Guest Reviews
- Iris (9/5): Fantastisch!
- Sarah-Jane (10/5): -
- Bertie100 (4/5): Bedding let this place down and an ear piercing alarm that woke me up at 5a.m. I had to work out how -
- Alexandru Cordun (10/5): - Peacefull place with stunning view. All the facilities, amaising place for short stay.
- Graham (10/5): -
- Brian (10/5): -
- Roxy (8/5): - It was a lovely set up and the view to the stream was perfect I feel the fence needs to be taller as you can still see the vechiles and people
- Louise A (9/5): -
- Salazar (10/5): -
- Stephanie (10/5): - Lovely hosts.
Comfy beds.
Good location.
Very chilled!!
- Williams (8/5): -
- Trevor (10/5): -
- Mcdermott (10/5): It was a lovely chilled out evening with no interruptions, I would highly recommend it - It was very secluded and quiet We didn’t meet the owners
- Claire (10/5): -
- Joy (8/5): - Location very tranquil accommodation clean comfortable with everything needed plus some added extras Nothing I didn't like
- Jacqui (10/5): Perfect little hidden cozy cabin to escape the storms! - Quirky, unique and delightful hidden gem! This place is charming. So comfortable and clean, thank you for the thoughtful touches like snacks, wine, milk etc. We were sorry the weather was so bad and we only had one night, so we couldn’t appreciate the decking outside and the stream.
- Andrew (10/5): -
- Simon (8/5): -
- Kettan (10/5): Perfect place to hideaway from the world. - The accommodation was exceptionally clean and very cosy. I usually have a problem with beds when I stay away but these were very good quality as were the bedding. There are little quirky touches which I loved, including squirrel nuts to be put out. Couldn't fault the place.
- JONES (10/5): Among nature - We felt a lot of thought has been put in this lovely secluded accommodation. We felt close to nature. Love it
- Leah (9/5): Parrys Hideaway - All the lovely little touches made for a fantastic night's stay. Dog friendly & nice walks in the surrounding area. Highly recommend Couldn't connect to WiFi but possibly just me unable to figure it out! Only thing can think of.
- Paul (8/5): Peaceful, quiet place - The location and the surroundings The bathroom was too cold and the shower couldn’t be adjusted to the right temperature (it was either freezing or scorching hot)
- Angie (5/5): Great cabin .... outside needs attention. - Warm, cosy and comfortable with a good, secluded and safe area for our doggies to roam. We would like to thank our hosts for the gifts and Christmas trimmings. Having read previous reviews, we were looking forward to being out in nature and were very excited at the potential of maybe seeing an otter, owl and squirrel. However, the stream had a tin can, lump of wood, cardboard etc in it, which affected the batural flow of the stream - not a pleasant outlook. We hope that this can easily be resolved to create a truly natural environment for nature to thrive. Overlooking a pile of collapsed corrugated iron was also not that desirable. It was a shame, but could easily be resolved to create a totally harmonious experience.
The parking area was not easy to negotiate - especially for a low car, so we had tomorrow outside on the pavement.
- Lee (10/5): Perfect -
- Collette (10/5): - Was lovely and quiet, beautiful place. Very thoughtful people. Thank you for everything. We will be back. Would highly recommend x
- Ryan (10/5): -
- Neil (10/5): Perfect hideaway! - Fantastic setting and very comfortable. This little hideaway has everything you need with some amazing little extras, christmas decorations were a lovely touch. Despite it being the depths of winter it was warm and cosy. Our 9 year old loved the bunk and wanted to move in 😄 host was so helpful, making sure we could park our car safely aswell thank you for an awesome stay!
- Rhys (10/5): Amazing use of space - What an amazing little place, felt like we were very secluded which was exactly what we were looking for. Amazing use of space and so comfortable and clean! A really lovely experience I would have no doubts about booking again if I return to the area! Nothing
- Ben (8/5): A cosy hideaway in nature. Good value - Nice location very private. Right by a stream. It was raining and cold so we did not get to use the Balcony but it’s a lovely setting. It was good value and cosy. It was fine for a stopover or as a base to explore and eat out. No complaints at all but the kitchen area is really cramped
- Claire (10/5): - Very comfortable and a perfect little escape
- Michael (10/5): Brilliant use of a back garden / area. Very well laid out and very comfortable. - Brilliant use of a back garden / area. Very well laid out and very comfortable. The shower was excellent and the extra comforts (tea bags, coffee, snacks) made the stay very welcome and far better than some hotels.
