- Marie (8/5): A very pleasant and quiet ryokan, not too far from Kyoto station. - Staff were very kind and helpful. They allowed me to leave my luggage after checkout time, which simplified my transfer to another hotel.
- Agathe (6/5): -
- Sonia (8/5): - Superb staff, extremely helpful. Nice public bath, almost always empty (end of April). The room is spacious and all the necessary facilities are provided, even the yukata The ventilation system for the a/c is quite loud, so you either have to wear earplugs to sleep or ask the staff to turn the fans off, but then the a/c (it’s quite retro) won’t work so it gets quite hot in there room
- Sude Naz (10/5): - Superrr freundliche Mitarbeiter 🫶🏻🤗
- Kenny (9/5): - location is close to Kyoto station and staffs are wonderful wifi in my room is unusable

Rien
- Olga (9/5): - Staff were exceptionally friendly and attentive The foutons were a little firm for my liking
- Desislava (10/5): Awesome staff, unforgettable experience at the ryokan - Place had all the amenities needed. Large room, plenty of space for your baggage, and they even provide disposable bathroom stuff. Very friendly and welcoming staff, they even wrote a goodbye letter for us in our mother language. Will definitely stay with them again next time we visit Kyoto

- XIANG GENG (9/5): -

- Stefano (8/5): - Probably good value for money. Staff was nice and it is only few minutes walking from Kyoto station. It has almost everything you need. It is very old style. Probably nothing has been changed for such a long time and gives you a bit of sad feeling/vibe.
- Daniel (6/5): A satisfactory stay with really good and attentive staff who keep the hotel in a clean condition and a truly great break - The hotel was in a well positioned location within Kyoto, and everything was still kept very clean in both the private and public spaces. The staff were all still very well trained and easy to communicate with and they give a really great heated breakfast meal that was different each day. The property falsely advertises it’s quality level of the rooms and public spaces with lack of too many images. The rooms themselves, although having a nice old aesthetic, are clearly from many decades ago and when the building was constructed and are quite clearly worn out and smell old. Very much that old person home kind of smell. This was very much the case for my room‘s bathroom.
The public hallways, baths and some parts of the dining area, although still Japanese clean, are also very clearly worn out and haven’t kept up with quality/demands of the 21st century and definitely could use replacing or renovation.
The heater in my room separate from the manually controlled humidity fan, was constantly running in my room and you could only control whether you wanted it to be cooler or not, but not if you wanted to turn it off. Managed to get a member of staff to help with sorting it out which they did very promptly to help lower its noise, but it was still a distraction and clearly a very old product for many decades ago that looked very retro and not in a good way. I can only assume this is the case in many of the other rooms and is something that needs to be replaced.

- Dillon (10/5): I would definitely stay again. It's such great value and felt like a home - I loved the breakfast. There were large portions and it was delicious. The rooms were really comfortable and I enjoyed every minute of staying there Some TV channels were not working
- Mike H (9/5): -
- Mike H (9/5): Great location, a proper traditional setup - The staff are lovely and it's in a great location, a short walk from the main station. Some lovely restaurants nearby. The onsen on the top floor was lovely to relax in, and the breakfasts were excellent (as long as you like Japanese food) Well, it's a Ryokan, which means you won't have anything to sit on that isn't floor level, and the futon mattress is on the hard floor. As a sixty year old I found myself wishing for a real chair. But that's what we signed up for and I can't fault them for that.
- Rae (10/5): Kyoto Convenience - The location was an easy walk from Kyoto station. There were many izakaya close by and a very beautiful temple almost next door. The staff were an absolute delight, so polite and helpful even though I have no Japanese.
My room was very spacious, I did have the full ryokan experience which was delightful. There is an onsen which was also great.
I had a view from my window of the sky tower.
If you enjoy walking the Gion area was not too far.
I was very happy with my stay here.
- Mateusz (3/5): Borderline scam. - Good location, close to Kyoto station. The hotel is not a ryokan, it's just an old, crumbling hotel with rooms covered in cheap plastic tatami pretending to be a ryokan. The bathroom was dirty, with black mold growing on the shower curtain.
Our room was supposed to be 26m², in reality it was tiny, about 16-18 m², which clearly is fraudulent.
There is no A/C, only tiny air purifier and broken heater that gives off awful noise all day and night.
Futons are the thinest I've ever seen, which together with fake, hard tatami caused back pain.
The staff is superficially nice, but only one person speaks any English and they were either unable or unwilling to help with problems mentioned above. After mentioning the lack of A/C one staff member assured us in broken English that he will take care of that and nothing happened.
- Krista (10/5): Feels like getting home after a long day in Kyoto - Being a first-timer in Japan and Kyoto, traditional Ryokan was on my to-do list. I booked this place due to the convenient location, a short walk from the railway station.
The first greeting from the staff was friendly and they helped me go through the check-in process with my broken Japanese. All of the staff members were super nice and accommodating.
I enjoyed the traditional setting of the place. The onsen was a place to relax after hitting 30,000 steps in the city. The room was spacious and cozy. In other hotels I had gotten used to modern luxuries, but this was like staying at home. I liked the old-styled atmosphere, it definitely gave a cozy vibe. If you’re a taller person, remember to mind your head on door frames. Learnt this the hard way.

