Guest Reviews
- Mathieu (8/5): -
- Van Anh (9/5): It was the best decision to spend our stay here to acclimatize. - Excellent breakfast. We had one breakfast onsite and one breakfast packed because we left early in the morning. They were both very nice. The owner (we assumed) always checked in on us and gave us really good tips about the town. They also packed us a nice breakfast bag for our early train which really showed how much they cared about their guests. The road nearby the hotel was under construction so it’s a bit loud but maybe it’s over now.
- Carlos Humberto Francisco (10/5): UNA EXPERIENCIA COMO SIEMPRE, ESPECTACULAR - EL DESAYUNO ESTUPENDO, LA ATENCIÓN DEL PERSONAL ESPECTACULAR.

Personal eher unangenehm, keine Begrüßung, nur ‚your passport please‘.
- Catherine (10/5): Wonderful stay in the Sacred Valley! - The beautiful yard/gardens, friendly & helpful owner and staff, lounge area with fireplace, bathroom with plenty of vanity space for toiletries NA
- Jacky (9/5): -
- Meagan (9/5): Great location, very nice staff, and a beautiful property! - Great location within walking distance to the town square. The grounds are beautiful and provide lots of options for relaxing in between activities. Felt very safe with my toddler and they provided a pack n play! Hot water ran out quickly, limited breakfast
- Luis Felipe (10/5): Placentera - Es central y buena infraestructura
- Ronald Gene-Allen (10/5): Nice quiet stay. - Nice large property with a dog and 8 cats on the premises. Not far from the main plaza, very secure, though never worried about safety. Lots of restaurants nearby. Very quiet area of town. Great staff that were very friendly. Breakfast was a very nice spread. Can’t say there was anything we didn’t like.
- Tim (10/5): Excellent value, best hotel in Ollantaytambo - Great location, friendly and helpful staff, good breakfast buffet. They can handle big groups easily. There’s a nice lounge area with couches and chairs for chilling after a hard day of hiking
- Alexander (9/5): Peaceful and comfortable hotel at the edge of the city center. - The hotel is a conveniently short walk from the center of Ollantaytambo but far enough to be spared most of the bustle and noise. It's off the main road into down behind a gate and door with a buzzer monitored by the staff. Said staff were extremely welcoming and helpful with information about getting around town, food, sights, and the trains to Aguas Calientes. They also watched our bags after checkout while we visited the archaeological site. The property itself is spacious and open with rooms on two floors and a central common room with a fireplace, comfortable seating, and some games. The room was cozy with a very comfortable extra large (king size) bed, good light, and views to the courtyard and Inca granaries on one side and an open green space with mountains behind it on the other. The bathroom had plenty of hot water and the pressure was quite decent. The breakfast was simple but tasty with Andean buffet style continental fare as well as eggs cooked freshly for each guest. It was a lovely stay at a great value. No complaints. Everything was great and if I'm fortunate enough to visit Ollantaytambo again, I would come back to Samanapaq.
- Ana (10/5): - The front desk receptionist. Marisela, was very helpful. she went above and beyond to help reconnect us to an object that we left at our hotel. She found the object and organized a taxi to drop it off for us at our train station. very helpful!
- Eunice (6/5): -
- Megan (10/5): - The staff was incredibly helpful!
- Lorena (10/5): My family loved it! - Breakfast was very good with many healthy options, location great, walking distance from the train station and restaurants
- Ronald (9/5): Nice hotel for a short visit to see the town and MP - Location seemed good, around a 15 minute walk back from the train, the staff arranged a ride for us to the train in the morning, which was very nice. We had a small room, great view, made do with 1 suitcase on the floor and 1 on the table. Staff was always helpful and gave very good and helpful advice. Breakfast was cooked to order, with a buffet and was excellent. We were only there for 2 nights but would recommend.
- Jian (10/5): - Beautiful, clean, quiet place, great staff, nice breakfast!
- Jian (10/5): - Beautiful, clean, quiet place, great staff, nice breakfast!
