- Paul (6/5): Looked forward but disappointed - None included , disappointing as no hairdryer available , place was very cold lounge room radiator not hot enough needs bleeding the bedding is only summer weight we had to use the blankets from the lounge it’s was so cold we had cramps in feet and legs …. Warmest room was the kitchen , we left heating on constantly at 22deg it was so much better the second night . Gutted as we were only using the place as it was where we both met 15 years prior .foot note please think of older people the sofas were so low to get out of. Looked nice but no structure to them
Host was very pleasant No hairdryer very cold bedding seen better days bobbling on cheap duvet covers duvet really thin had to use all the settee throws to keep warm , as no fire to back up the radiator that wanted bleeding , then used the throws to help us keep warm in bed. … kitchen lovely and bathroom too, settees ok if you’re young I had to literally pull my hubby off the settee as you couldn’t get up off them looked good but no substance oh right by the road and no double glazing so noisy
Disappointed as it wasnt cheap over £200 for two nights however they kindly left some milk tea and coffee
- Carly (10/5): The best glamping weekend we’ve had!! - Couldn’t rate this place any higher! We had the best weekend, location was beautiful, exactly what we were looking for with 2 wild children with extra needs. The cabin was awesome, cosy and everything we needed. The veranda with big hottub was just gorgeous! Just a 2 min walk along a path with pigs, friendly sheep, goats and alpacas to the pub for food & drinks. There’s also a pottery painting shop, petite play village and some other shops all together opposite the pub. There’s also a little play park in the woods & toy tractors that my boys loved playing on. We were so shocked at how lovely this place really is. We would 💯come back and will recommend it to everyone! Nothing it was perfect!
I’d have loved a sweeping brush or little hoover to have gave the pod a whip round before we left though 😥
- J M (10/5): A lovely home from home - As someone who travels a lot for work I find staying in hotels really restrictive and uncomfortable. So the cottage at the Cow and Plough offered a home from home, where I could relax, cook and stay close to where I was working.
It was lovely and quiet, even though on a main road. Nothing not to like.

- Campbell (10/5): Fantastic - highly recommend - The location was fantastic and we were very happy with the cottage no issues
- Ewelina (9/5): -
- Ivers (9/5): - Overall lovely stay would recommend 100% will be returning Cannot really complain about anything
- Andy (6/5): Relaxing - Property was nice and cosy It shows hot tub on pics but there wasn’t one very nice place tho

- alan (10/5): Full marks on all counts. - Spacious, comfortable, excellent facilities, spotless, characterful, location next to pub with good food and service. Happy to stay again. No wifi llate evening,.
Minor detail - lack of tea towel and smaller plates

- Susan J (10/5): Delightful, spacious and cozy cottage - Keepers Cottage is a quaint and delightful place to stay. It is surprisingly spacious, with lovely high ceilings and large rooms. It was warm and cosy, with all the small touches thought through really well. The bed was super comfortable, and I liked the fact that the duvet wasn't too thick. The cottage is adjacent to a road that can be quite busy, so there was some traffic noise
- Emma (9/5): All - Conveniently located for my visit to family. All was good
- harris (5/5): - Hello,
I just wanted to share some feedback following our recent stay. Overall, it was meant to be a relaxing evening, however we did experience a few issues that impacted this.
Unfortunately, we were unable to enjoy the hot tub as expected. It took several hours to warm up, which was quite inconvenient. I feel it would be much better if the hot tub could be pre-heated for guests’ arrival. Once it did eventually heat up, the temperature was then too hot to comfortably use.
We also had problems with the hot water inside the cabin. There was no hot water available in the sinks, which made washing our hands and cleaning up difficult—especially after handling logs, and given the freezing weather outside.
In addition, the heating inside the cabin did not appear to be working. We were unable to get the cabin warm at all, and I think providing portable heaters during colder weather would greatly improve guest comfort.
Finally, when we attempted to shower, there was no water available at all. This was particularly inconvenient after getting out of the hot tub in cold conditions and needing to wash off.
I wanted to raise these points as constructive feedback, as they significantly affected our experience.
Kind regards,
- Philip (9/5): Gorgeous accommodation. Have already recommended to others and will definitely use again. - When we realised where keys were it was fine Lack of directions to accommodation and had to call pub to find out where we collect keys.
Need to take a look at the gate into the glamping field as it doesn’t close properly and sheep kept escaping. We herded them twice back off the road whilst there.
