Guest Reviews
- Wessels (10/5): So peaceful and tranquil - Loved the view, the facility, special details. Would need ebikes or rent a car to get access to town.
Foursquare might want to create a delivery system as a 6km walk on that terrain is long.

- David (9/5): - Everything :) The instruction for the entry code is incorrect.
It is not 4010*
It is 4010#
The tongs are plastic and should be replaced as they are leaving particles in food, so should the Teflon cooking fry pans.
S/S cooking implements will prevent the black particles in the food..
- Phil (10/5): Purepod is amazing. Wonderful place to stay, recommended. -
- Kaila (10/5): Exceptional - Most amazing location and everything you need for a romantic getaway
- Peter (10/5): Memorable, relaxing and a haven of nature all around. - The private position and the tranquility, with wonderful background sounds of amazing bird song. The Pod was terrific, well kitted out. A very special place to stay.
- Newbiedc (9/5): A beautiful night in a Kiwi sanctuary amid the bright stars. - Gorgeous spot, beautiful building, clean and neat. Very helpful hosts assisted us to redeploy family members as needed. To be honest, lovely as it was, the tariff of nearly NZD $1000 per night is really not justified. It is poor value for money.
- Caroline (9/5): Superb - Amazing views. Good, clean facilities. Quiet, serene location close to beaches, hikes. Further from town than expected. A long walk into town or an expensive cab ride in (If planning to stay here without hiring bikes/car).
- Chutima (10/5): Exceptional -
- Linda (10/5): SOLITARY LIVING IN NATURE - Unique experience all around & all together-being one with nature-the design of the glass cabin. Perfect temperature, layout, design, bedding. WE LOVED IT! No Kiwi SEEN by the cabin area but a walk down the main road resulted in a sighting! The STARS above you & it’s no dream. Hearing the KIWI by the cabin in the early morning-we had no idea it sounded like screaming….
We hated to leave.
- Rachel (9/5): If ypu want remote and wild, but with comfort then this is for you! - Beautiful location, and an unusual and interesting design. Felt right in the beautiful nature all around. Birds song, stars and sea
- Tom (9/5): Best shower in the world - Awesome experience in a magic location
- Vic (6/5): Fantastic view with a few inexpensive tweaks, could be perfect! - Location was amazing and the pod was very nicely designed. The view Ofcourse was outstanding. There are a number of things which need improving to make this a truly memorable stay. I believe it would be reasonable for transport via the island taxi to be included in the stay. This is $25 one way and the alternatives are not really an option given the bikes are over $100 a day each and walking (which we did) was ok one way but as your only transport, for the type of guest you will attract at your price point, not realistic. I also believe you need to at the base minimum provide breakfast at this location and a working power point (with strong instructions that no hairdryer!). Most of us relax these days with some sort of device and not offering a way to charge it, caused us a lot of worry. Using an emergency phone as the only option with our phones ran out, wasn’t really a “luxury” experience. People book activities on their phones etc too so given the walk into town is a long one - you want people to be able to plan and book their stay from the pod! Given Stewart Islands isolation, the transport to the pod on the first day would be my main feedback.
- Harriet (10/5): Exceptional - Beautiful little property, really well thought out and great welcome pack directing us to the pod. Easy to find and a real treat to stay after finishing the Rakiura Track! The food hamper was delicious but certainly not worth $180 sadly so I couldn’t recommend it. Adding robes would be a great touch to the lovely property, and just finalising some little details such as ensuring all batteries in lights are working and messages being written up professionally rather than on scrap paper would make a big difference given the cost. That being said, we had a lovely stay and I would recommend it, just saw potential for small changes making a big impact!
- Graeme (9/5): Superb -
- Murray (7/5): Good -
- Nicole (10/5): Laying under a glass sky under a trillion stars! Priceless - The PurePod experience was amazing! Pure bucket list tick
- Colin (10/5): Fabulous concept in a fabulous setting. An unforgettable stay. - Stunning and clever concept. Lived up to expectations as a very memorable experience. A lot of thought has gone into these purepods, and into all the little extras that come with it. Wish we had stayed an extra night or two. If you're into tech and off grid living you're going to love it. Barbecuing our steaks on the balcony with a nice glass of red as the sun went down was one of the highlights of our NZ trip. The bedding could be simplified - bit too many sheets and covers. Would have been nice if you could tick a box requesting transfers from the ferry ... there's only one taxi and if you don't book it during busy season you're going to be walking up some pretty steep hills for 4km. Turned out okay for us ... just!
- Ian (10/5): Breath Taking - The location is fantastic, marvellous views, very peaceful very relaxing, breath taking, wish we had booked a longer stay. The food package was just lovely. There is nothing to dislike about this property, maybe a lack of storage space if staying longer
- Ida (10/5): Exceptional - The stay was magnificent: so tranquil and beautiful. The birdlife was fantastic. We fell asleep to the sound of kiwi and ruru and woke up to the song of tui and korimako. The facilities were modern, clean and beautiful with a lovely patio with a nice bbq. I'll definitely stay here again. The only thing I regret is that we only booked it for one night!