Ideally situated for what I required and would be good for anyone wanting walks in and around Devon. Nothing
- Fair (10/5): - Great little cabin behind a thatched house. Beside a small stream in a mini-woodland in the middle of Exmouth. A real hidden gem. Very cosy with bunk beds (lower double, upper single). Neat little kitchenette, table, chairs, shower and TV. Fab balcony deck overlooking the stream and a paddock with Bertie the horse. Lots of little details including dog treats, peanuts for the squirrels. We arrived a few days before 31 October and it had Halloween decorations and sweets. Our five-year-old son absolutely loved this place. We can't wait to return. Superb value!
- Nicholas (10/5): -

- Olivia (8/5): -
- James (9/5): Loved it. Thanks again. - Cute, small, well equipped. Perfect for a stop off.
Owners made it fun with little Halloween props. Made us laugh and shows they have a personality, just like the property. Could add a small outdoor heater on patio, but that’s being picky. We did stay mid October.
- Michael (8/5): good break -
- Jan (9/5): -
- Shaun (10/5): Quirky, Cosy and perfect for a nice little break away in peaceful surroundings, we will be returning - Location was fantastic, facilities were great, it was nice and clean, and very quiet. Nothing

- JUSTIN (9/5): Great - Ideal, a change from the norm
- Rose (9/5): What can we say? We'll be back! - The location - absolutely gorgeous little hideaway. Attention to detail - little welcoming touches e.g. milk, water bottles and a little bottle of rose wine in the fridge; fresh flowers on the table; dog treats and monkey nuts to feed the squirrels; lovely friendly hosts.
- Kevin (9/5): Tranquility - Lovely, secluded spot next to a little babbling brook, amongst trees. This was ideal for our overnight stay during a hot summer weekend. Well equipped kitchen, Lovely veranda overlooking brook. Some nice touches with wooden sculptures and little homely signs. Even a barbeque.
Both loved our stay. Thanks Parry's Hideaway. Was well appointed but if I was to be picky then the chip board interior lets it down a bit. As I say that's being picky.
- Robin (10/5): Great place to stay. - Excellent, well equipped for our one night stay. Very peaceful, friendly and respectful hosts. Very comfortable beds, great use of space,, lovely private veranda, overlooked by an owl. Both we and our small dog felt very at home. Nothing.
- Philip (10/5): Amazingly chilled , coffee in the veranda by the stream - Location. Private and quirky Little cosy with 2 dogs !
- Tammy (10/5): It really is a lovely place and situated in an idyllic location. -
- David (10/5): Great accommodation, location and relaxing. - Everything. Needed a quick place to stay. Was relaxing and great My back is not the best and mattress’s not ideal
- Pippa (9/5): Thoroughly recommend! - Beautiful cabin that was very cozy. We received a very warm welcome on arrival from our friendly host. Despite it being very hot in Devon for our stay (30 degrees!) the cabin was a cool oasis in the shade. We loved the extra bits like dog biscuits and squirrel food. No complaints!
- Charlotte (9/5): Lovely relaxing tranquil place - Though it was suburban the stream and horse paddock made it a lovely nature retreat
- Samantha (8/5): Beautiful Woodland Hut - all mod cons and squeaky clean.Awesome! - It’s quirky and cute. Perfect for a one night or two night stay (we stayed one night) With 3 people it can feel a bit snug, but that’s ok. I wouldn’t like to have to entertain small children there if it’s raining.
- Angie (8/5): Very good -
- Chris (10/5): Really nice place to hole up for a weekend in beautiful Exmouth - Lovely quiet spot. Very well catered for. Everything you need and more. Spotlessly clean. Hosts were really friendly and helpful. Dogs loved it also! Nothing.
