Guest Reviews
- Melissa (8/5): Good place to stay as near attractions - Good central location, close amenities, good choice of restaurants, cafe's and takeaway options Inflatable mattress was dirty and the lighting was too low
- Tina (10/5): Very comfortable. - Very quirky little annex, nice and cosy and lovely host .
- Neil (10/5): -
- Grace (8/5): -
- Janette (7/5): Relaxing but to far from beach & main shops - The hot tub & quirky Kitchen to small, bathroom small & smelt damp after a shower the bathroom was very wet. Garden area was small. Property half hour walk to main shops & beach
- Lee (10/5): It was wonderful after a stressful stay elsewhere that week from Air bnb - Everything was perfect đ A beautiful place. All stunning touches and love the bits left milk& bread fruit etc . Very relaxing đ
- Mary-Jane (10/5): - Beautiful decor, felt very luxurious. Could do with a slightly bigger kitchenette, a microwave maybe.
- Emily (10/5): Incredible - I thought it was a great place, it was small, intimate and i loved the hottub N/A
- Carra (10/5): A lovely little find! Would highly recommend! - Small but mighty, has all amenities you could possibly want, the hosts have clearly put a lot of thought into how to make the most of the space and ensure guests have all they need. The little extra touches (coffee etc, toiletries) were lovely as well. Near the beaches and town centre too which is ideal. Dog friendly and free parking are huge pluses! Thereâs nothing not to like!
- kelly (9/5): Fancy hideaway home - Great accommodation, high-end finish, and very comfortable. Lovely touch with welcome pack. Perfect location. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Whilst the patio doors are great, not having a window to open on night was a little strange. There was a fan to help stay cool.
- clair (9/5): -
- Judie (8/5): -
- Joanne (7/5): - It was a good space and useful to have a kitchenette. It was lovely of the host to leave some essentials for our arrival eg milk and bread. The host communicated well when we asked for WiFi. The property could be excellent if it was cleaner. The hot tub was not clean, the kitchen was particularly dirty and the bottom bed sheet.
- Jessica (10/5): Fantastic - Perfect location. Free parking right outside. Great communication. As described and very clean and comfy. Would book again.
- Comorah (10/5): Exceptional -
- Hollie (9/5): Cute and compact - Cute and compact, had everything you needed for a mini break. Instant hot water tap, hair dryer and iron available. Lots of on street parking. Easy drive to the beach or local parks. 35min walk to the beach which was easy to navigate. Host was very responsive as had a delay with check in as arrived before it had been cleaned. Goodies left as a welcome was very nice. Didn't try the hot tub so can't comment on it. It was very hot even with the fan as there are no windows only the bifold doors but we did go in a heatwave so it might be ok with normal UK weather
- Sheryl (9/5): Superb - Everything about it was lovely couldn't of asked for more. Very clean and comfortable and even though other gardens and houses are very close still felt nice and private. That it said beachfront property or near the beach a 25minute walk is not near.
- Denise (10/5): Exceptional - Beautiful little place. So stylish and comfortable.
Would definitely recommend and the little touches were very much appreciated đđ
Would definitely use this place again.
- Sasha (8/5): Very good - Love the shower absolutely amazing.
Colours go amazing.
By the looks alot of time and money has gone into this place.
Love the chocolate fingers, bottle of fizz and fresh fruit Unfortunately it wasn't very well cleaned, which was a real shame as it's a lovely place.
Floor still had bits all over it plus a chip was by the sofa. Which I've left their. The cleaner doesn't pull the sofa out to be cleaned (chip left by the side of it near the wall).
- Anastasia (8/5): Lovely stay - Hot tub /
- Amy (5/5): Good once settled - Quaint and great for just me Tricky to get ventilation, especially in the bedroom.
Information provided by booking.com for check in was non existent, gave the wrong address and key lock code. Thankfully someone was in at the address given who knew where to find it and the lock box info, which he forwarded to me, but I had none of this before I arrived.
- Kate (10/5): Exceptional - The property was clean, cosy and well equipped with a comfy bed, fabulous shower and gorgeous, warm, hot tub ready to use on arrival and the host left some nice touches to help make a very enjoyable stay. Nothing not to like about the property
- Jessica (10/5): Cosy, clean & unique! đ - Everything was perfect! Very clean and we arrived to a bottle of Prosecco (which was a lovely touch for my birthday thank you!)
