• Courtney (9/5): Great hotel for a short stay in Nagano! - The location was about a 9 minute walk from Nagano Station. Staff was kind and the facility was clean. Perfect for a family of 4 to stay in a single room (Japanese-style beds). I wish the beds would have been made instead of folded up on the floors. We had already stayed in another Japanese-style hotel on our trip, so we knew how to set them up quickly, but it would have been nice if they were already laid out and made up.

• Ming Hsiang (10/5): Excellent hotel in Nagano City - Excellent service, clean rooms, good Japanese breakfast. Staff do not speak much English but go all out of their way to accommodate (often with help of AI translators on our phones 😄) but they are enthusiastic in ensuring our stay is excellent. We stay in the tatami rooms, which were very clean, meticulously laid out and really comfortable. The location is a 10 mins walk from the Nagano station but it's not a deal breaker with a huge 7-11 kombini and a Sukiya just 1 min away.

• Miko (9/5): Great for a 3 night stay! - The staff were really welcoming and helpful with our stay. Room was a great size for 2 people with 3 suitcases and really nice facilities. Bath is probably a little smaller, 6ft2 difficult to fit. 5ft9 was able to comfortably. Its a slightly older hotel and aimed more towards businessman there for conferences but as travellers we found it quite nice Slightly further from the station than originally expected, but still very easy to get to. 10 min walk to Nagano station. Roller luggage on the brick pathways was a bit of a nuisance - but that's my lesson learnt to get a travellers backpack.

• Vivien (5/5): We spent a night in another town because it was not comfortable for us. - Room was large. Good to see the zen garden below the room. I made the mistake of booking (??) a Japanese room. The beds were not comfortable for me. This may not apply if you are used to Japanese beds.

• Benjamin (7/5): Comfy and traditional - Friendly staff, room good size and comfy. Noodle place and 7-11 round corner .2mins from main station in taxi. More Japanese than other places we stayed. Staff do speak good English.. solid base or on stay. Bit dated stylewise but we kinda liked that. Limited 'western' breakfast options. Good 😊 r bas depending on your pov.

• Tessa (10/5): Very kind staff that make the stay comfortable - The staff was so welcoming. We felt very comfortable right away. The room was so comfortable and clean. I had a wonderful soak in the deep tub and they provided some nice bath salts as well. The breakfast was really great. Had a nice espresso and a great assortment of choices. Thank you to the kind staff that made me and my children feel so welcomed. The extra futons and pillows didn’t have sheets and covers in the closet.

• Rodney (7/5): A faded gem in an ordinary location. - The hotel presents quite well and the staff were efficient, but after discovering the restaurant was seldom open and with the location somewhat remote from the train station area we were disappointed to have to drive everywhere. The reception area was very attractive, but not being able to get breakfast etc was a disappointment. Could be more guest friendly.
• Dickson (10/5): Our best hotel experience on our first trip to Japan! - We loved how cosy the room was and the amenities especially the pyjamas. What we loved most was how friendly and warm the staff was, especially Ms Kato and the older gentleman who checked us in and who was so attentive to all our needs during our stay. We will definitely come back. The breakfast buffet was traditional Japanese which may be a little difficult for those not so used to it. Maybe some simple western fare like fried or scrambled eggs etc in addition to the traditional Japanese food would be better, especially for those travelling with young people.
• Paul (9/5): Impromptu stopover when we couldn't get to the snowfields. Comfortable for a family of four. - Family of four loved the traditional style accommodation and felt it was a bit more authentic than other hotels. Japanese style breakfast was great and only a short walk to center of town.

The pyjamas were very comfortable and the rooms were well insulated despite the cold. The hotel is in a more Industrial part of town but is a quick 10 Min walk from nagano station.