- Linda (9/5): - Quaint traditional Suggestions: some attention needed to maintenance of simple things like touch up paint on scratches/chips on tables and chairs. Even on the stand up inn sign outside lobby will spruce up the look so it doesn’t look old and drab. Maybe some black or red lacquered paint on the top of stained round tea set container in the room will freshen it. The seat cushions are hard, not so comfortable. However, the inn does have good simple traditional charm.
- Vanessa (9/5): Great value! - Staff very helpful and courteous. Location was convenient. Property clean.Amenities sufficient. Bathroom and hallways can use updating.
- Stefan (9/5): -
- Drago (9/5): - Zanimiva nastanitev. Zajtrk nekako, soba v drugem objektu še kar v redu

- Polivchak (10/5): - recently had the pleasure of staying at this beautiful ryokan, and I must say it was a truly unique and unforgettable experience. From the moment I arrived, the staff were incredibly welcoming, helpful, and attentive to my needs. Their kindness made me feel at home right away, and they were always ready to assist with any request.
The location of the hotel is fantastic, providing easy access to local attractions while still offering a peaceful and serene atmosphere. I really enjoyed the chance to experience traditional Japanese culture in such a central and convenient spot.
Staying at a ryokan was a completely different experience from other hotels, and it was a delight to try something new. The room was charming, with tatami mats and sliding doors, creating an authentic and calming atmosphere. The meals were also a highlight, offering delicious traditional Japanese dishes that were both beautifully presented and full of flavor.

Petit dej excellent. Accueil très sympathique.
- Itai (10/5): -
- Irene (8/5): A very good ryokan experience in Kyoto - The traditional ryokan breakfast is the highlight of our stay here. The lone lady serving the food is exceptionally courteous imo, she’d say thank you and stayed bowed till the lift door closes each time we’re done.
The traditional room with tatami-floor and futon, provision of the kimono and jacket all add to the nice ryokan experience. The experience starts once you set foot in the hotel as we are required to change out our shoes with slippers before we can go to the reception area.
The location is good as it’s just 8 mins from Kyoto station and a bus stop is also a few mins away only. The bathroom is the typical cramped type with bathtub, sink and toilet (no bidet) all with close proximity.
We were asked when we’d like to have our breakfast (6am, 7am, 8am) and we chose 8am. When we got late to get to the dining hall, they called us twice about our breakfast. We can specify a later timing but one must stick to said timing.

- Harish (10/5): Clean charming ryokan experience - Clean and charming Noisy heater that you couldn’t turn off. I’m sure they would have helped at reception had I asked but I was too tired and fell asleep regardless.
- Klaus Moser (9/5): -
- Robbie Sims (10/5): - The staff was friendly and was easy to communicate with! The breakfast options tasted delicious the traditional futon bedding was actually pretty comfortable. It was nice to just slow down from a busy trip with the public bath! Definitely worth the stay!!

- Gabriele0591 (8/5): - Pleasant and hassle-free stay. The property is clean, and the staff is courteous and helpful. Overall, it offers a quiet and comfortable experience. The hotel is a bit dated and could benefit from some modern updates. The room doors are difficult to open and show signs of wear. It would be helpful to improve their functionality and appearance.
