- Melissa (1/5): Bad - Didn’t go there as location was n wrong spot
- Mrbolom (10/5): Hidden gems at El Nido - We had a warm welcome with fresh drink at arrival.
The staff, Ray had made our stay very comfortable and we have really enjoyed our 5 nights stay. In the restaurant he served us fresh fish meals for breakfast and dinner.
The beach front itself is very amazing, peaceful and actually there are not words to describe how beautiful it is. This is like a paradise on earth, swimming in a turkise water, in a typical fisherman village.
We could see breathtaking sunsets and enjoyed seeing the sky full of stars.
We will definitely come back to El Nido and stay in Baybayon again. We would be glad to come back there!
- Caterina (1/5): Description does not match - We booked for 8 nights, but we checked out after only 4 nights, because of the uncomfortable room, uncomfortable bed, impractical bathroom and poorly stocked restaurant: more a family run business, where you eat what the convent offers and you have to say in the morning what you want in the evening, if available.
First of all, the ***description does not match*** : the size of our room was not 22 square meters, as stated, but at most 10 square meters.
Also, there is no drain in the bathroom (it is only for aesthetics) and we had to use a bucket; stones on the floor, not very clean. Low water pressure.
The room does not have a balcony, but a small patio with no privacy (we put up the curtains); NOTE: the room with balcony shown in the photo is on the first floor and has no water at all.
The entire settlement consists of a partially brick shack with 3 rooms (two on the ground floor and one on the first floor), plus two bamboo huts.
The guys are kind and helpful, but the place is not equipped: you have to wait an hour and a half to eat, they don't serve juices or smoothies. It is not a resort, but a campsite in the middle of nowhere, infested with mosquitoes and sandflies.
NOTE: we also had to pay 5000 Pesos for the taxi driver: you will not easily find a taxi willing to take you and pick you up from here because it takes 45 minutes on a dirt and dangerous road with curves, bumps and ravines.
The beach is nice, but small and dirty on one side, where garbage is burnt. To the right we had a noisy boatyard and probably a rooster farm, infact, many roosters crowed at all hours, even at night. Everything
- Petar (9/5): A wonderful place for a romantic vacation if you don`t need luxury - The location is perfect! The cottage is situated right on the beach, me and my girlfriend had a wonderful romantic vacation there. The room on the second floor has a spacious balcony with a very nice view towards the sea, a hammock and a big table. We relaxed perfectly on that balcony.
The hosts are very kind and helpful. They prepared delicious food and served it on our balcony when we were lazy to go to the restaurant area 😊 They also arranged an exciting boat trip to near islands which are very beautiful and there are good places for snorkeling.
The beach in front of the cottage is beautiful and peaceful, there is a small number of tourists, so you can really have a good relax there. The sand of the beach is delicate and the water there is shallow. We spent the first day in the room on the ground floor because the room on the second floor was already booked. The room on the ground floor and it`s balcony are not as good as that on the second floor.
There is no hot water in the cottage and at the beginning I thought this is the end of my life 🤣 But my girlfriend Filipina was used to these conditions and she told me that this is normal in non-luxury hotels in Philippines. So I also got used to this and in fact it was not so bad because we gathered water in a bucket and because of warm weather the water in bucket was not cold but cool, sometimes even warm. Now I am not sorry about that challenge because I felt like experiencing the life of my grandma and grandpa 100 years ago in Europe 🤣
When you go there you have to plan to have a long journey from El Nido, about 1.5 hours and the road is bad, so don`t start travel late in the afternoon. You will need also money in cash because there is no ATM.
- Thinus (8/5): Enjoyable stay on non-touristy beach - The property is right on a nice beach with very little tourists in an authentic village. Lovely couple running the place. Ray (the husband) was especially friendly and helpful. The food was simple but good, the beer was cold and the coffee was good. There was a small white board just past the entrance with our names on to welcome us and we also received a glass of cold water when we arrived. The rates are a bit expensive compared to similar accommodations on Palawan Island. The room and bed was a bit small for two people, but we still slept well. It was a bit difficult to find the access road through the village. Some directional signage to the property would be helpful. Some comfortable beach chairs would be a welcome addition. Also painting the outside walls of the house where the managing couple lives would make the entrance to the property more welcoming.
