• roger winder (10/5): Huge property that felt like home - The accommodation was like a home away from home. A tastefully designed whole, big apartment with a huge kitchen, a 'living room', big bedrooms and 2 bathrooms, and a rooftop swimming pool! Galle Fort was a 10-minute walk away, the bus and train stations even nearer, and there were quite a lot of eateries nearby. Not a major issue but the sign for the property was not too obvious--we drove past once.

• Daniel (10/5): Amazing place to stay with such lovely staff - We stayed here for 3 weeks and it was great. The apartment was excellent with great rooms, comfy beds and great bathroom. The staff were very friendly and cleaned our rooms often. Location was great too and the rooftop pool was a cool feature. There was minimal kitchen equipment however there was a hob so you could cook if required.
• Simon (8/5): Very convenient, spacious and close to everything. - The location is excellent. It is close to the bus station and very close to the tourist spots in the old city (a very short tuk-tuk ride or even walk away). The pool on the roof is fabulous - really welcome after a hot day. There are plenty of restaurants in the old town, but I would really highly recommend grabbing food from the numerous vendors by the bus station. Great for breakfasts or dinners. The apartment itself is very spacious and clean. The kitchen could perhaps use a little TLC but it is functional (and you probably won't do any cooking anyhow !). It would be helpful to have a few clothes hangers as well - they cost nothing but there were none in the apartment. As a last note, you may read it is hard to find, but in fact there is a large silver sign outside with the Wonmi name on it - so that helps if you remember to look. The access is indeed, however, through the garage below - elevator on the right. Kitchen could use a little TLC. Clothes hangers would have been useful.
• Geoffrey (2/5): Very disappointing, did not meet expectations. - Location and the swimming pool. Bed sheets were stained, stains on upholstery, water could not be regulated,you either had hot or cold depending on the time of day, the electricity went off and we could not exit the building as the stairs were permanently blocked which could be disastrous if a fire was to break out, lights were strobing/flashing and were not replaced, simply unscrewed thus reducing the light intensity, and the television did not work on arrival.

• Jonathan (7/5): Modern, spacious and comfortable hotel with pool - Lots of space, very comfortable beds. Nice staff, particularly the security man/caretaker. Pool on roof was nice, but water was cold - not their fault, just the weather. Market and restaurants and bakeries close by to pick up breakfast items. Location was ok, but not great. May not be suitable for some visitors as it is around a 10-15 minute walk to the Galle Fortress around some busy roads and bus station.

• Sabina (10/5): Wonderfull apartment with a kind manager - We stayed at the two-bedroom/two bathroom apartment and it was wonderful. The apartment was spacious, very clean, had a kitchen with the basics so we could have a breakfast and coffee in the morning. There was a great pool on the top floor and the kind manager left it open a little longer so we could enjoy a cool swim after a long warm day. The apartment building also had a secure garage that we used to park our tuk tuks. The building is located in a vibrant neighbourhood with shops, bakeries and restaurants further up the street. Everything was perfect.

• Marine (6/5): Je ne recommande pas ! Cher pour que ce c'est - Lit très confortable, logement propre, grand espace, bien équipé côté cuisine. Piscine sur le toit avec possibilité de se poser. Extrêmement bruyant !! Soirée dans l'appartement au dessus de minuit a 4h du matin ... Pas pu dormir (je suis évidemment allée voir ces messieurs pour leur demander plus de calme) et aucune réponse de l'hébergement (sollicités via Booking et WhatsApp) : le lendemain le manager nous dit qu'il s'agit du numéro marketing sauf qu'il l'avait contacté via Booking lui même ... Nous n'avons pas eu d'eau chaude (il fallait activer une machine mais nous n'étions pas au courant). Toilette qui fuyait (voir photo). Et manager très intrusif !! Le matin nous le croisons il nous rappelle qu'on doit rendre la chambre a midi et nous demande si nos sacs sont prêts ... (Il était 10h) Nous devions donc rendre la chambre a midi : a 11h45 il clenche notre porte d'entrée ! (Qui était fermée a clés), puis de nouveau a 11h55... Bref a 118 dollars la nuit on s'attendait a autre chose !

La ubicación es un poco menos práctica, ya que está más alejado de la zona de restaurantes y del fuerte, pero si eso no es un problema, es una muy buena opción.

Facilities were good although we had only a short stay and so did not cook in the flat but the kitchen was well equipped. Good hot walk in showers. Nice having a swimming pool but there is not much protection in the pool. Very spacious quality spaces Although excellent we thought that perhaps it was not value for money for us as a family considering other Sri Lankan places.

• Johannes (8/5): Heel groot opgezet. Mega appartement - Echt een super mooi appartement. Wij hadden de blauwe. Zijn nog drie kleuren. Heel ruim opgezet. Twee aparte slaapkamers (heel groot), een keuken met een eigen watertap (drinkwater), woonruimte met tv. Overal airco’s. Op loopafstand van het centrum. Heel erg ruim opgezet. Zwembad is echt klein. Niet dat het niet beviel maar echt voor even een duik en niet om uren te verblijven.

