Guest Reviews
- Sylvia (10/5): Wonderful stay in a historic house - I had a wonderful stay in this beautiful old house. It was very cosy, the beds were comfortable, and it was very quiet at night. The garden is huge and lovely. The hostess was very friendly and helpful. Half a mile away was the Queens Head Inn, where we could enjoy a leisurely meal and spend the evening. I would stay at this fantastic accommodation again in a heartbeat!
- RICHARD (10/5): Jane is a very engaging host who is passionate about the Manor House and we really enjoyed the experience - The Manor House is steeped in history and so well preserved
- fyetter (10/5): Do not pass on a chance to stay at Prebendal Manor - Prebendal Manor was all it's cracked up to be: historic, gorgeous, comfortable and quaint. Jane is a lovely hostess, eager to share the history of her family home while making sure her guests are completely comfortable. This is a 'not to be missed' opportunity to experience a bit of British cultural history that is disappearing all too fast. That we had to leave.

- Bradbury (10/5): Fabulous stay in historic property - Gorgeous historic house, if you love and value old houses with all the charm they bring this is for you. Super friendly, informative and helpful host who took the time to show us around her amazing garden and outdoor space. Breakfast plentiful and high quality. Easy instructions to reach the house with plenty of parking. Nothing
- Ed (9/5): Fantastic old manor house with lots of atmosphere. - For atmosphere it was unbeatable! It's a beautiful (very very) old manor house with amazing gardens/grounds. However, it's a bit old-fashioned and some people might find it uncomfortable by modern standards. Breakfast was a selection of good quality muesli, yoghurt, toast, fruit etc. Our stay was brilliant. Nothing really. If you like old buildings and lovely gardens in a beautiful village then this is for you.
- Melvyn (7/5): Very good. -
- Lenore (10/5): Great stay with a great lady. - What a lovely place. Jane was so accommodating, especially given that she was unaware of my arrival (not her fault). She quickly made sure I was taken care of and the next day gave me a lovely tour of the grounds. She is so knowledgeable about all the plants and herbs and history of the times in which this Manor was at its peak. I loved hearing all the history and she is such a nice person.

- Elizabeth (10/5): A magical place to stay- beautiful surroundings to disconnect from the outside world - What an amazing place to stay. You are immersed in English history at its finest. Nothing

- John (9/5): excellent hospitality in a historic venue. - Very helpful and v good service all good
- Maysa (6/5): Pleasant - It is a cute place, the host is so lovely.
The rooms are good sized but very basic.
- Hendy (10/5): Delightful overnight stay in one of the oldest houses in England. Wow - Offered a welcoming drink on arrival. Beautiful home. Charming. interesting hostess. lovely location. Good breakfast Nothing
- Dean (8/5): An historical treasure, acting as an excellent base for exploring the surrounding area. - This accommodation is steeped in history. We were shown around the historic part of the building by Jane, the owner, showing us the original Saxon footprint, through to the Norman Hall and then to the Manor House. Jane is very knowledgeable about the history of the house.
As a guest you are integrated into the house, regularly seeing the owner who offers tea and a chat. The room is spacious and appropriate to the Manor House setting. It is very comfortable.
The area itself is full of history, we strolled around the village of Nassington and then on to nearby Fotheringhay where Richard III was born and Mary Queen of Scots was executed. There is an excellent pub/restaurant in Fotheringhay called The Falcon.
We also found the Glen Miller memorial at the old WWII Fighter base at nearby Kings Cliffe. The last place he played a big 'hanger concert' prior to his unfortunate death.
Overall the accommodation was an excellent base to explore the immediate area. Whilst we didn't feel unsafe, the absence of a lock on the bedroom door was an unnecessary omission.
The breakfast is a well appointed cold offering but due to the animal present in the house no hot food was provided.
- Clifford (10/5): A quite fascinating stay. Must like cats! - Light but pleasant with good choices for breakfast. A fascinating place with a well informed host. Directions to the house were vague.
- Liz (8/5): Close proximity to Peterborough. - Village location with a wonderful garden. Enjoyed seeing around such an interesting property and hearing about its amazing history. Nothing
- Wiccamical (9/5): An ancient historic manor house set up for a comfortable stay by a charming owner/hostess. - Utterly charming. Jane, the owner, was the most delightful hostess. The house is of great historic interest; while maintaining its ancient character, it was very comfortable and well set up. Nothing!
- Andrew (8/5): History in abundance - Owner was very attentive and enlightening with her knowledge of the history of the house. Pleasure to stay. Highly recommended.
- Vanessa (10/5): Welcoming and relaxing - Jane was very welcoming. The grounds are very beautiful. It is a relaxing and peaceful place and we really enjoyed our stay
- Adrian (9/5): A lovely place - Beautiful house with lovely gardens and great deal of history. Jane was wonderful host and very helpful and knowledgeable on the history.
- Charlotte (10/5): Truly wonderful 🥰 - Incredible history and hospitality!
- Carlos (9/5): Superb - Such a beautiful property with so much history.
- Richard (10/5): Exceptional - Beautiful manor house with a historical background and charming architectural features.
It doubles up as a wedding venue. I can say that it would be quite a special occasion to have it at Prubendal Manor with the colourful and well tended gardens as the backdrop. Nothing to say
