Guest Reviews
- Wright (10/5): Very pleasant stay. We will be back - We had a lovely peaceful weekend at the lodge and Loch Tay. The new owners happened to be there on arrival: they were planning some renovations and apologised personally for the recent bad reviews - but we honestly didn't see what the fuss was about. We found the place to be clean and very comfortable. It's a very quiet location with a great view - it would be a wonderful place to stay in winter with the log stove on.
Lots of activities on site and the food at the Boathouse was excellent.
- Orsolya (4/5): Unsatisfactory - Nice and quiet location, lodge overlooking the loch of Tay. We were very disappointed to find the kitchen cupboards, cooker, and most of the utensils (pots and saucepans) in a dirty state upon our arrival. We had to clean them ourselves, which was unacceptable. The dishwasher was missing granular salt and rinsing aid, and there were no tea towels, soap, or sufficient toilet paper provided. In two bedrooms the wardrobes were difficult to use, as much of the space was taken up by the owner's personal belongings.
Following our complaints to the owner, some supplies were eventually provided, but no apology was offered for the condition of the kitchen. The price-quality ratio did not correspond to our expectations.
- John (6/5): Pleasant - Lovely view across the loch Would benefit from operating manuals/guide for kitchen appliances if you plan on cooking.
- Nicole (3/5): NICHT buchen! Alles dreckig - Unkomplizierte Anreise/Check in und sauberes Bad. Nettes Restaurant am See.

- Kirsty (1/5): Awful, uncomfortable, dirty. Dont book you will regret it - Location was ok, beautiful surroundings Lodge was awful, dirty, uncomfortable, smelly. When we arrived were met with a strong damp smell as soon as we opened the door, freezing cold lodge (much colder than outside temp) was like hadnt been anyone in it for months. Had a look around and was grubby and dirty. I contacted the host straight away to say we were dissapointed and he said he was sorry and would feed back to owners and cleaners, he asked me to send some pictures which i did and put on the electric radiators to heat up and log fire (which we had to supply our own logs etc to use). Internet was also not included and had to be bought from park per day but looking at it was only 2 bars so wouldnt be good for streaming tv so we didnt bother. We were booked in 3 nights but beds were so uncofortable, pillows hard and we felt grubby as place was dirty we left a day early. I let Billy the host know that we had left. In the 2 days we were there even after sending pictures etc no resolution was given and we didnt see a single person. I complained to booking.com when got home and the host was very insulting in reply blatently lying to customer services, he offered £30 cleaning fee back, if all they pay for cleaners then no wonder place was dirty. We paid £670 for 3 nights and lost a full day of our holiday plus had 2 of the most uncomfortable nights ever. This was supposed to be a treat for husbands birthday but was not good. The host said I complained from minute I got there and was angling for a refund as weather was bad which it wasnt, only rained a bit on the first day. He said I took pictures of the dust and dirt behind heavy furniture which was also a lie, only 1 of picures was behind bedside table as was so much dust and cobwebs, carpets were very dusty all round edges, couch etc needed a good scrub, table runners had stains and chocolate spread (think it was anyway), all skirtings were minging in all rooms, especially dining room and kitchen etc. Please dont book this lodge, its not worth it
- Shogufta (9/5): Superb - Beautiful location! The outside steps were narrow, abit of a struggle and a trip hazard.
- David (9/5): Superb -
- Hanel (8/5): Very good - beautiful setting. clean and spacious. lovely peaceful place. worth a visit :) great to walk and explore. Golf course close by that offers great curry. wonderful to braai and the forest nearby is absolutely beautiful you need to be aware as a foreigner, that you have to buy the wifi, its not included, and not available in all areas, even if you have paid. also only allows 1 person of the company to buy the wifi. The boathouse restaurant was not open on a tuesday and wednesday. luckily we brought food.
