Guest Reviews
- Janet (10/5): A relaxing stay. Beautiful surroundings and food exceptionally delicious - Refurbished to a very high standard Having to pay for use of pool
- Edward (10/5): - The breakfast was Good, the dinner was very good. With good breakfast and evening meal a choice of light bar snacks would have been nice.
- Louise-LDG Real Estate (10/5): -
- Kevin (10/5): Very nice country hotel - Great location, friendly and professional staff, everything was well maintained and comfortable. Nothing
- Farzana (10/5): Highly recommend for a relaxing stay - Beautiful location surrounded with countryside. The room and bathroom were so big and comfortable and staff were very friendly. The pool is for adults only, which was a shame for us as we had our eight year old daughter.
- Tegan (10/5): -
- Megan (8/5): -

- Hannah (10/5): - Absolutely incredible stay. The spa is stunning and so relaxing. The whole hotel is absolutely immaculate and staff are lovely. We had dinner and breakfast, both were amazing. Couldn’t recommend enough, we can’t wait to come back!

- Valerie (6/5): Room and surroundings fab, some food not so good. - Very aesthetically pleasing and beautiful and clean.
Room was a good size with great bathroom Problems with uncooked food, service not great.
Staff member serving After dinner Drinks In the bar had no experience and we had to tell him what glass to use and how to make the cocktails!! He had no idea what he was doing!! Also came and stood near our table telling us all about his wife's illnesses! not a nice way to finish our evening!!
- Kim (9/5): -
- Rachel (9/5): I would recommend staying here.. quality service and a quality hotel - A fabulous, and beautiful hotel. I didn't get to try the spa but it looked great. The staff were professional and friendly and the food was excellent. The Suffolk setting was stunnging and the Italian style garden was totally brilliant. The only tiny niggle is that my sister and I foudn the matress of the bed a little too firm, but I expect that for some that is how their preference rolls.
- Elaine (10/5): Absolutely fabulous. - Lovely breakfast- very wide choice on menu.
- Melissa (10/5): Wonderful experience - Stunning location, delicious food, brilliant staff and a fabulous room that was very well laid out I didn't experience anything I didn't like
- Steven (10/5): -
- Charlotte (10/5): -
- Lucy (10/5): Sensational Stay in the heart of Suffolk! - Beautiful property - everything you could wish for from a night away! Stunning room overlooking the Suffolk countryside. It was decorated beautifully for Christmas. Food was delicious, both dinner and breakfast. A real must! Nothing not to like - maybe add in a mini bar to the rooms? Also a Dyson hairdryer, just add some additional touches of luxury to suit the place.
- Craig (9/5): Excellent Premises, Staff and Food. - Great location, high quality of staff training evident.
The service and quality of the food was superb. If you did not use the other facilities within the hotel, it would be easy to think the price was a tad high for the area.
- Anna (9/5): -
- Marshall (9/5): Lovely relaxing break - Beautiful property where new meets old seamlessly.
- Isabelle (10/5): Was such a relaxing break away, the facilities were all amazing especially the spa and lovely dinner - The spa facilities were absolutely great for a relaxing stay and the room was so lovely
- Colin (10/5): - Beautiful hotel with amazing grounds
- Mark (9/5): Absolutely 1st class - Stunning property throughout with a perfect blend of old and new. They’ve done a fantastic job with it
- Lionel (8/5): Great stay in a quite beautiful part of Suffolk - Lovely location with a great newly planted traditional garden and a superb view on the countryside. Very friendly staff.
Next time I'll make time for the very tempting spa. Portions for our lobster dish. If one offers the options between a whole lobster and a half lobster you could assume that the lobster in question is of a reasonable size. In such a lovely place the choice is not guided by the price of the dish.
- Victoria (10/5): - The spa is incredible and the food and rooms are lovely. We went just for one night, but would highly recommend.
- Lily (10/5): -
- Sajidha (7/5): -
- shamaine (10/5): Lovely relaxing stay would definitely recommend - Beautiful grounds, very clean hotel and smells divine. I couldn’t get connection on my TV but wasn’t much of a big deal for me.
- James (10/5): -
- Emma (8/5): Nice - Very clean and comfortable We ordered a breakfast reservation for 0730 due to a work commitment chef didn’t turn up till 0800 heard an argument going on in kitchen about start times!! No fruit or cereal just a ‘beige’ choice of breakfast. I was very stressed getting to the meeting having waited 40 mins for no food to arrive. I complained at check out.
- Bex (9/5): Superb -
- Mo (8/5): Very good -
- Sasha (10/5): Exceptional -
- Jenny (10/5): Exceptional - Beautiful buildings and location. The staff were exceptionally good. The price is expensive for us, and they charge extra, £35 pp to use the spa, £30 pp for breakfast...I think they need a cheaper option for breakfast, say a continental one.
