sandrine (10/5): Un très bel amplacement pour visiter le château et le bazar. - Très bon accueil et une belle chambre et un très bon petit déjeuner face aux montagnes. Difficulté pour accéder mais le patron vous gare la voiture donc ne pas hésiter à lui demander avant de monter.
peter (8/5): Prima locatie, voor een prima prijs. Zeer ruime kamers en een zeer vriendelijk personeel. - De locatie was echt geweldig, met uitzicht op het kasteel. Marsel was echt geweldig, hij heeft alles gedaan wat hij kon doen. Na een wat mindere ervaring met de eerste kamer werd er direct doorgeschakeld naar een ander kamer, eigenlijk een dubbele kamer, echt super. Ontbijt was prima. Er waren een paar verbeterpunten die ik persoonlijk heb door gegeven aan Marsel. Met een aantal aanpassingen is dit echt een prima locatie voor een perfecte prijs.

Cees (8/5): Wat een geweldige locatie maar de inrichting kan beter. - Prachtige locatie. Echt heel mooi uitzicht. Inrichting kamer erg sober. Kamer is heel ruim. Geen koelkast. Geen stoel.
Yohan (9/5): Vue imprenable sur la montagne et le château - La vue depuis l’hébergement sur les montagnes et le château. Le petit déjeuner était très bon. Le personnel très sympathique. Proche du centre historique. Prendre en compte que l’hébergement est situé sur les hauteurs, en haut d’une grande pente. Le stationnement est difficile mais a le mérite d’exister. Malgré le confort et la propreté de la chambre, il s’agissait d’une chambre située hors du bâtiment principal en pierre, et devions passer par la cuisine pour nous y rendre.

Natcan (10/5): Calm and friendly atmosphere - Great location, situated just outside the main town centre of Gjirokaster but only a 10 minute walk to the town center and all the sites. Nice and calm in the evenings no noise from restaurants or bars. The staff are all super friendly and the rooms are comfortable and spacious. Marsel has loads of local knowledge and is a great source of recommendations. Maybe just add a better curtain or blind on the window but other than that nothing 😁
Anand (7/5): Rustic stay in a beautiful old guesthouse - Staff were incredibly hospitable and made us feel like family - special thanks to Marsel and his mother and aunts for treating us so well. The view from the terrace is also beautiful The triple room had hardly any natural light so was very dark. It also would have been nice to have some basic additions such as a kettle in the room to make a hot drink. A shower curtain or screen could be installed in the bathroom.
Slim (10/5): Memorable, unique albanian experience. - The staff, the breakfast and the amazing view from the terasse. Parking is quite challenging, but that overall in Gyrokaster.
Babyx (10/5): Relax in ambiente accogliente - Siamo stati accolti da Marsel che ci ha aiutato a parcheggiare l'auto sulla strada principale del borgo, piuttosto ripida e con ciottoli scivolosi vista la pioggia della giornata. Ci ha condotto alla nostra stanza, inserita in un contesto antico e ristrutturato con amore. L'ambiente familiare ci ha fatto subito sentire a casa nostra. La vista meravigliosa verso il colle del castello e verso la vallata è sicuramente rilassante. La colazione ci ha stupito: tutto preparato in casa dalla famiglia e ottima di gusto e qualità. Il centro di Argirocastro si raggiunge con una passeggiata di circa 10 minuti. Marsel è stato molto disponibile a suggerirci qualche locale dove bere un aperitivo e mangiare per la serata. Quando siamo tornati in camera, dopo cena, ci siamo accorti che il letto era fornito di lenzuolo sotto, ma non del lenzuolo sopra e abbiamo dovuto disturbare lo staff in tarda serata, per farcelo portare. Non so se sia stata una mancanza oppure se si usi dormire con solo la coperta a diretto contatto con la persona. Comunque abbiamo avuto prontamente esaudita la nostra richiesta. Il bagno non ha la tenda della doccia, quindi si bagna tutto intorno.

Ian (10/5): Brilliant stay and I would highly recommend for the staff, views and breakfast. - Good location close to the castle and a short walk down to town. Comfortable rooms too. The best parts about the stay were the staff being excellent. Very friendly and shared lots of useful local information. Then the terrace is a great location to sit especially when you get a home made breakfast to enjoy on it. Perfect views too.

