The amentities in the room were at a high standard for a motel with a good kitchen and clean modern bathroom. The beds were comfortable and there was plenty of space to move about the room

• Glenn (3/5): Poor value for money - Position , outlook A great disappointment to arrive at Edgewater Motel in Te Anu to find our Superior Lakefront unit for which we paid NZ $513.00 per night was up two flights of old outside concrete stairs with rusted metal railings. Our unit was spacious but very dated , dirty carpet , furnishings dated and no air conditioning. The shower was over the bath with no slip mat for safety and the towel rail old and rusting. Kitchen facilities and crockery were adequate. Deck outdoor seating was old and weathered with all paint or varnish worn off and no table as pictured in advertising. The bed was clean , comfortable and cosy . The wardrobe old and inadequate. The garden around our unit was dead or dying with leaves and dirt accumulating around the edges, in corners and under the stairs . The outdoor carpet along deck growing weeds. Online photos of the motel and our unit very deceiving.

• Stephen (4/5): A very tired property in a convenient location. - Proximity to the lake and town centre. The bed was comfortable. The bedding was nice and clean. The bathroom was substandard and would not have even been acceptable in a hostel. Storage was extremely limited if we had been a group of 4 and used both bedrooms. No contact with management or front desk.

We checked in late, but check in was seamless. The beds were comfy, lovely electric blankets and we fell asleep so easy, ready for the drive to Milford Sounds. We had no negatives, the room and facilities were exactly what we needed.

• Marmot (9/5): - 外見は古かったですが、中はリノベーションされてとてもきれいで快適でした。スタッフ不足で非接触のチェックインでしたが、何かあれば連絡する番号がかいてあり、とくに問題はありませんでした。街中でレストランにも歩いていけるしテアナウ湖に近く、立地も申し分ないです。キッチン設備も充実していました。駐車場は部屋前の私道のようなところに縦列で停める感じで空いていれば部屋の近くに停められました。

Low quality set up in kitchenette. Broken coffee press. Loose handle on fry pan. Mismatched crockery and cutlery, more suited to budget accomodation. For less than $100 you could make it right. BBQ in disrepair, dirty with no gas bottle.

• Ian (10/5): Modern, very comfortable rooms with luxurious amenities. Recommend. - Location was very close to the lake. The facilities were immaculately clean, and modern. After long days of hiking, was great to come home to a comfortable bathroom and bed; the owners have made it luxurious with towel warmers, heater in the bathroom, and heated beds (can control each side of bed with different remotes). The manager was very communicative; due to staff shortages, no one in the office but had given detailed instructions during check-in and did not have any problems. Slightly longer walk, about 10min, to get to Main Street of Te Anau. In some ways, this was actually nice as less noise.

• Hayley (8/5): Very good - Great little renovated unit. Everything was simple and modern which was nice. Location close to the lakefront and shops. Beds were really comfy. Shower had good pressure. Overall we had a good stay and were happy with the room for the price. Unfortunately when we arrived the unit had all the windows open and the heatpump hadn't been turned on even though it was 4 degrees outside. We had emailed ahead that we would be arriving late at night and had an infant on our booking. The self check in was all good but it was disappointing to arrive to a freezing cold room. More of a minor thing - In our unit there was 2 single beds in the living room - it would have been nice to have the trundler one packed away seen as it wasnt required for our party and we needed space for a portacot. Had there been staff on site we would have asked but we didnt want to bother someone to come all the way down just for one thing so we just made do with very limited space.

Our envelope was cellotaped to the reception door with our name on it with instructions. Obviously short staffed.
