Guest Reviews
- Guido (8/5): Un buon alloggio per le mie esigenze -
- Viana (9/5): -
- Seren (10/5): - Warm welcome, comfortable room. I felt safe and had everything I needed.
- Clare (8/5): Conveniently located stay - The property was in a convenient location, with good transport connections (410 bus to East Croydon and Tramlink). I loved the artwork on the walls and appreciated the use of the kitchen. Communication was good with Jean (the proprietor). I could not find instruction manuals for the air fryer (never used one) or the microwave.
- Samantha (9/5): - Jean was a very kind and helpful host. The cottage is located close to a tram stop and bus stop and a ten minute walk from Croydon centre
- Bernadette (10/5): - The accommodation is in a quiet but safe area of Croydon. Easy check in & out. Near to shops, tram and buses. I was able to cook a full meal as everything was provided. Would highly recommend.
- Ryan (9/5): Excellent for short stays, 10/10 - Really enjoyed the cosyness of the location and house. The homeowner was super warm and friendly. Would highly reccomend if you're looking for a good value place to say for a few nights. Not walking distance from either Croydon stations, and buses dont stop nearby. You'd need to take a taxi if you have luggages.
- Harley (8/5): Great value for money stay in a lovely cottage in Croydon - In a great location a quick walk from the main streets of Croydon. The house looked very nice with a lovey bedroom and bathroom. The kitchen had everything you would need in it minus a few unessential utensils. Some of the kitchenware could’ve been a bit cleaner (eg plates and cutlery), but nothing a quick wash in the sink couldn’t clean. Aside from that, it was a lovely stay.
- valerie (10/5): - Welcome and avaibility of Jean
Situation , near the tram
Quiet place
- Cormac (9/5): Superb - Excellent ,clean accommodation close to Croydon central. Exclusive access to own kitchen & bathroom. Definitely recommended with a good price too. ☘️😎👋
- Susanne (7/5): It was good. - The host is a lovely gentleman 😊 The heating wasn't enough. I was very cold the entire night.
- Yuh-fang (10/5): Cozy and lovely stay - The room is spacious, and the environment is calm and relaxing. The host is kind and helpful. Transportation to the property may require multiple connections or a bit of walking.
- Bernadette (9/5): Superb - A wonderful stay (2nd time). Jean was an excellent communicator. Room was exactly like the photos - had everythig you could need (microwave, fridge, kettle, cutlery & crockery). You only share with 1 other person. All facilities are exceptionally clean. 5 minutes from local tram stop and Croydon town centre, plus very close to Purley Retail Park. Would highly recommend and would stay again. Nothing to dislike.
- Poetamatusèl (8/5): A great stay close to central London - Both rooms were attractive, well-furnished and clean. The beds were very comfortable. The kitchen well-equipped. Quiet street at night, in spite of being close to a main thoroughfare. The host was pleasant and considerate, quick in responding to any requests. Well-served for public transport, with tram, rail and buses only minutes away on foot. Most definitely highly recommended accommodation! 👍👏👌
- Rebekah (9/5): I had a very pleasant and peaceful stay at Rectory Cottage with everything I needed. -
- Karl (5/5): Passable -
- Fiona (9/5): A very comfortable stay in a lovely, clean room with excellent facilities, close to good amenities. - My stay was Room Only, so cannot comment on breakfast. The facilities within my room were ideal and the property was lovely and clean. Additionally, the location was perfect for my needs; a 15 minute walk to my training course, and a 3 minute walk to shops and restaurants. The host was very friendly and helpful. I would recommend without reservation. Didn't find anything to dislike - everything was good.
- Richie (8/5): Perfectly pleasent - Exactly as described, good value All good
- Gloria (10/5): The best hotel in Croydon - The cleanliness Nothing
- Robert (9/5): Perfect for overnight stay - Room was gorgeous and comfy
Nice facilities Nothing :)
- Patrick (9/5): Superb -
- Talita (10/5): Exceptional -
- Hamida (10/5): Host was really nice and has a beautiful house (reminds me of the seaside) - Great spacious room, comfortable bed, included fridge/freezer/kettle/toaster/microwave.
- Snooplet (9/5): Superb - It was a comfortable nice room. I liked staying there.
