- Georgia (10/5): Kind hosts, clean rooms and a great place in Kyoto - Great stay for the price. So many transport links and such a great option to stay out of the busy city. If bamboo Forrest is on your itinerary, cafe share house is in walking distance meaning you can get there go dawn to avoid the crowds. The bed is so comfy! The stairs are super steep and difficult to carry luggage up and down but do able.
- Martin (10/5): - Kind owner and very clean. Perfect
- Camila Ignacia (10/5): Good place and quiet 🫰🏼 - Everything!!

- PINGHSIEN (7/5): - This guesthouse is small but cozy. It’s very close to the train station and also conveniently located near the main sights. On the first floor, there’s a self-service dining area where you can brew tea or make coffee. Overall, I really like it. The soundproofing in the room isn’t great. When I stayed there, the guests next door were chatting past midnight, which made it hard for me to sleep. Also, there’s only one toilet and one bathroom, so you sometimes have to wait. For these reasons, I think this guesthouse is better suited for a group of friends renting it together, or if the second and third floors can be separated.

- Burak (10/5): - The facility and host are great, we will visit again!

- HOE YAN (8/5): - Great value for money, it is hard to find anything at this price point in Arashimaya. Price is for room only, but host Masumi also provided free tea / coffee and fruits which we appreciated. Location is quite good, close to bus stop and train station but yet away from the most crowded parts of Arashimaya. Room is of decent size and bed was comfortable. Masumi also provided information around the area and a recommendation for Kobe beef place for our upcoming trip to Kobe, thank you so much! There is an Izakaya nearby that opened for dinner (many restaurants in Arashimaya closed by 6pm). We can recommend this place if you are on a budget. Noise from neighbours and outside traffic can be heard, so light sleepers might be affected if you have other guests who are not so respectful. Shared toilet is at ground level so be aware of having to take the stairs down if you have to go in the middle of night.
- Angela (10/5): - Amazing helpful service.
- Erin (5/5): Okay. - The host was very nice although we only met her once when we checked in Her communication was very good. It was a cheap price. The very steep stairs to the bedroom. The bed was too hard for me personally. The toilet and shower being downstairs. Unfortunately the traffic was very noisy from 6 am to after 10 pm.
- Ákos (10/5): -
- Jennel (9/5): - The host is very responsive and helpful. Her husband is also very kind. Steep stairs to the toilet n bathroom
- Hattie (10/5): - This was a very nice place to stay and in a gorgeous part of Kyoto. The owner was extremely accommodating. I had needed a package sent here and she was extremely helpful and really cared. I would definitely recommend this place!
- vesna (7/5): exlant ! - Was interesting to see comon japanis hous from inside, with nerow and short sters .Mitsumi the host wos very helpful. Location of sharehouse is very near station Arashiyama, bat there is no any sign on the house , that it is the one , we looking for. Linen of silk wer sorpris!!

