Danielle (10/5): I'm calling it a WIN! - We booked at the last minute and there were limited accommodation options available. To be frank, I'm a bit of a Rolls Royce gal when it comes to accommodation, but this was bloody perfect! We were only staying one night and I booked the 2bd because MrMan sometimes snores and it was available. Check in was open till late, there's a bar and we happened to arrive on schnitty night. Josh greeted us, gave us instructions for heating on a cold winter night and brought us milk for coffee and bread for toast brekki. There was cereal and plunger coffee available in the room. Winning! Thanks Josh and thanks Hibernian! Nup. I was really pleasantly surprised!

A few little things: one bedside light not working; one heat lamp not working in bathroom, two lights and associated switch not working in bathroom; dirty skylight in bathroom; no honey in continental breakfast in Beechworth the honey capital; not clear when booking that there were internal stairs; restaurant closed 2 nights.

Christine (10/5): Fabulous hotel in the city centre. - The location was great - just off the main street. The person who checked me in was absolutely lovely. The place was quiet. I had neighbours on either side of me and they were in but I didn't hear them through the walls. It was warm (I came in the freezing winter). The bed and pillows were comfortable. Everything was great except for one very minor thing - the soap. It was one of those little soap bars and they usually are awful, so i didn't try it (so technically I shouldn't complain). I just used the shampoo instead as a liquid soap.

Shay (9/5): Superb - Very well appointed room that was of a large size. Was nice to have continental breakfast included. Close walking to distance to everything in town. Friendly staff on check in. Room was nice and warm with reverse cycle air conditioning in all rooms. Tanswells Commercial Hotel on Tuesday night have a steak night and was one of the best steaks we have had. Pillows were a little flat but other than that nothing.
Peter (8/5): Very comfortable townhouse. Reasonable priced. - Townhouses at the rear of the hotel were very well appointed and set up. Everything we needed and comfortable. The food at the hotel was pretty ordinary. Car better options elsewhere.

Kylie (9/5): Hibernian Beechworth - Walking distance within every where we wanted to go in Beechworth (although it rained most of the weekend). The staff were very friendly, happy to help. Had a good chat with them Saturday afternoon between shifts. We ate in the hotel both nights. Couldn't fault the food, even though the staff were absolutely flat out. They let us know there would be a wait. It arrived hot and delicious. I'm short, and the heater remote was too high on the wall for me. Fine for the other two though. 😀

Having your continental breakfast in the room so you don't need to get dressed to find it was a very good touch. Showers water pressure was beautiful, whilst the shower itself was roomy. Toilet was a little small for someone of a bigger size, but apart from that no complaints.

Happy (9/5): positive wins over negative 😀 - very spacious and very clean was really happy,,will definitely come back and recommend to others.😃 That the power cord for the electric blanket was tucked underneath the bed deliberately so you would think it wasn't there and then to plug it in one had to reach right under the bedside table to plug it in it was a struggle for me at 52 years so for a person much older or with a physical condition wouldn't be able to do it. My beside table lamp had no bulb and the bedroom tv was turned off at power point unable to reach without using a chair to stand on extremely dangerous for anyone if they were to fall..... The wall between bathroom and kitchen has a clear piece of glass at the top,now it was only a matter of standing on a kitchen chair ( very dangerous once again ) to have full veiw of bathroom, not very private although they are only minor problems none the less I'm paying full price for a room where I can't help but think it's all purposely done to save the owner $$ Could become very costly if a guest were to be seriously injured something to weigh up I guess.

Other room supplies were not replenished regularly. One unit (6) that we needed to pass to get to ours, had leftover food sitting on the outdoor table for 3-days. The bed was comfortable but not so, the pillows.

Gregory (9/5): Great hospitality - Fantastic location right in town and at the back of the hotel. It was spacious,warm and easy parking as well as extremely quiet. The bed was comfortable and there were adequate facilities in the room for our Easter long weekend stay. The decor is dated but everything worked and was clean. The staff were excellent and attended quickly to any requests we had. We enjoyed our stay and will use this accommodation again when in town. Thanks to Josh and all the staff. The shower grout could use a scrub.