Marlies (10/5): - Wij hadden een heerlijk verblijf bij Marsel. Hij is heel gastvrij en gaf ons veel tips. De ligging is perfect. Op 10 minuten sta je in het centrum. Het ontbijt op het terras gaf een instant vakantiegevoel en de kat baguette vonden de kinderen heel leuk. Beetje een uitdaging om te parkeren 😉

Minor adjustments in the bathroom could be done. Giving a little heads up on the parking situation could be good as well.
Marco (8/5): Fijne ligging en vriendelijke mensen - Super vriendelijke man met moeder, zeer behulpzaam. Ontbijt traditioneel, lekker. Grote kamer. Fijne ligging kort bij kasteel en Pasha Bridge en oude bazaar kun je door een tunnel heen lopen. Overstroming op badkamer, deur die gigantisch klemt. Veel trappen op met koffers om van parkeerplaats naar kamer te komen.

Homemade breakfast was fantastic and the view from our room and the terrace truły beautiful. Girokaster is an absolute must visit.
Mirjam (7/5): Gastgeber top - Zimmer entsprach nicht Erwartungen - Die Gastgeber waren sehr zuvorkommend, hilfsbereit und haben sich mit dem Frühstück viel Mühe gegeben. Sie haben noch extra etwas für die Kinder organisiert. Die Lage ist gut,man ist schnell in der Altstadt und bei der Burg. Auf der Terrasse hat man einen schönen Ausblick beim Frühstück. Im Badezimmer riecht es zeitweise sehr unangenehm. Ausserdem hat es keine Abtrennung zur Dusche und nichts, wo man seine Sachen darauf hätte abstellen können. Das Kinderzimmer hatte kein Fenster. Die Ausstattung der Zimmer ist minimal, wünschenswert wäre zbsp. eine Nachttischlampe, damit man nicht immer das Deckenlicht anmachen muss. Im Sommer sicher angenehm,da es sehr kühl ist. Jetzt um diese Jahreszeit war es etwas frisch. Die Auffahrt ist nicht ganz einfach.

La chambre n a pas été faite le lendemain,les serviettes étant humides de la veille. Pas de chauffage,pas de couvertures d appoint.je pense que cela doit être bien l été mais pas en avril ou les nuits sont fraiches.le lit pas top.
Sak (10/5): Guri was wonderful - The view from our room and breakfast was impeccable. The couple that run Guri are so warm and helpful. They gave us very helpful recommendations of things to do in Gjirokastër. I especially loved how close but secluded Guri Guesthouse is to the Bazaar and town, which have a magical charm to them. Definitely stay here if you're staying in Gjirokastër! Highly recommend. -

Annette (8/5): Für eine Nacht okay. - Sehr freundliche Frauen, die das Frühstück zubereitet haben. Die Matratze war etwas durchgelegen, es gab kein warmes Wasser, die Dusche war direkt über der Toilette, ohne Abtrennung, Geruch im Bad unangenehm.
Shawn (9/5): Marcel was a warm inviting host as was the home and stunning views. - The view from the home is amazing. The mountains had just received fresh snow when we arrived. The home made breakfast with jams and pita was really good as was the mountain tea. Since the room is newly remodelled I’m sure they will add more shelves and hooks which will help fororanzing clothes, etc.

SEVDE (10/5): Güvenilir ve konforlu - Odalar fotoğrafta gözüktüğü gibiydi. Hatta tesis müsait olduğu için 1 oda tipini yükselttiler. Odamızın manzarası çok güzeldi, fotoğrafı ekledim. Tesis sahibi Marsel çok sıcak kanlı ve yardımsever. Kendisi tesisi kolay bulabilmemiz için geç saatte gitmemize rağmen bizi sokak girişinde karşıladı ve arabayı park etmek için yardımcı olmayı teklif etti. Check-in sonrası odalarımıza ev yapımı havuçlu kek ve su servisi yaptı. Gezilecek yerlerin ve restoranların listesini ve konumlarını gönderdi. Kahvaltı güzel ve yeterliydi. Teşekkürler. Merkeze yürüme mesafesinde olduğunu düşünmüyorum. Aralık ayında gittik. Tesis sahibi biz gitmeden klimaları açmış olmasına rağmen odalar biraz soğuktu. Tesisin yolu biraz dik ve sokaklar dar ama ben bir problem yaşamadım.

Zu Fuß ist die Altstadt/Burg in 7-10min zu erreichen Unser Bad war etwas klein und die Dusche war ohne Abtrennung zwischen Waschbecken und Klo.