- Susan (7/5): Beautiful little cottage, very hospitable owner and staff. - The cottage was easy to find, immaculate and plenty of parking. The owner was very friendly and helpful, obviously another dog lover (we had our dog with us). There was a problem with the heating whilst we were there but the owner was very attentive, providing an electric heater and lighting the log fire - a temporary blip which considering his attention whilst we were there, we are sure will be fixed. We ordered food from the pub which the cottage owner also owns. The food was delivered to our cottage so we could eat comfortably without needing to take the dog in the pub. All in all, the owner and pub staff did everything they could to ensure we had a comfortable night's stay. Working heating would have been good, but we're confident this is only a minor blip which we are confident the owner has in hand. The cottage is by a busy road so was a little noisy in the late afternoon and evening but not obtrusive - no traffic noise overnight.

- Catherine (10/5): A perfect place to stay - Lovely property. Clean, comfortable, and with everything a guest may need. Absolutely perfect for us. The nearby pub is excellent, with lovely friendly and helpful staff.
- Ruth (10/5): - It's very comfortable, pub is nice and friendly.
- Kaylee (10/5): - The hot tub and peacefulness Nothing
- Alexandru (5/5): - We chose this cabin mainly for the jacuzzi, but it did not work properly for 2 out of 3 days as the water never reached a usable temperature. The owner said the issue would be fixed, but it wasn’t. This was very disappointing and affected our stay
- Rachael (10/5): Fabulous! Will be back. - Keys were left in cabin door for access after checking in at the pub. Easy parking at the pub and good for excuse to stop for drink/food.
The cabin was LOVELY, everything you could need, the hot tub was wonderful. No tv which was great to have an excuse to talk/play games. Keys left in door and no confirmation of cabin name booked did mean there is as some confusion with another guest going into our cabin! But this was quickly resolved by staff so it wasnt too much of an issue.
No signal or Wi-Fi, but it is advertised as glamping so shouldn't be too surprised - just hard to assess where nearest shop was for food etc.
- Shuriah (10/5): -
- Lucy (10/5): Great stay - The location was very close to the main road but you would never have known it. Felt like we were in a lovely quite rural location. The hot tub was awesome and a nice touch to our stay The pod was cold but luckily I packed my heated throw and after all we were glamping in winter
- Barbara (5/5): We didn’t. Booked into a Travel Lodge. - The main bedroom No comfortable furniture to sit on
- Sara (9/5): -
- Mark (6/5): Would be great in summer - Staff were great. Pub/restaurant was great. There was no lighting between the cabin and car park, or between car park and restaurant (solar lights don't work well in winter).
There was no blind on the toilet/shower room.
The accommodation I'd booked a few weeks earlier (cottage) was unavailable due to being double booked, yet I was only informed the evening before.
- Robert (8/5): Beautiful and unusual setting. Staff sorted any issues immediately - Quality lodge, modern and well designed. Not just a boring setup
- Vlada (8/5): -
- Ashli (10/5): Cosy cottage - The location was perfect for what we needed and having the pub across the carpark for dinner was a huge bonus. The cottage was very spacious but still felt cosy and the bed was super comfortable. The property is near a semi busy country road but couldn't hear any road noise from inside.
We were in the area for a wedding and the staff at the cow and plough were more than helpful providing us with an iron at short notice Thank you guys! Signal was a little ropey (O2) but had enough to receive calls and messages
Although this is not necessarily a negative just thought i would mention.
- Helen (9/5): - Lovely cottage right next to the pub Lack of WiFi but not a big issue for an overnight stay.
- Sarah (10/5): The location was perfect, with lovely dog walks in very easy reach. - I picked my keys up from the pub, was shown around the cottage and made to feel very welcome. The cottage was spacious, clean and well equipped. I wish I had booked for longer! Nothing I can think of.
- Sara (8/5): Awesome - Everything
- Stephen (9/5): -
- Anne (9/5): - Beautiful cottage in a great location. Next door to aovrly restaurnt ( highly recommend the Sunday roast), with very friendly, attentive staff.
Highly recommend and thank you. Dog was off lead in the restaurant
- Jones (5/5): - Cute and welcoming inside. Very clean. Welcome milk and water in fridges nice touch. We couldn’t get the heating to work so were very cold. Also, we had no hot water. Kitchen facilities were limited. No microwave or side plates. We only stayed one night so above was manageable. Had we stayed longer we would of course have tried to rectify with owner but we weren’t there long enough to address although we did let them know on checkout. Point to note, property is right alongside a busy road.
- Ruth (10/5): Little gem of a place, much bigger than expected. Perfect for a relaxing weekend, with good food on the doorstep too. - Very spacious.
- Rosie (9/5): - Plenty of room, and nice and secluded considering it's next to a main road and a pub. As it is detached we had no worries about noise from neighbours. Comfy furnishings and well equipped kitchen. Road gets noisy from early in the morning, and cars go very fast down here. No WiFi in the cottage, which was advertised, but for the price we think it should be considered.
