Guest Reviews
- chikaru (10/5): - I stayed in a single room for about a week, and it was very comfortable. As a digital nomad, I really appreciated that the common room also works as a workspace, so it’s easy to stay focused. The two owners are also incredibly warm and welcoming, which made the stay even better. Thank you for everything! Nothing
- Joel (8/5): - Great value for money, offered 5€/bag flat rate to store backpacks for the Valbonë-Theth hike. If needed they can also arrange all transportation for your trip as well but it’s cash only (we opted to book online before so we could pay by card). Air conditioning in the rooms was blessed especially with 40 degree heat. Small shared kitchen with limited space and equipment. Beware if you are planning to cook there is a usually a family dinner which the kitchen is used up from 8pm onwards. Have cafe and bar inside where you can buy coffee/drinks. Some better equipment for kitchen would be nice. Like most hostels shared fridges are a free for all so be sure to keep all your things together in a bag so no one mistakes them for there’s.
- Lily (7/5): Loud staff party, inadequate bicycle parking, small room - Nice big common areas to hang out in, staff were generally really friendly. They advertise bicycle parking but when we arrived on bicycles we were told to leave the bikes on the street until the sun went down then put them inside the hostel. We challenged this but still had to leave them outside for a few hours (if your bicycle is important to you, maybe stay elsewhere if this is an issue). We stayed in the double room which was ok but lacked a few basics like bedside lights (we used our own camping lamp). Mattress was slightly sunken in the middle. The bathrooms were clean on our first day but got dirtier and dirtier throughout our the day stay. Hot water was good though. Our biggest annoyance was that the staff had a massive party on our last night that didn’t stop until about 2:30 in the morning, we weren’t really told about it until we arrived back to the hostel after dinner and then no apology was offered. The common areas were supposed to be closed at 10pm to allowed people to sleep but we had a sleepless night due to the extremely loud music, talking and smoking happening right below our room. We think it’s fair that staff get to celebrate things and relax in the hostel but don’t go against your own policies with noise, it really sucked. The price for the room was expensive compared with other hostels and hotels in the area which have much better facilities and bike parking.

- Ksenia (10/5): I'm in love ♥♥♥ - One of the best hostels I've ever been to! Came for 2 nights, stayed for almost 2 weeks in both Traveler 1 and 2 lol
Starting with the atmosphere made by volunteers and hosts, all the game nights and trips, the pool table in Traveler 1 (you could see me there half the time haha), and pool in Traveler 2 (perfect for hot days with 40 Celsius!), the little Mici cats, the wonderful people this place attracts... Enes, Dori and the big boss Xhulio are putting their souls into the hostels to make it one of the highlights of my whole Albania trip!
There's an area on the second floor that is great for remote work, but it gets loud in the evenings. If you want some peace and quiet for calls and meetings, you should definitely try Traveler 2 (10 min walk). Other than the fact that there was no chalk for the pool cues and they never had any Jägermeister for me, I got nothing lol
- naama (8/5): - Very nice ppl and hosting:)
- Lara (10/5): - My stay in the hostel was Great. The guys from the hostel do Everything to make your stay the best and the atmosphere is familiar, helpful and hospitable. They offer a Family Dinner in the evening. You can also use the kitchen. Beautiful and Big Community area where you can chill or work. You can also rent bikes, book buses to Theth or Valbona and store your luggage.

- Genzardi (3/5): -
- Todd (10/5): - Staff was incredible and lovely atmosphere to socialise Had a problem with water pressure
- Adriana (10/5): Exceptional -
- Ashley (7/5): Good -
- Susana (10/5): Welcoming - Ideal for digital nomads, the second floor has a lovely co-working space. The owners are incredibly helpful too. Private rooms are small, not an issue for me but worth considering.
- Sam (10/5): Exceptional -

Price is great, and the place is cozy and has a great vibe, with a pool table and fussball table.
- Cassandra (10/5): Staff were lovely and made the whole stay, absolutely would recommend! - Good location and super clean!
- Efrat (8/5): Very good - A very basic hostel. in the middle of at street market, nice location, close to all you need
a great stop for backpackers.
Great base for starting the peak of balkan hike. you can book a bus to Theth in the hostel. they are selling gas cylinders for camping.
nice staff.
- Sai (10/5): Exceptional -
- Sean (9/5): Superb - Staff were extremely accomodating and answered all our questions very comprehensively. You can book bus/ferrys for the hike here and leave your bags while you hike.
- Quinten (8/5): Very good -

- Adin (9/5): Superb -
- Agata (9/5): Superb - Friendly staff, location, interior, quietness, air con, luggage storage, help with transport organisation, open kitchen

