• claudia (10/5): Wonderful, welcoming and relaxing place to stay - A peaceful island only a stone throw from the mainland, and truly wonderful staff the hotel was immaculate and relaxed The rooms are slightly dated, but that is very clear from the photos.

• Nada (7/5): - Le parking privé pour la voiture avec navette privative et bateau privé de l’hôtel pour aller sur l’île. Le personnel aide pour amener les bagages jusqu’à la chambre. L’île est paisible, le cadre est très reposant. Le personnel est disponible et prêt à vous assister. Le ménage est impeccable. Aucune transparence sur les tarifs du Minibar et sur les services annexes (laundry). Ils ne sont affichés nulle part dans la chambre. Repas au restaurant avec des montants excessifs et sans détails. On est repartis avec un supplément qui n’était pas prévu. Un conseil pour l’établissement, afficher les prix de l ensemble des services non compris dans la réservation. Soyez transparent! Je vous recommanderais!

• Nicholas (10/5): Exceptional - Smooth check-in. Despite being on an island the process was fast and seamless. The island itself was relaxed and the beach is directly in front of the hotel.
• Vedran (10/5): We are 2nd time here in less then a year, feels like coming back to family or an old friend. Everyone is welcoming, plea - Cozy, clean, good sleeping, beachfront, secured beach spot and sun beds .
• Rebecca (8/5): Pleasant stay, but below expectations - We enjoyed our stay at Hotel Spongiola. Our room was generous in size. The beds were very comfortable. We had a triple room with a small balcony, consisting of 2 separate bedrooms, which was great. The waiting staff in the restaurant were lovely and made us feel welcome. The food at dinner was very nice and reasonably priced. The little beach in front of the hotel is very pleasant and the wooded area, which makes up one half of the island, is lovely, with lots of benches to rest and enjoy the view over the sea. We also had a great time kayaking around the island. We found some of the staff very reserved. Polite and helpful when asked, but not very forthcoming and warm. The main air conditioning in our room was not working, and nobody bothered to look into fixing it during our stay, despite us reporting the problem straight away. No tea or coffee making facilities in the room. No freely available drinking water, and the tap water does not taste good. Breakfast was good, but you have to ask for any specials and for top ups at the buffet when items are missing, or they will not necessarily be offered or replenished. Freshly squeezed orange juice was promised but not available. The coffee from the available machine is not great. The shuttle service on and off the island was usually prompt and great. It would be helpful to have more detailed explanations of where to go when you first arrive, though. We ended up driving around for clues and getting stuck in the congested lanes near the ferry point upon arrival. We had an incident for which the hotel sincerely apologised, when we came back one evening and nobody answered the hotel phone to come and pick us up from the mainland. It took 45 minutes to get a response, which seemed to be due to an internet outage, and left us worried about how to get to the hotel for the night. It would be good to make an alternative number available to guests to prevent this from happening. The van used for transport from the car park to the ferry is not exactly luxurious and stuffy. Although the staff are very nice. The indoor pool was nowhere near as nice as it looks on the pictures and was not inviting. We had to ask to see it, clearly it was not being used much. We were not shown the advertised fitness studio. Neither facility is signposted at all, and it seemed like you were not expected to make use of them.

• Eugen (9/5): Good place for family with dog - The hotel has a perfect location on a small island. There is everything one needs near by: direct beach in front, several restaurants and small shop in walking distance. The room has air-condition and is spacious. The breakfast are rich and tasty. The also includes very deep indoor pool which in summer is not used by other guests so you can have full privacy. Our dog was also happy in the hotel. Dogs are allowed on the beach but not allowed to go to the water, however, few meters away are entries to water for boats which are perfect for a dog. There is also a garden hose (north side of the hotel) which could be used as a dog shower. The hotel has two parking lots in the city - not close but transport is provided. The dog fee of 30 Euro/night is unreasonable high. The shower on the beach requires coins that could be picked up at the reception - we found out while checking out. The bar at the beach has only drinks and ice cream - no snacks.

• Mervi (10/5): A lovely family-run small hotel with private beach and good location to explore Croatia - This small family-run hotel is a gem. It is situated on a small, picturesque island with no cars, a short, one-minute boat ride from the mainland. The hotel's boat is always available to go to the island or back to the mainland. We had our car parked on the mainland and made almost daily excursions to other areas in Croatia, and the logistics worked perfectly. The hotel has a private beach, and the staff reserves specific sun beds for you daily, whether you use them or not. It is nice to know that whenever you feel like swimming, you have a place right next to the sea. The hotel is very clean and neat, and the breakfast is 5-star with a lot of fresh selection. Geographically, the location worked perfectly for us, with only a 20-minute ride to Krka National Park and Skradinski Buk waterfalls and a one-hour drive to Split, from where we also made island excursions. Best of all, the hotel staff is lovely. They are very helpful and seem to like their work genuinely. I needed a doctor during my stay due to an ear infection and got all the help I needed. We were told 80% of the guests are returning guests, which I do not doubt to believe. I traveled with a childhood friend this time but would like to bring my family. My sincere thanks to hotel manager Nino and your lovely team, Mauro, Ivana, Roger, the captain, and everyone else, for making our holiday special!

• Filip (10/5): Vacation without a care in the world - The staff is amazing. The beach is right in front of the hotel and with your room you get a reserved place on the beach. The food is delicious. The room is pretty big and clean. Since it is a small island there aren't many people so it doesn't feel crowded.

• Martin (8/5): Very good - Very quiet, unique location, added to adventure, stall very helpful and eager to help. Parking issue needs addressing. Psrking too remote! Some facilities offered with hotel are actually third party and opening is demand dependent.
• Wolfgang (10/5): Best holiday for long time!!!! - Nino and Marco are the best!!! in general; all staff is very friendly, everything is so flexible. The beach was perfect, clean and the food was delicious!!! Nothing, just perfect! Except: our holidays were too short.
• David (9/5): Great family experience at the hotel - Location was great for a chilled family holiday, Small beach directly in front of hotel with beach bar:). The island has about 4-5 restaurants all very good, no cars which which really gives you a total feeling of relaxation when your out with family. I like the staff, very friendly and happy to help with anything. If travelling back to this part of Croatia I would stay at the hotel again. We didn't have a car so only visit the local Aqua Park approx. 6km away, KrKa 16km, and Sibenik 8km, we managed easily via taxi. Also if travelling by bus from Split you can request the driver lets you off in Brodarcia which saves from doubling back from Sibenik. Taxi's from mainland Local Taxi - Expensive Hotel Taxi - Good value Uber - cheap but unreliable The only thing I could comment on would be the the absence of a shower screen in our bathroom. I would also suggest updating some of the room furniture to more modern standard...apart from that everything else was amazing.