The hot tub was very clean and a great addition to the stat!
- Emma (9/5): Home away from home - Pictures don't do this lovely place justice, was blown away at how nice and cosy this lodge was.
Little touches upon entering with biscuits and milk was very kind and welcoming.
Whole lodge was clean and well presented.
Owner was exceptionally helpful with the details on email and quick responses.
The hottub was an added extra surrounded by lights for evening bliss.
- Lewis (10/5): Exceptional -
- Emma (10/5): Perfect! - Perfect little trip. Small but mighty! Absolutely loved the hot tub, the bed was super comfy and although it's small, it's everything we needed. Really appreciated the milk, bread, butter and biscuits left for us. Made us feel very welcome.
- Gemma (8/5): It was comfortable. The hot tub is nice and the facilities are good. Felt a bit concious that it is working a small conf - It was clean. However, I did have to clean some of the cups/utensils before use. It has been decorated beautifully and everything is perfect for the type of property it is.
- Kelly (10/5): A beautiful lodge with excellent facilities. The little touches made it that much special. My friend and I throughly enjo -
- Lawes (8/5): Very good -
- Danny (1/5): Rubbish cold not worth staying - Please do not use this lodge it's not a lodge it's a summer house in a garden with no cover over the hot tub with loads of people windows over looking the hot tub plus no heating working and tv does not work I was there 15 mins and left
- Mark (10/5): Exceptional -
- Martha (10/5): Lush! - Property was gorgeous! Decor was stunning with a beautiful garden, clean and comfortable, perfect for a little getaway! Had a slight issue with the key lock box but Issac was very quick to help, really appreciate it!
- Carla (10/5): Peaceful, relaxing a well needed night away. - Was gorgeous, I wish we stayed for the whole weekend! Hot tub was great and clean, shower was powerful and hot and the bedroom was perfect we couldâve slept all day such a comfy bedđ Nothing I didnât not like about the property but maybe some more toilet roll and a tea towel is all but all in all a PERFECT stayđ
- Gerardo (7/5): Nice lodge with almost everything you need. Host provided Prosecco and treats - We made our own breakfast. Information regarding location of property was incorrect. Not a beachfront property. Some lights not working. No toilet roll on arrival however host did rectify this quickly. No tea towel. Found TV too high to watch as it put a strain on our necks. Information pack regarding area, bus timetable and facilities ie eating places would have been useful.
- Michaela (10/5): Exceptional - Lovely little place. Great communication. Had everything we needed for a couple of nights away. Easy to find with good directions given beforehand.
- Jacob (10/5): Great repeat stay -
- Garry (10/5): Excellent. Personal touches were brilliant -
- Anjaly (10/5): Exceptional -
- Petru-daniel (10/5): Gorgeous place !! - Everything was perfect! Nothing, except the location (it takes a bit longer to find the entrance) maybe I was the only one who find this hard but I travelled a lot and this kind of information must be a priority.
- Emily (8/5): Lovely little find - Gorgeous well decorated little place. Lights under the garden umbrella were a nice touch. Really cozy âhome away from homeâ vibes and clearly has had a lot of effort put into it. Check in instructions not clear but host did rectify quickly. Had to chase up for the wifi password and there was no kettle at the property to make tea or coffee which was odd as there was milk left in the fridge etc.
Very warm with no windows and not really any area where you want to sleep with the door open.
- Oliver (10/5): Exceptional -
- Grahaem (8/5): Very good -
- Steve (8/5): The place was really tidy, had everything we needed for the couple of days we were there. -
- Karen (8/5): Very good - Excellent facilities Further away from beach than we were led to believe, booking.com advertises as beach front. I don't class a 20 min walk as beachfront, however if you are unable to walk far excellent public transport
- Anne (10/5): Exceptional -
- Ana (8/5): Very good - Good property .
- Linda (10/5): Exceptional - Completely private.
