Guest Reviews
- Miguel Light (7/5): - Nice quiet location. Clean and tidy. Easy check in.
- Allyson (7/5): Adequate for an overnight stop - Location was good for where we needed to visit. Sink over the toilet (for space saving) was awkward to use.
Camera voice could be turned off and replaced with a simple sign.
- Genevive (10/5): -
- Zain Khann (10/5): -
- Louise (5/5): - The location was remote which was lovely. Water pressure was so low we couldn't shower. Internet was hit and miss.
- Deborah (10/5): - Darren was so helpful Nothing
- Steven (9/5): -
- Gloria (5/5): Swedish Chalet - It was a good size for two people. It was a little too remote for us. We had requested twin beds, but when we arrived it was a double. The owner did kindly offer us the use of another chalet FOC, but due to the remote location we decided to share. He then offered to twin the beds, but we had to wait over an hour for the extra bedding and then make up the beds ourselves. There was also no wardrobe. There was a coat hook, but sadly no coat hangers! There was also no water in the morning either in the toilet or kitchen sink, so couldn’t wash hands. It turns out this was down to a local burst pipe, so not the owners fault. That being said, the owner (Darren) was extremely nice throughout and offered us a free bacon sandwich for breakfast for the inconvenience.
- Robert Crossland (10/5): Brillian. Booked last minute and was a super cozy little cottage out of the way. Even being small ,with 3 people it stil - Cozy little room that’s out of the way.
- David (10/5): - Great, convenient location which is very quiet, clean and comfortable. N/A
- Davey (4/5): -
- Muhammad (10/5): -
- Nathan (10/5): -
- Duff (5/5): - Location was good Basic , no tea or coffee just a kettle , noisy in the morning being woken up at 6am by the shower next door and a builders van revving outside the property , parking a squeeze also.
Wouldn't recommend.
- David (10/5): - Great location, facilities, and value for money N/A
- Stephen (9/5): An enjoyable stay in a comfortable environment - Good view. Comfortable bed. More utensils, a blind for the skylight.
- Deborah (8/5): -
- Samantha (5/5): -
- caroline (6/5): Helpful host, clean spot: good for a one night stop over as very close to Luton - Clean and tidy room: well equipped with beverages etc. Looked recently renovated. Quite close to A6 so a lot of traffic noise No enclosed outdoor space as I had Ruby Cottage, not in photos, so I had to watch my dog running onto track
- Daniel (10/5): - .. ..
- Anne (9/5): - Good location and quiet. Exit to A6 a bit blind due to hedge not trimmed back.
- Gary (4/5): -
- Fiona (3/5): Was a bed for the night. - It was close to meplershall The fact that we couldn’t park as someone kept
Parking in our designated space and the track is so narrow there wasn’t anywhere. Was told on the day we was leaving that we couldn’t use the bathroom sink as it was broken so we had to use the kitchenette sink to wash and brush our teeth in. The outside light comes on all night with shine straight through the skylight waking us all up constantly. And the room itself didn’t have and windows we could open and was so hot.
- andy (7/5): - All as described in the add, nice place to bring a pet as surrounded by fields.
- Sophie (10/5): -
- Annelie (10/5): - Perfect little stop over point when travelling through. Very comfortable & clean. Very small sudden turn off from a fast main road - easy to drive past without realising & hard to join the main road again when you leave if heavy traffic. Parking space is small & may be hard to squeeze into for bigger cars.
- Jeanette (8/5): Very pleasant. - Nice simple room, clean and nicely presented with all we needed for a comfortable short stay. Nice view of fields out of the window. Quiet location and own parking. A large skylight in the main lounge/ bedroom with an outside floodlight above that was flashing on and off non stop all night long......and then the daylight lighting up the room at 5am........not the best night's sleep.
Owner did not respond to any of my texts or phone calls to the supplied contact number.
- Jones (7/5): Good. - Beautiful location. Cupboard in the room was locked, leaving little space for storage. There were beetles crawling around the carpet and on the bed.
- Maria (8/5): Great layover for us, suited what we needed - Location was what we needed, beds were comfortable. Facilities were fine, welcome pack was great and host was super accommodating and pleasant The skylight.meant when sun came up the room was flooded with light making sleeping difficult. Plus there were a couple of big spiders!
- Keith (9/5): perfect for my needs. So hassle free that I'll use this again in the future. - Parking space right up close to the door to the chalet.
All self contained.
Motorised barrier control on the entrance lane meant my vehicle was secure overnight. water pressure on the sink a bit low but the shower was always fine.