- Rafael (7/5): - Localização e jardim. Uma aranha na cama.
- Bogdan (8/5): -
- Radovana (9/5): Nice location within walking distance to Ollantaytambo train station in the center of the town. - The hotel has beautiful garden, full of nicely smelling flours. Breakfast is good, the staff is polite. They have a parking space on the courtyard and toll fence all over property, so it is quiet and peacefull.

- Aaron (10/5): Amazing hotel. Beautiful setting and accommodations with huge rooms. - Everything
- ricardo (7/5): -
- Reka Lili (10/5): Perfect hideway!! - The location is very handy and the courtyard is unbelievably quiet. The owner is brilliant and very helpful. We loved everything.
- Renata (10/5): Um casa charmosa e acolhedora - A hospedagem é belíssima.
- Rosemary (10/5): -
- Apurba (10/5): Excellent cozy place at Ollantaytambo. - Cozy and nice. Nice breakfast. Special shout out to the owner, Tula who is very helpful and chatty. She stored our luggage and got our laundry sorted while we were at Machu Picchu. Also, my sis forgot her important meds and she immediately sent the same all the way to cusco.
N finally will miss my fav kitty, Nitty. Nothing to not like. But a strange one, our twin room had a very nice heater but strangely my cousins double bed room didnt and on asking the girl at the reception, she said only some rooms have the heater. So maybe something to consider.
- Nadav (9/5): Had a great time there - The family run hotel, has a lovely and quiet garden, with humming birds. The place is very clean.
The room had the best shower we had encountered in Peru, strong stream and plenty of hot water.
The staff was very kind, the owner gave us a lot of recommendations of places to visit, which aren’t packed with tourists. And also helped plan the rest of our trip in the region.
Ollantaytambo in general is such a nice and charming village (except the main road to the ruins, which is too busy with tourists) Not much, would definitely stay there again
- Celso (10/5): An oasis of quietness and relaxation. Amazing breakfast. - Super quiet and really an heaven for relaxation. Needed to ring the bell to come inside the property. A little odd but the poor lady had to be awake to give us access... We'll, if they want it like this then...
- Silvia (10/5): Staff was excellent and very helpful and friendly, they made us feel very comfortable. - Good location Everything was very well maintained and managed.
- Silvia (10/5): -
- Silvia (10/5): -
Buen desayuno Nada
- maria clea (10/5): - Muito confortável, pertinho do centro histórico.
- juanes7714 (10/5): Hotel a dos cuadras del centro - El personal es muy amable N/A
- Alejandro (10/5): -
- Renata (10/5): Recommended! - Nice and comfortable place to stay! Kind and helpful staff and good location with beautiful gardens to relax. Comfortable rooms with complimentary water, coffee and tea available. Recommended!
- Monica (8/5): Relaxed and comfortable - Tula and her family are lovely, this is a family run place with loads of space to relax both in the garden and in the main livingroom.
The breakfast was delicious too
- JULIANE (6/5): -
- gema (8/5): -
- Daniel (10/5): -
- Anne (10/5): It was a pleasant atmosphere with beautiful, well kept gardens. It felt safe and secluded. - The staff were friendly, knowledgeable and extremely helpful.
- Daniel (10/5): -
- Suraj (9/5): Great place to stay when in Ollantaytambo - We had booked one room for four of us: two adults and two children. The room was spacious and comfortable. The Breakfast was good and we had a good choice of food. The staff were excellent as both reception staff and the kitchen lady were very helpful in providing us with information and making our stay comfortable. We did not have an electric heater in our room on day 1 but we did on day 2. Other than that, our stay at this hotel was excellent.
- Kevin (9/5): Comfortable friendly choice in Ollyanta - Simple but comfortable room. Cozy on a chilly evening. Plesant garden and lounge area. A few minutes walk to restaurants. Friendly host. No complaints!
- Brian (10/5): A wonderful property - It's a lovely property in a very good location. We were so busy during our stay that we didn't have time to enjoy the gardens. The owner is helpful and so patient with my broken Spanish. Another employee who also works at the front desk speaks perfect English. The room was spacious and clean with a wonderful hot shower. The breakfast was very nice. The breakfast room was sooo cold.
