Guest Reviews
- Parker (8/5): - The staff was amazing. The unit has been updated and was very comfortable. The bathroom and shower need update.
- Karen (7/5): The space worked perfectly for 3 people - Location, restaurant, access to someone to talk to ( Dylan ) was very easy. Extra amenities in room Not the cleanest.. lots of dust and cob webs. A bit outdated . Did love the decorations
- Gravel (10/5): - It was a great mother-daughter weekend. Perfect area to walk the whole main Street. We parked our car on Friday. Didn't go to it until Sunday when we left. The restaurant has an amazing staff! Food was awesome!!
Rien
- Yannick (10/5): Passage de deux nuits sur un circuit plus long - Des petites attentions gratuites : serviettes de plage, glacière, bouteille de vin, café. Wifi trop faible
- Robert (10/5): -
- Umberto (9/5): -
- Guest (10/5): A fabulous stay ... We felt welcome and cared about, throughout - Breakfast was not provided but the hosts made excellent recommendations There is nothing that we would change
- Serena (10/5): Absolutely wonderful - Everything Nothing
- Matt (9/5): Superb - I loved the location walking distance from everything
- Russell (8/5): Very good -
- Rachel (10/5): Exceptional -
- Maria (9/5): Cozy, well equipped and centrally located - Loved my stay here! The place is simple but cozy, quiet and well equipped, in the heart of Hyannis. I didn’t have a car so this was perfect for me as I could walk everywhere (5min to Main Street, 15min to harbor, 25min to beach, 5min ride to mall). There is parking space however and a restaurant next door. I felt safe and relaxed here. Thanks to Dylan, super diligent host.
- Rossall (10/5): Exceptional -
- Janb (5/5): Not peaceful staying at a bar - I recently stayed in the Portside Taverns' deluxe queen studio. I just bought 2 E-bikes and was told there was a secure location to store them behind a gated privacy fence. Communication from the host was very good when I expressed concern about security. This was my biggest factor when deciding where to stay along with peace and quiet.
When my wife and I arrived, we toured the 2nd/3rd floor studio and initially were very happy. It looked recently renovated with the fresh paint and flooring. We found complimentary snacks, wine, and a couple of beers. The cookware looked new and there was a full-size gas stove with oven. However, there was virtually no counter space to prepare meals on. There was no dishwasher, dish drainer or a place to put clean dishes while you washed them. One of the bulbs under the microwave was burned out and little light was showing while cooking. A K-cup coffee maker and complimentary Dunkin’ Donuts coffee was provided but none where decaf which is what we only drink. We brought our own decaf coffee but the coffee pot on the drip-coffee maker was missing. We had to either go without or buy locally. The bathroom was fresh and clean. There were more towels than we would use in a month but only 3 washcloths. There were no towel bars in the bathroom, just 2 hooks for everything. The tiny bath soap ran out after 2 showers and there weren’t any extras. Things started to go down hill from here. Our hopes for peace and quiet for reading and sleeping late were dashed. Every evening until late night, a non-stop flow of patrons and employees noisily made their way to the bar. We can hear every alarm being set and doors slamming. After closing, either the employees or over-served patrons loitered just outside our window until after 11 PM. Loud conversations, arguments, and foul language disturbed our reading and kept us up. Every morning starting between 6:00 – 6:45 AM, loud hip hop music blasted from the kitchen-door porch just below our window. Buckets of ice were noisily shoveled into buckets to get the bar ready for the day. Delivery trucks backed up to the kitchen door… beep, beep, beep.
Almost every morning, we stood in the shower waiting for the hot water to arrive and most times it didn’t. One morning there was no water at all for hours but no one gave us a heads up it that it would be out or when it would come back on. We ended up using our 3 allotted wash cloths most days.
Almost every time we passed the privacy gate, it was open for peering eyes to see our brand-new E-bikes, I keep shutting the gate but it was open the next time I passed by.
The outside door leading to the second floor had no landing. You had to immediately duck and step up. Twice I hit my head on the top of door frame. This can’t be within building code.
I did not give the host Dylan Jordan an opportunity to fix anything because other than the bath soap and wash cloths, what can he do? The most important lesson I learned was, if you want peace and quiet on a vacation, don’t stay at a bar.
- Joe (9/5): Loved staying there. Close to everything. Well equipped room - Great location and amenities
- Lauren (10/5): Exceptional - Location was perfect to access ferry, transportation center, and attached to an amazing restaurant/bar. The apartment was beautifully remodeled and I appreciated snack bar with beverages. Nothing
- Diane (10/5): Everything was perfect and we will be returning guests! - This place is great! Loved the location. The apartment was perfect! Everything was there as needed! Nothing. Loved it!
- Jabed (2/5): No wifi, no reception, holes in the wall looks suspicious, no Amenities, No curtains, parking horrib - Really disappointed what we paid for definitely was worth what we got. No wifi, no reception, hole in the wall that looks suspicious, no curtains for window in bathroom, see through curtains everywhere else, no amenities, parking in a back alleyway with old restaurants equipment, I was also rush to check out at 10am with no notice. Definitely not worth 600 for 2 nights
- Danny (5/5): Would not return to this facility to stay. the restaurant was great as was the food. - the location was great. Portside issued us a pass code to get into the room over our phone, however you needed an additional pass code to get into the building that was not provided. There is no front desk to go to for help. Had to go to the restaurant to find help. The owner saw our car near our room and told us to part ElseWare because he wanted the space for restaurant parking. We were on our own. could not check out because everything was locked up and no personnel available. All the pictures on the internet did not match the facility and they were no where the water!
