Guest Reviews
- Sorin 1986 (10/5): - Cosy Coastal Cottage very simple but very welcoming. High recommend.
- Catriona (10/5): Comfortable cottage in a lovely location - Perfect location for a weekend away. Close to the sea, and on a quiet road. Comfy beds. Kitchen small but well equipped. Cottage lovely and warm.
We really appreciated the late checkout, it made the last day much more relaxed. Beautiful sunsets. We liked everything!
- Marta (10/5): - Amazing location

- Ó Hallúin (7/5): - Fire was lit in sitting room and house was nice and warm. Very comfortable beds and great sleep was had. Lovely quiet location very close to seashore.
- Derek (10/5): - We loved every minute of our stay...the perfect relaxing cottage Nothing

- Katalin (10/5): A wonderful little gem in Sligo - A lovely, warm, comfortable place in a scenic cul de sac by the ocean. It was perfect. Nothing.
- Andrew (8/5): Great location and worth a stay. - Fabulous location within a minutes walk of the sea. Cosy once we had worked out the central heating. Plenty of room and very peaceful but be aware that you need to have food with you as there’s not much nearby. A folder of instructions would be useful and the kitchen needs updating otherwise great.
- Siobhan (8/5): Cosy and quirky. Great location. - A lovely old cottage. Quirky but cosy. Its was nice being so close to the sea. Only used the main bedroom but that very comfortable to sleep in. Kitchen us small but had everything you needed to cook. Really liked the big stove but need plenty of firewood. We really enjoyed our stay. Pets are allowed but as it was not fully enclosed we couldn't let the dog out on his own as he managed to escape. Everything else was great.
- Carole (9/5): Cute and quaint cottage - Heating and light on when we arrived, we'll equipped cottage that had everything we needed, very affordable. Cute and quaint, loved our stay! Bathroom was very small and shower not great, but to be expected with age of the cottage
- Jacqueline (10/5): Ideal peaceful haven as you can hear the sea crashing against the rocks - The size is great and good value as you have the whole cottage and there is ample parking with a wet room Nothing bad to say about it however would say more for a couple or family as is vert remote and peaceful I had a dog with me which was nice to have for the company
- Louise (10/5): We had a lovely stay at Coastal Cottage. - Lovely cottage, great location with a couple of minutes walk to the sea. Easy to check in and find with the information given by Angela prior to arrival. Cottage had everything we needed for our stay. Spent an evening sat in garden, very peaceful. For those that need wifi, the connection was good.

- Joseph (10/5): Exceptional - Location was superb Should have stayed longer! Really couldn't fault the place.
- Davina (10/5): Exceptional -
- Lynne (9/5): Lovely cottage in a stunning location with all you need for a stay. - Fabulous location, so peaceful and quiet. Just a short walk to a pebble beach. Lovely to sit outside as we had great weather, an abundance of wild birds and a stunning g night sky. Just perfect for getting away from the hustle & bustle. Spacious master bedroom with plenty of natural light. Plenty of towels. We used the washing machine a d it was great, had a short programme & a washing line outside, perfect. Comfy seating. Took a little while to get Prime on the TV but got there. 10 min drive to the Beach Bar, which had outside seating & served great food. Ideal location for exploring Sligo & Mayo. A very enjoyable stay indeed. The cooker a little dated.
- Virgenia (8/5): Lovely cottage by the sea. - It's nice. It's what a cottage is supposed to be. It's a nice cozy cottage by the sea with sheep in the field in front of the house. I didn't find the instructions for the wood burning stove for the first day and unfortunately I'm not familiar with how to use them so we wasted a good amount of wood (so sorry about that) trying to heat the home. Once we found the instructions, we were able to get the place nice and cozy in no time.
- Paulo (9/5): Superb -
- Susie (10/5): We really enjoyed our stay here. The house was warm, with everything you need to cook and light the fire. Angela was ver - Location, amenities, garden, pets allowed.
- Derek (10/5): Ideal home in great location. - Lovely comfortable warm and clean house ideal for family getaway close to the sea and the many great Sligo beaches nearby. Nothing.