- Jacobs (9/5): Wonderful Glamping in beautiful surroundings. - The two bedroom pod was spotlessly clean and very comfortable. All the bed linen smelt freshly washed. The pod was immaculate.
The area where the pod is situated is beautiful countryside, although a road could be heard, so it wasn't right out in the sticks. However, this means that the place is close to local amenities.
There are some gorgeous walks all around the accommodation which was essential for our little dog.
Although we didn't have any children with us, this would be a wonderful place to stay if we did. On the grounds and surrounding fields, there are pigs, sheep, goats, ride-on toy tractors, swings, slides, and climbing. There's also a picnic-type area with a large permanent sort of marquee where, on one night, there was a "Pub in the Woods" night with a live band.
I absolutely recommend Keepers Cottage to others and would definitely stay there again. There was no blind covering one of the bedroom windows nor in the toilet/shower room. Although the latter was only overlooked by trees. For three nights, neither of these things were an issue for me. The only reason I'm mentioning them is because my adult daughters weren't comfortable without the blinds.
The only other thing, which wasn't an actual problem, was nowhere to hang clothes.
- Andrew (10/5): Perfect location. Rural, quiet, quaint and peaceful. - Superb location and bigger than it looks. Perfect for a couple and we took two well behaved labradors.
1.5 miles to Leicester Airport and 2.5 to Oadby.
On site pub, restaurant, farm shop and dog walk if staying.
Superb.
Former livestock keepers cottage and a couple of hundred years old. Same family now run other businesses on site and very helpful and friendly. It was great. No wifi but didn’t miss it.
Pub has a good signal.
- Neil (10/5): A brilliant property with a brilliant pub and brilliant staff - Great experience from start to finish. Friendly check in, beautiful cottage, clean, tidy, spacious. The attached pub is an absolute gem. I didn’t realise there was no WiFi but in future I’d take my laptop to the pub if I needed to work. A very relaxing experience with good facilities and good service. I liked everything about this place but would recommend a microwave for convenience
- Ashleigh (10/5): Beautiful but false advertisement - The property was newly build which you could instantly tell and see! They’ve done an impressive job, everything was beautifully done, informative booklet and candle for extra touch. Really lovely chalet! Beds were super comfortable! Everything was brand new in the chalet and we were the first ones to use the chalet. Board games we absolutely loved. We paid for a Hot tub - there wasn’t a hot tub!
The chalet is newly built but you shouldn’t advertise a booking with something it hasn’t got. I had asked for the manager/ owner to speak to myself but I never saw them. When dropping the keys into the pub that own, a guy decided to tell me that it’s work in progress. Also found that I had paid £70 more with less nights to another couple and they had a hot tub. One evening was 29 degrees and we couldn’t sit outside due to having no outdoor seating - compared to the other chalets.
- Hannah (9/5): - Clean and well equipped
- Vanessa (7/5): -
- Barbara (6/5): -
- Kelly (9/5): - Cosy ,, clean and in an amazing area No microwave
No WiFi
- Kelly (9/5): Lovely little gem of a place ,, would definitely return - The cottage was lovely and cosy ,, clean
The fire place was an added bonus
Lamp shade were also amazing !
The location was perfect
I stayed here while my husband was having an operation for 4 days and felt very safe
Bath was lovely and hot Missed not having a microwave as I was to and from the hospital I got micro meal and got back to no microwave
Also WiFi would of been nice as signal wasn’t very good
- Hadi (10/5): Exceptional -
- Susan (1/5): Not staying here again - The accommodation is a a great space The staff member who gave me the key to the property advised that the gate would be closed by 10pm, and said that I would have to be back by then of I wanted to park and stay in the property. I did ask if there was someone who I could contact to let me in if the gate was closed but he did not know and he did not try to assist me with this query. This was really disappointing I did not know that I had booked into a property that had a curfew.
In the morning I mentioned this to another staff member who said that there was actually a code on the gate and that I could have let myself in and he said 'Oh well it was just a misunderstanding'. I didn't actually see this as a misunderstanding and more that it was poor staff training.
- Mark (10/5): An Unexpected Gem - The cottage is beautifully furnished with everything you need, and right next door to the Cow & Plough Pub which serves excellent food. The pub doesn’t do breakfast so you need to bring your own cornflakes and milk Everything was great
- Sylvia (6/5): We a good place for our one night stay. - A very nice cottage in a good location. There was no hot water. The boiler is faulty and needs attention. There was only one dessert spoon.
