Guest Reviews
- Alex (8/5): - Beautiful old building, lovely gardens, friendly staff. We thought this was a hotel initially, but it’s actually a lived in country estate. You essentially get a section of the house for your stay and there are no other guests. Just something to be aware of.
Also, the shower is also not attached to the wall.
- Stephry64 (9/5): - L'accueil, le décor, le confort. Rien
Ein wunderschönes Bed and Breakfast!

- Dave (10/5): Next time I am in Carrigans, I will be hopefully staying here again, it was a delight! - Absolutely beautiful grounds, living room, and room.
- Doreen (10/5): Perfect stay for visiting the area - Very large apartment. Peaceful location yet only 10 minutes from Derry Nothing
- Dr (10/5): Exceptional -
- Jonathan (10/5): Exceptional -
- Kim (10/5): Cannot believe the price was sooooo reasonable for such an incredible place! - We loved everything about this property! It is hard to describe how amazing it is. The estate is gorgeous, the garden is unbelievable! Amelia was wonderful! We loved everything!
- Teri (10/5): Relaxing, would definitely go back - It was peaceful and absolutely beautiful
- Daniel (10/5): Exceptional welcome - Friendly welcome and excellent breakfast
- Allan (10/5): Exceptional -
- Linda (10/5): Exceptional -
- Tracey (10/5): Exceptional - The peacefulness of the grounds and surrounding area so tranquil I couldn't express this enough . Nothing
- Maggiewalsh (10/5): Exceptional - We had entire wing of the house to ourselves. Amelia was checking with us if we needed anything all the time. Place is out of this world like moving in time but it has everything you need in this modern day. We loved it and we will deffinitelly be back :)
- Ying (9/5): Superb -
- Alexia (10/5): Beautiful stay - Beautifully decorated room with a super comfortable, extra large bed. The view from the room was lovely. Amelia kindly prepared breakfast for us which was scrumptious! Nothing!
- Timothy (10/5): Perfect stay for a relaxing getaway! - LOVED everything (almost)! Amelia is amazing! She was so fun to chat with and her breakfast was YUM! We loved that she took time to share a little history about the place with us. The downstairs/upstairs suite is fabulous; felt like we had our own little home. The bed was one of the most comfortable we had during our entire Ireland vacation. We took a stroll through the gardens before we left and could only imagine how beautiful it is in the Spring. We definitely recommend staying here if you get the chance! The only downside, and it was such a small thing but a wee inconvenience, is there's only a tub with a handheld shower attachment. This is great for a nice relaxing evening bath but not so much for an early morning, getting-ready-to-go shower. Definitely not a showstopper and should we ever find ourselves back over that way, we would absolutely stay again!
- Nasrin (10/5): Beautiful Period house. Fabulous gardens! We loved the experience. Thanks, Amelia. - We loved the room and the garden!
- Donna-mai (10/5): Exceptional -
- Claire (10/5): Absolutely amazing - Amelia was lovely and so helpful, breakfast was delicious with a choice of cooked, continental or both, you were not left hungry thats for sure! The room itself was above and beyond what we were expecting, it was truely gorgeous, you can feel the history of the house and we're so grateful to Amelia for opening up her home to us for a few days. We really enjoyed our time there and will definately be back again. There wasn't anything we didn't like.
- Ciaran (10/5): Really pleasant stay , great hosts , beautiful property - Our room was very spacious, warm and immaculate . The house is beautiful. Everything we needed was provided for. It's such a gorgeous home.
- Olivier (10/5): Exceptional - Everything perfect, beautiful place, excellent breakfast. The garden is amazing. A real dream.
- Viviana (10/5): Dreamy place in the Donegal - Loved EVERITHING! I think that this is the most beautiful place I’ve ever been, it seems a location from a Jane Austen book!
- Ian (10/5): Exceptional - Fabulous house and our hostess, Amelia, was charming and supplied a very filling breakfast which kept us going all day. Great gardens too. We would love to stay again someday!
- Richie (9/5): Superb -
- Dara (10/5): Exceptional -
- Theodore (8/5): Very good location, breakfast and grounds; no shower - Breakfast is very good. The room is spacious and has a nice view. Host is agreeable. The grounds are lovely and quiet. Bathroom only has a bath with a hand shower. The hand shower does not have much pressure. It is not hard to get clean, but is more work that a standard stand-up shower. Bed comfort was okay but not great (a bit hard for my taste and very little edge support).
- Renee (9/5): Beautiful oasis. - This is a bedroom upstairs in a beautiful old house together with its own living room on the first floor. The house is surrounded by a beautiful garden. We loved it. It is an old house. The bedroom is newly renovated, but the living room feels like a real home, not like an inn or hotel that was renovated/restored in the last five minutes. Shows its age, but for us this was a plus. The bathroom has a hand-held shower but no shower curtain. It's a great value for the rate.
- Megan (10/5): Exceptional -
- Artur (10/5): Perfect! - We spent a long-awaited and much-needed weekend in Dunmore Gardens. The place exceeded our expectations. The house is wonderful. Our living space, bedroom and bathroom were absolutely perfect. Spacious, very comfortable, spotlessly clean, peaceful and full of style. There is a beautiful garden next to the house. The location is also excellent. Relatively close to beaches and mountains which was very important as we love sea swimming and hiking. There are also great places for food around but early booking is strongly advised. We spent quite a lot of time finding a table without booking (for dinner). It was almost impossible. Especially on weekends. Amelia is a wonderful, very welcoming host. Dunmore is definitely the place to go if one needs a proper rest. Thank you for everything!
- Jonathan (10/5): Ten out of ten - The lovely spacious rooms and ultra comfortable bed and the superb hospitality of the hosts Nothing
- Petra (10/5): Exceptional -
- Dominic (10/5): Exceptional -
- Georgina (10/5): A very special place to stay - Our bedroom and bathroom were exceptionally large, bright and elegant with very comfortable bed. We were served a delicious breakfast in our own beautifully furnished drawing room. Amelia, who served us, was cheerful and very helpful with information about the locality. Conveniently located, with Derry only a 10-minute drive away. It was a real treat to stay in this special family house and excellent value. Nothing not to like.
- Jolanda (9/5): Superb - Absolutely loved our stay in this beautiful house and the surrounding garden. The rooms are stunning. Amelia is a wonderful host. We got some great recommendations for dinner in the area. For us the bed was a bit on the soft side.
- Susan (9/5): Elegant and charming - Dunmore Gardens was a late booking for us after we had a change of plans in our travel. Wow, did we get lucky! It's an absolutely beautiful, historic Georgian manor home, and we had an entire wing to ourselves. The lovely Amelia and her mother Ann were so delightful and kind. After a quick look around the property and gardens the next morning and a yummy breakfast, we were sent off with lovely memories. We don't mind being without television, but if you insist on having one...
- Tim (10/5): We will be back - Amelia was lovely and we really enjoyed our stay. We will be back.
- Gary (9/5): Relaxing - Quiet, quaint with nice grounds and amazingly friendly host
- Meaghan (10/5): Exceptional -
- Catherine (10/5): Perfection! - Dunmore Gardnes was perfect in every way. We had such a warm welcome from our host who was very friendly and helped us with queries about the local area. The house was easy to find and absolutely beautiful as were the spectacular gardens. Breakfast provided was more than we could have asked for and the coffee excellent! Our bedroom and living room were homely and filled with beautiful furniture. We didn't want to leave!! Everything was perfect.
- Raymond (7/5): Not to our taste... but certainly very nice for other visitors. - We liked the huge garden which we could visit. The young hostess was charming. The bedroom was big, clean and comfortable. The living-room was from another time.
