Guest Reviews
- Lesley (10/5): Definitely recommend to anyone looking for a comfortable & convenient place to stay. Happily return. - I recently stayed at Cairnie Cottage and had a fantastic experience overall. The space was exactly as described - clean, comfortable and thoughtfully set up for guests. From the moment I arrived, it felt welcoming, with quality touches that made a big difference, like fresh linens and clear instructions for everything in the home.
The location was also a major highlight. It was conveniently situated close to local walks and shops making it easy to explore the area without any hassle. Despite being so accessible, the neighborhood itself was quiet and peaceful, which made for a very fun and relaxing stay.
The host was responsive and helpful throughout the entire process. Communication was smooth, and they were quick to answer any questions I had, which made everything feel stress-free.
- John (8/5): - The house was cold when we arrived but soon heated up would have preferred the heating to have been on prior to our arrival.
- David (10/5): - The cottage is central to Ballater yet in a quiet location.
Ample parking was available at the time of our visit in a fairly secure location.
The cottage was very clean and well presented, with a really nice basket of goodies to help with getting going.
Each room was spacious and clean with nice furnishings.
A handy bike storage garage is also available.
We would definitely stay here again and can recommend it to future customers. A power socket in the garage would be useful, but this is not a criticism only a suggestion.
- John (10/5): Most enjoyable, many thanks. - Fabulous location, beautiful scenery, magnificent walking in the mountains. Plenty of places to eat out in Ballater The two beds in twin bedroom were old and out of keeping with the rest of the furniture in the property. Mattresses were very soft and uncomfortable.
- Cat (10/5): - The house was bright, airy and clean. It was modern and beautifully furnished.
Great space for 6 of us.
The kitchen had lots of storage space, cooking facilities were good, open plan to the dining room.
The sitting area was comfortable and cosy.
2 big shower rooms, 1 with a bath and toiletries and towels supplied
There was a welcome box full of Scottish goodies waiting for us.
The house is just minutes walk from the town
The whole experience exceeded our expectations.
- Stig (9/5): - Rigtig dejlig gårdhave. God plads, fint køkken og gode værelser. Fin beliggenhed i en hyggelig by. Gode parkeringsforhold. Kan klart anbefales. Der var ikke noget.
- kenneth (10/5): - Location excellent 👍 Nothing
- Lynsey (10/5): Lovely few days in beautiful cottage superbly located - Location was fantastic! Cottage was lovely and spacious. Immaculate throughout and there was a little basket with cheese, oatcakes, shortbread etc when we arrived which was nice. Not really anything I could fault. Mattresses too soft for me but that’s just me and not really anything to do with overall comfort as everyone’s different
- Andrew (10/5): Homely, well equipped, perfect location, little outdoor courtyard, and parking space - will return! - Property was perfect for our needs and very well equipped. Exceptionally clean, comfortable and homely. Lots of room and extra storage in garage if needed. Location also perfect, couple of minutes walk to town centre with all amenities you need. Even a beer garden at end of road. Fantastic Golf course just around the corner with tennis facilities. Nothing
- Sandra (10/5): - We had a wonderful stay at this charming cottage right in the heart of the village. The location was perfect — just steps from everything, yet peaceful and quiet. Inside, the space was spotlessly clean, beautifully modern, and surprisingly spacious with lots of natural light.
We were greeted with a lovely welcome basket, which was such a thoughtful touch, and the bathrooms were well-stocked with high-quality toiletries. The private courtyard was a real gem — a sunny little haven that made it so easy to unwind and relax.
Overall, everything about our stay was comfortable and easy. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a cozy and relaxing getaway!
- E. (9/5): Enjoyed our stay - Love the light extension. Did find it expensive for two people. - Good position for walking to the golf club - and keeping our clubs in the entrance area. Two ladies came to our door on the Wednesday and informed us we were not allowed to park at the back door- we were in front of the garage and the back door. We parked there two years ago when we rented previously. First night - no internet!!! Decided to reboot and found the router had been unplugged!
Suggestions- waste bins in each room., possible chair or stool in downstairs bedroom.
- J16gbn (10/5): Superb find - Super property, spacious with a private outside space. Very well catered for with everything you need for a trip away. Renovation tastefully done with a lovely mix between a cottage feel and modern, light bright spaces. Comfortable bed too. Location is very central with all amenities within easy reach.
- Campbell (10/5): Exceptional - We had a great stay at Cairnie Cottage.
There was spacious off road park at the rear of the property.
Very spacious inside and everything is in excellent order, The kitchen has plenty of utensils and the place was lovely and warm for us arriving and spotless also.
There is a private courtyard with table and chairs that is a nice touch.
Couldn't fault this stay. Evening was great