- John (6/5): Pleasant -
- Rob (5/5): Had a lot if promise but left disappointed - The only exceptional part of this stay was the view and location as it was down a private lane and cut off from the town centre. Very quiet and peaceful and looked great from the outside. Owners very helpful and friendly. I originally booked this as the pictures of the cottages looked very promising. But when we arrived we were in a chalet that didn't look like the photographs. It was not very clean, splattered bugs on the walls, carpet was marked. Shower and toilet not left in a good way and we went to buy bleach to clean it up after arriving. Previous guests had thrown a bin bag of rubbish over the fence, which attracted more flies - I know that this is not necessarily the owners fault, scruffy guests and poor cleaners job. No air con, which it would benefit from, given the hot weather and pet friendly status. WiFi dropped in and out and we were unable to watch Netflix due to this. Cupboard door hanging off in kitchenette. We had problems a couple of times with leaving the property as the gate would not open.
- Beverley (8/5): Nice little place to stay when visiting my Mum in Luton lovely views - The chalet has everything you need and is in a lovely location .
- Downie (9/5): Superb -
- Lesley (3/5): We booked for two nights only stayed one disappointed with chalet - Not applicable Facilities carpet dirty there was a musty smell . Kitchen floor sticky
- Anita (5/5): Passable -
- A (6/5): Pleasant -
- Rosemary (5/5): Passable -
- Sharon (10/5): Exceptional -
- Stephanie (7/5): Good value for money if need access to Luton and travelling with a dog . - Friendly host with very good communication. Quiet and rural . Great with a dog. Easy for Luton airport. Could do with updating inside. Old bed with coloured bed linen . Bathroom needed redecorating . Would replace the carpet with hard floors for hygiene.
- Julie (4/5): Disappointing - Everything it smelt and woodwork rotten there was a step into the bathroom that needed to be highlighted. As for the camera outside the door it felt very intrusive after one night we left
- Stephanie (5/5): Basically ok, but needs to be cleaned better. - I didn't meet the host, but I was given good information about access and key retrieval.
Parking was ok for Belle cottage, and although near to the A6, it was quiet.
Facilities provided for tea and coffee making, including biscuit. Waste bin in the kitchen was full of take away rubbish.
Pillows and quilt could do with replacing.
on arrival the pillows looked as though they had been slept on....ruffled and bunched up.
- Shane (2/5): Very disappointed toilet would not refill shower very very low water pressure so could not shower - Nothing
- Carol (2/5): Very poor - No contact to access premises.
Waiting for over an hour yo access the room.
Previous occupants coat still hanging on oeg
- Jones (2/5): Very uncomfortable. - No breakfast. Poor quality and worn-out bed linen, no fitted smoke alarms, no extractor fan in the shower room also it was very smelly, inadequate heating. In need of a refurb.
- Serina (10/5): Exceptional -
- Steven (8/5): I would like further future stay. - A comfortable stay and I recommend the accommodation and value for money. great views over the fields. I was quite happy with every thing.
- Adrian (10/5): Exceptional - Lovely place. Thanks!
- Jonathan (6/5): Cold - Freezing cold with a very ineffective heater
- Kris (10/5): Exceptional -
- Martin (1/5): Terrible , I spoke to the trainers on the course who previously stayed at location who had same opio - No breakfast Poor shower pressure , broken shower door , damp , dust on skirting boards, drive was mud , needed gravel, unmade drive with potholes. Scrap vehicles around the building. Security light so bright it illuminates room ( unable to sleep ) loudspeaker security announcements whenever security light was activated by movement. This was making the security announcements 24hrs a day. Decking was worn and slippery. Draft from outside due to poor fitting door.
- Blissett (8/5): Very good -
- Samantha (8/5): Very good -
- Bagshaw (5/5): Good stay, but description not accurate. - Convenience of location, friendliness of the host. The pictures of the accommodation were inaccurate. The pictures on Booking.com show the farmhouse, not the chalets. When booking with booking.com, no choice of chalets is given, but the host said a specific chalet had been chosen.
- Bryan (10/5): Exceptional -
- Paul (7/5): Ideal for me and my son. Short stay. - Host was very reactive and helpful. The BnB was quite difficult to find in the pitch black and raining evening. Ideally needs a light or reflective sign up on the main road by entrance.
- Samuel (5/5): I wouldn’t stay again I’m afraid as I just couldn’t sleep I cut the stay short and drove home I didn’t turn into to work - The property set out was nice it was fairly clean the towels and the bed was made nice
The staff were very helpful answered the phone immediately when I called for help There were men’s hairs on the side tables on arrival, the property was so cold I had to leave both heaters running to try and warm up, the gate banged all night keeping me awake that wasn’t pleasant at all it was just so noisy
- Paul (4/5): Disappointing - Able to get in slightly earlier. Beds were ok and it was warm. The room was very expensive for what it was. You're better off in a premier Inn type place. Internal doors to other properties were left unlocked which opens up the risk of strangers coming in (which is what happened to us). TV did not work and the WiFi was ineffective in our chalet.