- Nicola (8/5): Very good -
- Keerish (9/5): Lovely cottage and really nice and comfortable! - This is a lovely little cottage in a nice quiet area. The rooms are nice and cozy and there is also a lovely chimney and a fully equipped kitchen. We had a nice walk to the beach in the morning which is only a few minutes away on foot. Really enjoyed our stay!
- Karen (10/5): Will be back - We had a short break here and loved the house and the area, we will definitely come back again, lots of places we didn't get to see
- John (9/5): Superb - lovely cottage in beautiful setting
lovely touches with socks to wear at night. basic foods supplied which was totally unexpected Little bit cold in the evening
but it is winter now
- Siobhan (10/5): Exceptional -
- Janet (9/5): Great quiet countryside cottage with killer views!! - We loved our stay at the charming Coastal Cottage. It was the perfect respite just a little more than half way through our Ireland trip. We were pretty exhausted from the constant driving and sightseeing, and when we got to the cottage (2 nights) we decided to cancel our plans for the next day and just do laundry, take walks, and relax. (We agreed that plan worked so well it will be part of our next trip as well.) We had gotten some groceries and decided to do some cooking. The stove and oven worked well and the washer worked well. The kitchen was stocked with the basic equipment needed. The cottage is comfortable and cozy, and the location — if you are looking for a quiet place — just can’t be beat. We took multiple long walks, picked red raspberries that were growing EVERYWHERE, and took lots of photos. After seeing the farmer Josie on his blue tractor multiple times, he stopped and chatted with us, telling us of a good loop walk to take and inviting us to walk through his pasture (we didn’t, but appreciated the hospitality). We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and highly recommend the cottage if you are looking for someplace quiet, simple, and has the necessities. The shower left something to be desired, but it got the job done so that’s all I really care about. The twin beds are a little firm (which some people like), and this older body would have appreciated a cushioned topper, but I got enough sleep and other places we stayed also had firm beds as well so that may be the norm.
- Sonya (10/5): Exceptional - Nice and quiet peaceful
- Michelle (10/5): Exceptional -
- Paula (9/5): Loved the location I would book this house again - The house was spotlessly clean and very comfortable. The location is very quiet and peaceful. Close to beautiful beaches. We had a lovely time and will be back again The house met our needs nothing really. Could do with a clothes horse to dry clothes in rainy days.
- Kathryn (5/5): Passable -
- Keith (10/5): Peaceful Stay By The Sea - Very peaceful place to stay with the family. It was nice and cosy. The sea is only a one minute walk from the cottage, it's a pebble beach but very relaxing to sit and listen to the waves crashing. We had a lovely weekend here and it was a good base for us to explore Easky and Enniscrone. The weather. But that's Ireland.😁
- Nollaig (10/5): Exceptional -
- Alan (10/5): A truly pet friendly costal cottage, so glad we found this gem. A home away from home. - We liked everything about the cottage. its decor and the setting were fabulous. The sea was a short stroll away. It was a great hub to travel from to see the sights of Silgo and the surrounding countryside. A home away from home. Our two dogs loved it too, they settled in straight away and give this costal gem a 10 out of 10 paws. Couldn't fault anything. It was perfect👍
- Michael (10/5): Delightful stay in charming cottage - Very quaint property, well presented and location ideal. Perhaps a double bed and bunk beds in the two smaller bed rooms would make the accommodation suitable for families .
- Geraldo4u (10/5): Exceptional -
- Niall (10/5): Exceptional - Amazing location, lovely cottage, perfect location, seaside walk on your doorstep, close to beautiful be beaches. Very friendly and responsive hosts. Highly recommended Nothing. Great place.
- Kerrie (1/5): We left a night early as we were so disappointed. - The stove helped warm the house. This property is very damp, with a strong musty smell and some mould on windows. It does not have a mountain view from the house, and a sea view is only discernible from a shoebox sized window in far corner of the lounge. The house is dark as it is surrounded by overgrown vegetation. No coastal walks or beach walks are accessible from the house, as either side is private property. Thus, though house is very near the sea we were not able to benefit. Kitchen facilities are limited, there is no freezer box and the washing machine was not working while we were there. The garden furniture was rusty and the barbecue was very dirty. Also, the advertised streaming services were not available.
