Guest Reviews
- Sarah (1/5): Never again. - Disgusting, mold everywhere, dirty sheets , towels and bedding. Everything. Was a horrible stay and the manager is worthless zero help. We were there to get married. Got locked out of our room on accident , called management, no one was working in the whole motel. We had to get married in sweat pants as we couldn’t get into our room for our wedding clothes.
- Jose (2/5): If you are on a budget it’s a ok place to stay but they can really work on upkeep if the place. - The lobby. The rooms all smelled like they didn’t really clean them well. No toilet paper you had to ask the front lobby.
Walking in to the hall ways there was a damaged wall with rotting wood smell it wasn’t to enjoyable to stay here.
- Sheila (6/5): -
- Cameo (8/5): - The bed was amazingly comfortable and the location was easy to find. There was no drinks for purchase and when trying to find staff there was no one around.
- Lin (10/5): -
- Mike (1/5): Huge Disappointment - Nothing. Couldn't check in at specified times. I booked the room 4 months ago with check-in after 4. We went to check in at 4:35, and there wasn't anybody there. We called the number provided numerous times. Finally after a half hour someone answered, and said they would be there in 10 minutes to check us in. We waited another 40 minutes, and nobody showed up. We continued to call, but no answer. We had to find and book a different hotel. We also were not refunded our money.
- Apartments (1/5): Wouldn’t book again. - Location Booked a king room and got a room with two double beds
No hand towels
Mold on shower curtain
Dirty disgusting toilet
Dirty floor
Dirty comforter
Bare bones room
No drinking cups
No coffee
Could find staff at check out.
Phone goes to voicemail and mailbox was full.
Loud traffic outside
- Stephen (8/5): -
- Jaidan (5/5): one night was all I could do - beautiful lobby.
decorated room.
toothbrushes & toothpaste provided.
mini fridge. dirty room.
stains on sheets.
dead bugs on floor, possibly bugs on bed. dead bug near outlet.
clumps of hair in bathroom.
moldy shower curtain.
wifi connection was not great; roku tv kept going out.
- Chassidy (1/5): Awful. - The front desk girl was very apologetic and kind. The room was disgusting. Absolutely unacceptable as a hotel, motel, or any place to lay someone’s head. There was some brown splatters on the walls and the beds. The sheets were black, yellow and stained with who knows what. Our door was clearly kicked in and didn’t latch or close. The screws and the trim with sticking out and falling off. I asked for a refund so I could find some place else to sleep, and the front desk girl was in a panic bc her manager had quit already, and the phone lines were off, so my 3rd party couldn’t even communicate with the property to handle the situation. I expect a full refund and don’t advise anyone to stay here.
- Brody (1/5): -
- Cameron (3/5): Was ok. - Needs work to entire building water damage, room floors wasn't swept, stains on the sheets and prices for what it was is to high for what it looked like. Nice staff comfy beds but the pillows were too big and firm. Broken glass in the parking lot that wasn't cleaned in the 24 hours of being there, bags in the garage cans weren't fixed after the wind had messed it up. Said someone would be at the front desk till 10pm and after we checked in no one was seen again.
- Jerrald (4/5): The stay was adaquet but I would not choose to book there again. - Staff was friendly. The fresh remodel was nice. No hand towels in the the room. No W-Fi in the room. No TV service and no streaming available due to no available Wi-Fi in the room... Not sure why there was a TV on the wall. It took a while to get checked and the staff that checked us in spoke very broken English so it was hard to understand what took so long to make that happen. The refundable deposit listed on booking.com was $75.00 and when we checked in the refundable deposit that they charged was $150.00.
- Charles (5/5): -
- Le Roy (1/5): The receptionist didn’t speak English, the key didn’t work took her an hour to get the key to work. They ask for a secu - Nothing at all The place was very dirty. This place needs to be taken off the Amp.
