Guest Reviews

- Aleisha (10/5): Cosy and wonderful! - This cottage was the perfect little spot on our way to a wedding, it was so easy to check in and the perfect space. We loved the authenticity of the cottage with its retro furniture and details- it was incredible, also a beautiful rose garden right outside the kitchen windows was so beautiful. The electric blankets and heaters were amazing for a chilly weekend and the cottage was so thoughtfully stocked with milk, crumpets, tea, coffee you name it. Alongside this there was the most thoughtful gift of a homemade boysenberry jam (my favourite) and some chocolates. We would stay here again in a heartbeat- can’t fault it! Thanks for having us!
- Ben (10/5): Great little spot in a great setting - Fantastic setting and comfortable house with plenty of space
- Loretta (10/5): Exceptional cottage, wonderful hosts - Simple gorgeous, exceptionally clean and comfortable, working distance to Aldgate. Fridge was stocked with Milk, butter, crumpets, home made jam and chocolates. We wished it had a washing machine!
- Deichmann (9/5): - Location TV was a mission to operate
- Kate (10/5): Sweet wee house -
- Annette (9/5): Very comfortable and excellent location - The location was perfect for us as we have family in Aldgate. The cottage is beautifully decorated and was very comfortable. many excellent eating place nearby. For me a shower over the bath is very difficult but it was in keeping with the vibe of the cottage. The TV was a challenge but our 12 year old grandson sorted that out in no time!!
- Tamara (10/5): A beautiful stay that we did not want to leave! - Hoopers cottage is immaculately presented and preserves a time gone by.
We cannot recommend a stay here more.
- Liz (9/5): Superb -
- Ester (9/5): We loved our stay and looking forward to returning. - Location was beautiful and quiet. Place had all the amenities to make our stay comfortable. Nothing
- Robin (10/5): Perfect peaceful quiet place that we used as a base to visit friends in the area. - Attention to detail in its renovation back to its 1960s era. Spotlessly clean, lovely frozen berries from their garden in the fridge and a jug of rain water. Nothing
- Liliana (10/5): Beautiful 60’s-style house with modern updates that made for a perfect stay - The house was lovely and Philip and Cathy were fantastic hosts. Everything was up to date and luxurious, we loved staying here

- Kristin (10/5): Exceptionally comfortable, authentic retro cottage in a superb location. - I don't think breakfast was officially provided, regardless the hosts provided crumpets, butter and spreads. It was a nice surprise and very much appreciated. Absolutely nothing. It was all exactly as advertised, and the ambience was better than I had hoped. Such a cute cottage!
- Karel (10/5): Exceptional -
- Burn (10/5): We will return - The peace and quiet. The house and garden was beautiful Needed a small fan to circulate air.
The mozzies were really bad.
- Graham (9/5): Very pleasant, neat, clean , welcoming -
- Maree (10/5): Loved it - The cottage was in a great location a short drive to a lot of the Barossa Valley highlights. The cottage itself was very clean and a step back in time for my sister and I, back into the late 1950’s to 1960. The owners were very friendly and helpful. Would definitely recommend
- Anonymous (10/5): This comfortable accommodation made our holiday more happier. - Perfect space for my family, clean and quiet, specially with little kids, the front yard is enough for kids to play.

The local villages of Aldgate & Stirling are both great to explore, along with lots of nearby walking trails. I felt very at home and definitely hope to come back and stay again.

- Robert (10/5): Good location for the Tour Down Under, it was selected for that reason and a nice place to stay. - Their breakfast was great, everything was fresh and nice and simple and sufficient for our stay. There was nothing that we didn't like, the house was a great example of a 60s house, with a few modern additional, like Wifi and a flat screen TV, everything else took me back to my childhood memories.