- Ben (10/5): Exceptional - Location, river, family
- Alex (10/5): Amazing - Needed somewhere quirky to stay for a night in Exmouth and the Hideaway fitted the bill perfectly - very simple and comfortable cabin overlooking a babbling brook with everything you needed for a night or two’s relaxation - a glass of wine on the terrace or a morning coffee is perfect ! Very well equipped and of the best showers !! Nothing
- Ralph (10/5): Gorgeous little hideaway for a secluded stay! - Stunning, secluded location. Really clever use of space, perfect for 2 people.
- Tania (10/5): Exceptional - Perfect in every way.
- Drazdauskaite (9/5): Superb -
- Saravana (2/5): Very poor - We immediately left within a few minutes as the place was too stuffy and cramped. May be suitable for a single person. There were dead flies in the kettle. Blankets were dirty and smelly.
- Louise (8/5): good - setting was pretty. nice accommodation too shady, therefore not enough sun. not a hot plate to cook on
- Lisa (10/5): We live locally and needed an extra bed as family stayed at our home this was in walking distance to our home so worked - Private and cute Nothing
- Liz (9/5): Superb -
- Stephen (8/5): Very good -
- Mccarthy (7/5): Good - Property very clean comfortable but mattress wasn’t very comfortable

- Nicki (9/5): Beautiful bolt hole and perfect little hideaway -
- Rebecca (10/5): Exceptional -
- Kieran (10/5): You will love it - Amazing. It has everything you need, bed was comfy and extra blankets, water pressure was really good and the little things such as milk and coffee and biscuits on arrival, the feeling of sitting outside with a coffee in a morning was bliss, especially with the water next to us. Slept like a baby for the 2 nights and one of the nicest places I’ve ever stayed!
- Bryn (8/5): Cozy and clean - Liked the communication from the host. Nice little hide away.
I liked that they had milk and beer also cans of wine. Nice touch. Cozy and clean, ideal for what we wanted.

- Benjamin (7/5): Good -
- Kevin (8/5): perfect for a short get away - the veranda and babbling brook the peace and quiet
- Jasmine (10/5): Highy recommended for a cosy night away. -
- Matt (10/5): A Magical and Tranquil Escape at Parry’s Hideaway - My girlfriend and I had a lovely trip at Parrys Hideaway, a beautiful streamside retreat perfectly tucked away in nature. From the moment we arrived, we were captivated by the serene setting—completely secluded, with only the gentle sounds of the nearby stream and the whisper of the trees surrounding us. It was exactly the peaceful escape we were looking for.
The interior of the hideaway was magical—cozy, beautifully designed, and thoughtfully curated. Every little detail added to its charm, making it feel both luxurious and homely. The bed was extremely comfortable, ensuring a restful sleep, and the kitchen was well-equipped, giving us everything we needed to prepare meals together, which added to the intimate and relaxed atmosphere.
One of the most memorable moments was waking up one morning to the sound of an owl singing—a truly special experience that made us feel even more connected to the beauty of nature surrounding us. The peace and quiet here were unmatched, allowing us to truly disconnect, unwind, and appreciate the simplicity of the moment.
This hideaway is an absolute gem—perfect for couples or small families looking to step away from the busyness of life and immerse themselves in a tranquil, beautifully designed retreat. We left feeling completely refreshed and grateful for such a magical experience.
I highly recommend Parry’s Hideaway to anyone seeking peace, quiet, and a cozy, nature-filled escape. We will absolutely be returning!
- Sheena (9/5): Was lovely but cold, will come in the spring - Very rustic and quirky. Great view although we stayed in December so didn't get to enjoy it. We came during the storm and there was no wifi so no Internet or TV. We read but we were cold too but then it was December.
- Paul (10/5): Exceptional - Loved my post New Year break here. Very quiet, very comfortable, had everything I needed. Easy access and nice little touches like milk and a small bottle of wine, although I don't drink anymore but a nice touch.
The kitchen setup was excellent, the shower room perfect, and the bed incredibly comfortable. I'm definitely heading back at some point.
