- Olivia (10/5): - We had such a lovely stay at Villa Augustine! Firstly, we had wondered if the location was a bit distant from the centre of things, but it was actually perfect — an easy taxi ride from the train station on arrival, and then during our stay just an easy (though steep) walk down the hill into to the Medina or back up the hill 'home' again — we always felt safe and enjoyed the stroll. Our hosts were so sweet and caring during our short stay, and we enjoyed the lovely home-cooked breakfast. The room itself was so calm and chic — I immediately wanted to sit and read in the Eames recliner for hours on end, but the Tangiers outside beckoned! Even though it was a bit chilly in late November my husband and I enjoyed watching the sunset across the Strait from the rooftop terrace with a bottle of wine we had brought with us. The rooftop at Villa Mabrouka very nearby is also lovely for a sunset aperitif (also a bit chilly at this time of year, but uncrowded and relaxing). I’m so glad we chose Villa Augustine for our stay in Tangiers — it really set the tone for a beautiful, authentic, welcoming and relaxed couple of days in this fascinating town.
- Hanna Mirjam (10/5): -
- Elisabeth (10/5): - Exceptional boutique hotel visit - amazing design, comfort and hospitality
- Gertruda Gaby (10/5): Prachtig - Prachtige inrichting, top personeel, fijne ontvangst! Niets
- Luis (9/5): - It is the best interiors I have seen in a long time. A perfect balance between local, modern, comfort, style and unique art. A bit further away from the medina

- Corine (10/5): - Bel emplacement.
- Joana (9/5): - Amazing location, very close to the old Medina. The breakfast in the rooftop area was definitely one of the highlights of our stay, the staff always made us feel really welcome and comfortable. The whole villa is gorgeous and so well taken care of.
Rien
- El Gharbouj (9/5): Un lieu parfait … -
- Amer (10/5): Amazing place to stay - Amazing property and the staff were exceptional!
- Virginie (10/5): -
- Lotte (10/5): - A gorgeous house - such a lovely stay. It was great to be a bit outside of the medina/kasbah - only 10 mins away but in an area with a real local feel and a beautiful park full of children playing and people sitting out drinking tea into the night. Our room was super well-equipped and amazingly cool despite the heat outside. Thank you so much!
- Kate (10/5): Chic villa, perfect location, staff amazing - The villa has been exceptionally renovated and full of all the comforts you need. The staff are friendly and helpful, nothing is too much trouble. Gorgeous views from the rooftop, and delicious breakfast too! Great location, easy walk to the Medina - highly recommend. Not a big issue but there is no air con in our rooms, just fans. Plenty of sea breezes though.

- Ghadir (10/5): Home away from home. - The stay at villa Augustine was the highlight of our trip to morocco. We arrived at the train station and were picked up by hassan and dropped at villa Augustine. Hassan is such a polite person he kept informing us about the places in Tangier whilst driving to the hotel, he was always more than happy and delighted to answer our questions. when we arrived we where welcomed by the staff duha and ahmed and the day after by nadir. This place is like no other place, it was the first time to book in a family style property but it was more than beautiful. you can see immediately the attention to detail in everything such as the design, the rooms, the books around the place, the food and everything. We were also honored to meet the owner of the place he's such a gentlemen. This place felt like home away from home that's something you'll feel immediately once you arrive, can't thank nadir and his team enough. It's such a luxury to stay at this place if you where able to find reservation as there is only 4 rooms .The boutique hotel is placed 5 min walk from the old souk and it's very safe all day to roam around. NOTHING AT ALL
- Adam (10/5): The most well designed hotel in Tangiers - This hotel was incredibly beautiful. It was clear that genuine thought had gone into every detail down to the crockery and it was really just a pleasure to stay in. Other notable things about our stay:
- Nadir and the team were very friendly and helpful
- The rooftop area for breakfast is just beautiful. The sea view is gorgeous and I love all the lush potted greenery around the seating area
- Breakfast was lovely. Simple but lovely
- Spacious rooms with tremendous furniture
- Good wifi
More on the area:
- The area is super safe and beautiful (it's right next to a royal palace)
- There are many nice cafe's within walking distance - including the famous Cafe Hafa
- There are always taxis streaming past. We walked out the hotel with out luggage and was able to get a taxi to the airport within minutes
I visit tangiers every few years and this will be my goto hotel if available! - We stayed in May where the weather was just perfect but there was one night that was slightly warmer. There is a ceiling fan but I'm curious how the room would be in the middle of summer with no AC (perhaps they bring in portable units? Worth checking first tbh)
- Katharin (10/5): Exceptional - Felt like walking into a magazine. The design and vision of this home was absolutely spectacular. The comfort of the bed was out of this world, and the bathtub was perfect. The house staff and founder were so welcoming , it added so much warmth to our visit. I would definitely book again on future visits.