- Olga (7/5): Unfortunately, the Philippines is not using its competitive advantages and is losing its popularity - Be sure to read the negative part of the review.
An excellent location for travelers who choose privacy, isolation and minimal comfort consciously. The beach is beautiful, tourists can be counted on the fingers of one hand. We are always looking for such places. The magnificent scenic setting of the location, immaculate sand, cleanliness and only the noise from roosters or fishing boats can interrupt your peace. The hotel offers a good menu, the food is simple but very decent. Don't expect luxury from such places. I did not like that the hotel does not indicate in the description that it is located in a place where taxi drivers do not want to go. There are obvious problems with the transfer to the hotel. Everyone understands everything, but they keep silent. It looks like a hoax. It's unpleasant. I thought that the return transfer from the hotel to another location would go more smoothly, but no. We are once again faced with a typical problem in the Philippines, when you negotiate a price and route and on the way the driver starts blackmailing you with an increase in price. Honestly, I don't understand this attitude on the part of business owners. We all work 5 days a week at our regular jobs and earn money just like you, by hard work. So why do you treat us like this?Like cash cows. After all, we are the same as you, we also get up every morning and go to do our work, get a short vacation, prepare for it and hope to spend it without disappointment and deception everywhere. This is very unpleasant, seriously. We have not been to the Philippines for 6 years, during which time I see a serious degradation of service and comfort for tourists. It's so sad, I think the Philippines is getting lower and lower in the ranking of tourist destinations. And every business owner, shop owner, taxi driver, and so on, is involved in an increasingly deteriorating rating. It's a pity, because the country has great potential, but you destroy it yourself with every action. You see, a non-burning light bulb or a long wait for a cooked dish is not a problem, it can be fixed. But customer loyalty is lost by rudeness, rudeness, and outright deception or deliberate violation of agreements, non-commitment, and unpunctuality everywhere. Tourists have an alternative where to spend their money, for example, in neighboring countries.
- Agustin (10/5): AWESOME PRIVATE BEACH - This is a beautiful secret spot. Perfect beach to rest and recharge, internet was very good!
Food and Great staff.
- Chelsea (10/5): Beautiful place!!! - it's a wonderful adventure!Great spot,wonderful people, Comfortable and relaxing stay,delicious food.
We would definitely recommend and come back again!!!!
- Marek (10/5): Escape to paradise - Amazing host, food, location… Paradise beach, so calm and so natural.
- Yael (8/5): Very calm and very basic (no luxury!) - The place is very basic (no luxury at all) and located in a small fishermen village. The food was tasty but takes aroubd 90minutes until you get it, so you better order before youre starving. We loved the hammocks and the peaceful place to relax. No water in shower or toilet. All you get is one tab to fill a boiler with cold water. With this you can wash yourself and flush the toilet as well. Many sandflys leaving itching bites on you, as well many roosters waking you up early, but bith of this is just the philippines and not about the accomondation. There are many dogs around especially when you get food, but you can ask the host to chase them away.
- David (8/5): Very good - The province life feels is perfect. The village is small and peaceful. The people fantastic The room is nice for what it isfor the province. The windows and bathroom could us a little work.
- Prabhakar (7/5): A wonderful travel experienceii8 - As the only guest it was delightful interacting with Ray, the only staff, despite his lack of English and my lack of Tagalog. The property was careful to say it did not have a restaurant, so it came as a pleasant surprise that Ray could in fact prepare some simple dishes, which was just as well because a foreigner not familiar with Filipino food would have found it difficult to find a meal anywhere else
- Francine (10/5): Awesome private beach and off the path location - This is a beautiful secret spot. Private beach with private chef. To get here can take a bike or a tuktuk ride north.
Had entire place to ourselves and the staff was to nice and pleasant to be around.
The service was great - very little tourists up there. Perfect place to rest and recharge.
Internet system was very interesting. There are no ATM's, so bring enough cash to last your days.
