Guest Reviews
- Sally (9/5): Wonderful place - Wonderful place! The location was serene, with gorgeous views out of the windows. Nice and warm, and we were even able to get a fire going. The beds were comfy with super cosy duvets. Lovely big dining table. Fully stocked kitchen (although note the cutlery drawer is hidden inside another drawer!) Bins weren't easy to find outside.

- Eloisa (9/5): Spacious country cottage with everything you'd likely need - House came with towels and shower products which were super helpful as allowed us to pack a little lighter. Was also impressed with the kitchen (available equipment). Views from the cottage were beautiful, and we were even lucky enough to catch the northern lights on one of the nights! The group could feel a little separated at times due to the layout of the cottage, but there was plenty of space and it delivered everything we needed
- louise (9/5): Beautiful setting, clean, well equipped cottage. Very comfortable stay. - The kitchen was well equipped. Location quiet and peaceful surroundings, lovely walks. Very clean Beds could have been more comfortable. Upstairs a bit soft, downstairs hard. Top bedroom window kept blowing open in the strong winds
- Michael (9/5): Excellent stay - We enjoyed the quiet and peaceful surroundings. The cottage is well equipped, with a cosy fireplace for cold evenings. The location is convenient for visiting the local Speyside attractions. Low ceiling on the first floor and the bathroom. Low water pressure in the shower downstairs, but a nice hot bath upstairs.
- Saunders (9/5): Cozy, clean and convenient. Beautifully decorated with everything you need. -
- Kathleen (9/5): Superb -
- Graham (9/5): Superb - The cottage setting, very cozy and spacious. Well priced, value for money No freezer. No outside light at front,
- Amy (9/5): Lovely stay, helpful hosts 😊 - Lovely peaceful location but close to Fochabers amenities and other Moray towns. House was nice as photos and hosts happy to help with quick responses to any queries. Only minor thing was no freezer drawer only a fridge so fine for a long weekend but would have been a handy option when travelling with younger children.
Farm track was tricky in snow depending on time of year travelling and how well your car does in that weather, not that hosts can control the weather though!
- Jolanta (10/5): peace and quiet - A wonderful country house away from the hustle and bustle, only peace and quiet - I highly recommend it Everything was perfect
- Katie (10/5): Such an idyllic setting! We absolutely loved our stay thank you! - Very clean and comfortable It was perfect
- Mark (9/5): A cozy comfortable cottage, in an ideal location for us, who like to walk and explore.Good bus service from Fochabers to - Ideal for a couple, plenty of space No freezer
- Erzsébet (8/5): lovely house in the countryside - Amazing view from the windows.
Very calm and quiet place in the middle of nowhere but very close to ...everything! The location is perfect for visiting the Speyside area.
The river is close and it is very refreshing to walk there in the morning and have some fresh air.
In general, the house is spacious and comfortable, except for the upper bathroom. The kitchen is well-equipped Low ceiling on the first floor and the bathroom. There is no water pressure, the hot water is not enough for 3 people to take a shower (washing mid-long hair needs some creativity because of the lack of hot water and water pressure : ), the mirror is at belly level and the ceiling is very low and not too comfortable for tall people like us. It is very hard to keep the place clean as there is nothing to clean your shoes before you enter the door.
There is no hairdryer :(
Despite these inconveniences, the place has a charm and we had a really good time there, so I would happily choose this place again for a few days :)
- Ben (8/5): Very good - Perfect base for whatever adventures you have planned Shower is not the best for tall people, but it's a minor issue
- Shaun (1/5): Not worth the price! - Location is nice
Kitchen is modern & clean.
Availability of internet in the middle of nowhere. The exterior of the property and surrounding areas have no lighting and are pitch black.
Not possible for a person 5"8 tall to have a shower standing upright as the ceiling is too low above the tub.
Electric heating is insufficient to keep the ground floor warm.
Ground floor has a moist smell.
- Anthony (4/5): Adequate - It served the purpose of providing accommodation in the area I needed, but I doubt if I would use it again. If you prefer showers to baths this property is likely to disappoint. The ceiling in the shower is so low that anyone of average hight cannot stand upright and tall people are in severe discomfort.
The front door opens directly onto a grass/dirt area which means you are treading a mess into the cottage (especially after they cut the grass and leave all the cuttings down.
Nowhere to sit outside on a pleasant evening.
The proximity of the main house is not conducive to a get away from it atmosphere.
- Pippa (7/5): It was lovely, great walks and great to get to the beaches. - Great location.
Easy to get into the property. Great for a family of 4 with children. Our dogs loved it! The entrance, uneven and a bit muddy, no outdoor furniture to sit in the sunshine, limited cutlery, the shower is low, but does have power! No freezer.
- Sylvia (8/5): All in all a very enjoyable stay with beautiful scenery all around - We liked the space and the beds were very comfy The shower over the bath was a bit small difficult to move in I’m only 5ft 4” and my head was touching the roof but the choice of two baths made up for that
- Foster (7/5): Enjoyable stay but cottage needs a little TLC but would go there again - Location was perfect very quiet, beautiful views excellent kitchen and loads of kitchen utensils comfortable beds carpets and sofa were stained , and could do with gravel to the slabs by front door to save carrying grass and mud in, could do with a bath mat for when having shower to stop slipping in bath and a blind to downstairs bathroom
- Zac (7/5): Comfortable stay for two fisherman. - Two bathrooms and two bedrooms
- David (9/5): Superb - Nice and cosy Cottage. Nice walks along the river with plenty of whisky tours nearby. Can't wait for a visit in the summer
- Lesley77 (10/5): Fantastic stay in a tranquil and comfy cottage. - Beautifully appointed cottage in a very peaceful location.
Spacious rooms, very comfortable and well maintained.
A great spot for travelling into surrounding areas and coming back to some tranquillity and a good hot bath! It was all superb
- Alex (8/5): brilliant - the peacefulness of the location no footpath to the entrance which causes issues with bad weather
