• Chantal (10/5): Bel appartement avec vue - C’est aussi beau que sur les photos. Du caractère et beaucoup d’espace. Et surtout, la vue sur les sassi de la fenêtre et de la terrasse. L’hôte a aussi repondu très rapidement à mes questions.

Los servicios brindados, por ejemplo el frigobar y la cafetera muy buenos. La vista soñada. Dormir fue difícil ya que se escuchó toda la noche ruido de agua proveniente del inodoro. A su vez, la cama “para dos” en realidad eran 2 colchones para uno, unidos en el medio y se separaban con el peso de los cuerpos, ya que no eran nuevos. Por el precio pagado esperábamos poder dormir mejor. No tiene wifi

Con maletas acceso reducido para personas de avanzada edad , cosa que la propietaria nunca avisó Acceso imposible de llegar complicado entre escalera piedras

L’appartement est fonctionnel. Très bien accueil par l’hôtesse avec de bonnes indications et réactive sur les questions. L’équipement de la « cuisine » est très sommaire. Nous pour 2 jours cela n’a pas posé problème (il y a suffisamment de resto autour) mais pour un séjour plus long, c’est à prendre en compte.

Clean apartment and comfortable. It would be good to have at least a small template for cooking and some basic appliances for breakfast and a sponge for cleaning the dishes. But knowing this, it is not a big deal.

• Suzanne (9/5): Private entrance with balcony and superb views. - The private entrance and balcony were superb! We really enjoyed the views and spending time on the balcony. The room was spacious and beautiful, and the bed was very comfortable. The host provided clear and detailed instructions on how to get to the room. She was communicative about check-in and very responsive about issues we had with wi-fi. It could have been stocked with more kitchen supplies. The toilet was also running very slightly all day (and night) which kept us up one of the nights. The "street" noise was very loud and unexpected so be prepared with earplugs!

• AHYUN (9/5): - 마테라를 방문했던 날 비가 많이 와서 제대로 구경을 다 못한 것 같은데 숙소뷰가 좋고 테라스 같은 곳에 앉을 수 있어서 저녁에 거기서 맥주를 마셨어요 그리고 호스트분이 굉장히 친절하고 자세하게 설명해줬어요 무거운 짐을 가지고 숙소에 가기가 힘들었어요 하지만 이건 마테라 구시가지 숙소 어느 곳을 가든 비슷할 것 같아요

• Jan (8/5): Great location, that’s about it! - Beautiful location, very spacious. Unfortunately there is a damp odour throughout the cave, maybe this should be expected, not sure, but not pleasant. Minimal kitchen utensils, not even a cloth to wipe surfaces. A crumbling ceiling, make sure you don’t place valuables or drinks in the wrong spot.

There was no air conditioning and it was very hot in our room. Even a fan would’ve been helpful, but none was provided. Very difficult to find our place . The hosted her best to get us there, but it’s very difficult with a suitcase so pack super light.

Sfeervolle kamer, alles aanwezig en goed verzorgd! Wat een pluspunt is: het uitzicht, is ook het minpunt! Je moet vanuit de piazza een afdaling van een behoorlijk aantal treden maken naar de sassi om je accommodatie te bereiken! Maar dan heb je ook wat!

• Lucia (8/5): .Matera Sassi - I loved that the apartment was in the Sassi area and the views are spectacular. The bed was comfortable firm with a soft sponge feel, it did dip on husbands side. There were options to change pillows, hi/low profile, big tick for me. We loved being at Matera, Fabiana was extremely helpful and responsive to all messages. We just felt it needed a little TLC The property was very basic and could do with a few extra mod cons. There was.very limited basic kitchenware and the cupboards hinges were broken and the doors were all dragging on the floor. No fan or air con, it was very warm when we were there and a fan would have been very handy. The bed is behind the kitchen wall with no window in the bedroom area. It does cool down eventually but if you need to have air circulation while you're asleep, there is none. The window opens in the kitchen behind the bed wall but there are no flysceens, so mozzie are a huge issue. Be prepared for a heck of a lot of stairs, declines and inclines. If your joints are no good this trek will be an issue. Getting your luggage to your room also can be a challenge. Ask lots of questions before you go..

The view was incredible and location was excellent, you just have to be a little careful of the steps on the way too the apartment. We would definitely recommend. Steps on the way into the apartment.