- Zainab (9/5): Superb -
- Hamza. (8/5): Great gateway in Tangier, fantastic location, well worth the visit - The villa, the design, the location, the staff No sleepers in the rooms, no coffee capsules, the coffee cups, breakfast was a little too basic....minor details overall, but it makes a little difference
- Maxime (10/5): Incredible villa only 10 minutes walking distance from Medina - It's a gorgeous villa with only 4 rooms, so it's very intimate. The decoration is exquisite, the rooms and beds super comfortable. There is also 2 rooftop terraces for breakfast (also excellent) or reading with ocean view. The plus : the staff is really nice and helpful, we really felt welcome.
- Francesca (10/5): A little corner of paradise - I had the most amazing experience staying at this beautiful Villa Augustine. The entire place is exquisitely furnished, with a perfect blend of elegance and comfort that makes you feel instantly at ease. Every detail, from the decor to the atmosphere, reflects great taste and attention to detail.
The villa was spotlessly clean and incredibly comfortable, offering a truly relaxing environment. I felt completely at home from the moment I arrived. The staff were exceptionally kind, attentive, and always ready to help with a smile – their warmth truly enhanced my stay.
Breakfast each morning was simply delightful, with delicious options that added a touch of indulgence to the start of every day.
I wholeheartedly recommend this charming gem to anyone looking for a peaceful and beautiful retreat. It really is a little corner of paradise, and I can't wait to return!
- Danielle (10/5): Exceptional - Absolutely stunning property and have never stayed in such a lovely guest house in all my travels. Perfect location and Nadir and the team were exceptional, so welcoming , friendly and nothing was too much trouble making the stay in Tangier and villa augustine even more magical. Would highly recommend
- Zora (10/5): Exceptional - We had a wonderful stay at Villa Augustine! Nadir and his team were incredibly kind and welcoming – we felt at home right away. The villa's design is beautiful and full of thoughtful details.
Breakfast was delicious, and even as someone who eats gluten-free, it was no problem at all – I brought my own bread and everything worked out smoothly. We also really appreciated being able to do some laundry during our stay.
A huge thank you to the amazing team! If we ever come back to Tangier, this will definitely be our place to stay again – it felt just like home. ❤️ If you're a light sleeper, it can get a bit noisy at night inside the house. But with a good pair of earplugs, it's totally manageable.
- Tom (8/5): Very good -
- Reza (10/5): My wife and I had a great time in this beautiful place and we will stay here again. - An excellent place to stay. Very pretty. Mr. Nadir and his staff are extremely kind and they make sure that your stay is as pleasant as possible. The breakfast is super. I will definitely stay here again. Everything was truly perfect. My wife and I loved everything. There was nothing that we did not like.
- Lara (10/5): Exceptional -
- Adilla (10/5): Exceptional -
- Natalia (10/5): Dear Willem, here is my review of our wonderful stay at Villa Augustine. Thank you so much for these incredible days! Yo -
- Thomas (10/5): Exceptional - Beautiful villa and stunning design.
Very welcoming staff and the family style breakfast is excellent.
- Melissa (10/5): Super Stylish in every way! - Villa Augustine was so beautifully curated, the level of luxury in the decor and the detail in the room is wonderful. This is made even better by the wonderful staff who made us feel right at home, nothing was too much trouble. It really is a perfect place to stay there is nothing to improve.
- Myriam (10/5): Pure bliss - We loved everything, such a dreamy place. Great service from the staff— thank you!
- Thomas (10/5): Villa Augustine - January 2025 - The hotel was very unique. While it had expensive looking fittings and furnishings, the atmosphere was very comfortable. Doha (sorry if the wrong spelling) and Ahmed were wonderful hosts, chilled and attentive - making the experience even more homely. Nothing comes to mind!
