Guest Reviews
- Juha (10/5): Super clean and cozy place with superb breakfast, extras for small kids - Extremely friendly person received us on the reception, super clean room & shower/toilet and common areas, superb breakfast and interesting environment in the middle of the village in this old primary school (I assume). Our kids are over 20 yrs but with small kids there's a sandy area on the yard, equipped with steel structured toy excavators that they can sit on and move some sand. There's also a real vintage wheel bulldozer to check out. Our kids would have loved all that when they were below school age.
- Binsu (10/5): Exceptional - Very big room space. Too big :)
- Robin (10/5): Exceptional - Rooms are spacious, facing the right direction for auroras, kitchen well equipped. The team there is the best, we got stuck on the ice road with our car and they quickly came to help us, thanks again !!
- Felix (10/5): Exceptional - We were told that the lodge used to be a school until 2020 and was only recently turned into a place to stay the night. You can realy feel the school vibes in the building still. Our room used to be the teachers lounge and it was very spacious with a small kitchen and two seperate toillets and a shower and even an entrance area to hang our coats and shoes. There was also a public kitchen and dining area we could use to cook our dinner which we bought in the local small supermarket. The lady who check us in and served us breakfast was very friendly and used to go to the school herself back in the day. Everything felt very uncomplicated and authentic. Overall the value for money was amazing and the experience was very unique - i can definitely recommend a stay here!
- Linda (10/5): Exceptional - Good breakfast. Great view from our room. Really spacy room. Very friendly and helpful owner.
- Mark (10/5): Exceptional -
- Peeter (7/5): Good -
- Nicky (9/5): Superb -
- Aditya (9/5): Friendly staff, clean & equipped rooms and kitchen - This place was surprisingly well kept and the staff over there is just lovely and friendly. It felt like a family business where attention is given to the small details. The room was clean, kitchen well equipped. I enjoyed this place. Also, decent coffee that was free! Thank you! :) Nothing in particular! If I'm cherry picking, I would say that the surroundings looked a bit deserted and makes you think that the place might not be that great, but once you're in, its very pleasant. Then again, it's not a mistake of this place but in general this area is sparsely populated.
- Ottilie (10/5): Charming stay in beautiful surroundings with a lovely host - great value, recommended for families! - Lovely host, very responsive and kind. The rooms (one twin room, one supreme) were cozy and lovingly furnished with a beautiful view. Both rooms, bathrooms and all linen/towels/etc were spotlessly clean. The kitchen had every appliance you might need and then some. We had breakfast from the accommodation and otherwise made our own food. Snacks were available for purchase. We can especially recommend this accommodation for families with kids, as there is a very nice playground on the premises.
This is a hidden gem and overall great value for money! Nothing
- Wimpie (6/5): Pleasant -
- Nicola (10/5): One night stop driving back from Norway to Oulu with nice surprises - The host is amazing, very nice and welcoming, willing to entertain you and explain all the details and offers the place has. Huge rooms obtained by converting an old school into an hotel with common kitchen and dining areas. Bathroom are somehow very basic and old fashion, but all the areas are SPOTLESS clean! You can tell the owner really cares about her business and love the place. Wifi works, free open air parking and plenty of silence and calm around to witness northern lights if you are lucky. Just come with your shopping done and don't expect any restaurants or supermarkets around the corner.
- Christian (9/5): Superb -
- Carissa (10/5): An amazing way to experience Sweden like you’re a local - My stay was amazing! Lotta, the host was so kind, welcoming and accommodating to make the stay everything I wanted. The best part about staying here is the ease and quality of the available activities/excursions. I tried snow shoeing, snowmobiling and I highly recommend the fire hut with traditional food as well as the outdoor sauna! What an experience! You don’t have to worry about searching to find activities at different places it is all at one place, straight from your room!
- Nicolò (9/5): Superb -
- Jordan (10/5): Exceptional -
- Chloe (8/5): Very good -
- Samuel (10/5): The building is a renovated old school and has plenty of room. The room we got was really cozy, clean, well set up and t - The rooms were great, and very clean. Lotta’s artworks were beautiful and brightened the place up. The kitchen was excellent and the common areas were tastefully decorated. The view from our window looked out towards the river which was lovely. There was nothing we did not like.
- Freddie (6/5): Good location too stay at on our trip to Three-Country Cairn -
- Iina (9/5): Superb - This was a nice and quiet place with clean, cozy and large room. Breakfast was excellent, a small buffet was served just for us at the time we wished. Very nice and welcoming owner! -
- Teemu (8/5): Nice one night stay - Nice, cozy and clean room. Great bed.
- Asa (8/5): an overnight stay to make transit across the north easier - friendly and helpful upon arrival. very clean, easy parking and good amenities no kitchen/restaurant yet but full kitchen to cook in
- Nina (8/5): It was friendly, warm and comfortable stay. -
- Laura (10/5): Exceptional - We had a great stay at Kuttainen Lodge! Lotta and her husband are really nice and welcoming hosts which made us feel right at home! They're actually renovating the town‘s old school to turn it into a hostel. The place also still has the charm of an old school, which we found quite entertaining. Our room was clean and comfortable with a lovely view. We highly recommend Kuttainen Lodge for a unique and welcoming place to stay. We'd love to visit again!
- Florin (10/5): Exceptional - Really good place to watch Aurora from the room. Nothing.
