- Susan (9/5): Excellent stay would recommend the Hideaway for a stay in Durham - The property was very nice everything was clean and beds were comfy. Lovely spacious kitchen dinning area. Could have done with a chair in bedrooms. Showers were fab.
Lots of nice touches and all nicely decorated. Great room for parking in a quiet neighbourhood.
Easy walking distance to the river Cathedral and restaurants and shops.
Very central for exploring the areas surrounding Durham.
Lots of interesting places to go and nice places to eat locally. A map or local guide book would have been very useful.
Info about bins and says for collection would help.

- Susan (10/5): Fantastic stay, will definitely return - Lovely modern and clean property within easy reach of Durham city centre Sitting room was perhaps light on seats for 5-6 people to sit comfortably but we were happy to chill in the kitchen which had ample seating for 6

- Carol (9/5): Comfortable and great location - The property had everything we needed. Beautifully clean and comfortable It would have been nice if the heating had been on when we arrived since it was so cold walking in.
- James (9/5): - Durham Hideaway was very pleasant, everything you want from an apartment/house booking. The tiniest of criticisms was that I couldn't easily see the WiFi details so had to ask the host.

- Ana (8/5): - Todo en general: la limpieza, el jardín trasero, las habitaciones, la acogedora cocina...
- Judith (9/5): Nice house, convenient location and super clean - Nice house, super clean.
Overall very good stay.
Host was very attentive. Disappointed we couldn't use the bath and issues with shower drainage. Pillows were a bit basic but nice bedding.
- Caroline (10/5): Great place to stay in Durham especially if travelling by car - We had a great stay, three decent sized double bedrooms, a main bathroom and a surprise ensuite (it wasn't that obvious from the property description, I thought the 2nd bathroom referred to the downstairs toilet as often listings says stuff like that). It was very quiet (couldn't hear the neighbours or street noise), and you are an easy 20-30 minute walk from central Durham. There are lots of buses and £7 ish for an uber if you don't want to walk. Parking off street for 2 cars and probably loads on the road too. Some great takeaway options like Lebaneats and the Vietnamese very close by with the Sainsbury Local 5 minutes away or a huge Tesco/ Aldi 10 minutes on foot. The owner was helpful & quick to respond, the heating was generous and the showers were hot with great water pressure. The garden looked lovely too if you visit in the summer. I would definitely book it again. I gave the house a ten as I thought it was really good value for money vs equivalent 3 double bed options in Durham. It didn't have an especially high end finish and a couple of thing needed fixing like the Venetian blinds in the kitchen and the dining chairs could have done with a clean. We travelled as a party of 3 so it wasn't an issue for us but there were only 4 dining chairs and just one sofa that comfortably sat 3 or 4 at a push even though the rooms were large.

- Debbie (9/5): Wish we had stayed longer! The house was in a good location to get the bus and Durham is amazing! - Pleasant and very quiet location not far to walk from the bus stop into Durham. Parking directly outside the property. Roomy comfortable house. Fabulous bathroom. Warm and cosy too. We liked everything

- Meach (8/5): Plenty of space to spread out in to - The owners had tried to think of everything for visitors. Lots of extra little touches, and they were available if we needed them. Direct walk into the city centre. Nice road with a regular bus services and local takeaways. Key box entry system Two steep hills back from the centre. Paintwork needed freshing up. Garden a little unloved. Front door very stiff to close and requires lubrication. Live television channels were difficult to select, and needed a basic user guide
- Chris (8/5): Very good -
- Joanne (10/5): Exceptional -
- Andrea (9/5): Impeccable clean and comfortable - Lovely property, spotlessly clean, responsive host. Wonderful showers and bath, we were warm and comfy. The dining chair legs are really unstable! Could be quite dangerous. Other than that, wonderful stay, thank you so much.
- Jason (10/5): Exceptional -

- Jacqui (9/5): Great place to stay. - We stayed 2 nights in this immaculate 3 bedroomed house in Gilesgate. Tastefully decorated, comfortable, warm and fresh. Modern decor with everything you need for a short break or longer holiday to Durham. Brand new all mod cons. Little extras on your arrival were appreciated. Free parking at front of the house. Pet friendly with a large garden to the rear. Great location if you want to leave your car and take a very short bus ride into the bustling cathedral city. Its only a 20 minute walk. Self-catering there is a plethora of big-name shops at the nearby Dragonville a mile away. Or a Sainsburys a 3 minute walk away. Would suit professionals, groups and ample size for families. An access code is needed by email or phone which comes after booking so you can check yourself in with a smartlock.
I didnt receive it and couldnt check in for a couple of hours until property manager got back to me.
He was able to open the door remotely once he got my messages for help.
Make sure you contact the property manager before check-in at 3pm to get the code for initial access into the house. If i was to stay again I would contact him and check to ensure it didn't happen again as it was a source of anxiety on arrival.
- Mary (10/5): Perfect Hideaway - Beautiful house. Couldn't fault it, everything was spotless. Well equipped kitchen. Would highly recommend. Easy walk in to Durham and lots to see. The Cathedral and castle are well worth visiting.
Owner was very helpful when contacted. Overall a lovely experience. There was nothing to not like.
- Lindsay (10/5): Exceptional -
- Georgia (10/5): A hidden gem! Lots of care and thought have been put into creating a high-quality accommodation. - The house is a little gem. We had booked another property initially, but the first host raised the prize as soon as we booked, so when we proceeded to cancel and search for another house, this little hideaway just came up. And it is exactly what is says and even more. The pictures on the website are exactly what you see in the house. The house appears to be recently renovated and to a high standard. Three bedrooms - one of them being ensuite (which we didn't realize until we got to the house), beautifully decorated and very elegant, all with double beds. The bathrooms are modern and with excellent water pressure too. The temperature in the house is controlled by a smart thermostat and you set the temperature accordingly, and coming from Cyprus, a warm house was a plus! The kitchen was fully equipped - kettle, toaster, microwave, big fridge-freezer, and it even had a Ninja airfryer. The large dining table in the kitchen doubled as office space, placed next to a nice window. We were also provided with teas, coffee and some nice biscuits. A selection of fragrant candles added to the homey atmosphere. The tv in the living room had all digital stations (more than a hundred channels) and Netflix. Indeed, so much though was put into preparing this house, that there was nothing that we missed, or nothing that we might need and was not available, to the minutest detail. The neighbourhood was quiet, and close to a big Tesco, as well as close to the university, with bus stops a couple of minutes away literally. Moreover, it is important to note that the communication with the owner was efficient and immediate, and whenever we wanted to ask something he was great.. The most minor issue - and it was only noticeable because the house has been decorated and equipped with a really high standard, was the quality of the bed linen.
- Martin (8/5): Very good -