- Mariya (10/5): Exceptional - Amazing stylish place with friendly and helpful staff
- Bartlomiej (10/5): Exceptional - Rooftop terrace with a breathtaking view of the sea,
Very ascetic interior design,
Helpful staff,
Magnificent breakfast,
Good internet,
Nice neighborhood, and easy access to the city by taxi or bus. hard to turn off the faucet in the bathroom
- Martina (10/5): Dreamy - I actually hardly write a review, but my days at Villa Augustine were so extraordinary that I feel the need to say THANK YOU. There‘s no need to describe the furnishings of the villa, as one can see the tasteful design in the photos. What you may not be able to tell from them is the attention to detail: it ranges from DCW lamps to stylish bathrobes by Moroccan manufacturer Art Tissage Tam. Location is key and Nadir and his always attentive team are wonderful hosts who take care of all the guests' needs with the utmost care. I was finally impressed by the fact that the tables were not covered with the usual coffeetable books but with carefully selected literature and art books, such as a catalog by Isa Genzken. I hope I can come back one day!
- Hinda (10/5): Exceptional -
- Tara (8/5): Very good - Beautiful design, very comfortable beds and very kind staff. Rooms are not sound proof. Every door that opens whether downstairs or on your floor, shower, and the conversation of the guests in the room next door, is audible from inside your room.
More variety for the breakfasts would also be welcome.
- A’ishah (10/5): Exceptional - the most beautiful place.
lovely staff.
nice breakfasts.
local area is wonderful.
thank you so much ✨ alhamdulilah
- Melanie (10/5): Place to be! -
- Faouzi (10/5): One of the best booking ever. - The design of the villa is gorgeous, the rooms too.
The staff is very friendly and helpful.
The view from the rooftop is beautiful.
We met the owner during our stay and he is a very polite, friendly and humble man. Nothing (maybe you can’t darken the rooms all the way during the day)
- Doreen (7/5): Nice and cosy . Staff very helpful. - Fresh produce and good quality Maybe breakfast could start earlier than 9am
- Ciornei (10/5): I felt like i didn't wanna leave. Try it at least once, you won't regret it! - Food, location, atmosphere, makes you feel like is your villa and your just spending time at home. The rooms are clean and they smell amazing. It's a must if you visit Tangier, you will have a nice experience of the city. Plus is 10 min walk to Medina( the old city) Totally recommend this place
- Mosaied (10/5): Exceptional - A true gem! This has to be one of the best boutique hotel experiences we've ever had! From the moment we arrived, we were blown away. Every corner of the villa is a true piece of art, with stunning design touches that made us feel like we were staying in an arts museum (but a comfortable one!). The location was also excellent - very close to all the sights, quiet and peaceful with a lovely view of the ocean and city.
But what truly elevated our stay was the top-notch service. The staff (Nader, Saeed and Ahmed) were incredibly friendly. A special shoutout to Willem, the owner, who went above and beyond to make us feel welcome and comfortable. He really made a difference.
Overall, we cannot recommend Villa Augustine highly enough!
- Ana (10/5): Exceptional -
- Ralph (9/5): Coolest place for a stop in cool Tangier - Good staff; lovely roof terrace with view over the Straits; beautifully furnished room. Nothing
- Samantha (9/5): Perfect base from which to explore Tangier and superb value for money. - Villa Augustine is tucked away at the end of a no through road and so is secluded and peaceful but still only 10 minutes walk into the Kasbah.
The interiors are stunning, bed linen and beds are so comfortable and the breakfast is superb. I found myself wishing there was a roof top plunge pool…space is limited on the roof for relaxing outside.