Veronica (9/5): Comfortable stay, welcoming hosts and good location - Welcoming and super helpful recommendations for food, activities etc. from the host! This helped us plan our itinerary when short on time (especially recommending dinner at Taverna panorama zhuli, just around the corner). Our room was comfortable with a great view. We enjoyed the walk over the old town, which was not too far when using shortcuts. The road up to the guesthouse was quite steep (for a short section) and parking can be tight in gravelled area, however, the host helped park the car.

Sophie Pinet (10/5): Accueil chaleureux et vue magnifique - Nous avons adoré notre séjour dans ce guesthouse qui est très bien situé (à 10 minutes à pieds du centre et du château). Nous avons été très bien accueillis et le personnel était au petit soin du début à la fin du séjour. La chambre était spacieuse et typique. La vue est magnifique depuis la terrasse et offre un joli panorama sur les montagnes et le château. Le petit déjeuner est copieux et délicieux. Nous recommandons sans hésitation.
Francois (8/5): pour une nuit c'est correct .... - Personne très serviable, avec le maximum pour faire plaisir... le petit resto traditionnel juste la rue en dessous je recommande, miam-miam et pas chère... La chambre reste malgré la déco , pas fenêtre ou toute petite qui donne sur nul part sans rideau, sdb a revoir... je pense que me bonne rénovation serait la bien venu...
Daniela (8/5): - La gentilezza di Marcel e della sua famiglia. La colazione in terrazza con frittelle fatte in casa deliziose. La camera era molto spartana ma pulita. Consiglierei di levare i tappeti dalle camere perché per quanto si cerchi di pulirli comunque non lo saranno mai abbastanza.

jane (10/5): Great value, great service, great views - The staff could not have been more welcoming and helpful regarding how to best explore Gjirokaster. The delicious breakfast of freshly made petulla and other Albanian specialties was served on the terrace overlooking spectacular views of the mountains and was a great start to the day. Parking onsite was a plus, though it does require nerves and skill to negociate the steep driveway. The room was very comfortable, especially the bed and pillows. It was wonderful looking out of the bedroom window and seeing the dramatic landscape, the some chickens wandering the garden and hear the sounds of a country morning. Guri is located so conveniently for visiting the town on foot with a pathway and tunnel taking you up to the castle or down to the old town and bazaar. An additional sign or two would be very helpful when first arriving to indicate that the steep driveway is the correct entrance and that the guesthouse is a short way up the hill from there.
RENATO (10/5): Abgelegen vom Trubel - sehr sauber - Das Guesthouse liegt sehr ruhig. Wir haben abends im Guesthouse gegessen. Es wurde von der Familie zubereitet und war sehr gut und viel. Die Aussicht ist toll. Es sind etwa 10-15 Minuten zu Fuss bis ins Zentrum.

Elvira (8/5): Schöne Lage - Das Personal war sehr freundlich uund herzlich. Die Lage war gut und ruhig. Tolle Aussicht von der Terrasse, auf der das Frühstück und Abendessen eingenommen wurde. Sehr gut war, dass das Auto vom Hausherren eingepackt wurde. Sehr gut auch, der k urzer Weg in die quirlige Altstadt. Die Matratzen waren für uns sehr hart. Das Fenster war sehr klein und hoch gelegen, dadurch konnte man leider nicht wirklich rausschauen. Aus dem Abfluss im Bad kam unangenehmer Geruch, der kurzfristig leider nicht behoben werden konnte.
Louna (5/5): - Le personnel très accueillant et sympathique. La chambre était vraiment médiocre, il n’y a pas de bac à douche ce qui mouille toute la salle de bain, plusieurs grosses mouches dans la chambre. Le mobilier est ancien et abîmé. Mauvaise odeur dans la salle de bain. Manque beaucoup de choses pour 50€ la nuit ( pas de sèche cheveux, pas de lampe de chevet, pas de télé dans la chambre ….) Accès compliqué au parking ou il y a très peu de place.
Maria (7/5): Prima - Lieve mensen van dit hotel! De view was erg mooi! Zeker op het terras heb je een mooi uitzicht op de bergen. Ik had een speciaal verzoek gedaan voor een verjaardagsontbijt, dit was super lief geregeld! De bedden waren erg hard, daarnaast was de badkamer niet echt super fijn. Straal ging steeds van heel heet naar koud, water liep ook overal naar toe. De parkeergelegenheid was niet optimaal, gelukkig is het personeel wel heel behulpzaam om je auto te parkeren. Helaas echt heel erg veel wespen op het terras waardoor je niet echt rustig van je ontbijt kan genieten.
MARAVAL (9/5): Très agréable séjour dans un magnifique paysage de montagne - Très bon accueil, excellent dîner avec spécialités locales faites maison, petit déjeuner copieux. Établissement situé au sommet d'une colline (petite route difficile d'accès) avec une superbe vue sur la citadelle que l'on peut visiter à pied depuis l'hôtel, ainsi que le vieux village touristique.