- Taiba (10/5): Will be visiting again - Beautiful design, clean, smells great! Nothing
- Paul (10/5): Exceptional -
- Rachael (10/5): Exceptional - The room was gorgeous, the staff were so helpful. Loved it.
- Nick (10/5): Relaxed - Amazing property
- Tom (10/5): Perfect luxury get away. - The spa was exceptional and exclusive, the feel on the entire hotel was lovely. Highly recommend staying here and we will return for more stays. N/A
- Zak (10/5): Exceptional -
- Richard (7/5): Good -
- Deborah (8/5): The staff were absolutely wonderful. Extremely polite, incredibly helpful and very friendly. A real credit to the venue. - Stunning location. Witnessed the most perfect sunset followed by a diamond clear sky and an appearance from the moon and Venus.
Excellent location for Hadleigh and the surrounding Suffolk countryside. My only niggles were that my room was a little cold, the sauna in the spa wasn’t on and the outdoor pool was heated to 17 degrees, so not warm enough to swim in.
- David (7/5): Good -
- Ian (3/5): Far too over priced without the comfort or cleanliness to match - Location was good! The hairdryer was missing from the room and whilst looking the corner between the curtain and chest of drawers was filthy with rubbish and cobwebs clearly not been cleaned in a long while.
- Emily (10/5): Exceptional -
- Tony (8/5): Nice place but very overpriced -
- Jennifer (9/5): Superb -
- Cris (7/5): The spa is not included. Otherwise a lovely place and enjoyable stay. - Beautiful place, pleasant and attentive staff. Clean and well decorated. Nice location surrounded by natural beauty. Comfortable bed and rooms. The spa was very relaxing and has a nice feel to it. The spa is not included and is £35 each for a 2 hour slot. Had this been made clear when booking we would not have stayed here as the spa was the main reason we booked a night away. No steam room in the spa.
- Dean (5/5): Passable - The design, location and service After buying the best suite available and then being asked to pay £35 for a swim felt like a rip off! We did not swim
- Olive (5/5): Oversight on the cleaning staff, lovely hotel but expect more as it’s an expensive hotel.Need to up their game a little t - Lovely building and setting, the spa looked lovely. The staff were very nice, helpful and really friendly. The toilet was dirty on arrival and the coffee machine hadn’t been cleaned, the room was cold but otherwise the room was spotless.Breakfast was lovely but the French press coffee was pretty weak.
- Abigail (7/5): Wonderful views - Loved the views, and aesthetics The quality of the food could have been better. The spa was very expensive for the facilities that were provided. Cold plunge and steam room would have been a nice touch.
Aesthetically the entire place is stunning.
- Sam (10/5): Exceptional -
- Mike (8/5): Very good -
- Roma (10/5): Absolutely fantastic, the staff are amazing abs we will be back! - Warm reception from the Excellent staff who went over and above to accommodate our needs.
We were running late after work and called the hotel to try and order some food, outside of kitchen opening hours, nothing was too much trouble.
They prepared a delicious freshly made meal and delicious is an understatement!
Thank you Ali and the team as well as compliments to the chef!
The hotel itself is beautiful with stunning views to match. The was not a single thing
- Christopher (10/5): Amazing hotel and food - Amazing rooms and food Nothing
- Kate (10/5): Exceptional -
- Clare (10/5): Lovely experience - Beautiful and clean Nothing
- Shannon (9/5): Lovely staff and beautiful peaceful hotel - Absolutely beautiful room and surprised by the reasonable price. Staff were so polite professional and friendly. Restaurants, bar and outside seating area is stunning. Heaters outside allowed us to eat outside. Garden and outside area was pristine. Every detail has been considered in this hotel down to the corridors! Nice touch to have homemade cookies in the room and proper coffee machine in addition to a kettle I wasn’t impressed with the food considering the price of it. I found it just ok taste wise and overpriced. I would have liked a fridge in the room to store drinks and milk for hot drinks. There were two lamps in the room and neither worked
- Kirsty (9/5): Perfect place to come and relax with gorgeous food - It is a lovely property in stunning surroundings, a lovely feel to the place I can’t fault the property it was lovely
- Paul (10/5): Fantastic new Hotel with Great Facilities and a very Efficient Friendly Staff - Fantastic New Property Nothing Fantastic Hotel
- Lee (10/5): Absolutely superb. - Everything. Nothing.
- Shelley (10/5): From the minute we walked in the staff were so friendly. They asked us how we were and if we were there for a special oc - The property was so lovely. The decor was beautiful, it was clean, spacious, light, would definitely stay again.