- Jane (10/5): A beautiful boutique hotel in Tangier with five star quality and service - Literally everything. Our stay was a wonderful and memorable experience. Villa Augustine is a luxurious, stylish and welcoming boutique hotel in the heart of Tangier, a short walk from the historic centre. The charismatic owner, Willem, is friendly and helpful, making suggestions and bookings for us and considering every detail. His thoughtful touches made all the difference: a vase of freshly picked rosemary, lavender and hydrangea which appeared by the bed, a decanter of brandy, fresh towels. I have never had such service. And the place is spotless. Our large room was sumptuous-a huge bed, high quality linen, dreamy shower and a free standing copper bath, complete with candle and lighter for those who like a bit of atmosphere. I could easily imagine coming back in winter to light the open fire. Breakfast on the roof terrace was a highlight for me, looking out to sea surrounded by flowers, eating fresh fruit, granola, freshly squeezed orange juice, scrambled eggs, toast, fresh coffee. We really did not want to leave, but when we did (at 6.00 to catch the early ferry back to Tarifa) Willem was there to give us breakfast and see us off. Amazing service, exquisite attention to detail and an unforgettable stay. We hope to return very soon and use the plunge pool this time. Nothing. We couldn't fault it.
- Armstrong (10/5): A gem in Tangiers - Very homely, stylish and welcoming. Loved our stay.
- Sodha (10/5): Magical stay in a fabulous place. - Villa Augustine in Tangier is an absolutely amazing place to stay. From the moment we arrived, Nadir and Mohammed made our visit incredibly special with their warm hospitality and attentive service. The breakfast was delicious, offering a variety of fresh, local options that were the perfect start to each day.
The villa itself was immaculate, with every detail thoughtfully curated. The owner has clearly invested a great deal of effort into the design and flow of the building, creating a truly magical experience. Each room was beautifully decorated, blending traditional Moroccan charm with modern comforts. Villa Augustine is a gem in Tangier, and we can't wait to return!
- Jafar (10/5): Exceptional -
- Shads (7/5): Good - Lovely place, good hospitality and nice guests I was a disappointed with my room as I booked and paid for the pool room but I didn’t get it. Bathroom floor could have been a little bit cleaner.
- Antony (10/5): We had a truly fantastic trip made all the more magical by our stay at Villa Augustine. We thank Willem, Nadir and all t - Villa Augustine is superb. Sumptuous with such fantastic attention to details. From the outset you knew you were welcome and that this was no ordinary holiday accommodation. Our host and the staff ensured we wanted for nothing going above and beyond. Though you book a room you very soon realise you're getting so much more from generous terrace breakfasts to mid afternoon tea after a day wandering the medina. Our room was beautiful with gorgeous streaming light and a sea view. Wow just wow. The facilities like decoration could not have been better. Absolutely nothing. When we return to Tangiers we will book again.
- Keren (10/5): Exceptional -
- Mili (10/5): Exceptional -
- Kerstin (10/5): Privacy and Hospitality became Family - The interior design was just gerat. There was a color scheme, a pattern of materials, surprising elements and every piece was thoughtfully selected. That was exceptional. Also Nadir and the other staff were super nice and carefully attentive. There was nothing left we could have wished for
- Lori (9/5): It was perfect for a 2 night stay. I would love to return and rent the entire villa. - The breakfast was excellent served in a wonderful location on the roof terrace. The rooms are beautifully decorated. The communication with the staff at time was poor and it took awhile for people to respond back to us. Some of the information was not accurate due to the upcoming holiday and no one advised us of this.
- Berenice (8/5): Nice villa in the Heart of Tanger - Very Nice hotel, design is great ! Well located in Tanger. The breakfast really could be better. Very Poor in terms of moroccan specialties.
- Gilmar (9/5): Outstanding boutique stay in a quiet area - Outstanding. Beats every hotel. The owner is an interior designer and it shows. This is a place where you want to stay, not just sleep. The team go out of their way to help, and they do it with a smile. We had lovely breakfasts on the rooftops, a dinner inside and Nadir lit a crackling fire when the weather wasn’t so great. Yes the pool room isn’t as quiet as the others but it wasn’t a problem for me. The area is very quiet.
- Lukas (10/5): Exceptional - The Design, the comfort, the friendly hosts, the rooftop, the breakfast,... all perfect! Will come again! Best place to stay in Tangier
- Thomas (10/5): A trully wonderful and unforgettable stay - We truly enjoyed our time at Villa Augustine. Having stayed at several other lovely hotels in Morocco, such as El Fenn in Marrakech, we can confidently say that our experience at Villa Augustine surpasses them all. This townhouse in Tangier is a hidden gem, exuding elegance and sophistication in its design and decor. From the carefully selected local art pieces to the unique designer furniture and exquisite materials like marble, every detail adds to the charm of the house.