Aida (10/5): Fantástico - La casa es preciosa y Marcel un anfitrión de primera. Es súper amable y siempre dispuesto a ayudar en todo (a subir las maletas, a darte información sobre los alrededores y donde cenar…). Ha sido un placer alojarnos allí y repetiríamos sin duda. Todo genial
Enrica Maria (10/5): - Il posto è molto carino, ha una vista sul castello e sulle montagne bellissima. La camera è bella e pulita, lo staff super gentile e disponibile. Colazione buona e abbondante, io sono intollerante al lattosio e sono stati bravissimi a trovare un’alternativa adatta a me. Il parcheggio risulta un po’ complicato, ma lo staff è pronto ad aiutarti e parcheggiare al posto tuo. L’unico problema sono le vespe che durante la colazione si avvicinano, anche qui lo staff ha cercato nel miglior modo di allontanarle.

Debasmita (10/5): A welcoming stay with stunning views, delicious homemade food, and exceptional hospitality. - The location of the guest house overlooking the clock tower was stunning! As new drivers in Albania, we were a bit worried about navigating Gjirokastër, but reaching the guest house was easier than expected—you don’t have to drive much on the cobbled stone streets. Parking was a little tricky, but the host kindly parked our car for us and also helped when we needed to take it out. Breakfast was homemade and absolutely delicious. We also had dinner one evening, and the food was entirely home-cooked—hearty, flavorful, and plentiful! We couldn’t even finish all the fruits at the end. Overall, we truly loved Marsel and his mother’s warm hospitality. A mirror in the room would have been nice! Otherwise, there is really nothing to complain about!

Jocelyn (10/5): Convivialité - L’accueil très chaleureux vous met tout de suite dans l’ambiance de cette magnifique ville qu’est Gjirokaster. Tout est fait pour que votre séjour se passe au mieux, du stationnement de votre véhicule (accès compliqué) à la remise des clés. La chambre et ses équipements sont excellents. Le charme du bâtiment est très agréable, la vue depuis la terrasse exceptionnelle ! Possibilité de dîner sur place le soir, un repas fait maison succulent ! Je recommande fortement ! J’ai passé un très bon séjour, merci encore aux hôtes pour leur gentillesse !

Gines (7/5): Bien si te dedicas a la ciudad y usas la habitación (la 6) lo mínimo. - El trato es bueno y amable, el desayuno muy bien. La habitación que nos dieron (la 6) está en la casa, no en el hotel: mobiliario y baño del residente original, con la cama nueva y bien. Accedes atravesando la cocina de los residentes (estaban cocinando a media tarde) y del hotel. Supongo que el resto de habitaciones responde a las fotografías.

Ubicació ideal. - L'atenció dels propietaris va ser molt bona, ens van prepara un café turc de benvinguda i es van oferir a resoldre qualsevol dubte o ajudar-nos en qualsevol moment.. L'habitació era amplia i tot estava molt net. L'esmorzar correcte. La nostra habitació tenia problemes d'humitat i l'olor era una molesta. Vam haver de dormir amb l'aacc posat.. Si solucionen aquest problema, el lloc es molt agradable.

The family who run it are very welcoming, and breakfast was delicious — with the option to enjoy it on the veranda overlooking stunning views. Just note that breakfast is served from 8am, which is useful to know if you have early plans, and remember to bring cash to pay for your stay. The only minor point is that the road up to the property inside the castle is quite steep and narrow.
Enya (9/5): Great! - Marcelo was very kind and the breakfast was delicious. He helped drive our bad rent a car up the hill. The road up to the house is paved until you reach the last turn. It then turns to slabs and a steap hill. But Marcelo was very kind and drove the car up for us.

Le personnel est d'une gentillesse remarquable, la vue depuis le balcon est à couper le souffle et le centre est accessible à une dizaine de minutes à pied. Je recommande vivement ! Lieve familie maakt je alles graag naar de zin. - De gastvriendelijkheid was enorm, vanaf het eerste moment waarbij Marcel onze auto de smalle straatjes inrijdt naar het hooggelegen guesthouse! De bedden zijn hard, dat is minder….