- Kathy (10/5): Lovely, clean condo with comfy beds! - Very quiet and safe neighborhood just 1 block to wonderful Main St.
Condo was very quiet &
super clean with a comfy bed & even the sofa bed was very comfortable! Great host … very thoughtful & left snacks & drinks for us.
Had a wonderful dinner at The Portside Tavern (attached to the condos). We highly recommend Portside Tavern and will stay there again if we return to the area! Just an FYI … the stairs to the upper units are steep, but they are inside so that helps. My 83 yr old husband made it up & down- he just took his time.
- Emily (9/5): Perfect Hyannis base. - Perfect location, lots of really thoughtful touches in the room and extremely spacious. The Tavern itself was also great - very friendly staff and good food. Really minor point but the WiFi in the rooms was quite slow! Corridor up to the room could also have done with a lick of paint.
- Leah (10/5): Exceptional -
- Kate (9/5): Comfortable and would recommend - It was clean and comfortable. The facilities were great with everything we could need and more. Coffee and plentiful snacks were provided.
Staff were helpful and friendly. Location of property was great. 3 mins walk to Main Street and 15/20 mins walk to the ferries. The only negative at all was the shower was very basic but the positives far outweigh that.
- John (10/5): Exceptional - Convenient to all areas that we were going to see Nothing
- Eamonn (10/5): The accommodation was a perfect fit for my needs. - Very central location. Very clean apartment. Great facilities - fridge, microwave, stove etc. Before my arrival I asked the host to provide extra towels and bed linen as I was staying for 2.5 weeks - I was provided with more than enough. The host got in touch when I arrived and asked if I needed anything and if I needed anything during my stay to get in touch. I didn't have the need for anything and was not disturbed for my stay - it was great! I liked everything. My only regret is that I didn't use the restaurant more often - I had a couple of meals there and all were excellent, and the staff were very friendly also. However, I had other places to be on this trip - on my next visit I'll definitely visit the restaurant more - such a great menu.
- Hans (10/5): Very nice facility. We will return. - Very clean! Great staff. Well appointed. N/A
- Christopher (6/5): Pleasant -
- David (10/5): Perfect - Spotlessly clean, comfortable, everything you could possibly need provided. Perfect central location
- Isaiah (8/5): I was a little apprehensive when I made the reservation but the property exceeded my expectation - Location was great. Was not aware of the breakfast My wife and I are in our 80's and found the steps difficult to navigate
- Carole (10/5): We had a wonderful time! - The location!
- Fiona (10/5): Exceptional - Great place to stay.😀 Everything
- Juan (10/5): It was amazing - It was conveniently located. N/A
- Raymond (8/5): Very good -
- Mike (9/5): Perfect for a short stay in Hyannis - Convenient location. Well thought out amenities. Clean
- Iain (10/5): Exceptional -
- Adreena (9/5): Every need was met. Very quaint. - Loved the snacks and adult beverages gratis in the room. Nice touch. The water in the shower kept going from really hot to room temp or cold.
- Peter (8/5): Great location to enjoy Hyannis - Great location for Main Street and easy walking distance to the harbour for ferries. Also easy to walk to a beach. The accommodation was well equipped and had the added touches of a welcome pack with wine which was not expected but greatly appreciated. Also there were beach towels and suntan lotion/aftersun which we didn't use due to the weather but would have been very handy if we had needed them. We were also left a torch as Hurricane/Tropical Storm Lee was expected during our stay-we didn't need it as power was not affected but again we were grateful that this had been thought of. Lovely shops and restaurants nearby. Local people were very friendly and helpful. Very close to the JFK museum which is well worth a visit. We would stay here again. Nearly forgot....also great to have a parking space and Portside Tavern itself was onsite for food and drink. Shower cubicle was a bit small but shower itself was great.
- Chris (10/5): Exceptional -
- Pfuhl (10/5): It was a great place to stay in Cape cod - Being close to town No windows to open
- Gisele (10/5): Exceptional -
- Jennifer (4/5): Lovely hosts, great location. Small and dingy. - The location is great. Walking distance to Hyannis sights and activities.
It is a whole apartment with a full sized fridge and a stove; perfect for families (small ones). However, be warned this is a small apartment (4 people is a crowd).
The loft/bedroom space is very nice. The hosts were amenable and very responsive. The stairs --all the floors ---were really not clean. The coffee pot had nasty old coffee in it. This is little stuff that could have been overlooked if not for the fact we'd been charged a hefty "cleaning fee" late in the booking process that nearly doubled the price advertised. If the hosts are paying for a cleaning service they might want to review because the service is not, actually, cleaning.
- Anonymous (10/5): The location was great for walking around town and to the ferry’s. It was quiet and we got a good nights sleep after lon - Location was perfect for walking to the ferry’s. Can’t think of anything.
- Darlene (10/5): Exceptional -