- Marni (10/5): - The host was warm, welcoming and provided a refreshing drink when we arrived. She also shared many recommendations for our best ways to explore the area. Not a problem for us, but the stairs from main floor bathroom to the bedroom are steep and narrow, which could be a challenge for people with limited mobility.
- Maxximillion Thomas (10/5): Fantastic - The host Masumi was incredibly friendly and helpful in providing us information on both the home and the Arashiyama area.
We had all of our needs met and more in terms of individual rooms, communal space for leisure, and home utilities.
Most importantly it was in a very convenient spot for communities to attractions, some of which were only walking distance.
It was the perfect location and the perfect experience for our stay in Kyoto, and I would highly recommend it for any group of friends.
- Mylène (10/5): Excellent séjour ! - C’était un incroyable séjour avec une hôte très accueillante et extrêmement gentille et pleine de bons conseils. Nous recommandons cet endroit pour n’importe quel voyageur !
- Karen (7/5): Great location, homey - Great location and excellent communication and homey. Good for budget backpackers. Only one bathroom and shower to share with all guests, was not clear when booking room.
- emi (6/5): -
- Nidhi (9/5): Superb - The host is amazing! She made extra efforts to make our stay comfortable and even helped us make plans. The location is excellent.
- Drew (10/5): Exceptional -
- Teresa (8/5): Convenient for the bamboo forest! - The host was so kind and helpful. We forgot some headphones and she mailed them to us.
- Jacqueline (10/5): Exceptional -
- Anne (8/5): Very good - very kind host
- Paulo (10/5): Cosy and close to the park and the train station - The owner is kind and nice, a great person to exchange experiences and talk to and as she is also a tour guide she gave a lot of tips and I was able to do laundry as well. I highly recommend the stay. for people who are very tall or very large, you may find it difficult to climb the stairs to get to the bedrooms, as it is a traditional Japanese house and the stairs may be a little cramped. But no problem, all the accommodation was good, just keep this in mind about the stairs
- Ryszard (8/5): Beautiful Sakura in Arashiyama - Very friendly owner. Remodeling of this house should be considered.
- Jilles (10/5): Nice and affordable guesthouse with a wonderful host - Nice and very affordable guesthouse near train station and Bamboo Forest. Masumi is a wonderful host! She made the extra mile to make me feel at home. She offered toast and hot macha when I arrived. It is really interesting to talk to her and she has good tips, being a tour guide too. Thank you Masumi for your wonderful service.
- Tania (10/5): Lovely host - Nice, quiet area. Just what I was looking for. Bed was so comfortable I was actually surprised! I was able to use the washing machine for free. Masumi cooked me some udon one night, only ¥500. I ate lots of delicious fruit while there which was free or cheap. Masumi was the most helpful, friendly host. She really cares about you :) thank you Masumi A mirror in the room would be helpful
- Doruelo (9/5): Perfect and cozy! - Very hospitable owner, love the ambiance of the place, super clean in every aspect! Just remember that if you're a westerner, Japanese homestay accommodation might be a bit small for you. It happens that I was alone in the whole house without other guests so it was chill stay! I don't feel scared or anything, the whole house is designed to feel warm in winter and cozy even if you're staying alone. Love my stay!😍😍😍 Mizumi was very helpful without complaining when I need her help after having trouble opening the front door, I really appreciate her effort coming from Osaka back to Kyoto to resolve the issue.
- Leonard (9/5): Superb - Great location and very accommodating host. Keep in mind that you control the room light with a remote and not a light switch. It's an old house so obviously it gets quite cold in the winter - heating in the room made that not much of an issue though.
- Francisco (10/5): Exceptional - Masumi-san was lovely! Location was super good too :)
- Justin (10/5): Exceptional -
- Anıl (10/5): Clean room, friendly - The boss is very friendly. The otel is very clean and cozy. Absolutely we’ll be there next visit. Nothing
- Laura (6/5): Pleasant - Ubicación The rooms are uncomfortable, stairs to straight and small, only one bathroom at the first floor
- Marijoy (8/5): Very good -
- Chung (10/5): Exceptional -
- Gail (10/5): Perfect - Great location, the owner waited for me even though it was a late night, she was very accommodating! Loved it, but note the bath and toilet room are very small(for a westerner) . But it’s what I expected and it was clean and perfect
- Suraj (10/5): Had a great time at cafe sharehouse - A very nice place with japanese style rooms, you can find arashiyama station few walks away and arashiyama forest on the other side. Also the area is usually quiet. There is a river nearby and has beautiful view .
I like the hospitality of the owner. She cooked dinner and breakfast for us for free. And took us for nearby places for shopping. She also helped us plan our route through different places in Japan. Much recommended. Try it out!!
- Johnston (10/5): Lovely homely feel in Arashiyama. - Comfortable Japanese room, good air conditioning for summer heat. Very close to Arashiyama while being away from the busy tourists.
Friendly staff and felt welcomed and at home. No fuss stay.
- Nino (10/5): Exceptional - We spent two nights at the cafe Sharehouse and it was an amazing experience. As for the location it is close to the Arashiyama Bamboo Forest (like 10 mins walk). It has an amazing river close by where you can run and also an onsen which is must go place during your stay at the sharehouse. We had a very warm welcome from the host and a little morning talks which were always refreshing and interesting. There is a bus stop and the metro station in 1-2 mins from the cafe and you can get anywhere in Kyoto by means of them. We went to the cafe sharehouse directly from Tokyo and it was so nice to finally chill in a family environment, away from the chaotic lifestyle. Thank you very much 💕 I hope I will be back pretty soon ☺️
- Laura (7/5): Good -
