All that was needed was a cover for the sink drain. A lot of places in Mexico don’t have a plumbing venting system so covering the drains is normal.

The sheets and towels were cheap and old. The bathroom needs to be updated…the faucet over the sink was just a pipe sticking out of the wall.

This is a quirky place with a great location to walk everywhere. Too loud for most people. Location is both good a bad. It is VERY loud. The windows are open air style with shutters. The bathroom is in the "kitchen area" (literally the toilet is where you eat) and the "kitchen area" is a hot plate and dorm style refrigerator. There was a small bar stool and a table chair, but that is the only seating in the room. It is incredibly loud at night until about 2am unless you turn the fan on full blast, which made it cold in our room and there are no extra blankets, even upon request. The internet does not work in room. There is no safe which was concerning considering our door could be pushed open by with one finger. This is a VERY quirky hotel. I liked it but it was expensive for what you got. Many people would not enjoy the room we stayed in.

Tons of open space, places to gather with folks, many little charming touches. Each room unique, and old-time feel. Perfect location. Staff lovely. Cement trucks seem to take this route to the condo construction site. 🙁

Catherine (9/5): Really cool local hotel with a lot of style & rustic charm. - Really cool treehouse like design with great views, cool common areas, wonderful staff, central location. The central location does mean that it’s quite loud at night, but that seems to be the norm in San Pancho now.

I liked that it had lots of stair cases and different seating areas with little kitchens. you could make meals if you wanted! I loved the location and our room was spacious and comfortable. A/C worked great and it had a king bed with a ceiling fan so we were very happy. if someone is making breakfast early right outside your room - you would hear it. we didn't have that issue but just calling it out for sensitive folks.

I just love this place . The building itself is amazingly unique with its rustic but very cozy feel. The construction technique they used is impressive in their utilization on hardwood Open and inviting common areas allow for easy interactions with other guests. Flor, Oriana and "Abuelo" were all so nice and accommodating. We had a great experience here and would definitely recommend this hotel. Nada
Heloise (9/5): - We loved this place. It was so funky and beautiful, and unique. We loved the hammocks. You can do yoga on the roof in the morning. There were plants everywhere. The staff were very friendly and we also enjoyed the shared kitchen and common spaces. Excellent location too. The pool was lovely and refreshing but tiny. It cools you down but it is too small to really swim. Good for playing though.

There was always a lovely breeze and a great view. We did not realize how loud the karaoke bar next door would be and weekend nights are absolutely wild downtown.

Having drinking water available was great and it was wonderful to have morning coffee ready in the lobby. Previous reviews complained about the kareoke, but it was only one night and done by 11 pm The pool was small, in the shade and unheated...but honestly we were too busy enjoying the town to use it.

Good thing I had put all of my food in the fridge or it could have been way worse. He got an avocado skin out of my garbage one day and that was about it. Because the place is open air, it is very noisy from the street and bar in front of the property. It quiets down at about 12:00am, but if you are at all sensitive to noise, do not stay here as it is loud.

Carmen (10/5): It was a pleasure to stay here and introduce our friends to San Poncho. - The property is located on a quiet side street very close to the beach. Our beds were very comfortable and the organic products in the bathrooms were lovely. The kitchen was well equipped for our short stay and we appreciated the little market across the street too. Best of all is the staff. Everyone who works there is lovely and eager to answer questions or make suggestions. There is only on street parking.

Jeffery (9/5): Superb - The location is in the heart of everything. The people who manage the hotel were exceptionally nice, shared information, and kind. The hotel is Mexico bohemian: plants, colors, birds, and the noises of nearby bars/restaurants. When we stay in San Pancho next, we will look for a room here! Use the bug net over the bed. I thought the fan would be enough to detour mosquitoes the first night, and was wrong.

Sharene (5/5): Passable - Hotel staff was lovely in the rooms were clean. It was very loud because of the karaoke bar next door and there were no window panes, there was nothing to block the noise. You pretty much were awake untill 12:00 a.m. before The bar next door quit playing. However, I will say the staff did try to accommodate us and moved us, however it did not block the noise. We also woke up and there was no water in the toilet or the sinks and the rooms were dark and it was difficult to put makeup on.

Marques (9/5): Awesome facilities! - Staff was extremely friendly and helpful. Cecilia was an awesome host / manager. The room was a fantastic size for the money. The location couldn't be better, it is extremely close to the beach as well as shops and restaurants.

Ellen (7/5): Great location in the middle of everything and right near the beach and (noisy) nightlife! - The hotel is three levels reachable by stair. Each level has some common area with seating, hammocks, tables in various arrangements. The wi-fi is good throughout the property. On our top level, there was a table for 3 or 4 people to enjoy a view of the Ocean. There are interesting antique furniture pieces on every level and in the nice lobby. The roof level has a clothesline (wish I had known about it prior to the last full day before check-out!) I would caution anyone who wants to enjoy quiet nights that there is a lot of music coming from many restaurants and bars on the main drag, just around the corner from the hotel. Earplugs are insufficient, so sleep aids might be necessary if you don't feel like just joining the crowd. Our bungalow-style room had an open air thatched roof, and we were invaded by a squirrel after a few days. During the third day, we returned to find a half-eaten banana, then he got into the well-wrapped bread and chips the following day. On our last night, with all food in the fridge, he went through the garbage and I found him actually sitting on the kitchen counter in the morning. Staff seemed unconcerned, saying there was nothing they could do because the owners were "pro-animals". They may be right about nothing they can do, but DO NOT stay in this particular room (third floor bungalow with kitchen) if you don't want to share your space and your food with animals coming out of the trees. (I imagine that other rooms may not have as much noise as ours, as well, due to our open ceiling.) Also, you have to ask for what you need, like fresh towels after 4 days, or a new bag for trash, etc. You will be accommodated by the kind staff without issue, but you might need to check your expectations.
Deanna (8/5): I would highly recommend this hotel for anyone looking to vacation in a friendly and welcoming location. - It was like being in a giant treehouse. I loved it ! It was very clean and bug free . There is music close by and goes all day long offering different genres to satisfy everyone’s tastes. Quiet time is around 10 pm . The Hotel is surrounded by many good little restaurants and bars within five minutes walking distance . The beach is also less than 5 minutes away . The main street is lined with lovely little clothing shops and artisans selling their handcrafted wares . The staff are very friendly and accommodating. I think they should have safes in every room and each floor could have its own coffee and water station . The pool is kept clean but its location is not in the sun .

Susan (10/5): This is a really friendly place- lovely hotel in a beautiful village. - This is my second visit here. The hotel is really well located and a 2 minute walk from the beach. The rooms are lovely and the staff are really helpful and kind. We will be back. The hotel is right next to a karaoke bar which goes on late. As the roof is a palapa - everything is open and not sound proof. Bring ear plugs.
