- Malcolm (10/5): Amazing hotel in beautiful setting - Brilliant staff , location for chatsworth estate, lovely feeling the moment you walk in , relaxed and professional at the same time , superb hotel Only small thing is the menu in the garden restaurant , could be changed slightly , maybe a pasta dish or burger could be added for bit more variety , and different soup on different days please
- Derek (8/5): A lovely couple days. A classy old-world hotel staffed by excellent people. - The staff, meals and communal areas were all excellent. Both restaurants were very good, the Gallery exceptional. Our only gripe was the bathroom which had a shower over the bath and no hand rails. We are not young!! As pointed out by the lovely receptionist, I should have requested a walk in shower.
- Hubin (10/5): - 工作人员服务态度好,酒店的餐厅也是米其林四星,口味不错👌。有小道可以直通查斯沃斯庄园,晚上还能看到漫天星空

My daughter left her reMarkable tablet in the room. Heidi and the reception team were so amazing in finding it, and taking extra efforts to courier the parcel to my home address. We will back at this place in summer months

- Julian Kirby (4/5): Overpriced - Location - we went to the Christmas at Chatsworth the next morning (not to be repeated...) Cost - very costly and you would be far better off elsewhere. Service in the restaurant was really slow and they were not at all busy. Portion sizes small.

- John (9/5): Great break in lovely surroundings - Excellent Nothing
- Chris (8/5): - Staff very helpful and friendly. Breakfast service was a little regimented - anything ordered out of sequence seemed to throw them.

- Andrew (10/5): -
- Cheng (9/5): -
- Bree (7/5): - Beautiful property. Clean and cozy room I was on the bottom floor near the entrance of the building and could hear people coming and going at all times due to the creakiness of the property
- Teresa (8/5): Idyllic - Majority Prices of food due to portion size and drink
- cole (10/5): -
- jane (10/5): -
- Sandra (8/5): Lovely comfortable hotel with warm welcome - Convenient location Long walk and stairs to twin room however this was due to taking my 93 year old mother. Also would have been useful to have a walk in shower

