Highly recommend Yalung - The warm welcome, facilities and the room was superb, very comfortable. felt like home away from home. The Geyser's main switch was turned off without informing us so that we couldn't use it/ mis use it, but i told the caretaker we don't miss-use and will use just like how we would use at home. (i understand some people might misuse it, but we should be informed, was waiting for hours to take a bath thinking its a power cut or something) When i was looking to book a homestay i had filtered room with complementary breakfast but we had to pay separately for breakfast.

Rooms & washrooms were clean and staff were friendly and polite. Our host Ms. Deepika with her friendly talk made us feel at home. Food was delicious. We were asked about dinner even before we had reached Darjeeling. They prepared vegetarian food separately at our request. • Sushma (9/5): Superb - We opted this Homestay as it had pay at the property option. We received very warm welcome by the host and were offered hot world famous Darjeeling tea. We stayed for 4 nights. The place was hygienic and well maintained and very convenient to commute to local sightseeing as tourists. On request, the host cooked vegetarian, tasty and comfortable breakfast and dinner on all days. They accommodated our request to cook without mustard oil which is most common in Darjeeling cuisine. We loved their Nepali Achari Aloo and aloo fry cooked by aunty. They also guided us for local sightseeing and transport. Bishal was very humble and helped us with room services on all days. Their dining area is very pretty and hygienic. Overall it’s a very homely environment and they respect our privacy. The host ensured comfortable stay throughout. It was very sweet of them to pack us breakfast very early on the day we checked out. As it is to the road, one can expect bit of vehicle movement and so is the case with many Homestays/hotels in Darjeeling. Yalung Homestay is the one if you are looking for safe, hygienic and comfortable stay in decent budget. Thick curtains for the room would have made the stay more comfortable, specially for the Darjeeling weather

Nestled along the main street, it offered the convenience of cabs right outside the door for easy access to the bustling center, yet provided a tranquil escape for relaxation. The hosts truly shine here – their friendliness and helpfulness went above and beyond. But the star of the show is undoubtedly the view. Breathtaking vistas unfolded from rooms and balconies, making every moment truly special. The recently renovated rooms and bathrooms were impeccably clean and comfortable, offering a true sanctuary after a day of exploration. The delicious food, prepared with care and served in a charming dining area, was another highlight. The homestay provided immense value for money – a perfect combination of comfort, hospitality, and stunning surroundings. I highly recommend Yalung Homestay to anyone seeking a delightful stay in Darjeeling. The beds were on the firmer side, which some guests may find preferable for back support. Regardless, I slept soundly after a day of exploring. For the most unobstructed views of the Himalayas, an early morning wake-up call might be rewarded with a cloudless panorama.