- Andrea (8/5): Great option when working away - Easy to stay at .. good systems in place N/A
- Jenny (10/5): Great space for friends to have a quiet rest before the manic Christmas period. - Hosts checked that the chalet was warm on arrival. Towels had been provided which I hadn't expected. Some litter was left outside the chalet.
- Jessica (8/5): Great for one night, prob woouldnt for any longer - The property was great but very basic The photos didn’t show that there was only one room. Could gauge from the photos how it worked, thought it would be a few rooms which means we could have left the child to sleep while we continued on etc.
- Faye (6/5): Pleasant -
- Kathryn (7/5): This seemed like more of a convenience stop on way to airport, say, rather than holiday destination. - Warm and comfortable. Convenient to have kitchenette. Fairly impersonal. Little bit shabby. Talking camera! Expected a little more homely to warrant paying more than chain hotels. Had requested late check out but message hadn’t been received and unable to help, although owner? tried to arrange with housekeeper.
- Graham (9/5): Very pleasant and great hosts - Self contained and very well fitted out I am a responsible driver and the “ditch” could be a problem LOL
- Kymberley (6/5): Budget stay. - One night here between travelling. Good location. Pleasant hosts. Bedding smelt very damp. Outside decking very slippy to the point its lethal. Low water pressure and pump is loud (belle cottage didn't work at all) and neighbouring shower could be heard so loudly you couldn't hear the television. Only half of the lights worked.
- Michael (10/5): Exceptional -
- Aqeeb (9/5): Superb -
- Stephan (10/5): great for travellers stopping overnight - great little motel style setup. ideal for motorcyclists as there's secure parking right next to the rooms. also withing deliveroo catchment. not so much a didn't like but if i would fit a vending machine on the premises for lazy or tired travellers.
- William (5/5): Passable -
- Rachel (7/5): Comfortable chalet and would stay again - The location was a bonus, so quiet.
The comfort of the chalet.
Facilities provided in the room.
Darren the host was really nice and helpful. Made you feel welcome and looked after. He cared about my stay. It was difficult to park as I was in the last chalet at the end and due to other vehicles parked alongside the fence it was difficult to reverse park.
The shower pressure wasnt great - but it was explained why at the property.
The internet constantly was dropping however Darren did make a special effort to come and explain and try to sort it out.
None of these things would stop me from staying here again.
- Monika (5/5): Passable - Arrival Not friendly. Only one Chair
- Emma (5/5): Passable -
- Mary-anne (8/5): Was a nice stay. Was made very welcome by host and very accommodating. Only thing for me personally is I like a form pil - Nice location Nothing
- Beverly (8/5): Very good - Quiet location
Easy parking Lights re kitchen on timer and kept going off when still in the area
Bathroom was damp and therefore the towels were hard to dry I think due to ventilation not working
- Giulia (1/5): Don’t waste your money - Booked here as close enough to Luton airport. Location was ok but hard to find the turn in the dark. Good things were parking and the self check-in/checkout as we came late and left in the middle of the night. Place was awful. The bed was incredibly uncomfortable, the bed was very obviously broken, mattress was dirty. Bedding was stained as well with what looked like blood. Found a packet of condoms under the bed. The floor was disgusting as well, clearly not cleaned properly for a while. Would not recommend this to anybody.
- Mcgain-harding (6/5): Pleasant - Host lovely. Convenient. Stunning area. Hot shower and great to have mini fridge, microwave, toaster and kettle. Discussed with host who is rectifying minor issues with door lock, parking and gate keypad and better quality bedding.
- Stacey (4/5): We were very unHappy with our stay we didn’t expect top 5star chalet but a clean chalet to sleep and shower - The sky light window had no blinds so at 6 am the chalet was so bright we couldn’t sleep, we had booked 3 people but only had towels for 2 people, we had a dirty footprint in the shower on arrival, the shower door didn’t shut probably and the water didn’t drain as fast so ment we got the floor wet, as cc we only had 1 bathroom and the sink was on top of the toilet it wasn’t easy or appropriate to brush your teeth we had to use the sink in the room, there was no bin the bathroom to dispose of ladies items nor a bag in the bin in the room. The head board and remote was so dusty we wiped them to use to find out the tv would connect to the internet so we had no tv. The entrance to the chalet was on the side secured by a 4ft fence of but behind the fence were bushed stingers etc which ment a lot of nats, we arrived in the evening and on arrival a lady ask if she could check or chalet which was alarming, as our chalet check in from from 3 and should of been checked cleaned and stock before arriving.