- Rego (1/5): They said they were getting the managers approval. This was terrible and needs to be shutdown. - Nothing. The lobby was nice but it is a scam to cover for the disgusting conditions of the rest of the building. Everything. Let’s start with the outside of the building. The property looks decrepit. It is located just mere blocks from nice hotels and restaurants, yet they’ve made no effort to make the building or its surroundings presentable. The lobby looks to be where all of their budget went, as the rest of the building is rotting. There are ceiling tiles missing throughout. The carpets in the hallways reek of mold, the baseboards are falling apart, there are burnt out outlets where the ACs are in the hallways, making the hallways heat and humidity unbearable due to obvious water damage combined with no ventillation. The garbage disposal area is an open window room directly connected to the hallways. The stairways have no lighting or windows, and have insulation on the floor. This building likely has asbestos. DO NOT STAY HERE. It is unsafe. All of their doors do not lock at night. There is no security precautions whatsoever. The two outside doors are broken, one does not close, while the other has literal duct tape over the locking mechanism. The rooms look decent enough, but smell of mold and mildew, and I didn’t dare lay on the bed after seeing the condition of the rest of building. Now that we’re done talking about the conditions of the building, let’s talk about the two teenage girls working the desk. When I arrived, I was on a time crunch as I had a wedding to get to. I sat for 15 minutes waiting for them to serve the customer in front of me. Two workers should be able to serve two customers at the same time, but these girls had significant language barriers (not the major issue but frustrating none the less) which made it very difficult for them to complete basic tasks such as checking us in. Once it was my turn, they asked for my id and credit card. I looked away for one moment, and once I looked up, I noticed that one of the girls had taken literal photos of my ID and Credit card on their phone, and was sending it in a text message. When I questioned them
- Kimberly (1/5): Bad - Didn't stay there. They canceled my reservation and have yet to give me my refund. That I haven't received a refund after they canceled my reservation. No reason for why reservation was canceled. They need to honor my refund - this wasn't my fault.
- Kallandra (4/5): It was an OK stay - The lobby and the bed Too creepy
- Susan (3/5): We won't be going back. - The location was good. There was no breakfast- there was no staff available for help-
There were no accomodations in the room- chair, coffee pot, microwave, refrigerator
We had to bring our own garbage outside.
We had to get coffee at the gas station across the street. The lady there told us that is were the transients stay in the winter.
- Taylor (8/5): Very good -
- Fulton (7/5): Affordable price at a good location near main attractions! - The spot was convenient for the event we were there for. Great price, was a little worried about the reviews saying there was bugs, but there wasn't a single one. Stayed at this hotel for 3 years in a row and plan on coming back! No mini fridge or microwave in our room unlike previous years for some reason. Beds and pillows were hard.
- Juan (10/5): Exceptional -
- Mary (8/5): We attended a concert at The Legacy Theater, and this place was just down the highway a bit. - Good location, friendly staff, beautiful entry/office area! It was a little hard to get to the Kyoto Restaurant, but I think they were seal coating the driveway or something. We wanted to go there but not sure if it was even open. We were a little disappointed because our first date was at the Samuri Restaurant in Bloomington over 41 years ago, and we thought it would be like going down memory lane.
- Linda (1/5): Bad - Nothing we had to go to a different hotel. Rooms were dirty We didn't stay want a refund
- Moreira (1/5): Bad - They hold security deposit and never return to my card
- Jerome (10/5): Cute property, the whole thing kind of smacked over overgrown Pinterest project, but it was nice to - Clean. Obviously attention to detail. Cute rooms. Coffee maker, pleaaaaaaaase! 🥺
- Kim (2/5): Not a place you'll ever catch me at again! - The bed was very comfortable, and I like the idea of a balcony in the summer. Too cold to take advantage of it this trip. Floor boards not set in & can see and walk over the insulation underneath. Desk clerk disappeared after checking me in, and I went out to my car to get my bag. When I came back in, I couldn't find the stairs that he had directed me to climb. I wandered around the halls by myself for about 5 minutes before I finally found them. No one to ask, no where to ring for someone, and apparently no one watching via camera or they would have come out! No breakfast. The room deposit was more than the room cost. Big piles of garbage and dirty tools and stuff in a windowed room next to the door to the outside. Sign on the window implored us not to dump our garbage in there. It was not pretty. I will not be back.
