- Gladys (8/5): An African Adventure - Our stay felt like an African adventure!
I liked the cleanliness of the room. The food was also really delicious, with a good variety for every meal, breakfast, lunch and supper.
The staff were very kind and helpful. You truly feel like you are home away from home.
I also loved the décor. It was very African and modest. We took lots of pictures.
The activities were the highlight of the entire trip. We did horse riding, cheese tasting, a boat cruise and a game drive.
I would recommend starting your activities as early as 9am. Have breakfast before then so you can fit in more. Each activity has a time slot, so starting early really helps. It’s the little details that make a place feel cosy. There was no carpet at the bedside, like the one shown in the picture for the type of room we booked.
The room also had a damp smell, so we had to open the windows. Perhaps having reed diffusers would help with this.
Besides that, everything else was good.
- Henri (5/5): Déçu des prestations offertes - Le calme. L internet Les repas, trop cher pour la quantity. Activités ne correspondaient pas trop a la publicité. 950 kwatcha pour caresser un animal seulement.
- Mwalindu (8/5): Awesome experience - Breakfast was awesome Dinner on the first day
- Whiteson (5/5): -
- Katin (5/5): Pleasant but the property is on its last leg - You get to see the animals first hand- and that alone is an extraordinary experience It has seen better days, AC and some electric outlets didn’t work, the electricity and WiFi are rationed
- Martina (7/5): -
- Mulweli (6/5): It was good - I appreciated their sustainability approach and commitment to regenerative practices. It’s encouraging to see a place that prioritises environmental stewardship, protects the landscape, and contributes to restoring natural ecosystems. Their conservation-focused and waste management efforts show a genuine intention to preserve nature for future generations, and that part of the experience was deeply inspiring. There was no complimentary water on arrival, which was disappointing after driving for two hours on a very rough road. You arrive feeling thirsty, yet they don’t even offer a simple welcome drink at reception. The food was the same for all three days, and with no on-site restaurant, there was no option to try anything different. There are no drinks at the boat to purchase and this information is not communicated. The drinks are extremely expensive, almost as if the prices are set only for international tourists. It’s sad to see an African, nature-focused business creating financial barriers that make it harder for Africans to fully enjoy the experience and build meaningful connections with nature. The accommodation prices are reasonable, but the drinks should at least be affordable.
Additionally, the accommodation did not have a backup system for the air conditioning during power outages, which made the stay uncomfortable at times.
- Tom (7/5): - Beautiful location and worthwhile game drive with buffalo, elephant, wildebeest, zebra etc as well as lions and cheetahs enclosed. Decent buffet food Buffet food was only option and this plus activities were pretty expensive considering what they offered. Resort is struggling with the load shedding issues so power was limited. Done activities were very basic and overpriced. Location involves about 16km+ on non-tarmac roads
- Edna (8/5): - My overall experience was great.
The staff members are wonderful and ever so willing to assist thier guests. The food and wine tasting..... felt like a rip-off, nothing like the photos shared on the page.
We had small cubes of cheese, no jam, no crackers, and the glass domes were chipped, hence letting flies enjoy the yummy cheese prior to our tasting.
The drive was nice and the staff are amazing.

- Gilad (5/5): Was OK, but could be much better with little efforts - As a safari lodge, one can make it a jewel, as the location is very nice. However, staff very much lack of training, very little knowledge of hospitality business, but all smiling, yes indeed. I ordered one room with double occupancy with two beds. Upon arrival the room had one bed. When complaining, and refusing, instead of a room of one bed and one improvised bed, two connecting rooms were provided. Thank you. Breakfast ok, but dull. No runner kitchen employee for replenishing, for every thing you have to explain and bring it to shift leaders' attention. Its mainly training even online so that employees see how a decent breakfast looks like visually. I hope that some serious hotelier can see the potential and repair things. Rooms need some real refurbishment.
- miti (8/5): It was enjoyable and restful but the food can be improved. - The location is good. It is away from the hustle and bustle of the city.
The scenery was good. The food did not meet my expectations. It is expensive but not quite as good. When you delay going for breakfast you find that some types of food have run out and requests for that was un attended to. There is also a need to invest in food warmers to keep the food at the right temperature, cold food does appeal to a lot of people. Also it would be better to have options on the food instead of insisting on the buffet as it is limited.
- Kartic (5/5): -
- Sanne (7/5): -
- Evans (5/5): Passable -
- Ernest (2/5): Very poor - The stuff didn't know some of the things to do others where rude there was a welcome sign for a previous guest
- Masauko (7/5): Good -
- Anderson (8/5): My short stay - Cheese tasting and game drive and lunch 1. The drive to chaminuka takes a toll on cars the gravel road is too bumpy.
2. You stop serving breakfast too early - 9hrs is too early for any resort.
- Mediafoxtravel (10/5): Exceptional -
- Laher (10/5): Exceptional -
- Gabriel (4/5): I paid for two nights and full activity couldn’t stay more than a day cause I was really uncomfortab - The meals are terrible, lunch was great though but dinner and breakfast are a no no Food and bed
- Richard (1/5): Very poor. Left early, was promised a refund and did not receive it. - The location is scenic Old tired and they don’t technically have a restaurant, they have a standard buffet which is very low quality and very very expensive. But you have no choice, there is no other restaurant or shop nearby, you’re effectively tricked into an expensive buffet
- Laher (8/5): Very good -
- Musonda (8/5): Very good -
- Siwawa (3/5): Poor - The staff are very welcoming The service delivery doesn't match their welcoming remarks. They do not keep time once taken for an activity. Makes you wait long hours.