Er is geen uitzicht in het appartement , maar op het dak terras (bij het zwemba) heb je juist een mooi overzicht van de omgeving.

• Gareth (9/5): Great location to Galle Fort and local transport. - The room was bigger than we expected. The kitchen was handy and the beds comfortable. The distance to the bus stop and train station were very close. We walked to the Galle Fort easily a number of times from the property. Lots of cheap food options near by. The residence seemed quite new and they were still working out some of the kinks. The elevator worked from the basement but not from the ground floor. There was no hairdryer but the bathroom was excellent apart form that.

• Samar (9/5): A small island in the middle of the hectic city life. - Everything is new and corresponds completely to the pictures. There is a beautiful, clean pool on the roof, as shown in the pictures. The hotel is located in the centre of town. The hotel manager is incredible; he takes care of everything immediately and tries to make sure everyone is happy. He also organised breakfast for us, even though we arrived very early in the morning. This is just a minor criticism at the highest level, but it would be nice to have a drinks machine or something similar up by the pool.

• Niall (5/5): It should have been great, but lots of negatives for the price - The place is huge, very spacious and very high ceilings, lots of room for 6 people. Beds are huge. The pool is nice, as is the rooftop space. The location is fine, very close to the train station and easily walkable into the Fort areas. Concierge/attendant was helpful and dealt with the problems we raised to them (kettle and dead batteries in TV remote) quickly Per other reviews, read them, there were a few problems which I wouldn't expect for what we paid for the stay. - The main AC in the living area didn't work, this was in a previous review. The problem is exacerbated by the fact that the living area has a big glass wall behind which are the AC units for the other apartments. They generate a lot of heat, so the living area was roasting, although when I asked about the AC unit we were offered a fan. The other problem was that those AC units behind the glass were very very noisy. I took a video of the noise but I can upload it. - One of the bedrooms suffers from this noise too as it is right next to the main living area. Whilst there is an ensuite between the bedroom and the AC units, there is only a taped cover in one corner over a window I think, which doesn't block out the noise. See photo. - There is a leak in the basin plumbing in the ensuite, so whenever you use the basin, water leaks across the floor, reporting regular mopping or wet socks if you forget. This appears to be a known problem as there was a mat on the floor by this basin. See photo. - The showers didn't have hot water. In one shower we couldn't get the electric shower to give any warm water at all, in the other we did but it was lukewarm. Also no shower gel etc. Minor point, but at this price? - The kettle didn't work, this was due to the plug being stuck in the socket because it had melted, due to arcing in the socket, if you pushed the plug into the socket, it crackled. This is dangerous wiring. The attendant managed to prise the plug out and gave me a new kettle as soon as I raised it, but the wiring needs checking. See photo. - Building work going on other floors, so drilling starts at 9.05am. It's very loud. Not the apartments fault, but just so you know. - Per other reviews you have to pay when you check-in, which I've never had to do before. I wonder why.
• Therese (8/5): - Fint basseng og leilighet. Vann lekker inn i gangen når det regner. Mange av spotenr står og blinker hele tiden. Vi sa fra og da koblet de ut noen lys men fortsatt flere som blinket. Gata er travel og litt utrivelig.

• Diego (7/5): - El apartamento es muy grande y de diseño actual. Camas muy cómodas y excelente ubicación a 5 minutos del fuerte. Piscina genial Es ascensor se estropeó con nosotros dentro. Fueron 5 minutos pero nos sorprendió. En una habitación el aire acondicionado no lo podíamos poner porque emitía un zumbido insoportable. El interruptor del ventilador de la cocina empezó a echar humo al estar 5 minutos encendido.

• Rafał (10/5): Fantastycznie! - Duży apartament, duże, ładne łazienki. Wszystko co potrzebne na wyposażeniu. Sklepy boisko, do fortu 10 min piechotą. Bardzo fajny basen na dachu, w którym można złapać nieco orzeźwienia.

Docce senza box, si allaga tutto il bagno. Aria condizionata solo nelle camere. L'ascensore non è ancora funzionante. Difficile da trovare per i taxisti. Saponette già usate in bagno.
• Cahli (7/5): Good stay option for family or two couples. - Extremely spacious and clean. Close to Galle International Cricket Ground, Galle Forte and shops for basic needs if walking. The air conditioning units stopped working whilst we were out to dinner however the management were onto it straight away and offered us another apartment to sleep. Little things like a hairdryer, air rack, dish drainer and tea towel would be helpful.