- Aggelos (10/5): Best value for money hotel in Shkoder. One night only 20€ - The place was very comfortable and bellow the rooms there was a cafeteria where you could buy a drink and relax
+ The bathrooms were very clean
The owners also were very helpfull and welcoming The only problem I encountered was that there was only one power outlet in my room
- Hanna (9/5): It was perfect for a one night stay. - Staff was super friendly, place is well equipped
- Lucienne (10/5): Exceptional - Would highly recommend this hostel! The staff were amazing and organised our transport to Valbone and back from Theth with ease. You can leave your bags at the hostel while you do the Valbone to Theth hike! The hostel is clean, comfortable and fun!
- Nicholas (8/5): Very good -
- Laurens (8/5): Very good -
- David (10/5): Exceptional - Pretty convenient location, excellent friendly staff, great value for the private rooms, excellent AC which was greatly appreciated with the high temps. NA
- Colin (10/5): A solo traveler’s dream. - This is a gem of a hostel for solo travelers - laid back vibe, comfortable space, great value. Enes and Xhulio are fantastic and can help with literally anything you might need. While the location isn’t as central, Shkodër is not huge and you can reach the main square/streets in less than 15 minutes. Wish people would take slightly better care of shared bathroom areas, but that’s on other guests not the hostel itself.
- Dori (7/5): Nice hostel, unfortunately with bed bugs - Friendly and helpful staff, the dorm was really spacious and it was relatively cool inside during the day. Unfortunately I encountered bed bugs during my one-night stay (I actually found and killed two of them). This meant I hardly got any decent sleep, hence my lower rating :(
- Polina (10/5): Great hostel - Amazingly kind and helpful staff as they arranged the Theth hike for me. Location was a bit outside of the center but still walkable. I loved the paintings on the walls. Lots of bathrooms and showers. A big common area and a kitchen. Aircon was on only during the night. Lockers for personal belongings would be useful.
- Andrew (10/5): Amazing - The owners make sure everything you need is answered to and are caring. The room has great air conditioning and the football is put on outside on a big tv. I had food poisoning for a restaurant and they helped so much with extending my stay in the same bed and even offered to go to the local pharmacy to get me something to help.
- Alexander (10/5): Exceptional - Staff were great, too and a bed comfy 15-20 min walk to the centre of town. Which is fine :)
- Felix (9/5): Superb - Great new hostel in Shkoder, amazingly sweet, helpful and likeable staff/owners! Had one little issue which was immediately solved on the spot!
- Carlos (10/5): Exceptional - The receptionists were super kind. Always with a smile and we also got to hang out for a bit. I really appreciate the approach they had.
Everything was comfortable and clean. Kudos to them!
- Ronald (10/5): Yes! Good place! - The staff was awsome! Comfy bed!
- Güner (10/5): Exceptional - Xhulio and Enes really good peoples thanks for everything , see you soon again guys
- Georgina (10/5): Exceptional - Very clean and spacious!
- Teresa (10/5): If I have the chance I’ll be back - Completely new Hostel with an amazing vibe. Location is perfect super close to the center and attractions (it’s in a chilled area so you can rest easily). Facilities and internet connection perfect and it’s also a great spot if you would like to stay and work from here (they have a super nice area on the 1st floor with all you might need to work). Simple bedrooms but perfect for a night rest. And the staff is amazing and super helpful.
- Malaika (10/5): Exceptional - Amazing place! Staff was so great and helpful with booking buses to Theth and planning your stay in Theth.
Rooms were very nice and clean, common area and the outside area before the hostel great to meet people and talk/chill.
Best thing about the hostel is the vibe. They put so much effort into people feeling welcome, being able to connect (lots of activities etc.) and being able to explore the city (recommendations, bike rentals).
Would always come back! Special shoutout to the staff (Xhulio and Enes), they always try to improve the hostel as well as your stay!
- Lien (10/5): Very friendly people, amazing facilities, super helpful staff and really fun daytrips - Everyone was super friendly, and the staff were super helpful 😊 It's a new hostel and you can really see the dedication and passion that was put into making the place feel as welcoming and homey as possible. A lot of fun options for day trips and the staff are very knowledgeable about things to do in the area. Would 100% stay again :)
- Bryce (10/5): Exceptional -
- Jacob (10/5): Highly recommend, great facilities and staff - Great hostel to stay in Shköder. Staff are very helpful and friendly. Highly recommend.
- Nobuhiro (10/5): Exceptional - The staffs are very kind and friendly.
They helped me to arrange the transportation to Theth.
- Deisinger (9/5): Superb - The workers are really kind and help you out wherever they can. We also booked a trip to the alps with them and where able to leave our bags there.
- Olivia (10/5): Exceptional - Staff were super friendly and very helpful, helped us book the transport to and from the Theth hike and helped answer any questions we had
- Hendry (10/5): Exceptional -
- Garrett (10/5): Exceptional - Great staff, easy to meet other travelers in the common areas. Free pool table and cheap beer. Outside around the corner in the morning is the main market street for the city. Good for clothes or produce, amazing place to see the locals going about their day. Unfortunately no AC just yet