What made our stay truly special was the warm hospitality of our host, Nadir. He and his team went above and beyond to ensure we felt at home. From cooking us a delicious Moroccan dinner upon our arrival to preparing scrumptious breakfasts and assisting with arranging visits and transportation, Nadir took care of everything with a smile. It felt like having a friend in Tangier rather than just a host.
We had a wonderful time and are already looking forward to our next visit to Villa Augustine. Thank you, Nadir, and your team, for making our stay unforgettable. Merci, merci! There wasn't one thing we didn't like about the property
- Kristina (10/5): Truly exceptional - amenities, staff and breakfast - Truly the best place I have stayed in! So beautifully decorated and comfortable. The staff and the owner were very welcoming and helpful. It really felt like home!
The rooms are big and all the furniture is very comfortable and beautiful. The bath tub in the middle of the room was such a threat as well as the ocean view from the room we rented. We loved the breakfast - fresh, healthy and delicious!
Would stay there over and over again! I wish it was available at any place in the world! ;)
- Lubica (10/5): Exceptional -
- Reem (10/5): Exceptional -
- Friedrich (10/5): Exceptional - Great architecture, interior design and welcoming atmosphere. The staff was very friendly and showed great hospitality. It reminded me of El Fenn.
- Fiona (9/5): Superb - The decor was to a very high standard and funky. The hosts were very welcoming and spoke very good English. Some of the photos were a bit misleading. It looked like the villa was directly on the coastline.
- Nils (9/5): Superb -
- Harjot (8/5): Great location & lovely staff - Great location - close to Merkala Beach, Old Medina & Café Hafa.
Went during January so can be cold in evenings but the fireplaces around the villa made it very cozy. Staff (Ahmed & Nadir) are so lovely and welcoming and made extra effort to communicate with us and ensure we had everything we needed as we couldn’t speak French or Arabic Can be cold in the evenings in the room (sea view room does not have a fireplace)
- Sleap (10/5): Exceptional - Beautiful design. Comfortable. Excellent staff. Great location. Really welcoming of my dog.
- Abdulrahman (10/5): We had the most beautiful getaway in Villa Augustine with unforgettable memories. - The villa’s design is outstanding from the moment you set your eyes on that pretty yellow street door. The villa has beautiful shared terraces and outdoor balconies with gorgeous sea views where you can enjoy your coffee and socialize.
Friendly, welcoming and attentive staff who can prepare the most delicious moroccan Tagine (Chef Nadir)
The location of the property was ideal and surely safe. The rooms have some windows without a curtain if privacy is important to the guests.
- Heimo (10/5): Exceptional - We loved everything! Villa Augustine simply was beyond all expectations - definitely a place to go and stay for another time. We can't wait to go back! The design was on point both in the big picture and in every single detail, the most beautiful gem you can find for your weekend stay in Tanger. With the most perfect house, our stay felt even better with the best possible staff who were so considerate and beautiful human beings. Thank you for making us feel like home and taking all our wishes into account. Nothing we didn't enjoy. It was perfect.
- Anas (10/5): Exceptional -
- Sonia (10/5): Exceptional - Everything exceeded our expectations. The Villa is perfectly decorated, location can’t be better and the staff was very welcoming and made us feel at home. The breakfast was delicious. We hope to return in the future.
- Yolanda (10/5): Your new boutique hotel in Tangiers. - Beautiful boutique hotel right next to the King's Palace. Perfect stay, it exceeded our expectations. Nadir and the team make the experience even more incredible. Would definitely return again. nothing
- Paula (8/5): Very good - Amazing place, art nouveau deco in every corner. You feel the greatness in the details. You feel fancy staying there. The room is huge and the bathroom as well.
The staff are very kind and welcoming, always ready to help us and reply to our needs. The check-in is from 12h, but when we arrived at 13h we were not able to stay yet as other guests were still there.. No problem anyway for us, bcs we just wanted to leave our luggages, but it's good to know in advance what to count with. I think it was a one-time exception, as they are just starting the job. And they are so kind that it didn't really bothered us.
As a small remark, the room could have courtines, it was not the case for all the windows.