- Will (8/5): Lovely stay, would definitely come back - Excellent location within walking distance of a beach or a short drive to all beaches. Brilliant hosts and great use of the space. The hot tub is a lovely addition in the garden area Perfect for a couple, but no more people purely just because of the space
- Katherine (8/5): Very good - We really liked the decor and the hot tub
- Molly (10/5): The absolute best. - This property was perfect, everything so clean and so spacious I would 1000% book again. Anything I thought I would need to bring I never needed to bring! It was amazing everything there was there for you to use so you didnât have to bring like shampoo, conditioner, wash stuff, any types of toiletries and lots of other things. This is such a lovely get away we canât wait to book again as we enjoyed it that much. The owners put so much thought into this place itâs truly amazing thank you â¤ď¸ There was nothing not to like- one thing I would say is the hairdryer that is there is melted, but this obviously isnât their fault and someone else may have done this, I had already brought my own so I didnât affect me at all. I was upset that the LED lights didnât work on the parasol due to it being broken but again this isnât their fault and could have been past guest!
- Jack (10/5): Exceptional - Property was clean and exactly as advertised if not better. Issac was a brilliant host to messaged me all extra details I needed to know as well as adding a couple of extra touches to the property. Brilliant location and fantastic place thank you for having us! None.
- Emily (10/5): Absolutely fantastic and well worth the money! - The property was modern clean and smelt incredible! The hosts left us some Prosecco and chocolate biscuits and some bread, milk and butter. Extremely thoughtful and the perfect little break â¤ď¸ Nothing everything was perfect
- Ryan (10/5): Had an excellent stay and would recommend to anyone, we will be visiting again - Everything was perfect, the decoration was unique and stylish, the bed was comfy, the shower was powerful and hot, all the extras like the hot tub, bbq, instant boil tap ect. Just added to the luxury I would highly recommend. There wasnât anything.
- Ryan (10/5): Great cozy accommodation for visiting Bournemouth - Has everything you need and nice and private
- Diane (10/5): Lovely - Quirky It was fine
- Barry (10/5): Exceptional - Superb quality and a beautiful space, my wife's birthday weekend away was a success staying here. To be honest I wouldn't change a thing, everything was perfect.
- Michele (10/5): Exceptional -
- Jim (10/5): Excellent location great facilities must visit - Immaculately clean, great facilities friendly and professional hosts Absolutely nothing was amazing
- Hanif (7/5): Good -
- Peter (7/5): A very enjoyable short stay . - A very comfortable bed. Limited kitchen space. We did not know how to get into the property but that was your fault as you were supposed send us details and you did not.The owner could not have been more helpful .helpful.we had chocolate biscuits and milk and butter.
- Caroline (10/5): Exceptional -
- Warrick (4/5): Hard work I am afraid. - The hot tub Bedroom lighting was awful, very dark, also incredibly stuffy and warm, fan offered very little help. Shower temperature boiling hot, constantly having to re adjust. Bedroom draws were a struggle to open and close, no cupboard to hang anything, kitchen a huge let down! Self catering, no where to put your food that isnât going in the fridge, one drying cloth that didnât really dry anything other than leave fluff all over the plates and bowls. Tv took over the dining table, asked for a microwave and there wasnât one left for us, Isaac did offer to bring one round after I chased it up but I declined as there was absolutely no where to put it if you have the cooker out. Woke up one morning to find a bag of ice which had melted in the freezer and water had dripped right through the fridge. Not enough privacy in jacuzzi area, easily over looked by owners property. Boiling water out the tap doesnât taste the same as boiled water from a kettle which is needed.
- Christina (8/5): A lovely, pleasant getaway but would benefit from a deeper clean - We have just had a two night stay at Fotescue Lodge, situated at the back of the owners garden but fenced off so still private.
Firstly I just want to recommend the responsiveness of the owners, quick replies with messages & very quick to sort things for us.
The location was great for us - a 10 minute drive from the beach and located in a quiet street with plenty of parking. Local restaurants around a 10 minute walk away too. We traveled to Durdle Door which was only 40 minutes in the car, outstanding views.
The hosts recommended some dog friendly restaurants for us following a request sent by me and we tried one those recommendations and was really impressed by the food and drinks and our dog was allowed on the restaurants sofa so we could relax for a while.
The lodge itâs self is absolutely beautiful, the decor is outstanding and the hot tub is absolutely great, there is two windows that overlook the hot tub but with the parasol up it is entirely private - a great getaway.
