- Manoj k (10/5): It feels home , more than a room - Hospitality
- singh (5/5): -
- Leandro (9/5): Confortável. Voltaríamos. - Quarto imenso e cheiroso no roof top, boa recepção, móveis adequados e coberta quente. O acesso é estreito para carros e no inverno a água do chuveiro não esquentava tanto. Mas OK.

- Federico (10/5): - This is our favourite place to stay when in Jaipur. Don’t expect luxury this is just the most authentic experience you can get out of Jaipur, SPOILER: Is not for everyone. But if you want to feel part of the local community this is the best accommodation we found. Buy a Chai or a samosa down the street from the locals, go up in the terrace at sunset to see all the kids playing with kites. If you’re looking for the non-touristic experience this is it.

- Tambe (10/5): Exceptional - Good room... behaviour very well... service good
- Ladislav (10/5): Exceptional - Kind and helpful owner.
Clean room.
I recommend.

- Lisa (3/5): Poor - I was in doubt about writing this review, but I think it is important for future guest to know about some of the issues I faced during my stay and the unexpected rules that were imposed on us. I had booked this stay hoping to immerse myself in local culture and explore Jaipur from a different perspective. When I arrived, all seemed well and I was welcomed with chai. Quickly after I mentioned friends of me were also in Jaipur, they asked (in retrospect it felt pressuring) me to invite my friends to stay in the homestay as well. The two brothers that run the place seemed really nice at the time when they could 'get something out of us' (money that we would pay for an activity or to eat with them). However, once we decided to go out on our own, their approach shifted. We were having dinner somewhere when I was suddenly called repeatedly (I could not use my phone anymore, as it kept ringing). They texted and called angrily asking us where we were. Apparently they expect their guests to adhere to a curfew and close the door at 22.00 at night. This information was nowhere to be found on booking, nor did they tell us when we arrived. We were expected to rush back as soon as we could. We did not feel comfortable doing so, as it was not our fault that we did not know and we were still enjoying our dinner. Eventually one of us headed back to the homestay. We agreed with him that we would call him once we arrived and he would open the door for us. We did come back quite late at night, but we expected that our friend could open the door and we did not have to wake the family. Our friend got the room on the rooftop, to which the door was locked. He was locked on to the rooftop with no way to leave. This felt very unsafe. We had to ring the bell and were met with an angry family.
The next morning, whilst I was still asleep, I was awakened by loud banging on my door and the elder brother screaming "miss, miss" to grab my attention. the door. Some time later, they came by again and told us that how we acted was not acceptable (e.g. arriving back at a late hour). I felt incredibly unsafe and this is what I told them. I wanted to book a different place for the remaining night. At that time, they apologised and told us they "were just worried about us." If we were to stay the final night, we did not need to be back at 22.00 but we just needed to let them know to manage expectations. That seemed reasonable to us. But once again, at 23.30 (despite communication) I got the same angry message and calls and they threathened to lock us out if we were not back in 15 minutes. This time, I did go back as quickly as I could because I did not want to previous night to repeat itself. I was once again angrily met by the elder brother. The communication and how they treated me made me feel very uncomfortable and unsafe. I was also not allowed to bring another friend into my room (even though the place was for two people). This is something I could understand, but as booking.com says that you can add another guest to the room, this too needs to be communicated more clearly.
Also, the bathroom was not cleaned and I could still find sigarette buds everywhere (I do not smoke) and even an old toothbrush.
I think most of my bad experience can be explained by misalignment of expectations and a language barrier. However, I think it is important to know when you book this place that:
a) You NEED to be back by 22.00 at night
b) You are not allowed to bring guests
- Mohinder (1/5): Bad - I was booking .and booking is conferm
By property owner not give room .he say all rooms books
- Gretel (7/5): The owners are the best. - The family is very nice, always ready to help, the location is close to many places. The pictures are not what you have at all and can improve a lot on the hygiene.