- Teresa (3/5): AVOID IF YOU ARE A LONE FEMALE TRAVELLER - Room was pleasant decor
Shower was hot
Good location Really aggressive male owner who threw a new pillow at me in the room. As a lone female on my own in a room with him. I found this intimidating given he was shouting at me too saying his pillows did not smell and were not stained/yellow
I called, what's apped and text the owner as when I arrived at the property the room was so cold I had to keep my coat on for nearly 2 hours until the heating kicked in. Did not respond to me until over 2 hours later. I shared that the pillows/pillowcases were really smelly and on removing the pillowcases the pillows were yellow, stained and clearly very old. He argued with me on his return to the property disputing what I had said. I had just wanted a peaceful couple of nights. I kept the door locked at all times and felt unsafe by his aggressive behaviours. I did not sleep well but kept the key in the lock. I had no trust.
He became really angry when I shared I was disappointed that the fridge and microwave were not in the room despite all the pictures when I booked showing that they were. This was one of the main reasons I booked as I had food with me for work. He was blasé that they had been relocated to another part of the house.
AVOID if a lone female traveller.
- Madeleine (9/5): Very satisfied and grateful to my accomodating hosts - I was unable to check in until some time after the deadline but the hosts were very helpful, they left the keys out and welcomed me in despite the late hour. I was very grateful.
The room was well appointed with hot beverages made available. The mattress is on the firm side which might suit others better than it does me. I'm
not very keen on shared bathrooms but this one was very clean and I would only have been sharing it with one other room which was vacant during my 2 night stay so I didn't have to share.
- Clayton (9/5): Superb - Clean, tidy and quiet
- Anonymous (9/5): Superb -
- Rajesh (7/5): Good -
- Hosmer (8/5): It was clean, quiet, and comfortable, but a little far from the places I was going to during the day - The location was a bit far from the Center of London, but there are fast trains and Thames-link trams. I took the buses to see the land around outer London, so it took much longer--about an hour and a half to Central London. It was nice to be able to wash a load of laundry while there and the fridge in the room was nice for water and fruit. After I figured out how to lock the door, it was easy to do everything.
- Joel (7/5): Very comfortable and well equipped - Really good facilities
- James (8/5): Very good -
- Paul (8/5): Very good - The room very well equipped, a lovely home and very clean
- Chitontozo (10/5): Modern, spacious and convenient ! - The room and overall building decoration and furniture were very inviting and aesthetically pleasing. Lots of space in the room, including multiple areas to sit, lots of storage and a very nice garden view. The bathroom shower was lovely, space in there was great too. Lots of lighting throughout the property. Spacious fridge and lots of amenities included. Perfect stay! Sadly with the heatwave, the thick curtains blocked any air (if any) from open windows from entering the room, but it was still manageable to sleep as the duvet was light and thin. Not the owner's fault but the neighbours did have a party going till late and I could hear everything as I went to bed, but again manageable and did not lose any sleep!
- Rae (10/5): A little haven of calm - Lovely touches .. aesthetic.. tasteful and individual style, very peaceful
- Ian (8/5): Easy to book and check in - It was very convenient for the London - Paris bike ride starting the next day. Cheap. Nothing
- Smit08pyahoo (7/5): Good -
- Brendan (8/5): Good place to stay with Wandle Park nearby. - Good location, not far from centre of Croydon where there is the trams, buses, shops, cafes etc.
Was able to have a good night sleep.
- Smith (7/5): Budget option - Convenient location, 10 minute walk to East Croydon and West Croydon station.
Basic accommodation, one (lockable) bedroom in a large house plus shared shower / toilet. Fridge, microwave, cutlery and crockery provided as no meal options are offered. Property is clean. Wifi is good. Check in was tricky as I was sent a postcode but no house number, and the contact phone number went straight to vmail. This seems to have been a copy/paste error with the first line clipped from the joining instructions, so hopefully a one-off.
- Muhammed (8/5): Very good -
- Darren (8/5): Very good - perfect location for the tram which was what i needed. Nearest pub wasn't that great but short walk into town for better bars etc
- Nikhil (7/5): Good -
- Nicholas (10/5): Private and pleasant in true French style! -
- Amir (8/5): Very good -
