• Gabby (9/5): Great rooms, nice hot private onsen - Very spacious room with a view of the river. We could hear a little steam running below the window. I was unsure what to do with my shoes, as it wasn't the standard set up I expected. I'm a foreigner who doesn't speak Japanese, so this probably wouldn't be confusing for locals

• Melanie (9/5): Nice and comfortable stay, good value for money especially considering the food. - We stayed in the western/japanese room, the room looks newly refurbished, it is modern and comfortable and has a hot spring tub in the room which was really nice. The dinners were excellent, with different menus each night and we got to taste a variety of seasonal foods and local specialties. Only complain is that there is a bit too much food and we felt bad that we couldn’t finish. The Japanese breakfasts were equally delicious. The staff were all very friendly and tries their best to communicate although we don’t speak any Japanese. The public bath and dressing room was a bit dated and small. Didn’t use the open air bath.
• Sharon (3/5): Excellent food. However, disappointing experience - The staff in general were polite and helpful. One particular staff also tried to communicate with us through a translator app. The food is excellent The separate private onsen was a walk from the property, its winter and hence it was cold to walk to the private onsen. The private onsen was also cold, it wasn’t a heated environment My child woke up with a few bites on her face and my elder child also had one bite on his: I’m not sure about the cause, hence I alerted the staff at the counter to check on the bedding. She brushed it off saying that the sheets were all disinfected and checked if I had opened the windows. I told her I didn’t and looking at the redness on the face, I told her it could possibly be from the futon. Again she said if it’s the bedding, all of us would have had bites I was a little disappointed by the response. While I can’t be 100% certain that the bite marks on my child’s face came from the bedding, I would likely attribute it to that since she went to sleep ok and woke up with the bites. There was no concern from the staff or even reaching out to help in any way, something which I thought would be a norm in a Japan that is very service oriented. I think what I got was simply a complete denial of responsibility which was disappointing and a dismissal of the situation that it was a pimple. The second night was ok. However I had a very bad night worrying that more bite marks would appear on my child’s face. When we checked out, the same staff saw my child, her face was filled with red bite marks, but there was no asking at all of how she is, even though it was obvious the redness was prominent. A disappointing experience.

• Kai (8/5): Value for money. - There is a cement factory nearby and the rating is lowered a bit. Others are good and food is excellent. It’s too quiet.
• Tara (10/5): Exquisite stay with wonderful meals. - Excellent customer service, beautiful setting, delicious meals. We had a wonderful two days, bathing, going for walks, and eating fantastic food. The staff were very helpful for orienting us to the area and assuring our transportation to and from the Haki bus station. We, 2 couples were raving about our stay. Nothing.
• Mari (10/5): Exceptional - I booked this Rokan as a gift to my parents for my mom's birthday. They enjoyed their stay- said the rooms were clean and spacious, the staff was friendly and helpful. The meals were delicious. The onsen was perfect. Overall they enjoyed their stay very much. Thank you for taking good care of them.