- Lorene (4/5): The stay was uncomfortable and disappointing due to poor locality, small stairs, no mirrors or wardrobe, limited toiletr - The locality was not clean, with narrow paths full of potholes. The stay had narrow, small stairs, and since the room was on the second floor, it was difficult to carry all our luggage, although the owner offered assistance. No towels were provided, and the only toiletries available were hand wash. The bathroom was very small. Additionally, there were no mirrors in the room, and no wardrobe was available to store the luggage. While the owner seemed friendly, they charged us extra, claiming online booking customers need to pay additional GST, which was unusual since we had already paid taxes through the booking on Booking.com. Another suspicious issue occurred after we checked out; instead of marking our stay as completed, the property listed it as a no-show and canceled it.

Amazing location, really close to Radha Gopinath Mandir and an easy distance from Govindaji.
- Bangabash (8/5): Very good - The house is very nice, old building thick walls, very good for summers too. Leaving a pair of chappals for guest was a nice touch. The washroom space was very small. Also, no good place for meals nearby.
- Patil (6/5): Pleasant -
- V (7/5): Good -
- Svetlana (10/5): I would definitely recommend this place <3 - Beautiful homely atmosphere, good hosts, really cool neighbors, nice conversations, clean and tidy, had everything we needed, great location.
- Alicia (8/5): Very good -
- Liselotte (10/5): Exceptional - We had an absolutely amazing stay at Mother Homestay! The owner and family are one of the kindest and most hospitable people we have ever met. Everyone did their best to make our stay as pleasant as possible. We were even invited to a wedding anniversary party by their family member Ajay and his family (who also toured us around Jaipur and whose wife Richa gave us a great cooking class) which was the highlight of our trip to India. Would definitely recommend staying here! There was no wifi reception in our room, but that should not be dealbreaker!
- Saki (7/5): Good value but had a booking problem - Cozy big bed, nice people, walking distance to the Haw Mahal and the main road We booked 2 rooms to stay with our friend, but when we arrived they told us that there are only one room left due to the family visit. We had to sleep 4 people in one room (normally for 2 people). Also, the owner is a nice person but he was out most of the day and we couldn’t ask travel information when we wanted.
- Rahul (10/5): Exceptional -
- Klara (7/5): Good - Bit hidden location nearby local street food place. Owner took us to the rickshaw with his moto and negotiate good price with them to take us to the bus station. Much appreciated. Every morning from 4.30 am grandmother start to make her stuff like washing dishes and filling the tanks with waterpump.. After 1 hour it was calm again but for us personally quite disturbing.
- Caroline (10/5): I had a really nice stay there, would recommend ! -

- Diwakar (5/5): Passable -
- Preetimoy (6/5): It is pleasant stay particularly. Location , safety and a very homely stay. - Beautifully located a value for money to stay. The Entry. It
- Priti (4/5): A bit rough! Big improvement would be not banging metal dishes at 4.00am in the morning. - Both rooms and bathrooms were bare minimum but beds were comfortable and linens seem washed and clean.
Home stay was in the middle of old Town Jaipur's wholesale market so there is the experience of that if you are into it but trade off is constant honking noise of outside traffic and the stench of sewage and trash pretty much everywhere.
The roof top is clean and open with a nice view of the Mountain which was a refreshing break from the constant traffic honking noise and the stench & sights of sewage.
Doors on the room are strong metal doors and lock securely but tend to bang.
Someone from the residence wakes at 4am to start the water pumps and clean their metal clanging dishes and metal doors don't do much noise buffering. So remember to bring a pair of earplugs or find a time in afternoon for a nap to catch up with some sleep. Bathrooms are so small that one can barely move inside and being a tall person my brother in law cannot move inside hence was not able to take shower for 4 days.
Room view from balcony was sight of raw sewage mix with trash in open drain plus the smell of it.
- Naresh (10/5): It was just perfect Amit mom dad and everyone there was like family I felt at home - It’s a home away from home
- Anant (9/5): Superb -
- Matsuoka (10/5): Exceptional - very nice family stuff.
I felt like home.
good view from roof top!!
- Isabel (1/5): Bad -
- Battison (5/5): Passable - It was an experience. It was very basic but the owner said that it was being renovated. Which it definitely was.