- Jeremy (1/5): Bad -
- Kylie (1/5): I don’t even know where to start… - Roku Everything else
- Kadin (5/5): Passable -
- Nathan (6/5): Pleasant - Pretty good value for the stay Very out of date.
- Dezjorn (2/5): I would never stay here again! - Free parking included Bugs in lobby, bed, corners of room, and ceiling light.
- Vivianne (3/5): Poor -
- Harmony (2/5): Will not return, will not recommend. - there were oatmeal packets set out for breakfast there wasn't wifi, there wasn't a couch or chair on anything in room other than bed to sit. The TV was tiny and not hooked up to cable, wifi didn't work in our room? Sat in a hotel room with no tv, no wifi, no restaurant....really nothing that I thought I was getting. I could have easily found 100 other places for the same value that actually have the things advertised.
- Kim (7/5): Pleasant and clean with basic necessities. - Great location! Nice and quiet hotel. I understand the hotel was short staffed.
- Dan (5/5): Passable - The lobby is wonderful but the rooms are very minimal. No furniture except for the beds, frig on floor and small shelf for pocket items and microwave. No desk or place to put luggage on. Simple things that need to be done. Better job of cleaning needed. Also only seen someone at counter when we checked in, no one after that. No coffee or breakfast items at all. Could be nice but needs work.
- Lehman (8/5): Very good - the bed was comfortable. it was clean. no unnecessary frills, keeping the cost down. Just what we were looking for. needs a coffee in room or available in the lobby.
- Nick (1/5): Do not stay here - nothing ice maker was broken
vending machine was broken
room was not clean
online it shows it has a pool it does not
no coffee machine
- William (8/5): Very good -
- William (8/5): Very good -
- Tiffany (5/5): Passable - No furniture other than the bed. No furniture other than the bed
- Peter (1/5): Bad - It was clean There was no one ever here working. And the number they left at front desk had a full voicemail box. So we could not get ahold of anyone during our entire stay to get anything. Very very 😞 bad.!!!
- Greg (10/5): Exceptional -
- Ana (5/5): Ok - No breakfast No receptionist. Trash outside. No room service.
- Krug (7/5): Good - Price and location was great The TV didn't work.. I did get it to work using an app on my phone..
- Susan (7/5): Good -
- Miah (1/5): Bad - The tv was all taped up and hanging off the wall. Also have not received my deposit back and it has been 4 weeks. Called one week ago and they still have not sent it back.
- Kitana (4/5): Will be staying elsewhere in the future. - The location was the only good thing about this place. It wasn't horrible, but we will stay elsewhere in the future. The look of the lobby was the only nice thing. And the staff, although late, had a friendly personality. Everything. Felt like we were given the bare minimum at this hotel. The staff was not there at time of check in, and was 10 minutes late. We were told they needed to check on our room and didn't get our room key or into the room until 45 minutes after check in. Our room was very bare. Had only a microwave, fridge, and some hangers on a pipe(no other place for clothes or storage) one of the windows was blacked out and the lighting was terrible.
- Farkas (7/5): Good - Very unique hotel. Room was clean, bed was comfortable and staff were friendly. Our room was quite large and laminate floors. Our room did not have any chairs or table. Our balcony also did not have any furniture.
Traffic could be heard from our room.
- Siobhan (5/5): Definitely could have been better but for the price I can’t complain to much - The location is perfect and for the price you can’t beat it The sheets have stains, the shower curtains have stains and need to be replaced, the walls have stains, the pillows have stains so it could definitely be cleaner. When we checked our mini fridge there had been spilled milk or ice cream that had not been cleaned. The air conditioner was so loud every time it kicked on so we were up half the night.
- Sarah (10/5): Exceptional - I liked the look of the room felt home like. Everything was very well kept.
- Nathan (7/5): Good -
- Luis (8/5): Very good -
- Padmaja (1/5): Horrible, atrocious, we just escaped! - Nothing Lint on bed, no lock for front doors, anyone could enter hotel anytime, from room balcony you could easily cross over to neighboring room balcony and enter the room via back door of room . Very scary. Also no AC, filthy bathroom, we checked out immediately and found another hotel room…. Please get rid of this horrible hotel from booking.com
- Livingstone (1/5): Bad - Nothing The tv did not work.the back door of building was left open so anyone could walk in.
