The hotel has excellent staff who contributed greatly to our lovely 2-night stay. I can certainly recommend this hotel. It is excellent value for money and the rooms are modern and well equipped. We would certainly return.

Well sized and very clean bathroom. Bed was firmer than I am used to, and the pillows were very firm.

It is in a very nice location Breakfast was mediocre with a number of items having run out at the time we arrived in the dining room despite there still being an hour of breakfast time left. Items were not being topped up very quickly if at all
- Giselle Nunn (10/5): -
- Kay (10/5): First class relaxation in a warm, friendly environment. - Our third stay. The go-to place to unwind and breathe. Everything here is good. The room, the staff, and the food; the continental breakfast options were amazing as was our evening meal in the restaurant. Best is the peaceful atmosphere which seeps in from the Abbey. Walking in the Abbey grounds is the icing on the cake. There wasn’t anything to dislike.
- Kieron (9/5): -
- keith (9/5): - Very clean and comfortable. Staff very friendly and a very nice buffet breakfast selection. Right next to the Abbey and only minutes from A38 if stopping over en route as we were. Onto Dartmoor within minutes in the other direction.

Continental breakfast available from 7am which is great time for the early risers. However porridge is not available until 8am along with cooked options upon arrival of chef which means a later start if heading out for day of activities. It would be much appreciated if it could be available from 7.45am.

- Carolyn (10/5): -
- Ayda (8/5): Fantastic accommodation. Would come back again - Staff were lovely. Clean, good continental breakfast. Close to buckfast abbey conference centre. Quiet as well. N/A
- Ben (9/5): Overall a fantastic stay provided by a top quality staffing team. - Location is beautiful. Staff were incredibly attentive and positive, the hotel clearly has a winning team working there. Accessible bathroom was exactly what we needed and made a huge difference. Food was excellent and delivered with fantastic service. Mattresses were too firm to really be comfortable particularly for my disabled partner. Carpet in the room has seen better days.
- sarah (10/5): Great location, well presented and clean - It was a really great location for our function at the Grange restaurant. The hotel itself was very clean and well.presented, the staff were very friendly. The continental breakfast included in the price looked lovely with plenty of choice but opted for a cooked breakfast which was lovely. Would definately stat again. Nothing not to like
- Mari (10/5): - The area and situation of the hotel.
- Kevin (3/5): It was just okay! - The rooms were spotless and a credit to the housekeeping team. Breakfast was an absolute nightmare, dirty sticky tables, no water in the tea urn, no coffee in the coffee pots, no plates or mugs (only dirty ones on the tables!) no cutlery. Everything had to be asked for even basic needs of the guests were not met, it was absolutely awful. We were told there were staff shortages but as a business address it, guests were walking out. It took 1 1/2 hours to have some toast and a cooked breakfast but by the time it arrived we were beyond hungry and completely fed up. On saying all of the above the two staff members that were working did their best, they were very polite and helpful and were under an awful lot of pressure, well done to them they should be given a rise.
- Susan (10/5): -
- Eleanor (10/5): -
- Edward (10/5): - Excellent
- David (10/5): -
- ALAN (7/5): Somethings changed. - Food at dinner want as good as it used to be.

- Sophia (8/5): Very quiet, friendly and relaxing -
- Paul (10/5): - Great breakfast, lots of choices, nicely laid out Found the bar prices a tad expensive, my partner had a gin and lemonade and was charged £2 for a small amount of lemonade, also was told there was no ice available.
- Dennis (8/5): -
- Nena (9/5): Lovely location, hotel and staff. -
- Jennifer (9/5): This is my third stay. I find Northgate house comfortable with a welcoming, calming atmosphere. - Breakfast was excellent. Wide choice of items. Fresh fruit salad and natural yoghurt top! Bread, croissant and jams delicious. Dining room bright, airy and comfortable. I didn't like the coffee. Could be improved. Croissants ran out temporarily.
- Tracey (9/5): Fantastic - A super place to stay. The staff were welcoming and very friendly. They gave me a quiet place to work for a few hours after check out time. Many thanks to them all.
- Margaret (10/5): - Have visited before and will visit again. Excellent.
- Christoph (7/5): - Clean and spacy rooms Location is away from anything- more nice places in the Dartmoore if you plan to do that.
- michael (7/5): Disappointed - The hotel was good, stayed there many times before. Normally we back the extra on booking for breakfast, which did this time. Nothing in the booking said that it was only continental breakfast. We feel had we knew that we would not have paid the extra price The breakfast was expecting cooked
- Dancey (10/5): - Clean modern and very friendly atmosphere Nothing
