Esther (3/5): Teleurstellend - Groot bed en comfortabel Nog nooit zo niet welkom gevoeld. Incheck vanaf 15 uur, kwamen om 14.30 uur bij de accommodatie aan. Dame achter de receptie tikte op het bordje dat incheck vanaf 15 uur was, mochten ook niet bij het zwembad wachten tot 15 uur. De foto’s zijn veel mooier dan het in werkelijkheid is. De kamer is smoezelig.

Mirjam (2/5): Werkelijk vreselijk. - De airco Geen warm water, geen gas, wc kapot, niet schoon, nergens personeel te vinden, dat overigens wel vriendelijk was, maar ook niets op kon lossen.
Ivan (9/5): Great place to stay when you have alot of family members travelling with you. - Rooms were spacious, location was convinient, the building was secure and there was parking infront for all members. There could have been some morning coffee or extra towels. However there is a OXXO nearby.
Steffi (3/5): Ik zou dit hotel niet meer boeken… - Op zich lag het hotel niet ver van het centrum, dus je kon te voet gaan. Maar het lag ook langs een drukke autosnelweg en die kon je heel goed horen. Het zwembad was wel aangenaam en in orde. De kamer rook heel muf en was vochtig. Je kon geen enkel raam openzetten, want er was geen vliegenhor. We sliepen eerst in een kamer waar de douche niet werkte. Na veel moeite van een personeelslid werd het probleem niet opgelost, maar kregen we een nieuwe kamer. De foto’s tonen veel mooier dan het in het echt is.
Erika (1/5): Not worth it. - The location was ok, the best thing about it was the taqueria nearby. It’s about 10 mins from Cenote Azul. The 2 bdrm apt we stayed at had a funky smell. The walls had spiderwebs, the floor in bad shape. Worst of all the couches were stained and I didn’t even dare sit on them. The pictures show modern touches but it’s just for show. One of the toilets was clogged and the faucet was broken. They only have sheets on the beds so if it’s a cold night, it’ll be uncomfortable. They did provide extra sheets upon request but still wasn’t good enough for all the negative stuff. I voiced all my concerns, they said they would try to move us but they didn’t. Bacalar was great but our experience here, no.

Maria (3/5): Terrible. No volveria - La verdad nada. HOTEL FOTO TRAMPA TOTAL Cero hecho con amor, todo esta muy deteriorado y hecho a "los golpes". Horrible. Las persianas tienen moho. Las sabanas estan TODAS manchadas. Demasiado lejos del centro. Caminas hasta el centro en 15min, si, pero entre calles no hay mucha vida, hay infinitos perros que despues me enteré que han mordido a personas (ibamos caminando con mi perrita y por eso salían todos), no hay casi restaurantes. Todos estan en las calles vecinas a la plaza principal. Tienes que tener carro si te vas a hospedar aqui. NUNCA habia nadie en recepción. A veces necesitabas una sabana, o almohada o lo que sea, y no había ni una persona por ahi. Sobretodo en las noches. Pasaron 3 dias y no habian cambiado toallas, ni sabanas. Estuvimos a punto de quedarnos sin papel higienico. Un dia vimos a una que cambiaba las cosas y ella se ofreció a cambiarlo y le rogamos que si y que necesitabamos varias cosas. La gente en Bacalar no quiere trabajar.

Klara Sofie (3/5): - Personalet var rigtig flinke og hjælpsomme Værelset lugtede jordslået og fugten i værelset var meget høj. Alt vores tøj blev fugtigt og vi måttet tørre det ved næste hotel. Værelset var bygget i beton og der var mange pletter på det. Gulvet var ikke rent.

Tomas (5/5): OK-ish if you just need to sleep. - I could sleep. It wasn't clean. Dirty kitchen tools. Toilet wasn't flushing as expected. Shower head was spraying water everywhere expect on your body. With my fingers I had to clean lime from the shower head to improve things. There were surprises under the trash bag of the toilet trash bin.
Aleksandra (9/5): I enjoyed the hotel and the amentities, it is a nice calm area, the room was comfortable and beautiful and the pool as w - I loved the vibe of the hotel with the pool and the calm area . The communication could’ve been a little better because when I arrived there was nobody at the reception to check me in, but it was sorted it out . It was just stressful at first.

