• Jes (5/5): TIDY - The staff when greeted at reception and upon leaving. They were very polite and friendly. The location as the event we attended was only up the road. It was the main reason why I chose this motel. Upon arriving, the motel grounds were lovely and tidy. The room was tidy and cute. There was access to a play area for the kids. A laundromat also available. There were two rooms; 1 had a double bed and the other had two single beds. There was a bed and a sofa bed in the lounge. It accommodated all of us. The kitchenette area was good. I liked the layout of the room. The first thing I noticed was the smell of the room. It must be a product you're using as it didn't agree with us so I had to purchase a room spray to mask it. A couple of the kitchen drawers and the bottom tray on the fridge door were not cleaned. The fridge leaked. There were cobwebs above the inside of the doorway entrance and in the corner of the bed in the lounge area. The beds were lumpy, found a sock under a bed in the single bed bedroom. I thought it belonged to my nephew but he said it wasn't his. The width of all the curtains were too short and didn't stretch from side to side. They also had stains on them. I had to put the cushion of the sofa seat up against the section that was exposed to maintain privacy. It was either that side or exposing the bed from opening of the sliding door entrance side. Need new curtains. The heat pump had auto, cool or dry - when trying to regulate heating - it only worked on auto which didn't allow you to manipulate the fan or direction. It was either too cold or too hot Room didn't have a phone to reception. The folder may need updating as it had a Xmas notice inside it. There was no ironing board and iron in the room. The TVs weren't smart TVs (maybe a minor but would help for screencasting etc by adding a google chrome cast).

• Jacinta (10/5): Just what we needed - Customer service was great, I felt welcome when we arrived a bit later than what we said. The room was perfect, it was heated when we entered, spacious for 2, well lit and very clean & tidy. Loved the shower, it had the right temp and pressure. Parking space was also great. Good proximity to shops and 5 min drive to town centre. Overall we loved staying here. After a shower, the bathroom floor can get a little slippery. You have to dry the floor and the bathmat might not be enough. The bed was comfy but too soft for me & hubby who prefer more of a firmer mattress.

The unit I was in had trees and shrubbery growing all around it and up against it,, in the wind they banged on the unit and made it difficult to sleep.

And Chris and Ruth are amazing hosts who take out their time from their busy schedule to have a chat with you. That we didn’t spend a lot of time there.

• mohini (10/5): Beautiful experience with a pool for a hot day. - It was very clean and gave homely feeling. You could feel the love and care put into the property. Chris and Ruth- the hosts- were very friendly and made a point to having a chat despite their busy schedule. The bed I was using had a broken spring which was a little bother but not uncomfortable.

Unit exceeded expectations, looks like it was recently renovated, heat pump, extraction fan in bathroom etc. Very clean, comfortable beds. We have spent the past week travelling around the East Cape, staying in various accommodation ranging in price from $75 to $170 per night; Sunnydays was by far the nicest unit we have stayed in. As an added bonus my 3 year old loved the trampoline. Road noise when outside was on the loud side as it’s a main road but couldn’t hear it from our room - double glazed windows were good.