- Lee (10/5): Outstanding - The location the accommodation all of it. A perfect place for the relaxed weekend getaway and chill. Nothing
- Mr (10/5): Fantastic - Beautiful hotel in beautiful grounds
Staff were all amazing. The security guy and night manager especially will definitely be back!
- Matthew (9/5): Superb - Character
Quality of finishes and furnishing
Professionalism of staff
View and location Waited just over 30 mins after ordering breakfast for it to arrive. Only 2 other diners in the restaurant.
Quality was bitterly disappointing and by no means matched the quality of food enjoyed the evening before.
- Damien (10/5): Exceptional -
- De (8/5): Very good -
- Ryan (10/5): Exceptional -
- Josh (10/5): Exceptional -
- Mark (10/5): Highly recommended - Excellent quality and very comfortable Some building work in progress but no issues
- Savannah (10/5): Exceptional -
- Haley (9/5): Superb -
- Darren (9/5): Superb -
- Andrea (9/5): We would stay again - Quirky, quality finishes We had the loft bedroom. We stayed during the winter, think dark early evenings. No mirror with a light to apply makeup, the full length mirror opposite the door may have had a socket near for a hairdryer but there is no light over that area. It was also too dark to dry my hair, see my clothes hanging on the wardrobe rail or, most importantly the steps down to them.
- Steve (10/5): Exceptional -
- Emyr (10/5): Excellent all round - Staff top drawer and lovely place to stay. Food was excellent and the tomahawk was cooked perfectly.
- Robert (3/5): Noisy and exhausting - Food was good, restaurant staff very good and the place was nicely decorated. The room we stayed in (5) was directly above a small function room where the hotel put a 30th birthday party and it was very clear there wasn’t any sound proofing. Major lack of sleep. Also felt at £250 it was very expensive, particularly when breakfast was extra.
- Jasdeep (10/5): Exceptional -
- Simon (10/5): We could not have wished for a better stay! - Fabulous staff - Excellent food in the restaurant - Really comfortable room - Attractive surroundings! Nothing to dislike!
- Nichola (9/5): Superb -
- Ryan (9/5): Superb -
- Michael (8/5): Very good -
- Richard (9/5): Perfect Location Stay to Tour local area - Nice room, friendly and helpful staff Would have liked an en-suite Bath but the shower was OK for a day or two
- Daniel (7/5): Simple but lovely - I liked that there was complimentary towels in the bathroom and air con in thr room and it was clean and tidy. It was our wedding night we got there and the night porter forstly couldn’t find our key (had been given to wrong guest), took us to get another key couldn’t find that either left us waiting on our own for ages. Luckily upgraded by manager but as we
Weren’t expected to be in that room there was no water. Sign about complimentary cookies none there. And beautiful view ruined by the building works directly outside our room. Not worth the money in my opinion. Shame as it was our wedding night very disappointed in lack of care and attention.
- Kerry (6/5): Our anniversary night. - The place was very clean and obviously had a lot of work done, be good whdn it is finished. £250 room only, room 9 was very clean but small and very hot, the fan was noisy so couldn't use it at night, road noise was also an issue. There was only a small window at floor level so absolutely no view. We didn't stay to ear at the hotel as no suitable time available so went into Hadleigh for a meal.
- Anonymous (10/5): Exceptional -
- Mark (8/5): Very relaxing and comfortable but around 40 pounds to expensive at 159 a night, plenty of building w - Bed was extra large and extra comfy No light in room one 3 foot high window at ground level, so in dark or lights on, only 6 inch moveable mirror in bathroom.
- Elena (10/5): absolutely wonderful! - Everything! Nothing was not to like!
- Thomas (10/5): Exceptional -
- Anonymous (8/5): Very good - Well equipped luxurious rooms and the restaurant and surroundings were well spaced out inside and had an outdoor terraced to sit out as well There is building works going on at the moment it didn’t affect us too much as we stayed on a weekend when there is no work going on. But the car park is the other side of the building works which can be a problem with people with mobility issues.
- Sam (9/5): Superb -
- Hicklin (10/5): Superb anniversary celebration night - Ultimate luxury in a beautiful setting excellent food and drink
- Stephen (10/5): Fantastic stay, wonderful food. - Beautiful hotel, lovely surroundings. We would thoroughly recommend a stay and enjoy a meal. Nothing.
- Fraser (8/5): enjoyable and comfortable stay and keen to come back once the building work is complete - the bed was comfortable
smelt nice
very clean
furnishings were lovely no bath
food was over priced
waiting times at busiest periods were to long
- Peter (10/5): Exceptional -
- Rod (10/5): top hotel with excellent staff - super clean and beautifully decorated nothing
- James (9/5): Superb -
- Carl (8/5): Very good -
