Chrisf2378 (7/5): Great location for a peaceful adventure. - The location is the star with this home. Secluded country location. Dunblane nearby is charming. Loved the property and the walking paths just near the home and even on property. There was no heat for the first several days there. The temps outside we not horrible, in the upper 50's-low 60's during the day and mid 40's at night, but being an old home it got fairly cold. Host tried to help, guiding us to the thermostat to confirm of course then to the boiler house (a process to get through to get in) and ultimately sent out a handy man to try to resolve the issue. Handyman left us space heaters as he could not fix the problem. It is a very large home so the small heaters could only do so much. Host apologized over and over and did her best to help. She stated she would ensure we were compensated for the inconvenience. After I believe the 4th day there was a power outage (planned) and repairmen were sent to the home after this time. The heat was restored. Great news! Upon return home I asked about some type of refund or credit and was told that the problem was just in the thermostat and that any refund request had to be presented to the board. So, no refund to this date weeks later and no follow up. Sad as we truly loved our stay and would stay again would I feel confident that the board stood behind the hosts word and would compensate for obvious inconvenience of several days with no heat. I am not a complainer and did not mind the cold so much as the poor convictions of the board in standing behind their "product" and service to its clients.
