Guest Reviews
- MARGARET (9/5): Brilliant, unique property, especially for folk who love history as we do! - Ollie, the owner was fantastic, so welcoming, nothing was too much trouble. The location was only a five minute walk to the centre of Yarm.
The property had so much history, sitting in the Victorian Greenhouse surrounded by vines was a unique experience. To be surrounded by artefacts and original features dating back over 100 years wa special Probably a bread board would be useful? (Didn't want to scratch the worktops.)
It didn't bother us but others may criticise the lack of a basic TV set.
Nothing to complain about on our behalf, though.
- Dave (10/5): -
- Brian (10/5): Perfect location and welcoming hosts. - Friendly and relaxed hosts, tranquil setting in a beautiful garden going down to the river Tees. We liked everything. Could not fault it
- Lisa (7/5): Good - Location, kitchen, bathroom Lounge dark, no TV, adjoining doors in lounge and bedroom.
- Kathryn (10/5): Fabulous host with amazing greenhouse - Ollie was the perfect host & loved spending time in the greenhouse chilling out after a long day visiting family. Apricot cottage was cosy and welcoming with a quick 2 minute walk to the high street that has lots of bars and restaurants.
- Christine (8/5): A beautiful period property with a garden of Eden - A beautiful home with so much history and central with all that Yarm has to offer on your doorstep and a very friendly host No microwave and no tv
- Moffatt (8/5): Very good -
- Claire (10/5): Can’t wait to go back! - We stayed for one night on our way up to Northumberland and have already booked a repeat visit. The property is charming, full of character and history. Ollie, the host, was extremely welcome during our stay. The use of the shared garden is a lovely addition to the property. Nothing
- Brian (10/5): Great stay in lovely comfy cottage. - Comfy, cosy cottage which had all that’s needed for a great stay. The host has successfully retained the original character of the old house while adding a modern kitchen/bathroom. The hosts were very friendly and welcoming and ensured we had everything we needed. Easy to walk to high street. We liked it all! Can honestly say there was nothing we didn’t like.
- John (9/5): Great cottage - Great location and the cottage had plenty of room, great host, very welcoming and very nice garden are to enjoy. Had a couple of improvements for the host, Ollie was very welcome to gain advice for improvements and got them sorted straight away, which is great to see.
- Gavin (9/5): Cottage full of character, super friendly owner - Location, just a short walk to the Main Street and its many restaurants and coffee shops shops. Character of an old renovation. Ollie, the owner, met us on arrival even though it was a late hour. Very friendly, very helpful Not much to dislike about the property, nit-picking I would say kitchen a little cold in the mornings - to be expected with an old property - but rest of the cottage was toasty
- Craig (10/5): We loved our stay would definitely stay here again - Unique little cottage, very clean & comfy. Great location. Ollie the host is very welcoming and couldn’t do enough for us. Would definitely stay there again. Nothing
- Martyn (10/5): Exceptional - It's a pretty little cottage that's an annexe to a large farmhouse. It's located down the lane next to the farmhouse and is the first door on the lane.
Cottage is nicely decorated - a mixture of traditional and modern. Service is friendly and helpful.
Location is good too - only a couple of minutes' walk from the high street, and handily there's free off-road parking. The kitchen has coffee, a good selection of teas and handily some food such as soup.
The cottage was nice and warm on arrival and the owner Ollie turned up to say hello and check all was ok.
All in all, a pleasant start and I'll definitely return.