- Manuel (10/5): Exceptional - Team Samanapaq was an outstanding host, providing us with a great stay at their place, including breakfast every day, informing us about what to visit in town, where to eat, and arranging a taxi ride to the train station at 4:00 a.m. with a bag lunch for all three of us.
- Subbalakshmi (8/5): Very good -
- Beth (10/5): Perfect place to stay when going to Machu Picchu! - The owner and staff were all so nice and helpful. They stored our luggage for a day after we checked out and arranged for taxi pickup and transport to Cusco. The room was spacious and beds very comfortable with good quality linens. Good wi-fi. The location is perfect, easy walk to the main square, 20 minute walk to the train. There is a shop a few steps away for basic needs, snacks and drinks. The shower was amazing with hot water and good water pressure. High quality towels. There are groundskeepers constantly keeping everything spotless, such a beautiful property! The recommendation to eat at Apu Veronica was spot on. Book a Sacred Valley tour with Juan Carlos at the tour office on the main street. Stay here and you will not be disappointed! Not a big deal, but breakfast was pretty sparse at 8:10 even though it was supposed to end at 9:00 am. I am sure they would have provided more if I would have asked. They provide cocoa leaves, hot eggs, hot cocoa powder, coffee, tea, cereals and breads on the breakfast buffet. Everything else was great and more than made up for this minor inconvenience.
- Matthew (10/5): Would gladly stay again - Location, staff was incredibly pleasant and helpful, clean, facilities were beautiful, luggage storage NA
- Sai (10/5): Beautiful place with kind and welcoming people! - The host was fantastic, the driver was exceptionally kind and got us safely from the airport to the hotel at a reasonable price. They provided us bagged breakfast that was delicious for an early morning trip the following morning. The place is beautifully decorated. When there were some technical difficulties with our shower, they were very accommodating and Nothing at all :)
- Jacqueline (10/5): Quiet, cosy and short walking distance to main square - A Short walking distance from the main square. One of the staff speaks excellent English and was very helpful. Very quiet, lovely garden and cosy tea room area for guest use.
- Judy (10/5): A perfect place to stay in a most spectacular setting - An oasis of calm in the busy town- good accommodation and beautiful gardens. Owner was charming, helpful and welcoming. Nothing
- Alan (9/5): Lovely stay at a great location! - Great location, (very quiet) just a short walk to the main plaza with many restaurants. Staff was fluent in English, and very accommodating. The shower was a walk-in, open area (no curtain or door) but quite spacious and hot water & pressure was good. No problem. Room had plenty of space and lighting, and was clean. Bed was fine. I especially liked the pillows, which were of medium thickness (not the usual overstuffed "luxury" pillows, which I hate). The grounds and area within the hotel property were very well manicured and quite lovely, with amazing views of the surrounding hills (mountains!). TV in the room had no English language channels. No in room heating. When I asked about this, a portable heater was brought to my room (good). However, the heater proved to be very mediocre, only supplying a small amount of heating. I wasn't freezing in the room, but I would have preferred to be slightly warmer. There were spare blankets, however. The breakfast was adequate, though not as deluxe as some other places we stayed at during our trip.
- Michael (9/5): Great stay - Tula is a welcoming and kind host. She kindly let us store our luggage for 4 days while we travelled to Agua Calientes/Machu Picchu. Great suggestions for dining. Lovely gardens.
- Douglas (9/5): Comfortable, quiet, and accessible. - Very nice setting with fresh, delicious offerings and helpful staff. Overall, very satisfied.
- Linda (4/5): Disappointing - The room really smelt like mould.
- Alison (10/5): Lovely little hotel close to the ruins! - Great location! So close to the plaza and the ruins. Breakfast is super convenient and pretty good too. And Tula, the owner, was AMAZING! She was so helpful and friendly and kind. Nothing.