• Marco (9/5): Sasso d’incanto - Appartamento in piena zona sassi di Matera, con piena vista su sassi e basilica. Ambiente pulito, spazioso e con una camera da letto in grotta, veramente caratteristica della zona. Bagno grande. Appartamento molto confortevole. E l’ubicazione è veramente favolosa, in area pedonale, ma a pochi passi dalle prime strade transitabili con l’auto. Ambiente un po’ umido, ma comprensibile visto la tipica caratteristica dei sassi, e manca un angolo cottura.

Casa molto grande e con arredamento moderno in una struttura tradizionale in pietra. Bagno molto bello con doccia con porta dí vetro e pareti in pietra. Bellissimo terrazzo con tavolino privato che affaccia sui sassi. Finestra in camera molto bella che affaccia sui sassi. Letto comodo. Proprietaria molto disponibile anche nel venire incontro a richieste e dare consigli sulla città e sui ristoranti. Struttura molto pulita. Prezzo non proprio basso ma comprensibile data la posizione super centrale in mezzo ai sassi. Sempre dovuto a questo anche la mancanza di parcheggio nelle vicinanze e la necessità quindi di parcheggiare nel parcheggio custodito più vicino a 1.50 euro l’ora.

• Florian (10/5): - Das ist die perfekte Unterkunft, um Matera richtig zu fühlen! Man ist mitten in der beeindruckenden Altstadt, der Ausblick ist unglaublich und das Appartement ist ganz im Stil der traditionellen Unterkünfte gestaltet. Man staunt jedes Mal, wenn man aus dem Fenster blickt, oder auf der Terrasse sitzt. Der Eingang wäre wahrscheinlich etwas schwierig zu finden - wenn man nicht vor dem Check-in ein nettes, kurzes Video geschickt bekäme. Mit diesem Video haben wir aber sofort hin gefunden. Wir waren von Matera und von diesem Appartement begeistert und wären gerne noch länger geblieben. -

• Mascha (9/5): Very Cool! - We loved the experience of sleeping in a grotto for 2 nights. It’s in a super convenient location and the instructions on how to get there and what carpark to park were very clear. It was nice and cool in summer. Matera is beautiful for wandering around and all the drinks and restaurant recommendations were great too!

• Philippe (8/5): Un bel emplacement pour visiter Matera. - Le logement est très bien positionné dans la Ville et constitue un excellent pied à terre pour visiter. Dormir dans un sassi constitue une bonne expérience. La fraicheur de la pierre compense pour le manque de climatisation. Nous avons eu la chance d'être sur place les 1 et 2 juillet durant les festivités Della Bruna! Nous avions réservé ce logement pour les 3 lits, mais sur place il y avait de la literie que pour 2. On nous a dit que le divan lit ne fonctionnait pas alors qu'il était opérationnel. Bref, ne réservez pas en fonction du nombre de lit.

• Tomas (9/5): We had a great two days in Matera and this apartment was part of our enjoyment. - The reason to visit Matera is to see the Sassi so it’s a must in my opinion to stay in a Casa Grotta. This apartment has it all. Firstly accessible from Piazza Vittorio Veneto, (the gateway is next to the cheese shop on the passage to the Il Terrazzino restaurant.) The apartment enters via a small balcony into a large lounge/dining area with a sofa bed. The first bedroom is on the mezzanine above, the only windows are by this entrance. You then step down to a small kit he and the bathroom. There are more steps down to a large area that serves as a sitting area with a glassed over well, you then descend down into the last bedroom. Both these rooms are in manmade caves. The apartment is large and has a great location. The view from the small balcony is into the Sassi towards the Cathedral. There is parking in the multi storey car park either in Via Rocco Scotellaro (2 days €48) or the one in Via Lanera (2 days €40), both are secure the first is 5 minutes away the second 10 minutes. The only real issue is the lack of kitchen, the only facilities are a sink, fridge, kettle and a coffee machine. There is no hob or cooking equipment. The bathroom is compact but perfectly adequate.

El acceso no es apto para personas con movilidad reducida ni para quienes viajan con valijas grandes, ya que hay muchas escaleras. El alojamiento es literalmente una cueva; una de las habitaciones está en el fondo, donde no llega ni señal de celular ni wifi. El baño tenía muy mal olor y al llegar había olor a encierro. El techo se descascara constantemente, y caía polvo y pedazos sobre la cama ubicada en el piso. Además, la cocina era muy precaria.