- Audrey (1/5): Creepy window in room - So I checked in during the day cleaned myself up and my daughter we had a long ride rushed out the room arrived back at the room around 11 and then I notice a random window in my room that lead know where I didn’t open it but the tape around it said it was tampered with there was a Hudge dip in the mattress as if someone 300 pounds never got out of it I tried multiple times to contact the hotel they did not contact me back so I grabbed my baby and my dog and rushed out the room it felt very uncomfortable and I’m a single mom that room was just creepy the lady that checked me in was super sweet and nice the room was clean other than them not relying to my emergency about the creepy window it would have been a decent stay. They text me the next day and said they just remodeled well if you did why didn’t you cover the creepy spray painted window in the room . Right odd. - Abraham (8/5): Very good -
- Miranda (10/5): Exceptional -
- Ashlyn (9/5): Superb - Room was super comfortable, ac worked very well Not enough toilet paper, no plunger
- Jennifer (6/5): Pleasant - We were told there was microwaves in the rooms and 1 of our rooms didn't have one. Sheets on the box spring mattress were dirty. In my room we found pills in the bed frame which is a big safety concern as I had 2 younger kids in my room. Ceiling in my room had stuff on it along with the walls. I had 2 rooms and it would of been nice to have had them closer together than down the hall.
- Monis (5/5): Passable -
- Missi (5/5): Good, not great. - This is certainly an upgrade from the former motel in this location. Compared to other lodging options in the area, this was priced at a much more affordable rate and better quality than other options with similar rates. The bed was comfortable enough. When I got to the motel, there was no one at the front desk, despite being there right at check in time. They had a bell i tried ringing multiple times, but no one was around. Eventually I noticed a phone number to call and a staff member finally made it to the front-- it took around 20 minutes for waiting and getting checked in.
Even keeping in mind that this is a motel, cleanliness was not a strength of this place. I found body hairs on the tub floor, used tissues in the ice bucket, manyyy bugs crawling around, and stains on linens and towels.
Getting ready with doing my hair, makeup, and outfit was difficult because there is one overhead light in the sleeping area and there is only a small circular mirror in a tight space above the sink. This wasnt a huge problem for my purposes, but I would have not been happy if I was needing to be well put together.
Everything seemed to be out of order or not running. I'm not sure how newly open this place is, but even an amenity such as a soda machine or snack machine weren't working/weren't there. I wouldnt necessarily expect these things from a typical road side motel, but this place markets itself as an elevated motel experience.
Lastly, there are no tables or dresser to use for unpacking clothes or having toiletries out and available. There is a skinny shelf-style ledge that can fit some small things, but not big enough for setting out clothes. I was traveling solo, so I used the other bed for my stuff, but it would have been annoying if I didnt have that option.
- Toni (1/5): We didn’t. We left and went elsewhere - Location The wait was over an hour to check in because they were cleaning the room. When we finally did check in the room was disgusting. Stain from god knows what on the sheets and bugs in every corner. No cleaning there.
- Jen (5/5): It was a great price. Wonderful staff, kind and warm staff. But the room and appearance is of the rooms that were glass - It was beautiful when we walked in. It wasn’t super clean smelling. We heard dogs barking inside the hotel. We got into our room and it hadn’t been cleaned very good. Towel (used) still hung on the back of the door from previous people that stayed. It hadn’t been swept and there was a nose ring on the floor so I know it wasn’t swept or mopped. There was blood on the bottom sheet. So it must not have been changed.
- Johnson (7/5): Good -
- Kim (6/5): Thanks. I left a book and would like it back. Do you mail them? - Beds were nice No ice in ice machine
- Dennis (10/5): Exceptional -
- Destiny (8/5): It was totally worth it for a 2 day stay !! - The lobby was really nice and the rooms looked liked the pictures online. The room was clean and Catherine at the front was very friendly and polite check- in and Check - out were a breeze and our deposit was refunded the day after we left with no issues we had some minor internet issues but they were fixed as soon as they were informed of the issues
- Hannah (7/5): Good - Great location for a reasonable price We booked a room with a king bed and the box spring was for two doubles, causing us to sink in the middle.
