Guest Reviews
- Jen (1/5): -
- Dryland (10/5): - Everything
- Denise (9/5): - View, donkeys, eggs, coziness of cottage, comfy bed, shower - great pressure. Toilet took a little while to get used to.
- Brixana (8/5): Really enjoyed my stay, the views were immaculate. Lovely host and the property had everything you could need. - The best part about the property was definitely the privacy and the fantastic views. Would definitely come and stay again. The property had everything I’d need. The only downside to the property would be the incinerator toilet. Having to smell the burning smell all round the property was not ideal. I wish this was mentioned in the description of the property.
- Andy (10/5): A perfect tranquil escape - Tranquil location, good amenities, friendly host. Nothing
- sean (9/5): - Loved the location, great views, cute cabin, had everything we needed
- Mary (10/5): - Stunning location and we loved the animals. So quiet and peaceful.
- Mitali (9/5): Nice cosy cabin with a pretty room - Very cosy cabin with a stunning view. The bed is very comfortable and hot shower. The host is very friendly and answers immediately to any questions. Loved everything! A fan would have been nice but not a big deal 🙂.
- Rebekah (10/5): This is a must stay cabin!! Beautiful views, peaceful and private location. - We love everything!! This place is a stunning location, hands down awesome!! It has a great outdoor area looking at the stunning veiw. Had an outdoor fire pit which was a super nice addition and it had everything you need for a night or two away.
The cabin itself was great and has been built beautifully, warm and secure. Donkeys were super cute and came for pats. This really is a awesome place to stay, off the grid but still have internet etc
The hosts have done a really great job.
- Darlina (10/5): - Great place, private and really clean Beautiful location
- Janine (8/5): most enjoyable little retreat. - Very private, easy to follow instructions and a sufficient kitchen and adorable donkeys. The hosts were friendly, there when needed but allowed privacy. This isn't a bad point just a desire to do the right thing. Maybe a few more instructions, such as a book, letting us know the Dos and Don'ts. As an example, can we feed the donkeys? If so, what are they allowed to eat.
- marjeat (9/5): - Peace and quiet location, beautiful view and enough facilities to make the stay comfortable. Nothing
- Janice (10/5): Very enjoyable. Loved chatting to the hosts. Lovely friendly couple. - Quiet and very private. Lovely view. Outside bathroom.
- karen (10/5): Perfect little hideaway to relax - Private and relaxed. Gorgeous location A more comfortable couch would have been amazing
- Susan (9/5): Superb - This is a lovely little cabin with a beautiful outlook and very quiet, peaceful surroundings.
- Christopher (10/5): Exceptional -
- Sean (10/5): Exceptional -
- Stephanie (9/5): Tranquil private escape - Great location so private and peaceful loved how quiet it was and the neighbouring donkeys. Would definitely stay again. A spa would have made it absolutely perfect 😊
- Jessica (10/5): Lovely - Beautiful location, absolutely loved the peace and quiet (and the donkeys!), would highly recommend.
- Janet (8/5): Very good - Lovely quiet location. Enjoyed the Donnie's. Everything you need. Complimentary honey and farm eggs a nice touch.
- Josey (8/5): A private little hide away with everything you need and stunning view. - We absolutely loved the view and ended up staring at the changes for hours. We enjoyed the simplicity in the 2 room cabin. We quickly got used to the toilet, easy and practical. I liked the big fridge, good linen and towels, great shower.
We enjoyed the privacy and that adjustable sunroof outside. A perfect little hide away that we would love to visit again. We missed to walk along the beach, but the sunsets made up for that. And Hihi is a short drive away.
We missed a hook or 2 in the bedroom just to hang up stuff, that would've made it even more practical.
Only essentials in the kitchen, but we could do everything we wanted.
The couch-bed in the living room is uncomfortable, but I think it would be good enough for a child to sleep on.
- Rosalind (8/5): Lovely little spot, secluded and amazing view. -
- Jamie (10/5): Beautiful spot - Beautiful spot, it felt like we were so secluded but easy short drive to town and beach. Having our little dog with us was a bonus! The donkeys were super friendly especially with a few apples. Amazing sunsets! Can get a bit hot in summer facing into the sunset, but we took a fan with us and it was all fine. It was so nice to have the farm eggs and honey.
- Rachelle (8/5): Very good -
- Allan (9/5): Beautiful views..donkeys were great...very private...close to so many activities and good restaurant - Breakfast was excellent...we make good Breakfast A hot tub
- Angela (10/5): Exceptional - The location was quiet. The owner was so helpful and easy to talk to, went above and beyond. The view is simply amazing
- Nicola (7/5): A nice wee rustic cabin, unfortunately for us the rough weather highlighted its inadequacies. - A quiet secluded location with great views. Free eggs and coffee machine were great. Driveway access was a bit rough, could do with a finer gravel cover on top of the rough large stones. Bathroom access is via outside veranda so in stormy weather you get wet going to the toilet and have strong drafts through the doors.
- Paul (10/5): Everything at your fingertips - Awesome views, not far from Mangonui
Private Toilet and shower being outside of house, but was nice and clean etc…
- Jacqui (8/5): Would come again as a solo or couple. It was a great getaway for a few days to explore Mangōnui and Kari Kari peninsula - Cute, peaceful, clean, beautiful setting Don’t think suitable for two friends/sisters as no room in the living part once you put the sofa bed out .
- Jjokes (9/5): The host Linley was fantastic! - Amazing Location very scenic and peaceful!
- Catherine (8/5): Lovely stay, great location - Amazing view, free range eggs, privacy, sweet Donkeys in the field behind. Clean and comfortable. Sustainable. Being in the middle of the country side BBQ was very dirty so couldn’t use it. Meant to say something at the time.
Outside umbrella was broken, it is in a very sunny afternoon position so no shade if you wanted to sit at the outside table.
- Jennifer (10/5): Exceptional - Very cozy cabin with caring owners, a beautiful night sky and everything you need.
- Alex (10/5): Couldn’t recommend this place any more just everything is perfect hosts very very friendly and property is tucked away v - Everything!!
- John (9/5): Superb -
- Bjarne (10/5): Simple perfekt. - Everything. The view. The setting. The toilet. Nothing. As in absolutte nothing
- Amber (10/5): Would come back here in a heart beat, such an amazing location and place to spend our time at. - Everything was amazing, the location and views, the cabin was so nice, bed was super comfortable, little extra touches everywhere. Just the little couch in the kitchen area was quite hard ro sit on.
- Warwick (8/5): Very good -
- Steven (9/5): Superb -
- Christian (10/5): Exceptional - The little cabin in the middle of pastures overlooking a bay was perfect for us. Lynley is a caring and very friendly host. We enjoyed to talk and exchange our mutual interests.
- Arina (10/5): Exceptional -
- Ian (10/5): Exceptional - Coming out of the rat race of Auckland, it was so refreshing to find a little gem off the beaten track. It was quiet and clean, with everything one needed to relax. Loved the outdoor fire where you could warm yourself while taking in all night life. Fishing was great, too. Didnt have enough time to stay longer.
