- Sarah (7/5): Satisfactory base whilst we worked - For me working in newton aycliffe she the husband in bishop and Darlington it was well situated within close proximity to the beautiful city of Durham for the weekend. The garden was spacious and the lawn well kept. Kitchen facilities good (although the tin opener didn’t work) I’ve never been anywhere with so many spiders! Although I guess that means less other insects! The trees were so over grown on arrival they prevented you from parking on the drive so they had to be trimmed back a little. No bowl in the sink so everything had to be washed in the dishwasher. Everything used was self explanatory but it might be helpful if there was a welcome book to explain everything..thankfully we didn’t need to try and figure out how to use the heating and worked out bin day by looking on the council website. Communications was poor with automated responses on booking.com advising you to email instead..but no reply when you emailed. The company website had a glitch (I think) which made it appear dodgy..with non English language and pictures of cars instead of houses when we were due to move in. The details for the key safe not given so we didn’t have access to the house until after we were supposed to…after we had to call booking.com to get it for us