- Francisco (9/5): Superb -
- Julia (10/5): Exceptional -
- Sangram (9/5): A quanint boutique hotel with the charm of home - We stayed there for 2 nights and we visited Machu Pichu one day and did Patacancha hiking the other day.
Samanapaq is a quaint hotel, made up very nicely, with a boutique charm. The owner herself is physically present there and she is always ready to help, which makes a big difference.
We had to leave for our trip at 4 am in morning and she ensured to pack breakfast for both of us in that hour while the normal breakfast starts at 6:30 am in that hotel. She was always guiding and supporting to ensure our stay and holiday is comfortable.
- Anjani (8/5): Quaint hotel with character and charm. - Quaint hotel with character and charm. Perhaps more variety at breakfast would’ve been great but overall amazing stay!
- Alan (10/5): Excellent hotel. Best in mid range hotels in ollantaytambo - Great location near the town center. Very quiet and located in a large garden. Friendly staff and good breakfast. Probably the best place I have stayed in in ollantaytambo. We will definitely stay again
- Ilse (8/5): Very good - Beautiful property with lovely staff and great breakfast, we loved the ceramic dishes handmade by themselves.
Great location on the edge of the village close to the main square
- Morgan (10/5): Fantastic stay - Everything was fantastic!
- Morgan (10/5): Wonderful stay - The property was beautiful. The beds were comfortable. The breakfast was delicious! The hosts were amazing!
- Jenna (10/5): Beautiful little hotel and a great value - The staff were helpful and friendly. We were greeted by the hotel owner and she was able to give us some great recommendations for restaurants to visit and food to try.
The grounds were beautiful and our room had a little balcony with a view of the mountains.
- Ylva (9/5): Superb - Beautiful place, cozy with lots of common areas to hang out in. Cribs for babies. Good breakfast. Very sweet owners. Close to everything, walking distancr and good recommendations. It was a bit cold, cause some windows didnt fit the frames. But a heater was provided and the beauty and the rest of the hotel males up for it.
- Ana (9/5): Nice stay - My friends and I stayed at this place for two nights. The location is walking distance to the main square. Friendly and helpful staff. The beds were very comfortable and nice size room, very clean. It was an enjoyable stay. Internet didn’t get to our room, but strong in main areas
- Travel (10/5): Excellent location, staff, and great Sacred Valley experience - The staff here were absolutely outstanding. They gave great insights and suggestions. Breakfast was fairly simple but delicious with fresh cooked eggs to order. The location was terrific, and overall, we were very happy with our stay here. There was a space heater, but at times in the rainy season (February) it was still cold at times.
- Scott (10/5): Exceptional - The hotel is a fantastic setting, tucked away from view but still fairly close to the town center. The room was spacious, clean, and comfortable. The owner is fantastic, so helpful and focused on our stay. We also loved Ollantaytambo. It's definitely the best place to stay if you're headed to Machu Picchu.
- Jordan (10/5): Exceptional - Beautiful place to stay with great views and nice garden Nothing
- Wendy (10/5): Wonderful place! Loved the location and the staff couldn’t have been nicer. - Great location and friendly staff The beds were a little uncomfortable and tilted.
- Jung (10/5): Wonderful - Excellent location and good breakfast, the hotel has beautiful garden and staffs are very friendly.
- Clara (9/5): Comfortable - The garden, the bed and sheets, breakfast and the host. We feel cold at the first horas in bed, but after we found a heater inside the room. Everything was ok.
- Ye (10/5): Exceptional - Friendly English speaking staff, great breakfast, quiet and beautiful environment.
- Ramakrishnan (10/5): Cozy and beautiful - It’s walkable from the town center and the property is cute. The owner was so nice and helped us with planning for the next day. I’d recommend this to my friends and will go there again.
- Oleksandr (10/5): Exceptional -
- James (6/5): Could have been good if it was quieter in the room - Breakfast was great. The hotel staff were very friendly and polite. The grounds are nice. The toilet was leaking and made loud noises all night long. We were unable to sleep. No A/C or fans in the room made it stuffy.