- Christine (9/5): We had a very enjoyable stay in this very pretty part of the country. - Location ideal. Nice room with views overlooking the parkland. Loved the artwork in the room and rest of hotel. Easy to park. The beds could do with an upgrade and the pillows were hard.
A la carte breakfast took a long time to arrive.
- Mallika (9/5): - The view was amazing, and the staff were super friendly and helpful. They were always ready to help with anything we needed. The room was really spacious and perfect for a quiet, relaxing getaway. The food was delicious, and they were very careful about food allergies, which I really appreciated. The hotel is also in a great location, close to the bus station and main road, so it’s easy to get there even without a car. It would be even better if the hotel offered bicycles for guests to ride around nearby, since taxis can get quite busy. You usually have to plan ahead and book one in advance, and the wait time can be around 10–15 minutes.
- Lauren (10/5): A perfect country retreat near to Chatsworth House - Fantastic location for Chatsworth House
Cosy and beautifully finished room
Bathtub
Beautiful grounds
- Stephen (10/5): Wonderful stay, great staff, lovely location - Understated elegance with excellent staff/service with lovely food. Our suite was well appointed with views of the Chatsworth Estate, a nice country chic vibe with all the essentials needed to improve our stay. The dining and seating areas feel relaxed and cosy. The staff are wonderful from the moment we walked in we felt well taken care of, their attention to detail for us and our wedding guests made our stay memorable, nothing was too much trouble. The TV in our room could benefit from more channels / streaming services e.g. Netflix etc.
- Nigel (10/5): -
- Charlotte (10/5): Blissful and idyllic.. delicious food, exceptional service and comfy cozy bedrooms - Beautiful setting and calm decor Nothing
- Patrick (8/5): A unique location and a hotel that will stay in the mind a long time after a visit , - An exceptional location in a delightful spot . A comfortable hotel with very good, attentive service . The food is very good : very nice breakfasts and high quality cooking in the evenings . Altogether a memorable stay .
- Parker (10/5): A Silver Wedding anniversary treat. - Perfect location for the Chatsworth estate and house all within walking distance. A special mention for the delightful staff who couldn't do enough for you.
High quality dining experience but also a superb Italian restaurant over the road as an alternative. Honestly, nothing.
- Fiona Sampson (5/5): Disappointed - Good location. I paid for a spacious king size room as a gift for my father's birthday. I requested a particular room from the spacious range and was told they were "most happy to request the room l had described". Without any further communication my father was put into a different room. I was very disappointed that noone phoned me to tell me the requested room would not be allocated or to tell me why. When you pay £360 for a room l would expect a much better level of communication and service. I was also very disappointed that my father's final bill had the cost of the already paid room cost on it. The hotel knew it was a birthday gift and this should not have been on the final bill he was presented with. He was shocked at how much l had spent...he should never have known this.
I contacted the hotel and received a very disappointing response from reception. I had to request the manager's email twice before l was sent it. I am told that improvements will be made in communication and how bills are presented if the room is a gift. A gesture of goodwill was made but a hotel of this calibre should not be making these basic mistakes.
- Anneli (8/5): Lovely weekend get away - Lovely breakfast and dinner - food was exceptional. Setting gorgeous with views overlooking Chatsworth. Staff very attentive. Rooms very comfortable with nice decor and great shower gel/shampoo and finishing touches like tea/coffee/ biscuits. My mother was elderly and very frail. We were delighted they had a wheelchair but the twin room was miles away from the restaurant with twists and turns, uneven floors and several steps. They could improve their disabled facilities and access/ disabled parking.
- Emma (10/5): Fantastic - Everything! It was a brilliant stay. The Room was very clean and comfortable with great touches. Really enjoyed the breakfasts, we ate dinner in both the restaurants which was delicious Nothing!
- Geraint (9/5): -
- Denly (9/5): -
- Locke (10/5): - Dinner in the Gallery Room exceptional. Quaint hotel. Very friendly staff. Loved the stay. Room exceeded my expectations. Would definitely stay here again. Chatsworth estate lot further away than I thought. Needed to take taxi to get there.
- kathy (5/5): Having read the recent Sunday Times review of the hotel our experience was rather disappointing - Location The room was small for the price & the colour scheme dreary both in the room & in the corridors
The towels & bathrobes were rather old & no longer white & fluffy. . The arm chairs in the room looked tired . The service in the restaurant was slow
- Mark (10/5): -
- Eleanor (10/5): -
- Charles (9/5): Would have liked to use hotel more but business - Service and staff were excellent
- neil (10/5): - Very good
- Sheila (10/5): Relaxing and luxurious - The door and atmosphere were lovely; tasteful but relaxed I can’t think of anything
- Shaoshi (9/5): -
- Joyce (9/5): -
- Ann (8/5): Enjoyable stay with some good points. - The staff were attentive and helpful and sorted an anniversary sweet. The room was nicely decorated with great views. There was a good drinks selection, with fresh milk. The restricted TV volume later at night was a good touch. The toiletries were good quality. The bed was very comfortable with good pillows. We had a little difficulty seeing the door lock and could have done with a brighter light next to the door. In the bathroom, the towels were far away from the sink. A hook would've been useful as we ended up putting the hand towel on the toilet. The windows were painted shut, which meant as it was warm, we couldn't open them for air. Although the fan helped to cool the room, the noise from it stopped us having a good night's sleep.
- sandra (8/5): Beautiful but expensive - Location perfect Costly
- Xig (9/5): Fabulous -
- Dominic (10/5): -
- Lisa (10/5): - The experience was perfect. The setting was gorgeous and the amenities first class. Beds were very comfortable. We loved rooms 2 and 4 overlooking the back fields of Chatsworth. Ideal setting. The hotel was very well maintained and cozy. The food was all high quality and fresh.
- Leona (9/5): Well-appointed hotel with superb restaurant and beautiful views - Wonderful access to Chatsworth parkland The pricing of breakfast offerings is a little misleading
- David (9/5): Superb -
- Timothy (9/5): Really delightful - a wonderful boutique hotel - the staff were very welcoming, the buildings and decoration very charming and the location perfect. The tasting menu was superb. the dining room knives were very blunt.... a minor item for what otherwise was a perfect stay.
- Romie (6/5): Pleasant - Location
Staff Dinner. Small size of Gnocchi
Breakfast. Ran out of fruit salad.at 9.45; 10 minutes wait for the tea
- Richard (7/5): Middling. - Good location. Rooms tiny. Very expensive.
- Gary (8/5): Enjoyable stay - Great location, staff very friendly and helpful. Only had breakfast for the two days we stayed, but that was lovely. Nothing specific, the room we stayed in suffered from noise through the ceiling from the upstairs rooms. Parking was limited for us, particularly for disabled badge. They had a private event, which took up a lot of space in the car park, large range rovers parked in disabled areas.
- Annette (10/5): Perfect stay for my daughter’s Wedding, food was amazing. - Perfect location, excellent attentive staff, traditional meets modern. Sound proofing of rooms
- Lynne (9/5): Very pleasant - The staff were amazing and so helpful. We had the seven course meal in the restaurant which was absolutely perfect. We also had the Wine Flight and found this both very interesting and entertaining as the Sommelier was so enthusiastic we thought he could start his own TV show. The hotel was charming but a little bit too old fashioned for my liking. It was next to a very busy main road and the old sash windows could only be held open by using a shoe as a temporary wedge, as I like a bit of fresh air and there was no Air Conditioning.
- Tracey (9/5): Superb -
- Thomas (9/5): Superb -