- Lisa (10/5): very comfortable house! - The cottage was very comfortable, well equipped, and clean. There was even real coffee and a French press in the kitchen (very important to some of us!). Loved the woodstove. Hosts were very kind and helpful. There seems to be limited access to walk by the ocean - or maybe I just didn't find it. We were mostly there to catch up on a few decades of life events, not to see the sights, so that was not a problem.
- Eileen (10/5): Exceptional - The cottage was spotlessly clean, cosy an warm.
Timber logs left for the stove ( we did not need them, as we had beautiful.weather) kitchen fully equipped, plenty of towels an extra blankets if needed. Quiet an peaceful location. Would definitely recommend.
- Elena (9/5): Superb - Property is very comfortable, the owner had a fire lit for us on arrival. House had all the essentials needed for our stay. Nothing
- Maryann (9/5): Excellent, very good. Would definitely recommend this property to anybody. - I loved the location an the host was very helpful and friendly any questions Wer answered straight away Nothing
- Brendan (10/5): Exceptional - One of the best ver I have stayed in Nothing
- Rachael (10/5): Heaven! Loved this place and will definitely go back - Location and views Nothing!
- Rebecca (10/5): Exceptional - Fabulous stay in this cozy cottage by the sea. Stunning scenery of the sea and surroundings, really warm and snug cottage. The perfect stay to relax and unwind by the sea. Hosts were excellent and this place exceeded our expectations. A gem of a find! Thanks so much for having us! Nothing.
- Tracy (9/5): Superb -
- Tracy (9/5): Home away from home - I loved that the cottage was right by the coast. On arrival, the fire was already lighting, and it instantly felt like home. I also loved that Angela had dog treats, which was very welcoming towards our dog. Even though our car gave up and we couldn't explore, we still had a wonderful time, and Angela went out of her way to put our minds at ease. We will definitely be back. I liked everything about this home.
- Karen (10/5): Exceptional - I loved absolutely everything about Coastal Cottage. First of all, it's in the most idyllic, peaceful spot, so relaxing. The cottage itself is gorgeous and far exceeded expectations. I'd give my right arm to be able to live there. It is spacious and comfortable, clean and tidy, and every need has been catered for. We had two Grandchildren with us, so obviously brought a lot of stuff, but there was everything and more than we needed in the kitchen alone. Tea, coffee, sugar, utensils, and gadgets were already there. Bedding and towels galore, toiletries, hairdryer, throws, and even fluffy socks! Angela and Billy have thought of everything. We loved every second of our stay, and our Grandchildren wanted to stay another night, endorsement indeed considering it was a wet February and they are 5yrs and 3yrs old. We will definitely be back 💚 Having to leave 🥲
- Bernard (10/5): Tranquil and relaxing and a walkers paradise - Couldn't fault the place and the hosts made everything very simple and hassle free. Directions brought me right to the door .. i was lost in the stunning scenery literally took my breath away. Met local farmer who let me cross his private bridge on his land to get to end of peninsula were i never seen waves as big in my life .. day's went too fast ..
- Catherine (8/5): Very good - The location is excellent for exploring Sligo. The cottage is located in a beautiful district and is well equipped. It was very clean and the slipper socks was a lovely touch.
- Thanawat (1/5): Very disappointing three days - Okay from outside Kitchen is very small and poorly equipped. There was only one saucepan and it was tiny, making it difficult to cook. Rooms were dark and damp.
- Anonymous (10/5): Exceptional - A quaint little cottage surrounded by farms and the ocean. We used this as a central vacation during our golf vacation. We loved the cottage.
- Emer (10/5): Peaceful getaway on the beautiful Sligo coast. - Lovely, quaint cottage with a sea view. This is a well-equipped cottage to help you have a home away from type of stay. The property was very clean with some nice touches included. The weather during our stay wasn’t great but the owner had left throws that you could wrap around yourself and sit out. The heating was on when we arrived making the cottage very toasty and welcoming indeed. I couldn’t fault the place. We loved the cottage and really enjoyed our stay but you do need a car to reach the property.