- Destiny (9/5): Superb - It is a small hotel, very quiet. Staff was super nice! It says there is a restaurant. It is not in the hotel. Simply owned by the same person(s). We did go, and have hibachi, and that was WONDERFUL!
- Malachi (7/5): Good -
- Hynes (10/5): Exceptional -
- Alan (9/5): Good, clean, well located, overall pretty good but not perfect - It was clean, pretty, and simple, I feel like the price for what we got was really really good but accurate, really liked it but not perfect or luxurious Vanity/sink could've been bigger, you could barely put a bar of soap on it
- Leboshira (7/5): It was ok I mean this wouldn’t be the 1st hotel I’ll pick to stay at again but it’s definitely not the worst - It was quiet Nobody at front desk .. rooms not as clean as they could be
- Dennis (10/5): Exceptional -
- Joseph (4/5): Staff were friendly and helpful but building needs repair and upkeep to make for an enjoyable stay. - Good location that was very nearby to a family wedding at Mount Olympus within the Dells area. Room was very basic but was all that was needed for our stay. Liked room accessibility from either inside the hotel or from the parking lot outside. Staff were friendly and helpful during the check-in process. Lighting could have been better -- the room was quite dark with only one light in the main bedroom ceiling, one additional light on the nightstand between the tables, and two lights for the bathroom and the vanity just outside there. Bed skirts underneath the mattresses were visibly dirty. The main hallway down from our room (103) had standing water puddling up from your shoes and there was a distinct smell of mold and mildew near rooms 104 and 105. Vending machines were not working at the time so you could not purchase a bottle of soda if you wanted to.
- Ashley (1/5): Nice location, not quite pleased with anything else. - Cheap, lobby was newly decorated and quite nice Room flooding because of poor foundation( we think) lies about the water on the floor that they had prior knowledge of( from another guest checking in couple days prior. The room also needed more lighting, trash cans and storage/shelving capability. We also found out that the screen was broken and crooked because of a previous attempt to break in
- Yami (10/5): Exceptional -
- Pankow (8/5): Very good - Was clean No microwave.1
- Benitez (3/5): It was not the best experience but she seemed like a nice woman. It’s unfortunate. - The front desk room, it looked nice First we had no shower curtains, towels and linens were dirty, I also noticed the last day we didn’t have batteries in our fire detector. God forbid something happened and there was a fire. I will say she came to change the linens and put up shower curtains.she seemed like a nice person but I would never stay there again or recommend anyone.
- Jamie (8/5): Very good - Price was good & it was clean Very basic motel, no amenities
- Caleb (10/5): Exceptional -
- Erika (8/5): Very good - Newly remodeled. Very cool, modern decor, especially in the lobby. Seemed pretty clean. Easy self check-out. No towel bars or hooks in bathroom or by sink.
The pillows were all very big and thickly stuffed. I was hoping for at least one to be more flat.
Window curtains, when closed, cover the A/C unit.
- Isabell (7/5): It’s was excellent the pillows are a bit hard but the bed tho was like laying on a cloud it was so nice would stay again - It’s so gorgeous and so nice The pillows are a bit hard but other than that it was amazing
- Crusita (8/5): Good stay. - This was a great hotel, family new, so they don't offer a continental breakfast or coffee. And their ice and beverage Machines weren't working. They are short staffed. Otherwise they had ckean facilities. Very personable staff. Lack of coffee or coffee makers in room. Machines not in service, i.e ice, beverage and snack.