Anna (9/5): - Tuvimos una estància muy còmoda. Apartamento muy amplio. La piscina y el personal Para poner algo diria que en la cocina faltaban utensilios però los solicitamos en la recepcion y los lproporcionaron rapidamente.
Maxime (4/5): Décevant - Nous avons appréciés la localisation de l'hôtel. Voici les points que nous n'avons pas apprécié : - La chambre paraît beaucoup mieux en photo. L'appartement est dégradé à certains endroits (rouille sur la robinetterie) et très pauvre en décoration (béton partout). On se croirait dans une cellule de prison... - La "cuisine" est très simpliste et dispose de très peu d'équipements (pas de passoire, couteaux, une cuillère pour deux). Selon nous, elle n'est pas fonctionnelle. - Rideaux non isolants et pas de volets aux fenêtres. De plus, un membre du personnel c'est permis de nous regarder fixement par la fenêtre.
Nir (3/5): It was okay for one night, but would take another place if longer stay - The staff answered quickly to requests of switching rooms, good location, good parking, location quite close via driving to everywhere. Extreme mold and smell of it in the whole room, asked to switch rooms and in new room it was only around the bathroom. Property cat kept getting into room. Bad smell from closet, bad smell from kitchen utensils.
Scott (7/5): - A simple place, clean and decent location if you do not need a view of the lake. We do not look for high end places, we prefer to stay at nice clean inexpensive properties. I would say this one was pretty much perfect.
jannyfromtheb (7/5): Prima hotel - De buitenkant van het hotel is mooi en de hotelkamer is ruim. De aankleding van de hotelkamer is nogal nihil, waardoor het heel gehorig is en je last hebt van je buren. Verder is het lopen naar de stad nog wel een stukje.

Jose Reyes (1/5): Mala atención en recepción - El área de la alberca únicamente La recepcionista con su cara de flojera, nunca un buenos días buenas tardes ni nada muy tosca para estar en esa área, estaba más enfocada a vender tours que en nuestras necesidades, como no le compramos su tour no nos volvió a dirigir la palabra, las sabanas sucias con manchas el fregadero tenía moho, el baño olía muy mal también el refrigerador, 1 papel de baño para 3 días y 2 noches terrible, las sritas mucamanas y el velador muy amables Pero la de recepción no trata bien a la gente
Lolita (1/5): Super sucio - Hotel extremadamente mal ubicado, no hay nada alrededor. Limpieza inexistente: manchas de sangre en las sábanas, moho por todas partes, baño asqueroso, una cucaracha muerta en el refrigerador y tres vivas en la habitación. Mi hijo de 3 años ni siquiera podía caminar por el suelo. ¡Un verdadero infierno! Nos fuimos después de la primera noche y se negaron a reembolsarnos. Huyan absolutamente de este lugar.

Broersma (3/5): Verschrikkelijk - Zwembad en de airco waren prima. Ook de dame aan de balie was vriendelijk. Het bed was groot. Erg slecht onderhouden, vies/slechte (badkamer) vloer, vieze kranen, vies/slecht afgewerkte kamer, stinkende koelkast, vies servies.

The room was spacious and the bed was very comfortable. Also only 15 minutes walking to either downtown/the lagoon or to the ADO bus The location was good but I think I would have preferred to be a little closer to the town.

Sofia (8/5): Very good - The room was spacious and well-equipped. The kitchen was very useful. I think it was a bit expensive for what you get in return. You had to tell someone when you wanted to take a shower so they could turn the hot water on.
Helen (9/5): Superb - Not sure why there are bad reviews. The staff were great, the apartment was spacious and kitchen had all the equipment needed. Everything is within a 15 minute walk. The sofa bed needed a bit more of a thorough clean but otherwise the stay was great.

Neza (2/5): Very poor - The receptionist was very kind. The room had extremly strong mouldy smell. As such it was a health risk for my daughter who is allergic to moulds. We asked for cancellation of our second day but the owner refused. I made a complaint but haven't received an answer. Next day the receptionist offered a room in the first floor which was much nicer and comfortable. The photos of the first room are false as the room is dark, the windows are on the hall (not on the garden!). Before you pay, just step in the room and check for the mouldy smell!

Jason (9/5): A comfortable retreat after a day of excursions. - I appreciated that each individual room was arranged like a studio, with easy access to a mini fridge for storage of snacks and beverages. The Family Suite with two bedrooms was amazing-- and the sofa was incredibly comfortable-- perfect for relaxing after a long day of excursions. The AC units all worked perfectly. The showers worked well with good pressure. The housekeepers are attentive and the reception desk as well, including offering water to refill our water bottles. It's just a short 40 peso ride from the town plaza and that's much better than the uphill walk! My family really enjoyed gathering in the pool to relax after dinner in town. The double bed in the smallest room is quite small and only for one person practically. Unfortunately there was a child above my room and running back and forth playing all night and the floor/ceiling was thin, so it was a bit difficult to sleep early one of the evenings because of the noise-- but the reception desk assisted in resolving this upon notifying them.

