• MARTIN (8/5): Bel hotel pour debuter ses vacances - Hôtel confortable et assez éloigné de San José pour ne pas entendre le bruit de la ville. Piscine et restaurant agréable. Parfait pour une première nuit avant un séjour au Costa Rica. Parking surveillé en face de l'hôtel. Les chambres sont très grandes. Les lieux communs et couloirs sont bruyants, l'hôtel accueille du monde à toute heure de San José, on entend des groupes faire du bruit et arriver à 3h du matin.

• Fernweh2 (7/5): Gutes Hotel mit ein Einschränkungen - Das Restaurant liegt direkt an dem sehr schönen Pool sodass man eine schönen View hatte. Wir hatten ein Zimmer in der untersten Etage. Diese liegen direkt an der Straße und man hört jedes Fahrzeug was an dieser Straße vorbei fährt. Es lag Ohropax bereit. Das Zimmer war für zwei Personen plus Koffer etwas zu klein.

• Yasmina (6/5): Okay for a night - It’s okay for a night in San José. Clean room and breakfast is okay. Very noisy rooms. Seems to be the base for many groups/tours and can get very nosy in the middle of the night when they leave/arrive. Far from the city center to go by foot, with Uber is fine.

• Nicolas (6/5): Cumple sólo para una noche de paso por San José - El staff nos trató cálidamente. Lo único destacable del hotel. Si bien no fue caro, el resto sólo cumple y no mucho más. La habitación pequeña, la puerta del baño pegada a la cama, la iluminación resultó bastante oscura y las canillas de la ducha medio rotas... Nos dieron la habitación en planta baja y fue extremadamente ruidosa ya que se escuchaban todos los ruidos de la calle. Sólo lo tendría como opción para una noche de paso en San José.

Although our room was somewhat noisy, we truly apprecia - Rooms are very comfortable, but there is a horrible noise coming from the street during the night. It was difficult to sleep in the rooms that are facing the street. Noise coming from the street. The hotel management should install soundproof as it's a pity that beautiful rooms are spoiled by the outside noise.

• Emily (8/5): My take away was the nice gentleman in the restaurant for his extra kindness to help me. - Our first two nights in Costa Rica were spent in San José at Hotel Auténtico, and it was a solid, comfortable start to our trip. The hotel has a nice pool area with lounge beds, which looked inviting, though we didn’t end up using it as we were adjusting after a long travel day. The room itself was simple but pleasant, with comfortable beds and a small, functional bathroom—nothing fancy, but everything we needed. Breakfast was included and buffet-style, with a good variety to get the day started. What really stood out was the kindness of the staff—one gentleman even held my breakfast for me while I went to get the car, which was such a thoughtful touch. The location is convenient—just a short drive from the airport and not far from the city center, making it an easy base for arrival. Overall, it’s not a luxury stay, but it absolutely served its purpose. A dependable, comfortable place to land and recharge before heading out on our Costa Rica road trip down the Pacific coast. N/A

The staff wasn't very helpful when it was about carrying luggage, informing in advance where to park instead of going in and out multiple times. Also when the room key stopped working and I had to lose 10min to go up and down again, no apology. Still wonderful hotel - just needs a bit of polishment for the pricing.

Le parking sécurisé est un vrai plus pour garer facilement sa voiture. Le petit déjeuner est excellent et varié Une odeur de chlore dans la chambre à en faire tourner la tête, la chambre étant au dessus de la piscine.

Room clean and comfortable, though the room layout was a bit awkward (with toilet facing room door, and bath room door - frosted glass - catching on tile floor, not possible to close, and a LONG walk around interior portion wall from bed / clothes closet to shower and toilet) - the wifi signal was lost on the side of the room away from the door / hallway and not possible to on-line work from locations in the sitting room

Sehr kleines Bad, alles deutlich in die Jahre gekommen. Das Buffet Frühstück war okay, mehr nicht.

Contact via booking messages the content seem to get ignored since it is responded to, only with an automatic response that there is free parking, even though we had a different question. This happened twice. Rooms facing the street can be noisy.

The buffet breakfast was outstanding, with a great variety of fresh and delicious options. The staff were friendly, welcoming, and always ready to help with anything we needed. We also really appreciated that we were able to leave our luggage at the hotel after check-out, which made our departure much more convenient. We would definitely recommend this hotel and would gladly stay here again!