I loved the boiling tap for a cuppa. No complaints at all with the layout of the property. Spacious and perfect for a short stay.
The area its self is so peaceful - we didnât hear another soul during our stay and we really enjoyed being here minus the few faults that could easily be improved. I was happy to bin the sock & do the washing up prior to use but for the price we paid for 2 nights I would really have hoped the place was spotless with an employed cleaner.
We had a fantastic time in Bournemouth and enjoyed our trip, the hosts are very responsive to any request and ultimately we didnât find bothering them and arranging another clean was worth it for the two night stay. A minimal issue but still one for me to hesitate booking again just because of the price we paid. For us there was a couple of little things -
We had driven two and a half hours to get there and on arrival there was no toilet roll and the soap dispenser was empty in the bathroom, we messaged the host and within 15 minutes she had arrived with toilet roll, hand soap and a bottle of Prosecco which was very kind and appreciated.
There is two things that would make me hesitate at staying here again, the cleanliness being one - From my understanding there is a cleaner but on arrival my dog pulled out a dirty black sock which was just at the side of the sofa by the wall, the cup and plates we had to rewash prior to use as there was still marks on them and the place hadnât been dusted, the TV is attached to the wall and hangs and behind the TV is thick with dust but you have to touch that area to swivel the position.
All things along with the soap and toilet roll should be covered by the cleaners I believe.
The second is the bed, the bed is comfortable but loud when moving on it, both myself and my partner are light sleepers and woke often when one of us rolled over - not a big issue if you are only staying for a few nights like myself but a longer stay would have been a issue for us with such disturbed sleep.
The room doesnât have a window to allow fresh air and when we arrived we both noticed it smelled a bit âstuffyâ maybe because it was so hot outside? A plug in air freshener or diffuser could definitely help. I had an air freshener in the car that we used during the stay.
- Louise (10/5): Exceptional -
- Fullalove (9/5): Lovely place, lovely accommodation, lovely hosts. - Lovely accommodation and very accommodating hosts, made sure we have lots of nipples and extras upon arrival. Lovely surprise! Could use a kettle and the bed frame was a little unsturdy.
- Mark (10/5): Excellent little getaway lodge - Perfect lodge for a couple looking to get away. Located in a quiet neighbourhood with some excellent restaurants and takeaways nearby. The garden is private and not overlooked.
- Ellie (6/5): Pleasant -
- Clayton (3/5): Donât book it unless they change the new bed - Kind host. Beautiful decoration Couldnât sleep on that bed unless you are lighter than a kid. One side of bed was collapsed in the midnight thatâs how we found out that they used black tape to fix the broke Woden panel under the bed. Would really like to ask for refound, as we paid for having good sleep during staying.
- Jane (9/5): Great - Well designed and located
- Florence (8/5): Very good - Lovely little getaway. Very tastefully decorated.j Only ixsue was the shower was too hot!!
- Sharon (5/5): Not really what i expected re location of lodge - The property was decorated well and was very clean âŚ. Was also nice to be left milk bread butter prosseco and biscuits .
Tho in owners back garden it did feel private as had blinds and big parrasole in garden from overlooking neighbours. Unfortunately it did feel like a shed in the owners back garden which I didnât realise until I read all the reviews when I returned home âŚ. So my fault on that âŚ. But it doesnât say on description that property in back garden. Also the hot tap was more miss that hit .. so we gave up I did message the owner at 11 am to report hot tap but didnât get back to me till I sent another text at 9pm . She did offer to buy a small kettle but was evening of our second night and we only had 3 nights . But maybe a small travel kettle might be helpful for future guests.
The tv also didnât work for two nights out of three we did message owner at 11am but didnât get back to us till 9pm and we only had one more nite , so we didnât see the point but was working last night we were there . The owner did kindly waver the ÂŁ20 dog fee for the inconvenience which was kind .
- Mason (10/5): Perfect little get away - Very nice space, very cosy and relaxing.