- Patrick (10/5): Exceptional -
- Elena (9/5): Superb - Perfect for solo travelers and digital nomads, Stay there a couple of Nights, Not only one and enjoy Shkoder!!
- Ines (10/5): I highly recommend - The staff is very nice ! They help us to plan our trip all around Albania and especially to the north. We rented bikes for a trip to the lake and it was amazing. If you love pool or babyfoot, it’s also a good place to stay. We had a lot of fun with it. Thanks Enes ! -
- James (9/5): Great new hostel near the center! - A brand new hostel less than 15 minutes from the center. The common areas are amazing and definitely set this hostel above most others I've stayed! There's a pool and foosball table in the game room, a great library and chill area, and a balcony. There's a cafe downstairs which serves drinks and great coffee. The staff are really friendly and helpful! You can also rent bikes for the day for €5 which is a huge plus. A little warm in the rooms but that just comes with the environment. The staff are doing everything to work out the few kinks being that it's a new hostel.
- Johngunther (10/5): Very friendly and accommodating hostel - I stayed at Traveler Hostel just as it was opening for its first summer season. The managers are very friendly and accommodating people, working very hard to get their business off to a good start. As guest money starts rolling in, they're planning to invest in further amenities. The hostel offers both dorm and private rooms and the common areas are bright and cheery. The Workaway volunteers while I was there were a diverse, interesting, and fun group of young people and we got along famously. The hostel is in a bustling Shkodër neighborhood, full of interesting shops and sidewalk kiosks, a 14 minute walk from the bus station. Free street parking in the neighborhood is easy in the evening but requires a bit more searching if you arrive during business hours. Shkodër is at the southern end of large Lake Shkodra. The modern, but typical, Adriatic Sea beach town of Shengjin is an hour away by vehicle. Most travelers (I was one of them), know nothing about Albania. I highly recommend the nation and the hostel as interesting destinations. There are some legal obstacles to installing a full kitchen, so at this point cooking facilities are very limited: a large toaster oven, sandwich grill, and pizza maker. This is only of concern if you plan to cook your own meals.
- Gary (9/5): Superb - First it's a hostel that offers reasonably priced single rooms, which seems very rare these days.
Excellent location, pretty much in the market so it's lively by day but quiet at night, but still pretty central.
It has clean and bright common areas.
The staff are so helpful, helped start up my Valbone to Theth hike and helped me sort out a direct bus to Kosovo which would've been difficult to impossible without local knowledge.
The room itself is a decent size and the bed comfortable.
I never had to wait for the shared toilet or bathroom The room was very hot at night though I was supplied with a fan on my return visit which certainly helped.
There's no seat on the toilet on the top floor
- Veigo (7/5): Good - Nice place and good attitude. Facilities let you be desired. No barriers on second floor of bunk bed. No hot water for shower in the morning.
- Ronan (10/5): Exceptional - Brilliant! Really enjoyed my stay and would recommend to anyone 👌The facilities are great (WiFi, games room and rooms in general). The guys are fantastic and create an great atmosphere!! Will hopefully be back sometime in the future 🤙
- Mirjam (10/5): The perfect stay - It was amazing. The staff/owners were so nice, hospitable and helpful. I hurt myself, so they went directly to the pharmacy and got bandages, we cooked together and they tried to answer every question we had. The rooms were clean and comfortable.
Thank you again, we will definetly recommend you to our friends! :)
- Un (10/5): Exceptional - Amazing Hostel. A paradise for digital nomads in Albania. Hard to find a place like this, strong internet, amazing owners and staff, the game room can cure every pain. I will recommend everybody to come here. Also it's a plus the location, in the deep of the Albanian hood, just out the door you have all the market.
- Lira (10/5): Exceptional - Perfect location 👌😍
Full in immersion with the spirit of the city, vegetable market in front 😍
Super atmosphere ✌🏼 Rooms are clean, hot shower, delicious coffee 👍🏻
The guys are friendly, respectful helpful 🤍
Great experience, i definitely recommend to stop here :)
Thank you 🙏
- Emma (10/5): Great hostel in market area in Skhoder ! - This hostel was really great ! The staff was friendly and gave me recommandations for things to do and restaurants to eat at. It's located right in the street market area so it's very easy to get food and it's 10 min away from the city center.
My dorm room was spacious and clean and there is a kitchen you can use freely.
If you are traveling solo and working remotely like me or as a digital nomad there is a mezzanine space with tables and sofas where you can work at and downstairs games and a bar for meeting people.
All in all I thought this hostel had a cool and chill vibe , I recommend for anyone staying a few days in Skhoder :)
- Barandiaran (10/5): Exceptional - The place to be !
Staff are young, local and super nice !
Best location, directly in immersion with the Albanian style. (Better than city center for my point of view).
You will see...
Enjoy.
