts were very kind, warm, welcoming people. I enjoyed our conversations very much. I felt completely safe and well cared for here, as a solo traveling older woman. The bed was very cozy and I slept fantastic. I highly recommend this lovely home away from home. Bernie, thanks for all the extra treats, you are so sweet.

- chris (8/5): You need a rental car because it’s 1 1/2 hours from Dublin, very nice couple to talk to and great tips for the area - Country setting, quite, very friendly Bed mattress could better
- Brendan (8/5): -
- Mark (10/5): Hosts are very helpful and room is very clean - Michael and Bernie couldn’t have been more helpful, comfortable beds for a good night’s sleep
- Marcel (10/5): -
- ann (7/5): - Location was good.
Friendly host. Lodge didn't meet expectations.
- Amanda (10/5): - Everything. Very pleasant stay. 10/10. Nothing. It was perfect
- Roman (10/5): -
- Hilda (8/5): I was very satisfied with the offering. Amd will return when I get the chance - Not, the "full Irish," but very adequate and healthy. And in line with expectation for price. No real complaints. Bed was a little harder than I am used to. But no sleep deprivation!
- Barry (10/5): - Bernie and Michael are part of a hospitality that I have never experienced outside Ireland, a hospitality that may be disappearing even in Ireland. It is the real, old hospitality of 'a hundred thousand welcomes', the 'céad mile fáilte', that speaks from the heart. And I hope my children and grandchildren will be able to experience it sometime in the future also. So, from the heart aswell, thank you both for a wonderful stay. ...

- Birgit (10/5): Like others said before: it feels like home - The house is fairly new, from 2009 the owner told me, and thus in pretty good condition. Also it was built for the purpose of a bed & breakfast and so it doesn’t feel like the private bathroom that comes with all the rooms (I figure) is crammed in. In fact I think the bathroom was the best of it together with the soft towels.
Location-wise: I visited to castles while I stayed there. Birr castle that’s still inhabited and not open for visitors - their garden is quite large but I’ve seen better. The other castle - Leap castle doesn’t look like much from the outside. Half of it is fallen in… but the owner is fixing it up bit by bit. He tells you the story of the castle and he lets you explore the upper rooms on your own. Mind they don’t open on Sundays. I’m not sure how many guest rooms they have, but mine looked out to the street. And what a busy and noisy street it was. A real pity. Although the driveway to the house is rather long the passing cars were so loud that I used earplugs - had to