- Jacob (10/5): Perfect, relaxing solo stay - Fortescue Lodge is a gem. Check in instructions were great, parking was easy, the property was spotless on arrival, the hot tub was ready for use, and a bottle of prosecco and biscuits were very kindly left on the table. The bathroom whilst small is luxurious, the shower especially. Living room area is well lit and comfy with a big television. Nice kitchenette; the instant boiling water tap was great. Bedroom was spotless and comfy again. The hot tub was easy to use, very relaxing, and the garden felt very private. Fairly easy and quick to get into the city centre (I used the Beryl rental bikes/scooters) - I quite liked the fact this place was in a slightly quieter area of Bournemouth. Very comfortable stay, good value, would stay again. I have nothing negative to say :)
- Muldowney (10/5): Exceptional - Lovely night cozy private little lodge well worth the stay
- Chelsea (10/5): Lovely little lodge - great hot tub, highly recommend! - Lovely little lodge in a great location. We stayed here for two nights with our two small dogs to celebrate NYE & our anniversary. Very clean and comfortable place with everything you need! We had a bit of trouble connecting to the wifi but I contacted the host via message and had a reply within 5 minutes which was great. The hot tub was ready for us upon arrival and was great - so lovely despite the rubbish weather (there's a parasol which provided privacy and shelter from the rain!). Also really appreciated the prosecco, bread, butter & chocolates provided, so kind! Parking right outside was perfect, in a really good location only a 5 minute drive to Bournemouth & just 15 minutes to Ashley Cross, Poole. Would definitely stay again if we're in the area - highly recommend! I contacted the host before our visit to ask what facilities the kitchenette had so we knew what food we would be able to cook during our stay. There is a portable electric stove however I would say a microwave would be a really good addition however I understand why there probably isn't one as the available space is scarce (but very well utilised!). This isn't a negative at all, just more of a personal suggestion!
- Simon (7/5): Did a fine job for our purposes- visiting parents in the area - Quirky decor, clean and cosy once weâd worked out how to turn the heating on! Kitchenette v small and no microwave - only hot water tap ( although looking back it seems there may have been a portable job somewhere we could have used). Wi-Fi seemed a bit intermittent on the tv although ok on devices. No instruction - eg re hob, heating.
- Joel (7/5): Good - The apartment was exactly what we needed for a 4-day stay in Bournemouth. The bed was comfortable, the hot tub in great working condition and very nice shower. Apartment was in a good area, where it was easy to locate anything we needed to. Kitchenette was rather small, and boiling water tap was not always the correct temperature.
- Abbie (9/5): Perfect! Will definitely be revisiting - It was perfect the hot tub was incredible! Bed was very comfy! The staff were so friendly and answered any questions I had and even fulfilled a request I asked for my anniversary. It was perfect Wish there was a tv in the bedroom but there is one in the lounge
- Nicole (10/5): Amazing decor, clean, comfortable, cosy!! - We loved its accessibly to town, excellent patio garden with lush hot tub! We stayed with two small doggies and the garden space is a saviour and having accommodation thatâs more like a home is much easier than a hotel. Bed was extremely comfy and the little touches of break milk and tea/coffee biscuits and fruit was a great touch. We will absolutely stay here again when visiting Bournemouth. We loved everything but feel a microwave would make things a little easier for heating food/drinks up.
- Hayley (10/5): Beautiful property. Very clean! Hot tub was really warm too! Everything we wanted and more. - Interior was beautiful and the property was clean and cosy.
- Nita (10/5): Modern living. - The property was modern and we loved all the little quirky details that it had. Check in was no problem and the hosts gave us clear instructions on how to get there and to access the property. Parking was right outside and the location was quiet and only a few minutes walk from the local shops. The hot tub in the garden was also an added bonus. The hosts made us feel welcome and it was an enjoyable stay. We were only staying a few days unfortunately but plan to stay longer next time. There was nothing to dislike about the property. Everything was perfect for what we needed.
- Kelly (10/5): I would highly recommend this lodge and will want to book again đ - It was a great little get away and the whole place was immaculate. I love how stylish the decor is and the bed was so so comfortable I didnât want to get out of it. The hot tub was heated perfectly and the host was great as well. Thank you âşď¸ Itâs not a dislike but something to go across the doors for extra privacy would make it even more perfect.
- Malcolm (7/5): Good - The accommodation was clean and tidy.