The food is not nice. The lunch and dinner buffet dont even have proper options
- Jasveer (9/5): Superb -
- Bettina (7/5): Great get-away for a night. - The placement of the property. Too many tourists!
- George (4/5): Disappointing -
- George (4/5): Disappointing -
- Alice (7/5): Good - The activities were great, breakfast and lunch were amazing The room was not very clean, bathroom is poorly maintained. The dinner on Saturday night was sub standard.
- Sakala (7/5): Good -
- Lukundo (7/5): Good - Boating, game viewing and horse riding Bedding were dirty and shower hard a bad smell die to lack of disinfectants. There was also no warm water but for that we understand it was loadsheding
- Chanda (8/5): Great stay - Clean environment most especially the afternoon live band was epic. Limited options on breakfast for a person like me that doesn't eat pork and pork products. I could only have dry bread
- Shen (1/5): Bad -
- Sanana (4/5): You can improve and do better. Just because no one has ever complained doesn't mean you are exceptio - The Game view was good The food and room ambiance, not vacation feeling.
The first impression from reception was not welcoming
- K (7/5): Good -
- Mase (9/5): Superb -
- Ian (5/5): Passable -
- Aa (9/5): Superb -
- Sanjul (5/5): Passable - Upon reaching there the staff complained that our booking is not showing in their system.
Moreover there was a change in room we selected for Double deluxe with a terrace view, but initially there offered us a standard room stating that they don't have any double deluxe room. After so much discussion they gave the double deluxe room.
- Wineil (10/5): Perfect stay! Memorable! Will bring friends and family and again! A place to share to Safari lovers! - Raju and Gilbert the FnB crew pampered us and served us like King and Queen, the moment Raju learned that we dont eat game meat and we are vegetarian, he found a way to feed us. He served us fillets of tilapia, veggies and mushroom soups! That made our stay so memorable. It feels so good that even you are stuck in the middle of a Safari Lodge, starving, the staff cares about your needs and do their best to feed you. On the other hand, the staff at the bar area serving the drinks are quite tricky. The over charge you for you drink and dont give your change. They are somehow dishonest with their job. Unfortunately I dont remember his name but he is the guy managing the order on the P.O.S. When we rushed to catch our game ride, we remember that we havent paid both our ride and the our drinks, so I ran like hell to pay them, only to realized he overcharged me with my drinks. So I told him, I dont deserved dishonesty after doing our part to be honest, return back to the lodge and pay him. It was a mixed of experience but all in all this place is amazing, from entertainment, dinner was great because of Raju and Gilbert, the food was amazing and fresh, the game ride was fantastic we saw lots of animals, the cheese and wine tasting was an amazing experience to remember and the boat ride staff were so good at their job explaining all about the river and the birds, the game ride drivers were so careful, the game ride staff explained each animals we see and the woman at the activity booking center was so proactive. Its a pitty that the guy at the bar collecting payment for the drinks f*ck it! It could have been a perfect experience! dishonest staff at the bar who collects payment for the drink and overcharge customers, doesnt give you your change as well.
- Elizabeth (4/5): Below expectations - Game viewing Service especially food. We couldn’t order anything beyond chicken or sausage for dinner. When the same food came it was an hour late, very dry. Clearly over priced or not worth the price. I was embarrassed as I had promised my spouse a great time.
- Mulela (1/5): Bad - I booked for my Room through booking.com and they cancelled my booking in the morning when i was already on my way saying they dint pick my booking.
- Faith (1/5): Probably wont ever visit again. Service was terrible. Room was full of flies. Food terrible - Service is absolutely terrible!
- Madalitso (5/5): Bed was comfortable but experience not as portrayed in the pictures. - Bed was very comfortable. Food was expensive and not value for money. Buildings are tired.
- Aa (10/5): Plenty things to do and plenty of reason to visit Chamunika. - Full of nature. Aircons are old
- Gabriel (10/5): Exceptional - Staff were excellent, the food excellent, the room spacious and clean and an awesome view from the room The dirt road is in a terrible state, especially when you are not traveling with a 4 x4
- George (7/5): Good -
- Ute (9/5): Superb -
- Ute (8/5): Very good -
- Banda (7/5): Good -
- Anonymous (8/5): The place is very beautiful though the road is get there is very bad the stuff are kind especially Simon and Mr John - The view from our room The breakfast was limited
- Elisa (8/5): Very good -
- Chela (7/5): Good -
- Lynn (8/5): A lovely relaxing stay not too far from Lusaka. - A number of activities to keep one busy. There was boat riding, fishing, cheese tasting, game drives, walking with the cheater. Feeding the lions & walking with elephants were not available whilst there though. Food variety could be better. They ran out of some food options on the 1st night. Mattress could be firmer. Internet wasn’t great.
- Sophia (10/5): Exceptional -
- Catherine (8/5): Very good -