- James (9/5): Excellent - Fantastic little cabin. Very cosy. Milk, tea, even a small bottle of wine in the fridge.
- Sharon (8/5): Lovely stay in quiet location. - Quaint, clean and good value for money. Nothing.
- Louise (10/5): Exceptional - Beautiful place
- Jack (8/5): Very good - It was cosy Outdoor motion light turns off after seconds meaning your chilling and it's like a disco.
- Sherrie (10/5): Amazing stay. Highly recommended - Amazing little hideaway
- Alison (8/5): Very good - The little extras, wine, milk, biscuits etc. Would have been nice to have said a quick hello to the host/owner on arrival, but that's only my personal preference.
- Kevin (8/5): An ideal place for a short break, or overnight stop off. - Very nicely thought out and a little bit quirky, in a good way. No complaints.
- Kate (8/5): Very good -
- Richard (8/5): Very good - This robustly constructed wooden cabin is a great place to rest and refresh. Once you shut the white gate it feels like you have shut out the world and live in your own little retreat. There's a babbling brook just below the solidly built veranda.
Inside this 10x3 metre living space there is everything you need for a comfortable stay. Cooking devices are an oven/grill or rapid hot plate. Welcome water, wine, milk and snacks provided by the host and even dog snacks and nuts for the squirrels. The Host is responsive to enquiries. The WiFi code is clearly indicated in the property, but the Router Supplier Code is not so it takes a while to find the right one.
- Julia (9/5): Superb - We had a lovely couple of days here. We are walkers so the walk into town wasn't an issue for us (40 mins), others may think that is too far to walk
The hosts were lovely, left us drinks, fruit, dog treats, and even treats for the squirrels We struggled getting a pub that allowed dogs that were serving food (went to 4 different pubs), eventually found the Queen Vic that did allow dogs and the food was great. The other way (25 mins walk) we found The Saddlers which did a carvery (Saturday night) and allowed dogs which was great
- Polina (10/5): Unique as a setting - The location is off the beaten track, secluded and very private. Basic but suitable furniture proved to be well thought off and more than enough to provide comfort. It is a wonderful feeling to wake up near a rumbling stream. We loved it but it may not be everyone's cup of tea.
- Patrick (10/5): Exceptional - Easy access, on site parking, compact but with all the facilities you need. Very clean. Milk and biscuits. Great value.
- Benjamin (10/5): Exceptional -
- Adam (10/5): Relaxing and cosy accommodation. - Had everything needed for a lovely quiet stay near Exmouth. We loved sitting out on the decking and listening to the stream and sometimes rain (but staying dry!) About a 40 min walk from Exmouth station with great transport links to Exeter and beyond. We used Parry’s hideaway as a base to do coast path walking and some of the east Devon trail, the accommodation was lovely to come back after a long day walking. We hope to return next year.
- Laurence (10/5): Exceptional -
- J&c (9/5): Superb -
- Amy (10/5): Relaxing escape - Lovely property great location Nothing
- Aleksandra (10/5): Exceptional - A wonderful, almost fairy-tale-like place with a unique atmosphere. The hosts' exceptional hospitality, offering fruit, basic food products, and a bottle of wine, was remarkable. It is worth highlighting the very high standard of cleanliness, which is rare even in exclusive hotels. I would gladly return there someday...
- Amy (10/5): Lovely !! Can’t fault at all - Lovely and peaceful !! Only issue outside light comes on other than that amazing place
- Vishal (10/5): Perfect getaway to unwind and relax. - Parry’s hideaway stands by its name with pride- it’s a perfect little retreat away from the hustle bustle life, quietly situated outside busy roads, very cute and cosy cabin with all its quirky perks, once your inside you somehow forget about your worries about life. We immediately felt at peace from the get go. The welcoming snacks inc the wine made us feel extra special- what a wonderful gesture. The balcony is charming with its beautiful sounds of the stream was music to our ears day and night. It was a must to rebook our visit something we felt gravitated towards. Photos don’t do enough justice. Couldnt thank you enough. N/A