- Jordan (1/5): BUGS! Nasty! - Pretty when you walk in Absolutely disgusting! Bugs everywhere- pretty positive it was bed bugs. We spoke to the manager regarding refund and he was absolutely horrible to us along with the front desk lady! Would never in my life go here
- Diaz (6/5): The stay for the value is great! - The price was amazing for a 2 night stay. The location also fit our need for the weekend. I am glad we had free parking and their were toiletries provided. The place smelled really clean which is nice. The beds are comfy which is a huge plus! If you don't like fluffy pillows you may want to consider bringing your own. It is located 1min away from Moosejaw Pizzeria and Brewery which has some amazing pizza, just an added benefit! I know this is a newer hotel since this was their second season open so they are still getting their feet wet so overall it was a good stay, just some minor updates. The room does not get dark at night as there is outside light that comes through the curtains maybe get some darker ones moving forward. We noticed that there were a few stains on the sheets that looked like makeup or dirt, they may want to check those when setting up a guest room. The floor could have been cleaner, it just seemed like the room hadn't been used in a while(which makes sense as the season just started) so a little dusty. The stuff was nice but were trying to vacuum at 10 O'clock at night and the doors are not sound proof lol.
- Joann (8/5): Very good - We were confirmed with a 'king' bed. Got 2 doubles instead. She said the only king bed available was on the 2nd floor. No elevator and I didn't want to try to climb those winding stairs. We had no hand towels or wash cloths. Had to ask at the desk to have a hand towel and wash cloth brought to the room. Could not get ice as there was no one at the front desk when we wanted some in the morning.
- Milliron (10/5): Exceptional -
- Johannes (6/5): it was ok - they had none.... location was good a two star motel at the cost of a four star motel
- Lynn (3/5): Poor - Bed was comfortable No chairs to sit on, no coffee maker, no washclothes. There was such a gap around the door which let a lot of light in from the hallway all night. Very small TV. Lighting was not sufficient in room.
- Shelley (6/5): Pleasant - the shower was nice Bed didn't have a fitted sheet or a mattress pad. Just had a flat sheet tucked in. No other furniture in the room besides the bed.
- Karen (5/5): Not worth the money. Stayed at The Vue for same price and it was way better. - Look remodeled. I had to wait outside for about 10 minutes for someone to show up so I could check in.
Floors were dirty.
Didn't feel very secure. Window looked like someone had tried to get in before.
- Amber (8/5): Will stay again - It's close to the venue Always takes a long time to check in.
- Amy (1/5): I know it looks like a hotel and it books like a hotel, but this place is not a hotel. Do not do it! - Nothing. Except maybe the fact that it was so ridiculous that it was funny. Everything!!! From the moment we pulled in the parking lot. There were no cars there. When we walked inside there was no one in the ridiculous lobby. We ran into someone in the hallway and I wasn’t sure if he was a staff member or someone looking for a room. He asked if we had a reservation there and I said yes and then he took us into the lobby to check us in. the lobby was filthy and eclectic and bizarre. The counter where the coffee pot was, was covered in garbage. They clearly hadn’t made coffee for any guests in quite some time. Then he couldn’t check me in because he couldn’t figure out how to use the computer. He had to call somebody to come help him. That person checks me in and tells me the cost now has a $75 security deposit. But claimed that we would get that back. Also gave us two room keys and said make sure you return them otherwise will charge you $25 each for them if they’re lost. He checked us in. We walked down the hallway to our room. The room was bizarre. There was one light recess in the room not even centered and it was horrible lighting. I was going to turn the TV on, wouldn’t turn on realized it wasn’t plugged in. And then there was a small little lamp on the end table I tried to turn on and it didn’t work, and I realized oh that wasn’t plugged in either so it was like everything was unplugged. I honestly think we were probably the first people to stay at that hotel in ages. They seem shocked when we checked in, I don’t know that they ever get people to book rooms there. so I truly believe that it is a money, laundering facility for pushing drugs. There was literally no one else staying there. So obviously, everyone else knew what we did not know. The next day when I went to check out, I walked into the creepy lobby and there was no one to be found so I called the number on the sign taped to the counter, and a lady answered and told me to just leave the keys on the counter. Told her I want my security deposit back and she said ittomorrow.
- Ali (10/5): all good - all good all good
- Sarah (1/5): Bad - It is a very deceiving environment. We actually walked out.
- Mary (8/5): Very good - No coffee avaiable.