Decor bright and airy. Pleasant garden and hot tub. The bottle of prosseco left for us was a nice touch. Disappointed there was no kettle to make tea, had to boil the water in a pan.
Lack of privacy due to no curtains or blinds over the French windows.
- Christian (6/5): I would look for other options ⌠- The hot tub was really nice , and the little touches like milk , bread , biscuits ￟, and Prosecco
Was a nice little touch . The area wasnât very nice at all , itâs in a majorly run down , it wasnât what I expected at all , I felt like I was in someoneâs shed in their back garden , I didnât bother to stay the second night as it was far too hot and it wasnât ventilated at all , I had the fan on and that seemed to be blowing hot air around , I had to sleep with the door open , not ideal in a location like this one . The mattress wasnât very comfy and the kitchen was the smallest one I have ever seen , the water pressure was awful in the shower , I feel like this air b@b is as so expensive for What it was , I travel up and down the county and I was really disappointed overall . The only thing that made this stay some what bearable was ďżźthe hot tub.
- Nicola (10/5): Exceptional -
- Grace (10/5): Exceptional - The hot tub and facilities were excellent. Lots of nice touches The WiFi password didn't work but we did not message as we did not need it
- Molly (10/5): Excellent stay - The place was amazing! Was so well done. The hot tub, the location, everything was just excellent. We had a lovely time and all the little touches from the host just topped it all off. Thank you :)
- Emma (9/5): Lovely location and property; well worth the money. - Property was lovely; well decorated, clean and to a high specification. Hot tub and garden were excellent and the location was great near to restaurants and other amenities. Lovely touches by the owners to make you feel welcome. Only complaints were the water pressure for the shower and a lack of ventilation, it got quite warm at night even with a fan on.
- Mark (10/5): Exceptional -
- Lisalm1971 (10/5): Great value, a beautiful property, and amazing hosts! - The style, the layout, the facilities, the bed was amazingly comfortable, the Hot tub was incredible and after asking them to do something for my boyfriend they went way beyond, what lovely people and a beautiful place! Simple! We didn't like leaving! The Bed was so comfy I had to literally kick my bf out of it on check out day!
- Mark (10/5): Exceptional -
- James (9/5): Superb - Cleanliness, decor and host were all exceptional and the location was good. No water pressure when using shower.
- Richard (10/5): Exceptional -
- Anonymous (9/5): Perfect and Relaxing - The decor is beautiful and the location was a 30 min good walk to the central Bournemouth but you also had shops close by for necessities. Hot tub was gorgeous and the entire trip was just so relaxed. The owner was so responsive if I had a question and also offered to get an air fryer for meals (Iâm not the best of cooks!). Iâm hoping to come back next year if I can! Really great use of the space. The ease of popping to the shop or just grabbing a beryl bike from down the road was fantastic. And the sun shines perfectly over the garden throughout the day- the parasol was needed a few times Couldâve done with a slightly bigger Bin inside as I felt bad just leaving a bag of rubbish when I left (sorry!). Also had to wash my hair in the sink as the shower pressure was quite low but that may have been me not using it properly?
Could possibly do with some blinds/curtains around the bifold doors as I felt a little uncomfortable at times walking around knowing that neighbours could see straight in.
- Louise (8/5): Excellent would recommend to anyone - Perfect location and Isaac was fantastic and very accommodating, absolutely fantastic host and communication! Extremely clean and beautiful.
- Matthew (7/5): A Lovely Break - Close to amenities, very nice furniture . Good value for money . The hot tub was lovely . Parking is very good . Neighbours , we're a little loud . Step outside of the gate needs to be fixed . A fan could be provided for when it is hot at the property . Instructions for the hob and hot tub would be advantageous.
- Jack (9/5): Fantastic place to stay and relax lots of really nice little extras like hot tub and bbq - Lovely decoration had everything we needed and quick bud to town. Really nice place to relax would recomend to everyone. Got a little warm but spoken to the owners and they are looking to get a fan.
- Francis (9/5): Superb - Well appointed and tastefully furnished. Easy to park just nearby. A bit further out of town, but a pleasant walk
- Anonymous (8/5): almost everything was perfect, but the wifi didnât work & the shower pressure was really weak -
- Rosie (10/5): Exceptional -