- Ashish (2/5): Very poor - Location Didn't inform on time regarding unavailability of room due to construction
- Sougata (10/5): Exceptional -
- Gupta (5/5): Passable -
- Eniko (10/5): Wonderful Central stay - The homestay owners are very welcoming, attentive and helpful.
The room is good size, comfy bed, loads of pegs and space for bags etc. The 'desert cooler' fan was exceptionally good to cool us down in the hot Jaipur evenings, without the drying out effect of a traditional AC.
The location is walking distance from the main sights in the old town (pink city) which was very handy!
It is a bit hidden in and amongst the local area, you won't see too many other tourists walking around. People may try and redirect you somewhere else saying 'there's nothing around here', but we enjoyed the authetic experience.
Laundry service was quick and affordable.
The roof terrace was magical after the sun set, with a view of a nearby fort that is lit up at night. This didn't bother us at all and we particularly enjoyed the location. But we understand that some travellers may be discouraged by the location not being tourist focused. Eg. No roaming rickshaws, no other hotels or homestays around. There were street food carts here and there but no 'hip' sit in cafes or restaurants in the immediate vicinity, those are about 15 minute walk away.
However, the board listing the homestay's services says they serve food. We didn't use this service, as we were in the city from early until late and ate on the way.
- Nitish (7/5): Good -
- Ashwani (8/5): Very good -
- Sheshnath (10/5): Best of one - Nice home staye in jaipur near pink city hawa mahal... Nice nice
- Sheshnath (10/5): Nice nice nice - Nice Mother home staye in jaipur near pink city hawa mahal city palce janter mantar jal mahal all attraction around our room thanku mother home staye.
- Gbr (8/5): Perfect for a budget traveler. - excellent location, just 500 mts from the Nahargarh Fort cobbled pathway and 100 mts from the main road of Jaipur from where it is possible to get buses or autos or the Metro. room was reasonably clean as was the toilet. owner was very pleasant and helpful. for a budget traveler this is good place. nothing.
- Neil (10/5): Exceptional - Located off the noisy main road that travels the landmarks of the pink city, Mother homestay provided a real taste for urban India which was a highlight. The rooms were cozy and typical, but the food was amazing and great value. Staff was friendly, suggesting things to do in Jaipur and providing instrumental insights for maximizing one's stay. I felt the loving warmth of India in my two nights and highly recommend chilling at Mother's
- Nikhil (5/5): Passable -
- David (10/5): great value friendly stay 👍 - due to its location we felt totally immersed in Jaipur. we arrived during Holi and were made to feel very welcome and invited to dinner with the owners family. Room was very good and had a lovely rooftop area to sit having to leave
- Vladimir (8/5): Very good -
- Abhishek (10/5): Exceptional - Nature of Amitji Everything was fine
- Diane (1/5): Horrible experience - Nothing We had a very bad experience here. When we arrived the room was not ready, nobody came to see us to do the check in. 5 min after we enter in the room and the toilet was incredibly dirty, we think that they just change the sheets but the mold, dust and smell were still there.
The night was horrible, it's close to the street and the owner start to wash their dishes at 4 am so no way to sleep correctly..
The wifi doesn't work properly and we have to wait the morning to have the toilet paper we asked for the previous day.
At 10 am we finally met the owner! He entered in our room without knocking to told us to leave because he accepted an other booking overnight. So I don't recommend this place, they are not running this homestay professionally at all, not good to rest and dirty.
- Debora (6/5): Pleasant - Location is closed to main attractions. The room definitely did not look like the pictures, not very clean, mattress is brick hard. People inside the building were very loud late in the night and early mornings. No sign on the street to find the house. After check out I was brought to a place to see art, which I didn't want to but the owner convinced me to go. They had postcards there that were painted by handicapped or village women (I was told both) to sell to tourists.
- Reece (5/5): Cheap and technically effective, but don't expect much - The location is perfect- some reviews mentioned it being a bit of a dodgy area, but I disagree- it's a local experience and we didn't notice anything hostile. The room is spacious and we were allowed to leave our bags on the last day. The bathroom (especially the sink) look like it hasn't been cleaned in months. The ensuite toiled isn't western, and stinks. We didn't expect this to be the case as tourists are booking and every other place we stayed had a western toilet. Communication in English was an issue, with laundry cost requests being left unanswered.