• Douglas (9/5): Nice apartment in Galle - Very good location for exploring Galle - not too far from the Fort - very modern feel and the rooms were large and spacious - staff were very helpful with luggage and allowing us to stay by the rooftop pool until our transfer arrived after checkout time. Wifi here was very good People coming here - should know that the property is up quite a few stairs and we also some lightbulbs in the property that were constantly flickering, also some of the kitchen equipment could do with updating but all in all a nice property and we enjoyed our stay

• Annika (10/5): Large apartment with great staff and perfect location - We were greeted by Mark on our arrival and he was so happy and welcoming! He showed us to our apartment which was so much larger than we thought! He had also gone to special effort to decorate one of the rooms for our Honeymoon! It was so touching and lovely. They were really helpful with anything we needed and the apartment was in such a good location, we could walk everywhere! The doorman also looked after us even after hours. We never waited too long for the gate to be lifted even after returning late. We will absolutely be staying again!

• Amy (10/5): - We had a great 3 night stay at Wonmi Residency. A very warm welcome from the very friendly and helpful staff. Great location near the bus station and within easy walking distance of Galle Fort. The apartment itself was super spacious and the rooftop pool was lovely! Lots of the ceiling lights flicker on/off, so we either didn't use them or used the wall lights instead. Not a major complaint but something that should be fixed!

The beds were comfy and bathrooms were spacious. The kitchen was well equipped too. The night watchman was quick to react to the bell to enter and exit out of hours. Only a 10 minute walk to the Fort area and 2 minutes to the bus and train station. Also a fantastic rooftop pool that we seemed to be the only ones using! Great old hotel and bar round the corner called The Sydney Hotel. Bakerys around the corner too!!! Nothing
• Jotham (7/5): - The flat is relatively new in a good location, close to the fort and bus services. The air-conditioning is very weak and the apartment was very very hot and unpleasant. The bathrooms were not clean enough. The ceiling light were flickering all over the flat. The flat was located on the 3rd floor without a lift.
• Dawson (10/5): - The on site host was most welcoming and obliging. The location was perfect for the Fort and Cricket ground and being on the 3rd floor took you away from the noise of the city. The apartment itself was amazing. Spacious, well appointed, imaginatively decorated and comfortable. Can't praise it enough. Nothing!
• Thihan (9/5): - Great location just behind station opposite the cricket ground. Easy walk into Gale Fort. Apartment was huge with excellent A/C. Lovely pool area.

• HENAR (5/5): - Spacious apartment nicely designed The living room has an interior glass window where all building compressors are located. It's loud and even with the bedroom.doors closed you hear the vibration. Not good sleep
• Binari (6/5): Beautiful place, But DIRTY sheets - The place was amazing. Big, spacious and beautiful. We were in awe of the place until we noticed alot of brown stains (looks alot like blood) on the sheets. This was there in both the rooms, 3 out of 4 beds had stained sheets and we had to request them to be changed. It was extremely disappointing when the caretakers gave excuses and blamed the "locals" who book and dirty up the place, also the "foreigners" who apparently smudge sunscreen on the sheets which makes them dirty. They went on to blame the laundry and everything else instead of taking initiative and responsibility for what happened.

• Kristine (10/5): Perfect - everything was perfect, very clean, good location, you can walk to the Galle Fort, the kitchen was clean, beautiful and clean dishes (which is rare), a perfect bathroom, a comfortable bed, there is a pool on the roof, I can't say anything bad at all and I highly recommend it as a very good place to stay in Galle.

• James (8/5): Great value for Galle - The apartment was very spacious and comfortable. The staff were incredibly helpful and friendly. We found the price reasonable for the area and it’s just a short walk into the fort. Well located for bus and train station. Per previous reviews, there are a number of stairs and it’s very hot getting up there! It’s a bit confusingly both tired (leaking ac) and unfinished at the same time. It’s in a commercial building.
• Prasanna (5/5): - The apartment was clean and tidy, offering a pleasant environment for a short stay. The beds were reasonably comfortable, and the kitchen was equipped with some basic facilities for cooking, which was convenient. Positives: Clean and well-maintained apartment. Adequate kitchen with basic cooking essentials. Comfortable beds for a restful sleep. There were several disappointments during my stay. The property description mentioned a restaurant on the premises and breakfast served in the room, but neither was available. When I inquired about this, the owner was extremely rude and unprofessional and asked us to leave the property. Even at the time of writing this review breakfast and restaurant is mentioned in the property description. The toiletries provided were minimal – just two towels and a single soap wrapped in tissue paper, which gave the impression of being reused. Additionally, at check-in, I was asked to pay the full amount upfront before even viewing the room, which felt unusual and unwelcoming. The rooms were given on the third floor and the property doesn't have the elevator. Also there was water slippage due to rain. On a positive note, the manager, Amitha, and the staff were polite and helpful. However, the incorrect property details and the owner's very poor communication skills can significantly impact the overall experience. This property has potential but requires better management and customer service to meet guest expectations.