Piotr (2/5): Guys that's not fair - Staff is very nice and helpful We experienced a power outage in our room for the entire day and night, which meant no light, no internet, and no air conditioning, making it impossible to sleep. While we understand that this situation was beyond the control of the establishment. However, the low rating is given because of this: We lost the key to our room. The gentleman at the check-out counter requested 100 pesos for the replacement key (which is ok). When I raised the point that perhaps, considering the inconvenience of the power outage, they might waive the fee as a gesture of courtesy, he called the manager/owner. Unfortunately, the owner/manager insisted that we pay the replacement fee regardless. I want to emphasize that the staff was very polite and helpful, so we do not fault them for this issue

Wanda (5/5): Our stay was ok. The raw concrete floors were unappealing and felt dirty under my feet. I wouldn’t return again. - Location of the property was ideal for our needs. I didn’t like that the apartment was unfinished. The raw concrete as opposed to tiled flooring was disappointing.
Sfia (10/5): Perfect stay in Bacalar - Good location, beautiful hotel with nice design in the rooms ( simple and clean ). They clean the room when you ask for it and provide new towels. Location is good near good restaurants. We loved Bacalar it was our favorite place of whole mexico. Not too much tourists, authentic, beautiful paradis lake and nice prices in restaurants because in tulum or isla holbox its something else. This hotel had the best beds out of all the hotels we have been. We have two girls and the played a lot in the nice pool. We absolutely loved the place and the price is also very good when you consider what you get. Maybe only add a blowdryer. Thank you mayanah wish we could have stayed longer. Nothing

Sybil (8/5): Will come stay again. - Close to every. Lots of space, for a family. The kitchen could use a few more supplies like a pot, and more utensils.
Sybil (10/5): Wonderful few days, would like to come back and stay a week! - The staff were great. The location was just off the highway. The room was so nice and spacious. Bring ear plugs because the trucks on the highway are noisy.

Rebecca (5/5): Average Hotel Room Stay. Nothing to write home about and not the best location in Bacalar. - Location is close to the main road. Everything here was average. Nothing special about the room/bed/shower/service/location etc. Just an average room. Bed was hard. We were only there for 1 night though so we didn't really mind. I wouldn't suggest this if you're going there for vacation though. Service was average. Pillows were old and I had to ask for new ones. Bed was hard, even though it was a king, which is a nice size, but not so comfy. Average. Typical hotel room.
Danielle (8/5): Very good - Great facilities and staff are super accommodating/helpful Room smelt a bit damp and it’s quite far away from restaurants etc
Michelle (5/5): My stay was ruined by noisy guests with children that kept on dragging the furnitures in the middle of the night. Place - Near to ADO bus and very friendly reception staff. Damp smell in the room,it lingered on all my clothes after I left the property. Sparse furnishings including the structure. No hangers. Only good to sleep here for a night or two.
Christian (4/5): Not value for money - None - too close to the main street, you can hear the traffic - cleaning so and so (there was a chewing gum on the floor and spots on the surface of the bathroom)
Ewout (1/5): Terrible experience in so many ways - Tropical garden I travelled the world but this is my worst experience ever with two young kids. Not clean, low maintenance, sunbeds are broken and no pillows. They put you in a dirty room that you didn’t book and say its the same while that room js not even on their own website. Not willing to solve issues; they said if we wanted to leave we needed to leave immediately but they didn’t approve a re-fund. I would say overal really really bad management.

Mijke (10/5): Comfortable stay at beautiful hotel - The hotel is very new and nicely decorated. We got a great room, which was very comfortable. The hotel is at a perfect spot to visit all the places by car. I recommend this hotel!
Alessandro (2/5): Was supposed to be for 5 people, but the bed were tiny and the sofa really dirty. In the end 2 prople had to look for an - Parking, air conditioning Cleaning, cold water
Jason (5/5): If your looking for a nice place to take the family look closer to the lake. - The property was just ok. Under the sink smelled very bad. Very basic room with not much to offer in the area. Have to walk 15 min to get to lake Not much
Eduardo (5/5): Neutral - Friendly staff, clean, nice location We arrived the first day at 430 pm. We noticed that night that the ac unit in the living room where the pull out sofa was located and where my son slept was not working. We notified the staff the second day of our stay in the am but they must not have been able to find someone to fix it. We again mentioned it in the morning of our last day and this time someone came and fixed it. We did not mind the cables and all but my son was not able o sleep the first two nights. I realize things happen but O would like to respectfully request a full refund for my stay. Thank you

Liam (1/5): The most Frustrating and infuriating treatment I have ever experienced. - The rooms are fantastic The management is a joke. Booked a two night stay in three apartments only two available. AC leaking all over the bed as we slept. Management then told us we needed to move after the first night and tried put us in a substandard apartment which required repair when we refused to move the management cut the power to the apartment cancelled our booking and called the police. This ruined our short stay and we had to cancel a boat tour of the lagoon to sort this mess out. This left a family group of 10 stranded with no where to stay. Be very careful about booking here have a back up plan. Mistakes and incompetence from start to finish leading to armed police turning up to add to the distress.