- Nick (8/5): Well decorated, lovely, unusual property. A few small inexpensive details could lift into 5-stars! - Very convenient location. Cottage very well decorated and comfortable. Beautifully clean. Could have done with some brief written instructions. e.g. "This is how to set/adjust the heating". "This is how to set/adjust the shower". "Wi-fi in the Cottage." We would have liked bigger bath towels. And some tea-towels in the kitchen. And provision for blocking daylight from small window next to the bed.
- Tom (9/5): Fun - Stylish old property with nice pub adjacent WiFi was hopeless
- Littleford (9/5): Great one night stay. - House was clean, comfortable, and on such a hot day, it was lovely and cool. All we needed for a one night stay. Staff at the Cow and Plough were really helpful, and delivered us a takeaway. If we were staying more than 1 night, you may want to take some clothes hangers. But that's just nik picking. TV was a nice touch, but no Internet, again, no problem for us. Would have no problem staying again.
- Jess (10/5): Great cottage, staff, food and stay AAA+++ - The b&b is part of a pub which is dog friendly. Staff were treat, food was great, property was awesome. Everything was lovely and we will definitely return. Can't fault anything.
- Allison (10/5): Exceptional -
- Nigel (9/5): Superb -
- Jenny (10/5): Lovely relaxing stay - Immaculate and comfortable ; real home from home for us We enjoyed everything about the property
- Adam (8/5): Very good -
- Pippa (7/5): Good - Unfortunately the boiler wasn't working on arrival so it was cold. The owner was very quick to arrange a plumber to mend it, and after we got home that evening it was nice and warm.
Unfortunately though in the morning the same error message showed on the boiler, so we didn't have any hot water for a shower or washing up. Otherwise it was just what we needed for our night away, and the pub was very handy and friendly, (where the owner worked).
- Elnawrani (10/5): Exceptional -
- Maria (10/5): Excellent stay. Definitely recommended. - The cottage is very nice, clean, well kept, comfortable and for us the location was brilliant. Great place to stay if you want to explore the area, and it is very easy to get into Leicester. There is a also a really good pub next door with friendly atmosphere and good food. We stayed in the cottage for 3 nights and it would be perfect for longer stays too. I liked everything. One thing I would mention, however, is that the cottage is located along a road that sometimes can have traffic, not loads but this may be an issue for some.
- Adrian (10/5): Well placed and exceptionally comfortable - The location was spot on for my next days travel, the cottage was warm, clean and very comfortable.
- Barras (9/5): Superb -
- Stephen (10/5): Exceptional -
- Rosanna (10/5): definately recommend - lovely cottage and so cosy! stayed for 2 nights! arrived late friday staff at the pub were great and very friendly! our dog felt comfortable too 🥰 had a lovely meal at the pub saturday night breakfast was great. comfy bed and sofas. great that there was coffee sugar and tea bags even fresh milk in the fridge. would recommend this place.. we went to melton mowbray the second day we were here then straight to rutland waters for a lovely walk to see the church on the river. then left around 9.30 am sunday and went to loughborough carboot sale before travelling home
- David (8/5): Very good -
- Lisa (7/5): Gorgeous cottage with fabulous onsite local.pub. - The cottage is gorgeous and well decorated, and it has everything you need for 1 or 2 people. Located next to a fabulous pub, somewhere the food and staff were amazing and a small farm that when open you can find animals and a play area for kids. A great size esp as we had our dog who could roam freely around inside. ( There is a gated garden area however most dogs would be able to get through this). I found it strange that there was no welcome pack with information about the cottage, pub, and surrounding areas. No call this number if help needed, info about the gate being locked at night to the car park, what to do on check out with the key, etc. It was cold in the living room, and there were no instructions on how to adapt the heating or on using the log burner. I imagine it would be super cosy when this lit and the manager of the pub did offer to help, thankyou but as we were going to be out for the rest of the day it wasn't needed. He would def have shown us and then it would have been amazing.
- Duncan (10/5): Exceptional -
- Kerry (10/5): Stunning cottage and dog friendly - The fire and dog friendly A little walk from the car park for unloading
- Lindsey (10/5): Fantastic, a cosy and welcoming cottage - Fantastic stay at the cottage, spacious and well laid out. Loved the open fire and cosiness. Next door to a great little pub with good dining. Kitchen was missing plates and a coffee machine would have been nice.
- Mandy (6/5): Pleasant -
- Lee (8/5): Very good - Clean, spacious, attractive and comfortable Lounge was cold, had a fire place, no instructions or a means to light it. Advertised with having a flat panel Tv, there is no TV and No access to internet.
- Rugile (10/5): Exceptional - wonderful place and very nice staff
- James (9/5): Superb -