- David (5/5): Basic but OK if you know what to expect - The location was fine for us. The property was clean, the bed comfortable. The chalet accepts dogs. There is a walk for the dog from right outside the front door (albeit rather a dull one !). The shower worked OK and there were tea/coffee making supplies there. It is advertised as "one bedroom chalet". I guess I should have looked harder at the posting because I took that to mean there was a bedroom within the chalet not that the bedroom was the entire chalet (bar the bathroom) and that the kitchenette was in the corner. I had wanted a separate bedroom so that we would not be sleeping in the same room as the dog, so had I known/realised the setup I might have booked a hotel or pub room in town which would have been more convenient and had better amenities. The "bathroom" had the most unusual sink/loo arrangement whereby you had to reach over the loo to use the sink....not ideal for brushing teeth and useless for makeup/shaving as there is no mirror.
- Maria (9/5): PLEASANT ,QUIET AND EASY GOING - Location perfect very quiet albeit near a main road ,host has very good sense of humor and easy to chat to and very amenable helped to arrange an extra day that I needed at short notice and very helpful, Chalets were very well catered for my basic needs and well equipped in the kitchenette area and shower room. Overall a good experience and would definitely stay again. The fridge could of been slightly bigger as my larger bottles that I wanted to keep cold would not fit and if I had known would not of brought so much to go in it for my 4 day stay. and also a different access point for the fuse box for the other chalets/home to go as owner had to have entry into my room whilst I was not there to get access to the loft and informed me after the event thankfully didn't have anything lying around that could of been embarrassing!!! lol!
- Wagonwheels (8/5): Great Country Position - Central for our visit. Owner very helpful. Beautiful country setting. Really dark at night and not very well signposted
- John (8/5): Very good - Its location. Nothing
- Craig (1/5): Bad - when arrived the shalley alocated was dirty from previous guests moved to a new one and that was still dirty just not from previous guests. dirty
- Terry (9/5): Great place value for money - Great as working on PC and was quiet
- Sam (9/5): Superb -
- Nathan (1/5): Bad - Was nice surroundings No running water uncomfortable beds. terrible shower and to top it of someone was hitting the wall with something in the night
- Marshall (8/5): Very good -
- Steph (6/5): Pleasant -
- Mandy (7/5): Good - The host was very helpful and cheerful. I liked the little kitchen area very handy. The bathroom was not great no window, really quite smelly as extractor fan did not work.
Bedroom window never opened like fresh air at night, and security light ( which talks) coming on in the night and lighting the Bedroom up .
- Graham (10/5): Had everything we wanted in a very convenient location. -
- Ke (7/5): Good - WiFi signal was very bad
- Michael (8/5): Very good - Comfortable
Suited are purpose
Good area very quiet More cups and cutlery
- Lea (8/5): Nice Chalets could do with a little TLC - Property was a nice size, decent size rooms had everything you needed for a few nights
Parking available right outside your front door with an outside space with tables etc….
We paid £85 for one night, was a bit over priced but it was what we needed for the weekend
Also had flat screen TV with freeview and free internet
We had no issue contacting owner who was on site to get checked in Property could do with a clean inside and out, lots of spider webs outside (but is located in middle of fields) but were also in kitchen and bathroom
Shower was roasting hot and shower door was old so found hard to open and shut, towels smelt a bit musty aswell.
Did book a double room, but it was two singles together as one bed.
- Valeriu (9/5): Superb -
- Dennis (9/5): I'll be booking again - Nice chap verey freindly
- Powell (10/5): Exceptional - Lovely location, very peaceful even though by a main road Nothing
- Guy (3/5): Poor -
- Wendy (10/5): Exceptional - Centrally located for all amenities yet tucked away on the outskirts, surrounded by fields.
Perfect for a quiet break away. Dogs are welcomed and there are some wonderful dog walks around, just by stepping out the door. I do not have a bad word for this location or the property.
My only suggestion would be to have better signage directing to the property as it can easily be missed.
- Wendy (10/5): Exceptional - The property is located in a rural area idea for dog walking, quiet yet off the main road, making getting around simple.
Perfect for a quiet and comfortable stay with everything you need nearby. I would recommend better signage on the approach to the property, as although I know where it is (used now 3 times) I end up missing the turning every year.
- Jale (4/5): Disappointing - The location Over price
- Arron (7/5): The pictures only tell half the story - Location was great, nice and quiet. Property is gated, extra security. Great shower. Could’ve been cleaner. Didn’t expect to find mouldy duvet and mattress. The toilet wasn’t cleaned between guests. The kettle hasn’t been cleaned since it came out of the box. Loads of cobwebs in the sky light. All a bit dated. The fridge wasn’t really cold and the freezer compartment was almost fully closed by ice.