- Nihal (6/5): Thank you Mr. Amit - Manager, Mr Amit, gave me so much support to get optimum benefits of Jaipur. Arranged me a whole sale market of textile and gem store. They were all satisfying. Arranged me a riksha to save my time. Arranged an elephant ride, money exchange. Just ask for it he is able to solve. On the top of this he invited me their New Year celebration with his family. It was one of the best New Year celebration to me. He was working for charities. At New Year eve, around 10 PM before the party they were offering people milk. Again we went together with the family and did the offering at the stand together. It was touching to be amongst kind hearted people and had a chance to open my heart by this occasion for coming year. It was special. The bed was comfortable and the sheets were so clean though the room was negletted and bathroom was dirty.
- Brintha (8/5): Very good - Room was clean. Host family was really helpful. Location is nearest to some of the tourist spots.
- Abhay (1/5): Very bad experience - Nothing The hotelier messaged me on the morning of check-in date and said that room cannot be made available. They gave a reason of maintenance activity that was incomplete and cannot provide any rooms. I asked them to cancel the booking from their side stating the same reason but it was not done. A very bad experience from Mother's Home stay. I hope this review will drive some action on such hoteliers and send a message of cautious to other travellers
- Anna (9/5): Superb - Ajay opened the doors of his house to us and made us a delicious dinner, thanks to Ajay's family. We felt like home, very welcome and Ajay takes you wherever you want!
- Igor (10/5): Exceptional - This is a cozy homestay with a hospitable host. You will meet travelers from different parts of the world, so evenings can always be spent with interesting stories. The owner of the homestay is a nice guy who will always help you with planning a trip around the city and around India.
- Ramakant (2/5): Very poor - Only service Didn't provide soap, towel, toilet is not clean
- Manoj (5/5): Passable - Location is not so perfect doesn't feel like good. Washroom is so small and geezar was also not working.
- Anonymous (7/5): Good -
- An (8/5): the host was really nice and friendly. They help me saved a lot of time and money buy giving a ride and taking me around - The food was good and the location was great. it’s close to everywhere.
- Abhishek (8/5): Very good - Very convenient location, felt like home....
- Maike (8/5): Good budget hotel - Friendly and helpful staff. Delicous Food that you can preorder. Some of the sights are in walking distance. Little balcony. Really small sink. The toilet in the room is just a hole in the ground, but they have a European toilet outside of the room too. The toilet was a little bit smelly too. Bad wifi. Not easy to find (no sign outside).
- Ghumakked_ (9/5): Superb -
- Abhinandan (10/5): Exceptional - Overall atmosphere and behaviour of the family of the the homestay
- Parvez (10/5): Exceptional - Owner was welcoming and well behaved.best in the budget.
- Prateek (10/5): Exceptional - Homely ambience, polite staff.
- Stefano (10/5): Exceptional - Nice quite stay but just close to everything. You can also order your meal and the staff gave us a dinner even if when we arrived was late. The staff is really nice and the brother of the owner and his wife are amazing painter so you can buy from them very nice paint. They are really amazing people and we spent time with them in their house. We won't forget that time together. Thank you very much!
- Kamlesh (9/5): Superb - Homely feeling . Best location and decent environment.
- Amit (10/5): Exceptional - Room nice..
Clean
Value of money
Staff very helpful.... kind
- Arpitha (5/5): I was not happy - Only bed was good, rest I didn't like anything everything, very bad location, very dirty
- Mailen (1/5): Very dirty! - . The sheets had stains from intimate relationships and other things that I didn't want to find out.
The garbage cans in the bathroom and the room were full of rubbish.
The bathroom was very very dirty.
There is no Internet conection. The modem is downstairs and doesn't reach upstairs!
It is an impossible place.
I didn't stay, I went to find another place to sleep because it's unhealthy.
I'm not a fussy person about cleanliness, I'm traveling around India on a low budget but I've never seen this level of dirt anywhere.
It's terrible even by Indian standards.
